Kiana took the notes, flipping through the pages and scanning over the information. She could admire the neatness of them, and the work that had gone into making them. They would certainly come in handy, and if there were going to be tests she'd make sure she was well prepared so that she did well. The anatomy diagram was paused over longest, as she studied the labels and tried to, in her mind, compare them to Tuelzanth's body. A small smile graced her lips as she did so. Yes, these notes would certainly come in handy! They were informative and well written. She would store them in her top drawer, along with other important papers and her journal.
Then, the lesson started, and she couldn't have been more surprised at how fun it sounded! Weyrlingmistress Darya was a tough cookie, and Kiana half wondered why she'd taken on the job to begin with. Had it been a request, perhaps, that she do so? If it was, then Darya must have not been to happy about it. Still, what if the woman was always like this, and she actually didn't mind teaching them? She wasn't sure which it was, but the exercise sounded like a lot of fun, and she was eager to be started. Agile and lithe little Tuelzanth would be very good, she figured, at locating things. The green was more eager to begin than even she was, her excitement causing her to bounce up and down in her eagerness. Kiana laughed as she went up to get a blindfold.
"Thank you," she admonished, as she took one and then walked back over to the small, pale green dragon. She secured it over her eyes tightly--no peeking!--and then took a deep breath. She was sure she might walk into a few things if not for seeing everything from Tuelzanth's point of view. Then, she had an idea, which Tuelzanth seemed only to delighted to comply with.
"'Zanth, I'm going to hold onto your tail so I don't trip or fall over anything, or bump into things," she told the green. This was plenty useful, since her small green had a very long, whippy tail. The dragon turned around and lifted her tail as Kiana took hold of he end, and the pair were off!
It might have taken longer if she had not decided to use the tail idea. She was sure she would have stumbled much more, and perhaps fallen a few times, if she had not chosen this course of action. As it was, she and her Weyrling partner managed to move at a decent pace, rather quickly, even. The ever self aware dragon made sure that Kiana never bumped into anything, sometimes using verbalization to make sure of it. Soon, Kiana had all the items in her arms, save the one in Tuelzanth's mouth, which was the red ribbon. The dragon pranced proudly back to where Darya waited in the training field, Kiana, still blindfolded, holding the end of her tail.
We got them all, see?[/color] Tuelzanth announced to both Weyrlingmistress and her blue proudly. They had made great time, too, so far as that went. Kiana undid the blindfold once she was in front of the Weyrlingmistress, blinking in the bright light, but smiling when she saw that they'd completed the hide and seek game, and how proud Tuelzanth looked.
