Crystoph eyed the injured darter with distaste. It looked like he felt. Worthless and broken. Hepaticath’s clutch had long since hatched and he was not among the weyrlings. Not because he had been rejected but because he had been unable to stand for impression. All due to some sharding accident involving a nasty feline. After his scars had healed, he had been struck down by the plague. He had survived. However lately the candidate had been contemplating why. His twin had gone and impressed and gone on with life without him. Crystoph had no one to keep him in line or make the days any less long and depressive.
With no friends to turn to Crystoph was extremely lonely and depressed, although he would never admit it. He had been pointedly avoiding his brother since he heard of his impression. To be fair his brother had not tried to reestablish contact either. True M’kai had Futh. Still the cutoff from the only person who knew him as well as he knew himself, and maybe better at times, was disheartening at best. The darter scrambled frantically away from the boy, useless wing dragging in the soft jungle undergrowth. With a cold methodical motion Crystoph drew his concealed blade and headed for the injured bird. “Shall I end your misery?” The question was rhetorical. Surely the darter could not speak. Still a small part of him felt like it deserved at least a small inkling to it’s fate.

"This is where the critter talks, you fall over and impale yourself on your own blade in shock, and the universe laughs at you."
The words belonged to the tall blonde...thing. They were spoken at such a soft volume that pitch was hard to determine, the androgynous nature of the wherhandler's face further compounded by the exceedingly long braid of curls that drew out the starker planes in the long face. Women weren't typically so tall, and generally had some curves, but men didn't tend to be that slender and graceful...or that pretty in the face, either. (Not to mention the hair.) He was, of course, a he, but even his nickname of 'Demi' tended toward ambiguity.
Dmitri suppressed a yawn, leaning against the tree that he'd passed countless times in his night excursions with Dmisk. "Maybe it likes being miserable. Faranth knows there are enough of those around to put anyone in a foul mood." As Dmitri had been a candidate when Cristoph was ill, he didn't know him. Nor had he come early enough to know his twin. To the harper-turned-wherling the boy was simply another nameless candidate. And Dmitri was in a foul enough mood given that he couldn't seem to get himself to sleep (thus being out and about at this hour.) At least it wasn't a chronic problem.
It most definitely was annoying, though.
"Well, are you going to kill it, or just stand there looking dumb?" Pleasant was Dmitri. Oh, he was capable of charming someone if he bothered to ply his mind at it, but why should he? So much effort.

Dyudahlii froze when she noticed what made her canines, Bawnii and Klaiid, cease their chase. No more then five minutes ago they just took off running, not heeding her commands to stop. Curiosity caused her to follow, they had never reacted to anything so strangely before. Now she realized what made this chase so different; for once, she didn't know what to do. She was shocked to say the least, fear urged her to flee while her curiosity held her steady. She couldn't leave, not until her curiosity was satiated. The only people she knew were her parents. She has never seen others and now there were two of them, no more then a couple yards away.
Her breaths came in short pants as she recovered from her run. Not knowing how to proceed, she just watched them. The fangs of the feline skull she wore as a helm masked her face, hiding the emotions that were flaring in her eyes.
Bawnii yipped and whined in excitement, wanting to go after the injured darter. This effectively snapped Dyudahlii out of her state of shock. Glancing at her canines, she gave a sharp whistle and Bawnii and Klaiid promptly returned to her side. She stood there, waiting, watching, fingers only inches from where her dagger lay hidden under a flap of leather on her thigh, ready for whatever was to come next.

Kalina was sitting on a tree limb, contemplating recent events and wondering what she wanted to do about them. A rustling noise and voices brought her attention downwards...and at the three people that had appeared. Why was it she could never find a spot in the woods people didn't go to? She wasn't in the mood for company but then these people wheren't anyone who she knew which made her curious.
"A darter, given time to heal, can soar as well as one never injured and be smarter for the experience." She said before dropping down. Two of the people who were here seemed vaguely familiar as if she might have passed them at one time or another. The girl masking herself with a feline skull was unrecognizable to her though.
"Do you really want to kill it?" She asked curious. She supposed if no one was willing to nurse it to health that killing would be merciful, but she wasn't the type to take life unnecessarily.

