Lesson Two:
Classroom: Bonding Exercises; Advanced Care for Growing Dragonets Training Field: Firestone Familiarization (Riders); Chain & Toss Empty Bags (Riders); Endurance, Strength & Wind Exercises (Dragonets)
((For the sake of maybe actually finishing a lesson, and not boring everyone to death, this starts part way though the lesson. So far there has been a verbal review of the last lesson and a lecture on dragon care.))
Darya moved among the desks, dropping sheets of notes in front of each weyrling. ‘These sheets contain notes on the most important parts of this lesson and the last lesson. There’s a dragon anatomy diagram in there too, as well as a list of teaching ballads that you might want to look up if you don’t already know them, I expect you will, most of them are rather commonly sung and taught.’ If there was anyone in the class who couldn’t read Darya wasn’t aware of it, she just wanted to hand the paperwork around a bit, it had backfired rather badly as she’d ended up writing out everything except the anatomy diagrams herself because she’d wanted them as legible as possible. ‘If you can’t remember things, study them, there’ll be tests.’ Darya threatened, though in reality she’d be handing out as few tests as possible so she wouldn’t have to mark them.
‘Now that’s out of the way, we come to the part of the lesson you might find a little more interesting. It’s time for some bonding exercises, which means hide and seek, I’ve hidden various items around the weyrling barracks, both inside and out, and you lot get to find them. There is, of course, a catch with this, and that’s that you humans get to be blindfolded while your dragons do the looking. Of course they’ll need you along since they can’t carry all that stuff by themselves. Which means you dragons will have to guide your riders around, either by telling them where to go or letting them use your eyes.’ Darya was sure any scrapes and bruises to their riders would be enough punishment for both sides of uncooperative pairs.
‘That pretty much covers it. Riders come and get a blindfold, and everyone bring me one each of these items. No cheating. Enjoy it because next part of the lesson is bound to be more boring.’ As she spoke Darya picked up a basket full of tightly woven black cloth strips from the floor and indicated a row of objects on one of the front desks, one wine bottle (empty), one red ribbon, one large serving spoon, and one sock. Duplicate items weren’t very well hidden, the point was to force the weyrling pairs to work together, not to make them hunt high and low for things. If she wanted to do that there wouldn’t be any duplicates at all.
Cr'oph and Bronze Mavenath R'ven and Brown Trilaranth Dy'shi and Blue Chakraith L'nu and Blue Paglieth J'naes and Blue Barienoth J'ash and Blue Craivaruth K'lin and Blue Picarth Casta and Green Posilanth Dyudahlii and Green Nemmalorith Erilena and Green Feyrianth Cer'c and Green Harmonyth Kiana and Green Tuelzanth X'rx and Green Eveyth

Notes. Dy'shi picked up his sheet and grimaced slightly. Reading was still hard for him, though he'd improved with Meagen's tutelage and his own bumbling attempts during what little spare time he had as a new weyrling. He could study this sheet since he knew what it was about so unfamiliar words might be easier but it didn't mean he'd like doing it. He also heard her comment about tests and he groaned slightly.
His spirits didn't stay low for long. A game. That's what he saw the treasure hunt as. With Chakraith there would be no troubles, blindfold or no blindfold. He hadn't expected lessons to actually be fun. Even before Darya had finished telling them to get a blindfold he was out of his seat and eagerly approached the desk. The bag was still in the weyrlingmaster's hand when he pulled out his blindfold, oblivious to any commotion he might have been making. A game!
Chakraith was still laying near the desk Hers had been using, contemplating the task. It was a simple one and the aim was obvious. It was not just a game. She didn't mention this to Hers though. No need to lower his high spirits. The lecture and the thing the weyrlingmaster had put in front of Dy'shi had done that well enough. She eyed the objects they were searching for and committed them to memory. In his excitement Hers was likely to forget. On top of that he wouldn't be able to see the objects unless they shared vision. She had ideas of how to do that but it may not work out.
