Just as M’kier had predicted Tepidoth offered his opinion of each and every slice that was served to him. This piece was a bit too large, another far too small, almost right that last one had been… The little blue didn’t seem to realize his commentary could be construed as annoying and likely he’d be surprised if his weyrmate mentioned it. After all didn’t M’kier want to feed his Tepidoth perfectly? Didn’t he care to do things right? The small dragon seemed rather intent that everything around him should be just so. Why he even refused to eat a few pieces until M’kier chopped them shorter or replaced them with bigger chunks. A quick glance around the room proved other dragonets were not as picky.
You’re lucky. I’m much more helpful. The blue chimed in startling M’kier out of his thoughts. Despite himself the young man smiled. He could easily become trapped in his own thoughts and forget about the world around him. More than once he’d completely ignored a peer by being entangled in his own thoughts. Tepidoth however was always included. Without intending to M’kier could easily distance himself from the world with invisible walls but from the moment he’d Impressed the little blue his private world had gained a new resident. It was strange but not unpleasant.
As it was the feeding portion of the lesson seemed to have concluded ad despite Tepidoths protests M’kier followed the teacher out along with the other students. Unsurprisingly the little blue insisted he had much more important needs. He needed to be oiled! He needed to be scrubbed! It wouldn’t hurt to be fed a bit more…or a nap in the sun… The lessons that had so excited the dragonet were now a bore and he urged M’kier to join him in a more fun enterprise.
We are not going to skip lessons. They are important for both of us. Now come along or I’ll leave you behind and your hide can itch till a watchwher flies thread fall.
The little blue picked up his step and his grumblings.
