Dementia and Nocturne present:
[shadow=black,left,300]Throne Egg[/shadow]
Easily the largest egg of the entire clutch, it is a deep jade that seems to absorb any and all light that touches it. A faint, golden glow all its own pulsates slowly from within, like a deep, langorous heartbeat. If you should allow yourself to be drawn into it, you'll find that the beating of your heart seems to be slowing to match its tempo. All around you, creatures move to the same dull throb, and, as you watch, the throbbing slows. Slows. Slows until it becomes almost painful to wait between each pulse...Here, only physical touch can draw the observer out of the egg's trance.
[shadow=black,left,300]Pestilence Egg[/shadow]
This egg rivals the Seal Egg for smallest in size, and at first glance is composed of a single shade of medium tan. As your eyes move past it, however, it seems like the egg just - moved. In fact, the shell is not solid tan, but rather sports many fine, nearly microscopic lines a shade darker and lighter than the base color. Focusing on one spot on the egg acts like an optical illusion, making the rest of the egg's surface seem to swarm and swirl with invisible insects. Anyone who stares too long at the Pestilence Egg is bound to get a throbbing headache. Nevertheless, it gives off a welcoming aura, and one can't help but think its occupant delights in the pain it causes.
[shadow=black,left,300]War Egg[/shadow]
Though it is of an average size for eggs in this clutch, the War Egg is anything but average in appearance. A patchwork of crimsons, reds, oranges and blacks clash in a chaotic maelstrom that rages across the surface of the shell. Jagged spears of vibrant green and electric blue slash across the dark backdrop at random intervals, leaving starbursts of white wherever the two colors happen to cross. Upon looking at it, if you allow your eyes to flow naturally in the direction of the markings, you can almost discern a story from the egg. A story that changes every time, depending on the eye's starting point.
[shadow=black,left,300]Seal Egg[/shadow]
This tiny egg follows the theme of being predominately one single color. That is, however, the only similarity it shares with the rest of the eggs. Located dead center, its hue is an earthy, ochre red. It has no markings whatsoever, and gives off no emotions or auras. This isn't to say that the egg is boring. In fact, it is a misshapen, vaguely oblong lump. Anyone forced to describe it would do well to say it resembles a half-melted ball of sealing wax. There is nothing smooth about this egg, the highly varied texture making up for lack of color. Pockmarks, a huge dent in one side and hardened bubbles make this egg a curiosity to behold.
[shadow=black,left,300]Famine Egg[/shadow]
This egg has a notably thinner shell than the others, despite the fact that it's a respectable size compared to the eggs that make up the rest of the clutch. It is a dark, granular brown, textured to the touch. The small bumps and speckles help to conceal the thin, hairline fractures radiating all over the surface of the shell. While it may not be the most visually interesting egg of the clutch, its aura reaches out and snares anyone who happens to glance its way with a demanding, voracious hunger. It leans against the much smaller Seal Egg at the center of the clutch.
[shadow=black,left,300]Death Egg[/shadow]
Colored a sickly yellow, alone of all the eggs this one visibly puslates as if the egg itself were breathing. Indeed, it has no use for prying eyes, and emits a repelling aura strong enough that any who touch it will feel a shock and immediately find bile rising in their throats. Unfortunately, this egg tries a little too hard to drive off the curious. The bulging, twisted veins of ghastly green winding over the shell's surface are certainly repulsive, but it tends to have the effect of a nasty aerial accident. You want to look away. Truly, you do. You just...can't.
[shadow=black,left,300]Bowl Egg[/shadow]
For all that this clutch has quite the collection of disturbing and creepy eggs, there is one pleasant on the eye. Average in size, perfectly smooth and unblemished, the egg is a pure white with subtle blue and green shadings that seem to chase each other across the surface of the shell in ever-changing displays of dancing hues. It's such an eye-catching little egg that Dementia has displayed it prominently at the forefront of her clutch (perhaps to draw attention away from some of the more grotesque ones). Of course, if you stare at it long enough, you can't help but get the impression that the shifting colors are coming from inside the egg...