Dy'shi had a bit of trouble tying on the blindfold at first but he managed to get it on and he felt for his blue. Empty air, empty air, dragon head. Chakraith had easily made her way to him when she sensed his need of her. He was being awfully quick today. Shall we go Dy'shiMine? She flashed him an image of the doorway and she felt his puzzlement. That was great but he didn't know which way that was... You can tell which direction it is by which way I'm looking at. "Makes sense," he murmured. And then the pair was out of the classroom and searching for what they needed.

L'nu looked forlornly down at the parchment when it landed in front of him. He was in so much deep trouble ... he didn't know how to read. Identifying a few letters was the best he had. It was kind of like the rest of his skills - if it didn't involve forming clay into wares, he didn't know it. Swimming, reading ... oh Faranth was he in trouble. A diagram? He perked up at the mention of that and went sifting through the stack before him looking for the picture. Pictures he could read!
Paglieth heaved a weary sigh, head resting on L'nu's thigh for the moment, a lot like a large dog would, eyes squeezed shut as he really didn't want to be awake right now. Really really.
L'nu took a quick peek around the room to see who was reading their papers ... maybe he could get someone to teach him to read... discreetly of course. It was rather embarrassing to suddenly find one's self smack in the middle of a crowd of so-called peers and be the only one unable to read. Disconcerting, that.
His attention was drawn back to Darya, though, as he tried to pay attention to what she was saying. Realizing that it was something to do with their dragons, he nudged Paglieth, trying to get him to wake up. Pay attention! This could either be fun - or disastrous, I think. He thought at the blue.
What? came the drowsy answer as Paglieth picked up his head and blinked a few times blearily. Biting his upper lip in trepidation, L'nu proceeded as instructed to get his blindfold. There was no getting around it - he was apprehensive about the whole deal. Paglieth was sleepy!!

Cr’oph idly scanned the notes. Nothing really new to him. If anything Benden trained their candidates very well and besides he had been left standing enough that he had actually apprenticed to a few riders. Dragon anatomy and such wasn’t new at all to him. Mavenath was far more interested in the notes than he and it was almost second nature to let the bronze view the papers through his eyes, The red head was getting into serious mode now. If he was to be a bronzerider he was going to do it right. He felt his dragon’s happy affirmation of that fact like alight brush on his mind. The bronze weyrling’s attention shifted back to Darya as she began speaking again. Hmm blindfold exercises huh? He heard rather than felt his dragon’s amused rumble. Oh fun I get to run you into things now. The bronze replied only half joking. Don’t you dare. Cr’oph returned with a mild glare. In response he got a nudge to his elbow. Come now minelove you don’t really think I would purposely hurt you. Do you? The mock reproach in the tone caused the weyrling to playfully shove at the bronze head. Come on you lug. Lets show them all how it’s done. Your not prince for nothing eh.
Amusement whirling through his eyes the bronze dipped his head in a nod and watched lazily as his bonded rose to receive his blindfold. Securing it tightly to his head Cr'oph relaxed and started to feel rather than see the world around him. Blindfolded fighting was something he learned at Benden. How to fight in darkness when the only clue to you opponents whereabouts was there breathing and body movements. However His sight and smell was not what was required, and he reached out instinctively for Mave. Finding him he allowed the bronze to wrap his mind around his own. The flood of senses that hit him was staggering and he waited a moment until they could be sorted out. The room came into view and swung slightly as Mavenath focused on the door. Ready Crymine? Let us show them all how such a thing is done. Rising fluidly from his spot the bronze strode to his bonded and nudged his side. Forward. Cr’oph nodded and strode forward confidently his bronze stepping at his side. It was hard not to be confident with the immense waves on confidence wafting off of Mavenath.
~~~~
Erilena tried to focus on the papers ahead of her, but such a thing was difficult with Feyrianth being distracted by everything that moved. Fey love. Relax and pay attention please. We can play later. It is work time now darling. Leo, I am sure, would love to play with you later. The greenrider had opted to leave her new pet at home. With his mobile dysfunction it was near impossible for the blue to follow anyway and she had left him giggling on her bed.
The small four winged green’s eyes slowed their whirling and she obediently sat as Darya began to explain. Her words caused a bit of unease with Erilena. Blindfolded and led by Fey? Oh she adored her green but…letting her lead her was another story. Feyrianth on the other hand was beyond excited. Oh this game sounds so fun! Like hide and seek. Don’t worry Lenamine. Your Fey will take very good care of you. The enthusiastic words where delivered with a nuzzle and Erilena wouldn’t help the smile. “I know you will Fey.”
