Nephele bit her lower lip as she gazed at her sleeping dragon. Nothing was necessarily wrong with the green…she just happened to be glowing. Anyone who lived in a weyr knew what that meant. Her little green - Nuoth would always be considered little to her, never mind that she had grown bigger than Nephele in less than half a turn - was ready to rise. The girl was nervous but not because of what would happen after Nuoth was caught. No she was nervous because of how she’d act during the flight. There were some horror stories out there and she didn’t really want to become known for running naked through the weyr, thank you very much. The weyrling dragon shifted slightly and the girl had a moment of panic before she realized it was a false alarm. The bronze firelizard on her shoulder chirper once and licked her mostly bare shoulder comfortingly.
She approached the sleeping green and placed her hand on the smooth hide. The contact soothed her somewhat and she took a deep breath. She yawned and raised an arm for her firelizards. Nephele sent them all off to bother Erilena for a while, though whether they stayed with her or not was up to them as long as they didn’t come back for a while. The girl then spun on her heel and left her weyr. She could have spent the flight in her own weyr of course but having someone wake up in her own bed…No she’d rather not have that. That bed was still clean. Be a shame to sully it now. As she walked to the flight rooms she tried her best not to look like she was going there or that she was nervous at all. Because of course no one was nervous for their first flight experience. That would be so abnormal.
She was almost at the flight rooms when she felt Nuoth beginning to stir in her mind. Abandoning any semblance of calm, the girl broke into a dashed the rest of the way. She felt a small amount of relief as she ducked into one of the rooms and she began to calm down. Nephele sat down on the bed with no idea what to expect from her lovely green. There was no sense in panicking before anything had actually happened though. She held onto that thought as she felt Nuoth brush her mind. Considerate despite her own needs as always. She let the green sweep her along with only a little resistance. She didn’t want to hold her back but she was still a little scared.
Nuoth awoke feeling the overwhelming desire to fly a dizzyingly fast flight so no one could catch her. She uncurled on her ledge, checking the weyr for her mindmate, her love but didn‘t see her. She reached out for Nephele and found her nervous but mostly alright with what was going to happen. The green stretched thoroughly on her ledge, feeling satisfaction as any stiffness from her sleep melted away. She spread her delicate looking wings and dove off her weyrledge. She pulled up feeling very much alive as the wind rushed past her. She didn’t scream for the males. No need to be rude about it. She called out with a croon, gently letting anyone interested know. She was ready, but were they?
The green spiralled upwards slowly until she was well above the canyon and she could see farther out. The late evening sun shone through patches of light gray clouds. The weather was warming up again now that winter was mostly over. Nuoth waited not expectantly but eagerly. She wanted to see who would dance with her. Who would be able to keep up with her pace? Just as she was waiting for her males, Nephele had leaned back on her hands on the bed, gaze trained on the entrance to the room. She hoped they didn’t plan on making her wait for long.

Chaoth's tail curled lazily. Merridan was watching him with concern. Chaoth hadn't moved from his weyr ledge all day and he refused to say why. The brown could be stubborn at times, but this was ridiculous. He kepted purring and crooning suspiciously and it was making her antsy. "Come on, Chaoth," she begged, tapping a foot impatiently. "What are you waiting for? We're wasting a perfectly good day!"
Not wasting, Chaoth assured her patiently. A flash of green caught his eyes. There! It had started. Chaoth rose on his hind legs. Mer's eye widened when she saw the deep violet flood his eyes. A rush of emotion she had never felt before filled her mind. "Chaoth?" she asked shakily. Shards, why was she nervous? It wasn't like this was a fight or anything. Chaoth was chasing that was all. "Who?"
Nuoth, he answered simply. He jumped forward and rose in slow circles. He crooned low and affectionately. Nuoth was such a sweet dragon. He had always liked her, and he praised her beauty, kindness and grace. Would she like him to join in her dance? He do his best to please her. He knew he was not as agile as she. But see, he was large and strong. Perhaps he would still be able to help her enjoy this chase.