Crystoph started at the voice that suddenly sounded to his left and swung around, knife still drawn. He gave the wherling a quick once over and relaxed slightly before raising an eyebrow. “Shouldn’t you be asleep?” The comment was spoken with a slight tone of annoyance. He was a wherling if his knots where correct and Crystoph had hardly met any of them, mainly because they kept much different hours. Lowering his weapon he gave a sideways glance at the darter who had frozen in what sure looked like shock. The candidate opened his mouth to further reply to Dmitri, but shut it and spun around as sharp barking filtered through the hot jungle air.
Crystoph’s eyes widened and he raised his knife as two canines burst from the foliage. The beasts seemed as startled by the presence of him as he was by them. Still the candidate took up a defensive stance even as the two dogs ignored him to hassle the darter. Crystoph opened his mouth to speak to Dmitri but shut it and spun around as another person crashed through the undergrowth.
As she stopped, sides heaving, the candidates eyes widened. What the hell was she wearing? He raised his knife as he saw her fingers go for her own concealed weapon. Who the hell was she? Crystoph hazarded a glance towards Dmitri to gauge his reaction to this new development. All thoughts of the injured darter where expunged from his mind. It was no longer important. The canines and this girl could be dangerous and if they decided to attack he hoped Dmitri knew how to fight. To bad it was full daylight. The wher would be useless in this confrontation even if it could make it this far.
Crystoph took a balanced step back and tried to catch Dmitri’s attention. “You know how…” Before he could get another word out Kalina suddenly dropped out of a tree to block his vision. The candidate didn’t speak. Instead he grabbed Kalina’s shoulders and half thrust her behind him. Great, one more person to protect if it came down to a fight. Crystoph ignored Kalina’s question and didn’t even turn to see if she had caught her balance after he had shoved her. Instead he kept his eyes trained on Dyudahlii and spoke quietly to Kalina. “Do you not see the weirdo in front of us? I think she is more dangerous and important than some stupid darter. Darter’s can’t stab you in the back.” Crystoph fought to keep his voice as unthreading as possible. There was something off about this girl. Feral even.

"Try telling my body that," Dmitri commented with a shrug, unperturbed by the aggressive nature of the question.
He, too, turned toward the crashing that announced two canines, eyes narrowing as he pressed himself more firmly against the tree at his back - as if such a motion was even noticeable given he'd been leaning against it anyway. The injured darter and the moving candidate should be more interesting than he was. Dmitri didn't care to be attacked by canines. Dmisk's half-waking mind brushed his questionly. No, not a problem...he had a big strong man to protect him. Well, if you're sure. And the blue dozed off once again.
The creature that emerged after the dogs was doubly disturbing. Leathers, furs and a feline skull. He pushed himself off the tree and strode casually to Christoph's side, eyeing the newcomer coolly. "At least we know where everyone has been disappearing to, now," he offered jokingly, his gaze never leaving...her?
And then the greenrider. Dmitri suppressed a groan. Why was she going on about the bird? Christoph, at least, seemed to have some sense. Sort of. The wherhandler glanced at both of his - companions? - before stepping forward, his hand briefly brushing the candidate's. "Put it up, will you? Making me nervous." It was ridiculous, really. Those dogs could make short work of all of them...something Dmitri unfortunately knew firsthand. Dogs were not to be messed with, and they were clearly under her control. Not a match for Dmisk, but Dmisk wasn't here.
"Oh great jungle spirit!" he called out dramatically, bowing deeply and adding the imaginary sweep of a hat. "Have you not had enough blood to appease you? We're all still far too young to die, but if you wait here, I can bring back a tasty morsel just for your enjoyment." All the while he'd been creeping closer to her, until he sprung forward, wrapping his long arms around her so as to pin her arms. "Well, guys, she's definitely a she, anyway, and not a spirit," he called back to them. He leaned down to speak quietly to her. "Not sure where you came from or who you are, but I promise I won't hurt you. I couldn't if I wanted to. Pathetic, really. Get beat up by trees and old women all the time. So let's keep that knife holstered and the dogs from ripping out my gizzard, and you tell me your name. Kay?"