When her turn came her hand barely shook as she took the blindfold. Tying it tightly around her eyes Erilena carefully made her way back to Feyrianth, her feet feeling the way forward. A nuzzle greeted her as she reached Feyrianth. Ok Lenamine. (Erilena found it beyond amusing that her dragon had picked up the nickname as well.) Like a sudden dousing in cold water, Feyrianth’s mind meshed with hers. At first Erilena was entirely disoriented, even a bit dizzy, then the images became sharper. Ok I think I am ready now. Lead the way love. Crooning Feyrianth started forward, her body touching her bonded’s at all times in an attempt to reassure her.
Ah. Look. Squiggles he didn't understand. X'rx squinted at the paper, wondering if that would suddenly give him a profound revelation. Doubtful, but one never could tell. Nope, squinting just made them look...more blurry. Eyelashes. Or had one fallen in his eye? He rubbed at it, wincing slightly as Eveyth's claws accidentally nicked his leg as she reared up against him to see if she could make out the notes. Careful, Evvie, he reminded mildly. She licked his chin in acknowledgment. We should tell the Azrath's that the squi- No, we shouldn't. Why not? She helped before. I'm working on it with Dy. Anyway, it's not like she can just say to dig around in my head and I'll suddenly be able to read. Why not? Reading isn't the same, Evvie. It's something that has to be learned. Like cooking. You're good at cooking. Somehow, he thought the point had been missed. Fortunately, Darya provided a good distraction, and Eveyth let the topic drop.
Now that she wasn't paying attention to him...he rubbed at the stickiness on his chin with a sleeve. Saliva. Kind of...gross.
Eveyth was up and skittering for the box immediately, winding in and out of bodies. They'd find these things, yes, and before everyone else! She intended to win, she did. Only when she got there did she find it was high, and short of knocking it over and causing a mess, she kind of needed the lazy lump of lard still in his seat. Not that she thought this with anything less than utmost affection...X'rxMiiiine you will make us looose.
The pair set off as fast as Eveyth could get them going, the dragon all too eager. But the pictures made X'rx nauseous, and Eveyth's directions had a tendency of not noticing obstacles, which in turn made the greenrider more cautious lest he trip and break himself. Frustrated, she tried a new tact. No pictures. No verbal directions. Simply thought of where she was going in that wordless space between consciousness and subconsciousness. It really shouldn't have been surprising that this worked best for them, either. Wordless thoughts and emotions had been the first level of communication they had, and soon Eveyth was leading the way at a trot, X'rx's footsteps sure behind her.
They are not hidden so very well, X'rxMine. This game is too easy. At which point he stumbled over a piece of furniture and they went back to silence. Apparently multitasking was still beyond Hers.
Do humans eventually lose their eye sight?
R'ven almost choked as he reached for his own blindfold. He shuffled out of the way of the other students and looked down at the fawn colored dragon peering curiously up at him. It was hard to decide whether or not Trilaranth was being serious with the question. "No, tha–" –that's not what this is about.
If you held onto my tail, or wing tip, I could just walk us there. R'ven chuckled softly to himself as he tied the fabric around his eyes, pushing it up slightly to observe the other weyrlings as they began to make their way out of the classroom. He leaned back against one of the desks, intent to wait to avoid any collisions. The papers, none of which he could read aside from the visual diagram, were folded vertically and sticking out the side of his pocket. It's a bonding thing, so I think this is more a trust exercise. Do you trust me? Tril..
R'ven sent a mock scolding look down at the brown, who in turn rumbled back at him in amusement, tail tip flicking playfully through the air. The brown sent over the image of the serving spoon, We could find those in the kitchen. No cheating. It's an alternative, easier, and we would have to get there by the same means. Would avoid tripping– No. Why don't you just stay here and trust me to go fetch one of these items.
Reaching down, R'ven lightly bobbed the top of Trilaranth's head. Follow the rules. He situated the blindfold over his eyes, adjusting it to make sure he couldn't see. How useful would I be if I just mindlessly followed orders. It's just an exercise, Tril. I'm exercising my mind, R'ven. Enough already. I get it, let's go already.