Mer got no more warning. She cursed and ran to the flight room. Fortunately, Chaoth was taking his time and his longing led her straight for Nephele. By the time she got there, she was already engrossed in dragon emotions. Nephele was so lovely. Mer smiled sweetly and hummed alluringly. Why wait over there? Surely such a lovely one would love to come and play!

Futh was sunning on the cliff top, not on his weyr ledge like usual. Reina still believed it was HER realm, and any time M'kai and Futh were both out of the weyr she dragged anything she could find onto the ledge and made a nest. No matter how often M'kai straightened, swept, sanitized, and repeated, Futh had taken to eyeing the ledge with barely veiled disgust. Who knew what Reina dug up to put in her concoctions? It just wasn't clean.
For his part, M'kai had given up this time. Reina, nearly purring in vindictive delight, was gleefully shredding a pair of his underpants. The blueweyrling made no move to stop her; his theory was that if he didn't give her any attention over her bad behavior, she'd stop. Other punishments certainly hadn't made any differance, so he figured anything was worth a try. He tilted the collection of ballads he was reading to the left to catch the natural light better, and went back to ignoring both of his creatures.
That didn't last long. Futh suddenly snapped from half-drowsing to full alertness, causing M'kai to drop the book in surprise. He was no longer a green Weyrling- he knew that feeling. Another flight. After Baoth's nearly disasterous rising, and the deep humiliation of finding himself attracted to a male of all things, M'kai had sought out an older rider and asked if there was a way to stop your dragon from chasing. The answer had basically been no, but there were techniques. However...
Who is it, Futhy? he asked, perched now on the edge of his seat. Futh's mind-voice was tinged with want, but at least this time M'kai wasn't already lost. Nuoth. Nephele, was all the response he got. Without even time to give his approval, M'kai felt himself fading. Oh well, he'd always liked Nephele, even if they hadn't had much contact besides lessons. And Nuoth was so pretty... no no, that last part was Futh. M'kai promised himself he'd keep SOME control this time.
But as much as he wanted it, he couldn't keep it by force. Launching himself with characteristic heaviness more suited to a brown or bronze, Futh flailed upwards, striving for altitude. He crooned to the green in adoring response, ready to follow her to the ends of the earth (even if he wouldn't do it as fast as she certainly could). Without even realizing he'd left his weyr, M'kai arrived in the Flightrooms, his eyes already glassy with longing. He saw Nuoth in front of him, radiant, and ignored his clutchbrother. Futh was ready for his second chance at flight.

High up Saboth was making lazy circles around the length of the weyr. Patiently waiting for the moment he felt coming. Down below his mindmate shot suspicious glares up at the pale blue. It was more common for Saboth to remained curled up somewhere feigning sleep. To actively patrol the sky was cause for concern. On the other hand, Saboth had been somewhat.. testy.. ever since he had moved in with F'ur.
He would have blamed the odd behavior on that little detail, if not for the sudden pulse coursing through the bond between them, connecting them more firmly as the young green took to the skies. F'lix growled under his breath before directing his little mindmates to return to the weyr.
Up above, Saboth banked to the left to take his path down toward Nuoth. He skimmed the air above her, deeply crooning at her magnificent glow before banking in the opposite direction. Sliding through the sky beneath her before using his long wings to turn him in a smooth barrel roll. He came to see her first dance, and he was sure it would wonderful.
F'lix, light scowl properly in place, calmly made his way to the flight room. She wouldn't pick Saboth, he assured himself, and he'd just sit out of the way in case the bond between him and his blue became any stronger. Saboth didn't overpower him the way Simper and Lilitu did. With Saboth it was a choice to either give in to the bond or ignore it entirely..
And to be honest, F'lix was tired of arguing with his dragon. It was tiring on the mind, maybe being compliant with the whole thing would ease some of the blue's calm fury..

He felt very much like a feline, sprawled out in the fading sunlight as he was. For Ismaroth it had been a thuroughly boring day, his Human insisting on sleeping during his free hours so as to get accustomed to his new schedual. E'rro had recently been transfered to the nightshift, between that, watch duty and Wing Training he had very little time to himself. Speaking of which... turning his attention to his Rider, the Brown brushed the young man's mind. He had started the first of his two shifts only a short while ago and he was already bored. The Dragon did not envy his Mine, he didn't have to be awake during the night since E'rro had two perfectly fine legs. Ismaroth had taken to making his human walk to the Infirmary rather than being flown there, His needed to supliment his exercising.