Things happened all to quickly for her liking. The tall one with the knife seemed to respond to her first by taking up a defensive stance. Then another one jumps out of a tree. This was too much for her to take in. And why weren't her canines the least bit wary? They actually seemed...excited? She had to calm down and figured out what to do.
Bawnii couldn't stand still, she was wining, acting like a puppy again. Dyudahlii growled lowly to her, warning her to knock it off. Then, before she could make a decision as to what to do, one of the others starts speaking, "Oh great jungle spirit!..."
Dyudahlii titled her head to the side in confusion. Was he speaking to her? And what was this jungle spirit that he spoke of? Words were difficult for her and she was slow to understand. It had been nearly seven turns since she had used words herself, other then a few commands to her canines. So she wasn't really paying attention to his approach, she was just trying to figure out what he was saying. She could only get pieces of what he said. "...too young to die....tasty morsel just for your..." Die? Did they expect her to kill them? Tasty morsel? Now she was thoroughly confused, did they think she wanted to eat them or was he offering food? She was frustrated, this was too difficult for her.
Then, before she knew it, he had his arms wrapped around her, she froze on contact. The last one to touch her had been her father when she ran from him in a game and he caught her, lifting her in a tight bear-hug. She made a soft giggle sound at the memory, but it made her sad, she missed them, she almost started to cry but then she realized he was still speaking. "...where you came from or who you are... I won't hurt you. I couldn't ...Get beat up by trees and old women all the time... keep that knife... and the dogs from ripping out my..tell me your name. Kay?"
This was really frustrating, she couldn't understand exactly what he was saying, she wanted him to let her go, and she thought about biting him, but he did say he would hurt her. She didn't know how to act, when one of her canines didn't want to be touched they just bit. However, she knew that wasn't how her parents acted. She started a low growl in frustration, why were Bawnii and Klaiid so unconcerned.
Bawnii wined again and Dyudahlii looked down to her. Dyudahlii sighed in defeat, she knew that look and before she could stop her Bawnii had reared up and put her forepaws on the "other" and wagged her tail happily. Not wanting to be left out. Klaiid joined in on the other side. Klaiid was big, and heavy, it threw her off balance when he joined them, Dyudahlii stumbled a bit before she slowly looked up at the "other". It looked like her canines made the decision for her.
She looked into his eyes, her face barley giving away that she was emotionally spent. Searching her past until she found the right words she said "I'm Dyudahlii."

She was surprised as his hands pushed her behind him. The force was enough to make her fall but she turned it into a roll instead...leaping back up to her feet. "What was that-" She noticed he seemed wary of the girl wearing a feline skull. Sure....it was weird...even by Kalina's standards. Kalina was always more eccentric than her peers anyways collecting shiny stones and wearing feather ornaments made by herself. She supposed he must worried more about her dogs.
She wanted to groan when the wehrling grabbed the girl and was irritated by the fact she couldn't hear what he said. Men, always quick to assume. If the girl wanted to sic her dogs on one of them Kalina figured she would have done so already. So to Kalina she was no more a threat than any one not wearing a feline skull.
Suddenly Arcturius and Raziel popped from between and flew around. The two browns had felt Kalina's initial distress and had come to help. They flew around...eyes whirling in excitement and annoyance. Where was the fight? Thiers wasn't fighting anything? Raziel spotted the dogs and flew to investigate, using the wherling as a seat from which to investigate Bawnii. Something about the dog aggrevated his nose though and he hopped off, sneezing a thin jet of flame.
"Raziel!" Kalina strode forward. His flame hadn't scorched anything but leaves thankfully. "You've been eating fire stone again haven't you?" She talked to the flitter as he landed in her arms. Arcturious sat on a nearby tree limb, watching everything. This had become boring....but maybe something interesting would occur.
"Sorry about Raziel...some things make him sneeze." She said with a sheepish grin.