An amused swirl colored Trilaranth's eyes, he stood and with a mental nudging began leading R'ven out of the classroom. It was awfully tempting to lead his bonded toward the kitchens, or anywhere else aside from the barracks. Briefly, as they idled in the hallway, Trilaranth wondered if his would knock the other humans down if they collided.
"I can feel you plotting." Plotting the best direction to go, mine. "Mhm.."
R'ven responded to the soft brushes to his mind – they were delicate nudges that didn't really fit Trilaranth's gruff exterior.. and, well, interior. It was almost as if the brown was afraid of pushing too hard. Mulling to himself, R'ven didn't feel the last mental nudge and his shin found one of the bedside trunks. A startled curse filled the room before R'ven clamped down on the reaction. A snicker of a laugh came across the bond. So glad you're amused. Not my fault if you don't listen.
Cer’c snatched the notes before it could hit the table and clutched it tightly. The lesson itself was interesting enough, but the mention of tests stirred up a pang of panic. He hated memorizing things. Why can’t they carry a cheatsheet around? I mean, as long as he got it right does it really matter if he remembered everything? Surely it would become habitual over time!
Harmonyth peered at the strange human scrawls, cocking her head to the side. Is something scary written on there?
No no, he replied as he hastily folded up the sheets and stuffed them in his coat pocket. He hated reading, too, but at least now he had a place to store all these notes. In a fake book, no less. Brushing aside these troublesome thought, he turned and smiled broadly at her. Let’s start! This game sounds fun!
They rose and shuffled to the front of the room to retrieve a blindfold. While many of his fellow classmates were experiencing varying degrees of nervousness about the exercise, Cer’c didn’t think far enough to consider that he would be placing his trust on his little green. Or rather, he didn’t doubt at all that he could trust her fully. Harmonyth, in turn, lingered close to Cer’c side, gently nuzzling the very slight curve of his waist as he lifted both arms to secure the blindfold over his eyes.
“Okay,” he said aloud and pointed enthusiastically towards where he believed the door to be (it was 45 degrees to his right). “Let’s go!”
Harmonyth regarded her human curiously, then nudged him in the right direction and carefully sent him an image of the door. Cer’c giggled then took a step only to have his smile wavered slightly. He suddenly felt a little nauseous. Strange, considering she had already done something similar while in the crèche. Perhaps it was because they were now moving, or maybe it was because he had to rely solely on the green’s eyes. He staggered a bit and Harmonyth quickly nuzzled her head under his hand so that he could wrap his palm over one of her knobby horns.
“Whoa…”
Cer’clove? Are you all right?
Heh. This will take some getting used to. The boy smiled, his lips curling into a bit of a mischievous smirk much to Harmonyth’s confusion. Imagine the spying he could do with this ability! Well, once he got used to it. He slid his hand from her horns to rest on the back of her head, inadvertently drawing her closer in the process. Ready. Go go go!
The green was still a touch skeptical, but began moving forward. She kept her head straight and eyes steady on their desired path. If she needed to make any movements with her head, she was sure to do so slowly. Cer’c concentrated on the images, feeling better as they progressed out the door and along the hallways. They moved at a somewhat leisurely pace until he felt confident enough and urged Harmonyth to walk faster. After a few minutes, Harmonyth opted to walk slightly behind Cer’c. He couldn’t use her as a physical guide then, of course, but it allowed him to see both himself and what was in front of him as they half walked, half jogged.
Suddenly, Cer’c stopped and pointed to the side while turning his head. Harmonyth looked that way as well, and they made the turn…
J'ash gulped as he put on the blindfold, feeling worried but excited at the same time. Craivaruth should be performing at his best, since he'd just recharged some energy by means of organs and bone marrow. Yum.
His body tingled with dizziness as he could suddenly see - without his eyes! What an odd sensation! His mouth slightly agape, Craivaruth looked around the room for him, giving him some time to adjust to the different way dragons saw things.
"Oh... This is going to be fun," and yes, it is possible to be sarcastic and non-sarcastic at the same time. Of course it will be, J'ashmine! I won't let anything happen to you.