Ismaroth had spent the day resting, not because he wanted to be lazy but because there was a female who had grown intoxicatingly bright. He was old enough to tell when a Green was going to Fly, and he expected the female to sooner rather than later. If there was any luck to the situation, she'd do it today. Stretching his limbs languidly, Ismaroth swung his head upward as a faint tingle of emotion stirred within him. Oh, he had been right after all. The Green was moving finally. Mine. You should come back to the Weyrs. Unfurling his wings, the Brown lifted himself onto his feet. As Nuoth dove into the canyon, Ismaroth flicked his tail and did his best to ignore the annoyance his Human was feeling. Leaping off of his ledge the male pumped his wings to gain altitude, rumbling as he approached the Green and her other chaser. If she was ready so was he.
Looking up from his parchment, the Brownrider frowned. Ismaroth knew that he was on shift, he couldn't come back to the... oh. OH. E'rro stood up quickly enough that the stool he had been perched on tipped over and clattered as it hit the floor. Dropping his quill the Dragonhealer bolted for the landingledge and the skybridges. The others on his shift would understand his sudden and violent exodius, it wasn't particularily often that he ran out on a shift. Unfortunately he had to slow his pace when the bridge beneath him began to sway dangerously. At this moment in time he was extremely unhappy with his Dragon. Why couldn't Greens Rise at a more oppertune time? The lust was already enveloping him, at this rate he would be totally under it's influence by the time he got back on solid ground. Shard his life and shard his Dragon.

T'lor was relaxing, whistling a jaunty ballad tune and carving a miniature 'mandyr figurine while Shith relaxed, head on forepaws and his long tail curled up and over his nose. He snuffled every so often in his half asleep state, making funny little noises. Occasionally, a back paw would kick or twitch spasmodically, causing T'lor to grin. Some old habits died hard, and it wasn't nearly disastrous as when the odd blue seemed to 'run' in his sleep. As if to mirror the thought his was having, however, the blue suddenly began to do just that. He had now flopped over on his left side, and his legs began moving as though he were running. Shorter than most blue's legs, they still moved very fast nonetheless. However, as all things with the young blue, the result was quite unexpected.
Quite suddenly, the light colored blue with the darker patches went from lying down to running--straight into the Weyr wall. Shaking his head, he hardly seemed to notice he'd just hit the wall full force. T'lor's eyes widened as the whippy tail began to wag furiously, sending several objects flying off of his chest of drawers and desk. He scowled, and stood up, putting the half completed sculpture and his carving knife down.
"What 'n Faranth's name are 'yah doin', yeh crazy blue?" He had seen Shith wake up in plenty of amusing ways, but not like this! He never got an answer, however. In the next instant, the blue had turned on a dime, and raced for the ledge, claws skittering every which way as he seemed to nearly go so fast he fell over, and jumped off the ledge! There was no preamble about it, the medium sized blue simply jumped off, like someone jumping feet first into a lake. He actually fell a few feet before his wings snapped open, yanking him upwards on a thermal updraft. T'lor ran to the ledge, and shouted after him.
"Hey! Where'n'the shells are yah' goin'!" However, the answer was not what he expected. Still, it was completely an answer he rather liked! Having been quite the ladies man before he'd Impressed, this was a pleasant surprise. It was about sharding time!
I will catch Nuoth! We're going to play catch and I'm going to win!
T'lor's face split into a wide grin, as he caught on. Catch, was it? Well, catching pretty girls was quite fun, and he had no objections to it being Nephele. The girl was cute, and growing into a lovely young woman. He had to wonder if she had any experience before now. Well, if she didn't? She was about to get some, and he would be more than honored to do the, well, honors! That in mind, he jogged for the flight rooms. Instinctively he knew through Shith where Nuoth's mind-mate was. When he got there, he noted he wasn't the only one. Still, he was the most suitable one for the little lass, that was no doubt! He grinned at the other two girls, but his charm was laid on for Nephele, not them!
