The judgmental glances and frowns cast her direction only managed to amuse Laurie more. After all, most of these were just kids, including their illustrious wingleader/weyrleader. She knew full well what she was doing, thank you very much! It always helped to give off the impression of airheaded, bubbly promiscuity...or at least this had always held true for Lauranna. You got away with so much more when people thought you were an idiot. Besides, there was nothing like underestimation, and the added boon of distracting a few of the males with her...assets...in the process only made that well of smugness run deeper.
Allowing T'rid to detach her from him, the greenrider turned a purely innocent look upon him. "I have my jacket," she replied sweetly and flashed him a wide-eyed sort of smile, as if she had no idea that he likely wasn't talking about that so much as her skirt. Surprisingly enough, the thin-looking leggings trapped heat much better than they appeared...better than all but the tightest leathers. Laurie wasn't stupid, no matter the impression she projected.
Nor did she miss the one person who seemed to be appropriately appreciative. A little odd that he also happened to be bonded to a green, but Lauranna wasn't choosy, and she flashed K'lir a knowing smile. Though if he was looking high enough to notice that smile...remained to be seen.
Naturally, the greenrider was one of the first to get a good look at the wing formation, and that was when her expression turned serious for the first time. Reysalth's voice intruded on her thoughts with just a touch of apprehension. You know I can't fly with Calistoth. She'll get pissy, and I don't want to have to hurt her just to protect ourselves. I know, love, but he's talking right now. Give it a minute.
Laurie was actually a little surprised - though she probably shouldn't have been! - to hear Kalierre's kept brownrider offer to help teach fighting. From the dragonhealer's description, the man was as harmless as a pup. Dorava, however, didn't surprise her much at all. The woman looked like she was about ready to slit a few throats right now, in fact. Lauranna was almost tempted to see if Kalierre might not be willing to come out and protect her - although that aggression didn't seem directed at anyone in particular. Yet.
K'lir's words registered, and she reached over to touch T'rid's arm lightly. "Reysalth's uncomfortable with the arrangement, too. Maybe just switch us out with Amorath? Then Calistoth's happy and there's no strain...especially at such a compressed part of the formation." Laurie was sounding surprisingly reasonable right there.
Said dragon had now edged out from behind Jaxith a little, managing to put the blue between her and Calistoth - and also Aonith, just in case. She crooned to him softly, grateful for his bit of support. I must apologize for Mine... she told him quietly, making the source of her unease clear. She is not usually so bad, but today...