Crystoph noted the brush of the wherling’s hand and nodded at the request. Keeping his eyes on the wild figure, the red head sheathed the knife with an audible click. He could draw it in seconds anyway. Dmitri’s quiet approach had Crystoph tensing. The candidate threw a glance at the canines. Strangely they weren’t acting aggressive…not in the slightest. They almost seemed to be beyond excited at the mere sight of them. Strange. Before he could mention the fact, Dmitri had sprung at the jungle girl and sufficiently pinned her. Crystoph’s eyebrows rose. Bold that one was. How did he figure the canines wouldn’t attack upon seeing their master pinned. Either Dmitri knew something he didn’t or he was just plain reckless. Probably the latter.
Crystoph’s eyes widened in surprise and he snorted at the wherling’s comment. Definitely a girl? The candidate could tell that from her build, never mind her makeshift clothing. Safe for the moment Crystoph glanced back at Kalina. The green rider was back on her feet. Good. Turning back to the wild girl and blue wherling, the red head watched with rapt attention. So what would the wild girls reaction be. Would she struggle? Or would she acquiesce to Dmitri’s request? If she did speak it at least proved she wasn’t completely wild. A feral girl living in the jungle under all their noses. How did she manage it? Crystoph was curious to say the least, with the attacks and all security was better and the dragon’s should have at least scented the canines. The girl was either extremely intelligent or just plain lucky.
Crystoph watched the play of emotions cross the wild girl’s face. She seemed unsure of how to react. Finally in a moment of decision the wild girl looked at them all and spoke. Her words were rough but completely understandable and Crystoph nodded, figuring he would take Dmitri’s lead and keep communication going. “I’m Crystoph. Nice to meet you.” He trailed off as he realized he did not know his companions names. “I am afraid you startled us a bit. Do you live around here?” The red head kept his voice calm and politely curious. No sense in scaring her off now. Crouching down he motioned to the canines. Dmitri would probably welcome the space if he could draw them off. “Here puppies.” He called softly clapping his hands and trying to make his face inviting. Really Crystoph had a softness for canines. For animals in particular really. They seemed excitable and if he could show Dyudahlii that he meant no harm to her or hers all the better.
Before the canines could make their decision on his offer however two brown fir lizards burst from between. Crystoph didn’t move as the one snorted and let loose a small jet of flame. Kalina quickly had her pets under control but the candidate watched Dyudahlii’s face closely. Seeing flame from a fire lizard (even if she had seen one before) was probably a bit of a shock, especially if she was indeed a bit feral.