Eyes swirling an azure blue, Craivaruth took a few steps forward. With the note sheet folded and tucked into a pocket, the gray-eyed young adult slowly began to follow. The blue-green dragonet snickered mentally as he felt His feel less anxious every second. Think you're so pro already? J'ash grinned as he began to walk confidently towards the door that Craivaruth was watching indicatively. It looked like it was right in front of him, so it was! Wasn't it?
"Yeah! I got this, I got this-" and he smacked right into the wall next to the door. Recoiling back in surprise, he almost tripped over a chair. "Ahh!" He managed to regain his balance before embarrassing himself any further. He winced; bashing into a solid surface nose-first was rather painful. Face beet red, J'ash rubbed his nose with a pout gracing his mouth. Craivaruth was beyond amused. Don't lose confidence, but don't get ahead of yourself. Stay close to me and we'll take it slow for a while.
Still pouting, J'ash shuffled forward towards his dragonet, hands carefully extended - just in case there was something there to crash into. Lesson learned: it never hurt to be overly cautious!
Darya watched her class leave the room with faint amusement, most of the dragons seemed confident but their human partners seemed apprehensive for the most part. Well, either they’d get over it or they’d end up with bruises. Either way they were going to find it more interesting than the next part of the lesson…
Azrath, get them to meet us outside when they’ve got everything. Darya followed the last students from the room as silently as possible and skirted around them on her way outside. Yes they were really going to find this part of the lesson annoying, Darya thought, although possibly some of them would be relived to find nothing more disturbing than firestone under the bloodstained canvas sheet this time. Well the dragons would probably be disappointed but they’d be even more upset when they found they had their own lesson work for this part of the day, namely seeing Azrath and doing some wing exercises while their riders got to learn about firestone.
This is why they don’t like you, you evil woman.
I’m not paid by popularity Azrath, I don’t care if they hate me as much I hate this job. Now, wasn’t there a message you were suppose to be passing on?
Was there? Azrath’s voice dripped innocence.
I’m not being nice to them, I’m not even nice to the people I do like. Now are you telling them or am I going around and shouting the news?
Mine asks that you all come to the train field once you’ve found all the items. Azrath dutifully projected into the mind of every dragon and rider in the class, regardless of whether they’d attended the lesson or not.
Finding what they needed had been extremely easy and Cr’oph was a bit surprised that it had been such. Why are you surprised? Mavenath interjected smoothly. We are obviously a superior pairing. The red head smiled at that and lowered his unoccupied hand to rub the bronze’s eye ridge. I suppose we are. Prancing to the training field as bidden the bronze nudged his. I think you can take the blindfold off now. We have found all the items after all.
The red head hesitated for only a moment before laying the objects at his feet and untying the blindfold. Folding it neatly, he placed it by the other items before idly leaning against his dragon. Now what? Mavenath rumbled encouragement to his other siblings before turning his attention back to his bonded. We wait of course.
Turning his attention back to Darya, Cr’oph examined her. He kinda liked his teacher. She wasn’t really boring. It wasn’t her fault he already knew most of this stuff after all.
~~~
Finding all of the objects sure had been an adventure. Thanks to Fey and her short attention span. (omg was that a shiny?) Needless to say, Erilena ended up with a few bruises but all and all the greenrider was confident that they had preformed well enough. As she headed to the training field with the rest of her classmates he wondered what the rest of the lesson would entail. Hopefully it wouldn’t be anything else that required bruising.
Feyrianth was in good spirits as they approached the field and she nuzzled hers affectionately. Erilena smiled at the contect as she untied the blindfold and waited with the rest of the class. The next section of lessons should be starting soon. The bloodstained sheet to her left caught her attention. Surely they couldn’t be diving into more slaughtered heardbeasts? Oh more food in class? That would be good. I am a bit hungry. The green rider stroked her hatchling’s head. Of course you are. Lunch time is coming soon enough darling. Pay attention now.