"Hey there, beautiful. You wanna' play a game of catch? Shith's gonna' catch yer' lovely Nuoth, an' then maybe we can join in the fun, too." He winked at her, leaning against the wall of the room and eying her appreciatively. She was quite the pretty little thing, that was for sure. He'd make sure to show her just how pretty he thought she was. Lovely young woman, no doubt, and who else to show her just what it could be like than him? She looked innocent, after all, and he didn't doubt that this flight would be a first for more than Nuoth! Dirty, dirty boy.

"And that's the last of it..." K'sel said proudly as he finished stuffing a bag full of miscellaneous supplies including, but not limited to some very loose fitting clothing, sandals, and booze. Where ever it was he was planning on going to he was prepared. He flicked his glance up to the top of his wardrobe where his firelizards liked to hide. Sneaky critters, "You two as well. We're all going to go. Family vacation," he commanded the blue and the bronze as they chittered defiantly, Pettahth joining in with his own objections to this sudden outing his rider had declared, I can not support this, I have things to do...
K'sel snorted back laughter, as he strode out to the ledge Pettahth was resting on, "Whatever could a big important dragon such as yourself have on their agenda? Hmmm?" The young man cocked his head and crossed his arms as he regarded the brown. Pettahth had his eyes on another ledge, and he had been for a couple days. The guy was many things, but he wasn't completely stupid. He had read the signs and gathered the clues and knew that that this day would inevitably come because well...Faranth hated him and wanted him to suffer. Thats why. Well, the brownrider being eternally defiant once again, turned his nose up at the mythical golden egg maker and would not give the world the pleasure of seeing him flapping his arms and running down to the flight rooms. Oh no. Twenty minutes and he'd be on a beach taking a nap and he would stay there until his ass grew fat and his every muscle atrophied if that is what it took to avoid Nuoth's flight...if that is what it took to prove a point.
All the while Pettahth was remaining quiet. Seething, but quiet nonetheless. He could chase any dragon, any dragon in the Weyr, but K'sel was so dead set against this one...and he liked Nuoth soooo much. She was smart and considerate and so many other wonderful things. He felt his muscles beginning to pull under the hide in an unconscious reaction. K'sel's eyes narrowed. Pettahth heard the call even as subtle as it was because he was listening for it this whole time. His Nuoth would never be so ornery or haughty to hoot and holler over the land. She didn't need to anyway. The brown didn't waste time on words to his rider. He would comply and give in...running away wouldn't work.
Crushed - K'sel with what humanity that was left in him - walked calmly over to the door leading into the corridor, reached for the handle, and promptly began banging his head against the wood grain; cursing his life under his breath. This really was happening to him wasn't it? Here he manages past Baoth's flight and falls right into Nuoth's. Just his kind of luck. But things were going to change from here on out, he knew it, or at least the increasingly dragon part of him did. It was time to drop the denial and embrace a little of that jealousy. He stopped his self inflicted injury and growled, and that wasn't even flight induced, but the thought that popped into his head was: Nuoth's was his, if any of them thought that they could win her, then they had to get through him.
Pettahth circled down into the canyon already fixing to impress the green with his natural flair. Being little was quite the advantage from time to time see? He swung around the green and wove in between the other suitors as he waited. Showoff? Well yes, anything for her. K'sel meanwhile pushed his way down to the flightrooms and burst onto the scene just in time to hear her classmate T'lor's sleazy tease. Of course he just had to reply to that. Sharding blueriders in her class were apparently the worst about flirting, "Oh really? You seem so sure of yourself..." his tones were fiery, and not without bite.

After the most dramatic maiden flight Iorath had ever had the honor to participate in, the Blue had found himself abruptly ignored and shut out from his mindmate’s thoughts. He thought it would be funny, pitting her against a certain Greenrider who she hated, but apparently His did not share in the same humor. He had sincerely apologized to her after everything was over and everyone back in their weyrs, but she wouldn’t hear any of it; “make love not war” was apparently not an acceptable explanation for his decision to completely overwhelm her. Though frankly, Iorath thought His ought to have been grateful. After all, she remembered very little of the ordeal. Or maybe she had simply convinced herself that she remembered nothing. Either way, he couldn’t really tell what Evrgarde was feeling other than that she did not want to talk to him.