Pleasant surprise. What do you know? The dogs hadn't torn him to shreds. Then again, he had a ridiculous amount of luck with that sort of thing (see Impression of Dmisk.) Only wherries seemed to be his bane, those evil little things that he was certain would fall on him one night and pick his bones clean. But even if his luck had given out in this instance, the seemingly rash decision was not without thought. She controlled the dogs. Get to her, eliminate any threat the dogs might present...and Christoph's defensive posture and manhandling of Kalina certainly didn't suggest he was going to be levelheaded about it. Dmitri didn't want to become a meal for canines, and diffusing the situation before it could get that far - if he was able - seemed the intelligent thing to do.
Or, at least, not the stupidest move he could possibly have made. The girl gave her name, anyway, and even if he couldn't really read the half-concealed emotions flitting behind that odd fanged contraption, it wasn't outright rage. Thus, a plus. Dyudahli. Then there was a light weight on his back - two paws? - and the other dog was pressing against her. He had to shift his weight to help keep her upright, his arms loosening their death grip as his hands found her biceps. It was less domineering. A dog breathing down the back of his neck made him determined to show he wasn't trying to do anything with the girl. Christoph spoke up from behind him, then. He was tempted to snap something back at the kid (nevermind Dmitri wasn't yet sixteen) but didn't want to unnerve Dyudahli.
"Call me Demi," he told the girl, just as quietly as before. "He doesn't mean anything. Mush for brains." Dmitri's voice had taken on a gentler, cajoling tone with the girl, almost as if she were a wild animal herself, modulated as only a trained harper could. Of course, any further conversation - one-sided though it might have been - was broken off by the appearance of two firelizards, one of which landed on Dmitri. His face took on a comically annoyed expression, before his eyes widened. Fire? Growling, he tossed his head and glared at the retreating flit. The glare narrowed further as it touched briefly on Kalina. Lovely. Wild woman with two dogs, and the greenrider was letting her firelizards run amock while flaming.
The smell of singed hair annoyed him, but he refrained from ranting at the greenrider. "Make that mush for brains number two," he muttered, partially to try to keep Dyudahli calm. He had no idea how she'd react. Normally he would have released her, but he still had a dog on him. Probably not for long. His hands remained on her arms, keeping contact, but he released his grip entirely - had done so the instant the firelizard flamed. Trapped animals often reacted poorly, and she reminded him very much of a wild animal.

This situation was grating on her nerves. Sure, anything new was interesting, but she can only take so much excitement in one day. She had a pretty quiet life over the last seven turns, and all this commotion was overwhelming. At least she now knows how to address two of the others. The one, Crystoph, calling to her dogs, did he think them puppies? The other one, holding her, called himself Demi. At least he didn't sound threatening.
Before she could even think about what to do next, she saw two things fly in, she couldn't remember what they were called but she had seen their kind a few time before. However, these two had to fly near her, which was definitely not good. Bawnii liked to "play" with flying things and those flying things chosen by Bawnii usually ended up hurt. Dyudahlii hoped that they would stay far enough away so Bawnii wouldn't notice but one had come all the way up to perch on Demi and gazed at the dog. The fire that came from it was startling, Dyu had never seen that before, she could even smell burnt hair, but there was no time to worry on that, Bawnii's interest was piqued and Dyu had to stop her before she hurt anything.
"Bawnii STOP!" The command sounded closer to a bark then the actual words. Bawnii had pushed off of Demi's back to change direction in pursuit of the fire lizard that was already being cradled in the other female's arms. Bawnii ignored Dyudahlii's command; she was too excited to listen. Dyudahlii had no choice; she threw Demi to the side, made easier by the fact that he had released his grip on her when the fire lizards appeared. She had to dive after Bawnii, half tackling her. Flipped her over and pinned her on her back while she emitted a warning growl. Klaiid had fallen off Dyu and just sat back, he always seemed to enjoy when his sister was punished. Dyu released Bawnii only once she had turned her head in submission.
Bawnii, tail between her legs, headed over to where Klaiid sat. Dyu started to reach down to pick up her feline skull that had fallen off when she tackled Bawnii. But before her fingers could even touch it she heard vicious snarls. Bawnii, as usual, had decided to blame Klaiid for her previous punishment. She always felt it necessary to show that she was not the omega and to re-establish her position by picking a fight with him. However, due to the day's excitement, this was a particularly heated fight and Dyu was not in the mood to deal with this now.
Dyudahlii rushed over to stop her canines from seriously hurting each other; the two dogs never listened to any commands once they started to fight one another, so there was no other option but to pull them apart. One of the attacks meant for Klaiid had connected to Dyu's forearm when she had grabbed a hold of Bawnii to pin her once again. Dyu growled viciously at Bawnii, letting her know that she would not tolerate any other deviant behavior today. Her fingers dug into Bawnii's neck in a mock bite to further accentuate the warning. Bawnii whimpered and licked at Dyu's face, just as a pup would when being punished. Dyu had wondered what was making the aged dog act so young this day, but Bawnii always seemed more youthful than Klaiid, always the delinquent while Klaiid was the well mannered suck up. Dyu released Bawnii and slowly stood, walking over to the feline skull once again.
As she picked it up she took time to examine it. It was old and the white skull was visible in spots where the fur had long since worn away. A long time has passed since she lost her parents. Shaking the thought from her head she noticed some blood on the fur. Looking around for the source, she noticed the blood streaming from the bite wounds on her arm. She sighed; this day just seemed to be getting worse. She brought her arm up to her lips and sucked on the wounds until the bleeding slowed, blood smearing on her face a little. She plopped the feline skull back onto her head and looked around to see how the others had reacted to this most recent of events. Not wanting to properly tend to the wounds in front of strangers, she would just lick at them every once in a while. Klaiid walked over to her and licked her hand, checking if she was alright. Bawnii seemed depressed, she had slunk away again, this time over to the edge of the group, lying down on the ground, head on her paws. Dyu spoke again, addressing the others this time "Sorry. Bawnii likes flying things." The words were rough but understandable. She hoped she had used the right words.

