The Wasteland Desert Clutch
- A possible evil creation via Millieth and Demotaeth
- A possible evil creation via Millieth and Demotaeth
The tension in the air is tangible and the nicest word to describe how Millieth looks is strung out. All of her eggs have been lain relatively close to her relatively terrifying presence, you know, just in case she needs to take off a few limbs here or there. Ten of the eleven eggs make a diamond shape, with the largest of the eggs forming the top half and the smallest of the eggs forming the lower half. One egg has been exclusively excluded from this arrangement, and it is notably the most important of them all. Millieth seems to have clutched a Queen. The Cliffbush Egg sits alone above the very top of the Diamond and very close to the Queen's jaws and claws. Kaegan honestly and intently warns everyone not to go near this egg until the Touching, she cannot promise your safety.
-----
The ALLUVIUM Egg: Under the Juniper Egg and to the right of the Tumbleweed Egg, sits the second smallest egg of the Clutch. From the front, the Alluvium Egg looks very much like a Goose's, ovular and off white it looks almost pristine to the eye. Until that is, you circle around to the opposite side, where a cascade of browns meets the eye like a waterfall. The marking is thin near the top and gradually fans out wider and wider until the leading edge is curved in appearance. Its possible to compare it to a mudslide, though it takes nearly the same hue throughout. Warm and almost sandy to the touch, the Alluvium Egg feels as if it might have been laid on a sunwarmed beach. But the emotions from this egg are almost void. Only a flutter of restfulness can be felt, and only very occasionally. Those who do manage to catch the trailing feeling, might leave with the notion of taking a nap.
The PEDIMENT Egg:[/b] Left of the Tumbleweed and under the Oasis Egg, the Pediment Egg rests in its cradle of sand... but on its side. Unlike its clutchmates, this egg is laying completely off kilter as if it was kicked from its position. Obviously, its strange positioning isn't a problem, otherwise Millieth would have set it straight to prevent any mishaps that may occur. Black like a starless sky, the Pediment Egg is awash with streaks of browns and dark greys, making it look like Kai had gotten a little too excited with a set of earthy finger paints. Slightly colder in temperature than the others, this egg is almost completely smooth. No sandy roughness can be found. And the emotions? Well... the best thing to describe them is silly. Excitement and nonsense spew from this egg, offering little chance to be anything but around it. Its definately the most cheerful of the lot.
The CLIFFBUSH Egg: Massive in size, this egg dwarfs all of the others in the clutch. Brilliant gold, it shimmers brightly in the dull light of the hatching grounds. But the gold is not solid, no, it too has a few patterns that color the shell. Near the very top of the egg five large streaks of off white cluster, vaguely forming the shape of petals pressed together. Cascading down the egg like rain, are similarly colored shapes although these ones can more be likened to rosettes than flowers. Its quite obvious that this particular egg is the most eye catching of the clutch... as well as the most heavily guarded by the Mother. In range of talons and a set of unforgiving jaws. She lets no one near this egg, with the exception of Her's and Kai. The Queen will hurt anyone who tries to get close, and during the touching she will only let one female approach at a time. No males at all. Not only because of how valuable the dragon inside is, but also how very fragile the shell of the Cliffbush Egg is. When touched the Egg gives of gentle, unjudging emotions. Candidates will come away with a positive attitude whether they want to be, or not.
The DATURA Egg: A very faded shade of purple, the Datura Egg sits as the top of the diamond, directly parallel and below the well guarded Cliffbush Egg. It too has white markings. The three markings are perfectly set equidistant from each other, but no matter where you look they seem to be mesmerizing. Five wisps of white radiate from around a single point in a circle, growing thinner in width the farther they extend from the middle. A light grey color creates a shadowing effect which makes the patterns look three dimensional, as if they had been stuck on with glue to the out side of the shell. Despite being so close to her, Millieth doesn't seem to pay much attention to this medium sized egg. Lack of interest isn't the answer, but the fact that the Datura Egg has an incredibly thick shell. She doesn't have to worry. When a candidate puts a hand on this particular egg they will feel... nothing. Only the extremely sensitive will be able to gleam the faintest traces of slumber from the Dragonette. And perhaps rarely, the traces of an almost alien intelligence. The thick shell is probably interfering.
The OASIS Egg: Located under the Loess egg and officially part of the lower half of the diamond, the Oasis Egg sits in a reclined position against a heap of sand. Make sure not to over look this egg, for it almost blends in with the sand around it. Three-fourths of the Oasis Egg is a dry, tan color, making it look as though it were buried rather than resting comfortably on top of its shallow hole. While in contrast, the last fourth of the egg takes the appearance of a brilliantly blue oval. Small green star-bursts encircle the blue, much like trees around a pond. The Oasis egg is a bit particular... touch it on it's tan portions and the candidate will feel a blatant pulse of being ignored, while if the blue oval is touched, a softer emotion will emerge. Offering refuge, like a harbor in a storm or an oasis in a desert.