Dy'shi was smiling broadly despite not being able to see anything through his own eyes. Seeing things as Chakraith did was interesting and the task wasn't hard. Darya hadn't been lying when she said the objects were easy to find. Upon finding the last one he removed his blindfold and rubbed at his ankle. He'd managed to bash it against something while walking and it was smarting. Chakraith touched her nose to it gently and said, I am sorry, Dy'shiMine. I let you get hurt.
He could never blame Chakraith for his silliness. It had been his fault when he'd strayed from the blue, trusting more what he remembered of the barracks than her vision that once. Suffice it to say he'd learned his lesson. Azrath interjected his thoughts will the news that they'd be meeting at the training field next. "Did he say what to do with these things?" Nothing about that. Maybe they're needed for the next part of the lesson? Both of them rather doubted that but he carried them out with him anyways.
Setting the items at his feet Dy'shi looked apprehensively at the bloody fabric covering the next part of the lesson. Surely they didn't need to have another lesson with dead bodies? He'd learned quite a bit more about the nutrition of a herdbeast for a dragon than he ever wanted. The blue was a little more interested in what was under the sheets. It made no sense for it to be food again. They'd already covered that.

L'nu gave Paglieth a doubtful look, but donned the blindfold anyway. Having hesitated such, he had seen how the rest were doing. It didn't look fun, to be sure. But there were a few who were managing remarkably well. Cr'oph for one ... L'nu was impressed, and hoped he and Paglieth could do as well. Hah. Fat chance of that, but a boy could hope. He had to be good at something, to make up for not being able to read!
Blinded by the fold, he blinked a few times in darkness. Okay. Now what? He groped around in front of him, until he felt Paglieth brush against his mind. L'nu grasped onto that, grateful for the silent support. But how was this supposed to help him find stuff? Maybe Paglieth was going to give him verbal directions? Confused as he was, he was rather shocked when Paglieth wormed a bit closer to him, mentally, and started showing him ... pictures?
L'nu's face lit up like a light tower. How cool! He didn't know Paglieth could do that!! Can you see what I see, too? He asked, impressed.
Only when you show me. Paglieth answered, as the field of view swayed and changed. Paglieth had shifted and looked a different direction.
This was too cool... pictures was something L'nu could do. Pictures he was good at. Especially mental pictures. How else to craft a piece of useful art from a lump of mushy clay? However, having his perspective shifted to a point not on the front of his head - and worse - down by his knees, was a tad disorienting. Not to mention when the view turned when he didn't. What shocked him most was when Paglieth looked at him.
HOW WEIRD.
"So that's what I look like, to you!"
Paglieth snorted, and got to his feet. We have things to find.
"Right, right... um..." L'nu felt around him a bit, but found nothing but open air. "Alright. I think I know how to do this... watch me. No! Don't look that way. I can't walk where you walk. Watch me." L'nu insisted. When Paglieth obliged, L'nu tried out watching himself move. Huh. Neat! It only took a few moments of reorientation (it wasn't quite like looking in a mirror at all), he was moving about freely, deftly dodging desk corners and all. But only as long as Paglieth was watching him, and where he was going.
The view was a tad jolting, sometimes, as Paglieth's focus would shift from the area ahead, to L'nu in general, back to the area ahead, and then up at L'nu's face. Quite odd, that. It was starting to give L'nu a headache as his eyes strained uselessly to control where he was 'looking'. "C'mon! Gimme a break, here!"
Their minds nestled closer together, and soon they were operating as one, the one looking where the other needed to see, all while also navigating for himself. Quickly, they became quite good at becoming one entity, moving in accordance with each other like two parts of a well-oiled machine.
Finding the items was easy enough, so was reaching out and picking them up. That collected, L'nu headed for the doorway, scooting around classmates as he went. Paglieth trotted along with him, not even having to pass on the message. As enmeshed as they were, L'nu had heard it at the same time Paglieth had. Their senses began to blurr together into one, making a complete picture of their surroundings, much the same way as two ears on a single head did. The data matched.
Arriving on the field, L'nu and Paglieth looked around, not really sure what to do with the collected items. This was just ... so neat.

Dyu was glad that her mother had taught her how to read, she noticed that many of the other students seemed to struggle with the handouts. She thought that maybe she could offer to teach someone, that might be a way to branch out and try to socialize.