Today found Iorath sprawled out at the top of Drumheights soaking up the remaining sunlight while His stalked about the Weyr being moody. He knew that another Green was rising and assured His that Nuoth’s rider was not anyone that His had past misgivings with. It’s a human female, too! Alas, that exciting little tidbit of information didn’t really quite win him the favor he had hoped; Evrgarde was absolutely not interested.
And so he watched as the glowing green rose up, graceful as a swath of silk fluttering in a calm breeze. He could still chase, he supposed, but it would be awfully rude of them, a bluepair, to not arrive as, you know, a pair. Still, he righted himself and rose to his feet. Shaking out his wings, he swooped down from Drumheights towards the Green, making a few lazy circles around her while thrumming appreciably at her. Close enough so that they could make out each others’ features, but far away to make clear that he did not mean to cut in front of the other males already assembled.
Nuoth, he cooed privately to her. You look absolutely /stunning/ tonight. Alas, Mine is not feeling well so with much regret I must bow out from this dance. He looped around her again until they were facing each other and humbly bobbed his head. Best wishes for your first flight, gorgeous.
With that, he fell away from the group and out of airspace to give the actual participants the room they would need.

The slender green watched with pleasure as her chasers arrived. They did her honour with their presence and she was grateful to them. So grateful. She crooned again in welcome to those that chose to follow her lead. She would not make this flight easy but she already appreciated them showing up. Her clutch brothers would know of her speed in the air. She saw three of them among those who were present from her clutch and though she didn’t show her favour she was more comfortable with them than with those she had only ever seen before. There was, of course, Pettahth too. He had been the first dragon beyond her teachers and her clutch siblings that she had grown to like. This didn’t mean any of them had any better chance of catching her though. She was wary of letting others see her other side, the one that cared little for others’ problems or concerns. It scared her to know what others would think of that part of her. It was not the time for that!
She examined her clutchbrothers first. Sizing up their strengths and where they might make up for their flaws if they so tried. Chaoth she realized a bit sadly would have a lot of trouble keeping up. He was a large brown and his size would tell in this flight. She was fond of her brown brother despite not sharing many conversations. He was a hardworking dragon and she rather liked that but more than that he was someone she branded with a warm personality. Nuoth then considered Futh. He’d already had experience chasing her clutch sister, had he not? She wasn’t bothered that he would chase another. If anything she was somewhat curious what tricks she could show him that Baoth had not. He was quite similar to Chaoth in their hardworking tendencies she knew. Beyond that she didn’t know much else about him. There was Shith too. He was a playful blue, if she remembered right. She was regretting not getting to know her own clutch brothers better now. If she thought she knew little about them, then she knew even less about the others.
Saboth was a mystery to the green and yet she had the feeling she knew him from before. He came in from above her and she watched his barrel role with silent approval of the manoeuvre. He was a more experienced dragon than she was but she still intended to show him what she was capable of. Nuoth acknowledged that he was likely not to fall too far behind her while she flew and that was a good thing. Then there was Ismaroth. He was an interesting brown to say the least. Not really what she’d come to expect of the second largest males. Not that one could always say browns were second largest. Pettahth was an excellent example of this fact. He would do all the better for his smaller size. She was tempted to brush his mind in appreciation of his aerobatics but she still refused to show favour.
One more came and she watched him curiously. Was he going to chase too? When she heard his words she crooned sadly. That was so unfortunate. She responded kindly with no hint of annoyance for she really wasn’t annoyed. She understood and she wished he could join her but he plainly couldn’t. Thank you for your compliments. I wish Yours well and for you to remain in good health. Perhaps the next time things will be different. There would be other flights and other chances for him. As he left she turned back to her males, the ones already devoted to flying with her. Her wonderful males.
She had an interesting bunch of them too. Four known, and two unknown. Already some were trying to impress her. With so many present she wouldn’t let them down in their expectations. She turned away from her chasers and looked around her once more. The day would not wait forever and she was tired of waiting when her body told her to fly and never let them catch her. Any who came from this point on would have to try and catch up. Instead of going up as one might expect, Nuoth decided to dance within the crater first. She beat upwards for a brief moment in a brief attempt to throw them off before flipping backwards and diving downwards.
