Cloar looked over at Hennai when she spoke, and listened with interest. He wasn't normally one to express himself outwardly, but when she started blushing, he wondered what he could do to make her feel a little more comfortable.
Being new to the place, he wasn't of a mind to go making everyone he met uncomfortable to the point where he'd find himself sitting alone... he was used to knowing the people around him.
So he offered her a small smile ... not necessarily the right thing to do, but it was all he could think of, before speaking again: "What is it called?" he asked. "Maybe I can rustle up some written notes for it ..." he paused before going on ... he didn't know if he should admit that he knew how to play a little. Last thing he wanted was to get relegated to a Harper ... he was a blacksmith for crying out loud! And he rather enjoyed that persuit, too. If he failed to Impress, he didn't want to give smithing up.

Uncertain, Kalina opened the door. How many doors have I opened this morning? This better be the archive room Dust drifted on an almost still air and Kalina noticed that the others were already here. She didn't know any of them yet, not even a bunk mate. She had the trunk to herself for now. Not showing her agitation at getting lost she walked to a wall with very old scrolls and carefully pulled one out. It would be my luck if this crumbles... Holding it delicately she went to one of the less crowded tables to sit. A guy and a girl where there. With agitation melting away into slight nervousness she gave a small smile.
"Hello, " She said as she sat down. The scroll she picked was determined to curl so she held down the corners with small rivers stones placed here for such purpose. Smoothing her blank sheet she dipped her quill in ink and began writing.
The Fundamentals Behind Air Currents Her printing wasn't the most beautiful but it was legible. She couldn't help but read it as she wrote.
When flying your dragon for long distances it is best to allow him to float upon the air currents. Warm updrafts called Thermals allow any winged creature rise up with out expanding much energy. In fact it is recommended to glide from thermal to thermal in order to preserve energy. The chapter continued discussing thermals and techniques for endurance flight. Occasionally she would find an interesting fact and store it away, such as how air near a cliff face moves much faster than normal. The text warned about treacherous currents in canyon flying as well.
If dragons go between then why all the writing on air currents? She thought idly as she reached a part about an air current that traveled the world. Some kind of high altitude air stream that shifted every eight years or so and affected weather. Now that sounded boring...