The assigned task seemed like it would be fun and Nemmalorith was rearing to go. We'll show them Dyumine, that we are the best pair out here. Don't get overconfident Nemmalove, we still have to figure out how to get me to see through your eyes. Humph! Doesn't matter, we will figure it out first, we WILL WIN! I see you haven't lost your competitive spirit Nemmalove, Dyu laughed. Come on let's go.
Dyu headed up to the table and tied on the blindfold, keeping in physical contact with Nemma as they tested out sharing Nemma's vision. The two headed out to complete the task.

With Nemma's competitive spirit driving them along, Dyu and Nemma figured out how to get Dyu to see through Nemma's eyes. Finding the objects was simple, Nemma had to only give a few mental commands when their shared vision failed a couple times. They only had one item left to find when the announcement to meet back at the training field was given.
Good, I see it, Nemma said as she spotted the last item. Let's hurry on back. Let's test out how this visions sharing works while running. Dyudahlii huffed in agreement, Nemma's competitiveness was rubbing off, it was fun to push one's self and test your strength. They grabbed the last object and took off in a run to the field. Dyu stumbled a bit when Nemma got too far ahead so the vision Dyu was receiving was a bit off. Nemmalove, you have to pace with me so I see the ground in front of me, don't get too far ahead.
Dyu stumbled only a couple more times as Nemma's eagerness to come in first made her get too far ahead, or when she quickly turned her head to see if she could see any of her clutch brothers and sisters. In no time at all they arrived on the field. ---
O.O.C.: Sorry, I'm very busy and have very little time to post, but am making every attempt to make an appearance.

Looking through a dragon's eyes was confusing, J'ash concluded. Sure, it was hella fun, but it was also like having an outer body experience. He would try to look one way and be refused a new mental image, and when he wanted to concentrate on something, Craivaruth would look elsewhere. It was frustrating, but there was a benefit. At least he could check and see if he had anything on his face after a meal, or if the wind had messed up his hair! And he didn't even have to carry around a mirror!
J'ash knew he would be bruised tomorrow. He was constantly getting better at this, but obviously it would take a while before he could act like he was using his own eyes instead.
An even stranger feeling is slipping and falling on one's ass and seeing a constant picture all the while. J'ash's face contorted as pain shot up his tailbone, having landed on rather hard ground. Craivaruth winced sympathetically and looked at what had tripped his bonded. The gray-eyed male sighed and reached forward viciously, picking up the empty wine bottle that he had slipped on. 'I guess I literally stumbled upon it, huh?' And he grinned at his blue-green companion.
J'ashmine, that was... awful. Craivaruth shook his head and waited for his battered partner to stand up before proceeding. No wonder you don't have a girlfriend... or boyfriend. "Hey! That was uncalled for-" Azrath announced that we are to go to the training field once we are done. With all four items in his arms, the sandy-haired man's slightly bloodly lips (from, yes, running into a tree) stretched into a smile. "Okay!" He strode towards the training field with Craivaruth at his side. Muttering, he added on, "I've had enough torture... I hope the next lesson won't be as painful." I hope so, too.

Boy and dragonet eventually made their way out into the training field with procured items in hand. The wine bottle with a red ribbon tied around its neck was snuggly tucked under Cer'c left arm while the wooden spoon had been stuffed into the sock, which dangled from Harmonyth's mouth. The greenweyrling was still blindfolded, finding this exercise to be spectacularly fun. Harmonyth, in turn, found Hers' enthusiasm quite amusing, a response which only drove Cer'c to try more bizarre things such as purposely leap from stairs or a raised platform. These antics didn't really please Harmonyth of course, so the ended up strolling towards Darya in a less than dramatic manner.
The bloodied fabric immediately piqued Harmonyth's interest as she settled down beside Hers. The shape of the pile was a little strange for food though, nor could she smell the familiar iron scent of fresh blood. What do you think is underneath that?
Cer'c pulled the blindfold off and staggered slightly at the sudden input of stimuli from his eyes bombarding the images sent from his green. He shook his head, and focused on the mysterious pile. Did she say it was going to be boring? He squinted at the Assistant Weyrling Master and her bonded, trying to recall the earlier part of the lesson but came up with a blank.