Kalina stood still, a bit surprised as Dyudahlii tumbled around with the dogs to get them under control. She winced as a dog bit the girl and stepped forward automatically. The urge to protect the other girl was strong but she held on to common sense and stayed put as Dyudahlii got them under control. She moved Razial to her neck and walked over to Dyudahlii.
"It's okay...really. You're the one who got hurt...I should be saying sorry for Raziel." She indicated the brown firelizard curled around her neck. His eyes swirled slowly in a an apologetic way. He hadn't meant to sneeze!
"We have very good healers. Will you come with us? Your dogs are welcome to come too of course." She smiled reassuringly. Uminth? I don't know if this girl will come with us...but can you relay to the healers that some one with a canine bite might be coming soon? She felt a pause before Uminth said, They know...they said if the girl is too frightened to come to the weyr I can bring you some redwort and bandages....but they prefer she comes in.
I don't know if she will...She looks like she's lived alone for a while.
Meanwhile Arcturius had been cheering on the dogs with chirps and trills till one had bit the girl. He had hissed down at that point. Stupid dog....it should know better! He quieted down after a mental nudge from Kalina though and glided away several yards towards the weyr as if he was the leader. Perching on a branch he paused...trilling at everyone to follow.

Crystoph watched Dmitri with a interested look. The young lad really seemed to have the best hold on the situation, so the red head switched to observation mode. He still kept his hand close to his concealed weapon just in case. However as the moments passed by it seemed the candidate wouldn’t need it. Pity really, he needed a good fight. Might help clear his head. As Dmitri continued to mutter and throw glares Crystoph rolled his eyes and ceased in his calling of the canines. He was only trying to help in some way, no need to get all bent out of shape about it.
The wild girl’s yell made the candidate flinch and his eyes widened as Dyudahlii tackled her canine sending it and her sprawling on the ground. What in Faranth’s name? As the girl actually growled at the canine she had called Bawnii Crystoph gave a worried glance at Dmitri. That wasn’t exactly what one would call normal behavior, was it? Did the girl think herself a canine? Well whatever she did Bawnii seemed to submit quietly. Interesting. The red head watched as the canine slunk over to the other one and immediately turned on it. Before the candidate could move Dyudahlii was back in the thick of the fight literally pulling the snarling canines apart to pin the female again.
Crystoph watched with a slightly worried expression as the girl sucked on her canine bite. That couldn’t be sanitary right? He turned to try and catch Dmitri’s gaze. What the heck where they going to do about her? They couldn’t really leave her in the jungle could they? Before he could voice his concerns Kalina spoke up and he turned to address her. His voice cold and unfriendly. Kalina had come across as the too stupid for her own good type and he, for one, was not going to let her just barge in and try to control the situation. “I don’t know who you think you are but don’t you think we should talk about this before you just make offers like that? We don’t even know if she has friends or roommates or whatever yet. She could be part of a group. Also please get your fire lizards under control, or send them off. They are obviously more trouble than they are worth.” The red head fell silent then and worried at his bottom lip. Females. Why did they always act without thought? He turned his attention to the wild girl and from her to Dmitri. Dmitri was the one who had first initiated contact, so he should be the ambassador of sorts. The wherling probably had already gained a bit of trust from the girl, where as he and Kalina had nothing to offer.