The HOODOO Egg: Off to the left and near Millieth's tail, the Hoodoo Egg sits left of the Datura Egg. The smallest of the larger eggs, it sits in the top part of the diamond. Tilted so that most of the shell can be seen the Hoodoo Egg isn't flashy or awe inspiring, its actually the most plain looking of them all. The base of the egg looks like its been dusted with rust, the reddish brown color radiated up the sides of the Hoodoo egg and gradually ease into a reddish grey. Lines of darker rust cut through the gradient at random intervals, making it look as if the egg was made up of layers of rock. The texture of the shell is slightly rough and can be compared to a worn out piece of sandpaper. But despite the desolate look it gives off, the Hoodoo egg is warm to the touch like a sun heated rock. The emotions inside don't pale in comparison, this egg is extremely passionate. Everything it sends out seems to be amplified by ten. Make sure you don't make the Hoodoo Egg agitated.
The JUNIPER Egg: An ashy grey in appearance, the Juniper Egg sits parallel to the Oasis Egg and directly under the Ocotillo Egg, officially making this small egg part of the clutch's lower half. Although not particularly pretty in color, this egg makes up for it with it's pattern. The dark ash of the shell is frequently disturbed by wisps of lighter grey, giving it the appearance of smoke, while the occasional darker strands make it look almost like tree bark. Near the very top of the egg, small, pale circlets of green are cradled by summarily darker green lines which cluster closely together. The Juniper Egg is rough and extremely warm to the touch, like a rock that has sat out all day under the harsh rays of the sun. Perhaps because of its dismal appearance and shell temperature, one would think this egg would be unwelcoming to all who approach it. While in truth, its more than happy to receive those who visit. Simple happiness is whats found of the Juniper Egg.
The LOESS Egg: The second largest egg in the clutch (although terribly dwarfed by the massive Cliffbush Egg), the Loess Egg takes its rightful position in the top of the Diamond under the Hoodoo Egg. Like some of its clutch mates, the colors of this egg are pale but noticeable. Seven, horizontal bands run around the circumference of the shell, getting darker the closer they are to the middle. The first band is a pastel green and is the thinest of the lot, the width being no more than half of a fingernail. The next two layers are of a sandy tan color, while the next three comprise of a very rust like red, almost mimicking the Hoodoo Egg's coloration. The final and thickest band, returns to the sandy tan color, although noticeably a few hues lighter than the previous layers. The Loess Egg also gives off that earthy feel, although the shell itself is a bit rough to the touch. Unlike the Humus Egg, this large one offers up a matching emotion. A gentle and stable stream of pleasantness will be offered to the candidate, but maybe, the most sensitive of wo/men may be able to feel... something else that may throw some doubts as to the sincerity of the feeling.
The OCOTILLO Egg: One of the smaller eggs, the Ocotillo Egg has a spot on the right side of the diamond's bottom half. It sits directly below the Humus Egg. Definitely the darkest of the clutch it stands out among its bright kin. The base for the Ocotillo egg is white, but, honestly no one can tell. Thick black lines stretch up like vines toward the top of the egg, stopping just short of reaching the crown. Smaller, dark green lines stick out of the sides of these lines making it look like they have a coat of fur. So precise looking are these lines that one can just imagine running their fingers over soft bristles when they touch the shell. Bright red star bursts decorate the tips of the black streaks and a few can even be found near the base where some of the lines stop prematurely. Needless to say the Ocotillo Egg is one that you can spend a while looking at and not get bored. Just like the Dragon inside won't get bored with people touching it. Women are treated to an open feeling of friendship, perhaps dabbled with an attentive alertness. While men are offered something far more coy, sometimes one of the males may even sense something flirtatious.
The HUMUS Egg: Directly to the right of the Datura Egg, the Humus Egg sits with no lean or tilt instead looking like it is constantly at Attention. Being one of the larger eggs, its takes up a place in the upper half of the diamond although by far, it does not match the Loess Egg. The colors that make up the shell can only be called a cacophony of Browns and blacks, looking like a pile of newly dug dirt. The darker flecks and lines take the place of sticks and pebbles while the lighter shades copy the look of the soil itself. There are one or two small speckles of green, leaves perhaps if one was to name them, but they are few and in between. Buried, if you will. Overall the Humus Egg has a warm and earthy tone, attracting many to it without much flash or pizazz. Although it might look inviting, there is a briskness about the dragonette that may startle those who touch the egg. A mixture of fiery passion and cold indifference will leave the candidate more confused than they were to begin with. Leave your hand on too long and the Humus Egg will pull away.
The TUMBLEWEED Egg: The smallest of the Desert Clutch, this little egg makes the bottom most tip of the diamond. Resting ontop of the sand, the Tumbleweed Egg is almost perfectly spherical. Its a good thing the hatching sands aren't slanted, or this egg would just simply roll away. The base color of the Tumbleweed Egg can be compaired to that of a chicken's, although the feel of the shell is rougher in contrast. But what is most interesting about this particular egg is the brown lines that twist and curl around the entirety of the shell. Seemingly to radiate from the bottom of the egg, the lines twist and curl upward like barren branches seeking sunlight. The tips of these lines end at no particular place, never stopping in the same area as another and making it look as if the lines were one giant knot. Positive energy seems to radiate from this little egg, becareful, you might simply get sucked into the whirlwind of sunlight.