Well...this was beginning to become a habit. That thought flitted through his head just before he hit the ground, stumbling over a root when the girl shoved him aside. People must just think he was a boulder or something. Height did not at all equate with body mass, and Dyudahlii was much stronger than she looked. Considering she was wrestling those massive canines - something he noted while his ears were still wringing - it was little wonder.
Dmitri's eyes slitted. He could get up, of course. That would be the normal thing for someone to do. It wasn't as if it had really hurt or anything beyond the normal, and now that the canines were fighting one another it probably would be better to have his feet under him in case the skirmish stormed his way. Given his recent run of luck, however, he'd likely end up being bowled over and stomped on anyway, so he might as well eliminate the gravity aspect of it. Turning onto a side to watch the girl pin the misbehaving mastiff to the ground, he rested his head on his hand, his expression revealing little but what might have been irritation.
Dmitri's face visibly twitched when Kalina made her offer, and he rolled his eyes, not bothering to hide it at all. Dragonriders. More foolhardy courage and brawn than brains, the lot of them. Crystoph turned on her, though, and Dmitri began idly drawing patterns in the dirt, waiting for the two to hash it out. Whatever. Feeling eyes on him, he glanced up at the candidate. Oh. Rich. Really? He didn't move from his sprawl on the ground. Part of it was childish peevishness at being pushed around (he hated it when people got physical with him, since Dmitri couldn't hold his own with a weyrbrat and it was decidedly unnecessary to boot) and part remained that someone had to be relaxed. All this tension wasn't good. Not with exciteable canines around.
"Dyudahlii." Modulating his voice to be heard without noticeably raising the volume. "You know how to take care of a canine bite, right?" She would have to. Assuming that she didn't was downright stupid. "We can get a healer with supplies if you don't have them. Ask the healer to come to the edge of the Weyr. The infirmary has many...flying things. And many people." A brilliant place to take a wild girl with two huge canines that likely would not behave, particularly if she was upset. Honestly.

Dyu ignored the girl once Crystoph stared to argue with her. She had a hard enough time trying to understand them when they spoke normally, a heated conversation was too much trouble for her to bother with.
Instead, she brought her attention to Demi, still lying on the ground, thought this time she noted that he was not alone. Klaiid, after he checked on Dyu, felt it his responsibility to comfort the new person that he liked. He had slowly walked toward the fallen Demi and upon reaching him, he flopped down, half laying on him, head on the boy's side and whimpered a slight apology. Dyudahlii sighed, just what she needed, her dog making a new friend.
"Sorry," she said to Demi. "I didn't hurt you?" She reached out her hand to him while simultaneously signaling Klaiid to heel with a short whistle. Klaiid reluctantly moved off Demi and returned to Dyu's right side. Bawnii, upon hearing the whistle, stood and trotted over to stand at Dyu's left, she would not be misbehaving again for a long while, she was being quite the obedient one now, sitting on her haunches, ignoring everything except for her Alpha. It was her way of getting past her sulking and pretending nothing went wrong that day, that she was the favorite and most well behaved.
"I don't need healer. I know how." Her hand still reached out toward Demi. Dyu didn't quite know why she had even reached out to him, but her parents had always helped her up when she had fallen, and she had been thinking of them more in these last few minutes that she had in a long time. She mentally shrugged off her internal questions, a slight smile spread on her lips, she was starting to like this day.
During this time she picked up on something Crystoph had said and some random, unfocused thought forced her to respond. Her head turned to look at Crystoph . "I have no friends, no group" she said before turning her attention back to Demi, her hand still outstretched expectantly.