The human part of Nephele quailed slightly at the sight of another woman but it was quickly overridden as her expression melted into one of pleasure. The first had come and she was so, so pleased! Soon M’kai arrived also and her smile grew as she took in her two clutch brothers. She didn’t necessarily know them well but she liked them well enough. A flicker of recognition stirred behind her gaze as F’lix entered. She knew that one from somewhere other than Selenitas she was sure of it. He didn’t seem all that interested in her but with Nuoth’s understanding nature she ignored it for the moment. Perhaps he only needed some tempting. T’lor earned a sweet grin in return for his words. He thought he was going to catch her that easily did he?
Her expression faltered for a moment as one she knew very well indeed stepped into the room and told off and said what she was thinking. She was drawn and repulsed by K’sel all at once. Then she simply giggled at the antics of her males. “Wonderful males,” she cooed adoringly, giving voice to Nuoth’s thoughts. “Let’s dance?” One was late but he could always join in later. She couldn’t wait forever after all. If he planned to join her then she’d welcome him later. She felt a pang of sadness as she realized there was one who wanted to chase but couldn’t. As quickly as it had come it went.
Her foot tapped the floor lightly as she continued to sit on the bed despite her words, sizing up her chasers one last time. Well then, it was high time she start showing her moves. Her spirits soared as she stood up and she had the overwhelming desire to dance in the skies. A small part of her realized she couldn’t fly for she had no wings. She settled for spinning out merrily into the middle of the room. Though she lacked the seamless grace her green possessed she did it was not a completely unappealing little twirl. She playfully crooked a finger at her chasers to call them closer. No need to be shy. Nephele was rather forward when she chose to flirt and Nuoth had given her a reason to.

Saboth paid no mind to the other chasers. He was not here for them, nor did he felt the need to compete with them. The pale blue came to dance with the young green – no form of thought in his mind about catching her, or claiming she was his. It was Nuoth's time in the sky, not theirs, and she would make the rules and lead the way for them all.
Again his bass rumble filled the air, and Saboth pumped his wings to glide evenly to the green. Letting her be the lead and riding the break her wings cut through the air. It was a peaceful moment as she summed up her chasing, perhaps weighing their worth, and Saboth waited patiently for the moment – the test – the chase – the dance. His own wings angled up to follow, but he rumbled in amusement when the green instead dive. He approved. The faster, the better.
Arching smoothly, Saboth tucked his wings closer to his slender body and took off after Nuoth. He made his own descent a light twirl, slowly spinning around while keeping back his desire to urge her on. To go faster, make it fun, make it a magnificent flight..
F'lix entered the flightroom and quickly removed himself from the others. His back found the wall at the far end and he began to lightly pat his pockets for – oh he did not just hear that. Golden eyes, narrowed to unwelcoming slits, shifted over to T'lor. That didn't sound like a dragon being channeled.. but Nephele's actions did. Dance. No thank you.
The former Benden rider found what he was looking for, a small sheet of paper. His gaze dropped down to his hands as he tried to disconnect himself from the entire scene by focusing on folding it into a desired shape..

Two clutchbrothers, blue and brown, then another blue, and another brown. Finally a third brown appeared, rounding out the chasers. Another blue came and went: Iorath, from Baoth's flight. Futh trilled softly at the older Blue's retreating back, sad that they wouldn't be able to fly together again. Maybe some other time. So, two smaller blues, a brown not too much larger than Futh himself, and two larger ones. He was smack in the middle of the pack, faster than the large Browns but not anywhere near as fast or as agile as the Blues, Saboth especially. An interesting flight to be, certainly.
For once, Futh's lack of agility was actually a boon. As Nuoth winged upwards, struggling for altitude and falling behind. But then she swung down into the canyon, and Futh's inability to climb quickly left him slightly ahead. Without hesitation, he clamped his wings to his back, plumetting towards the ground. It was a daring fall when they were already this close to the ground, but Futh did not take danger into account. If Nuoth could do it, he would try.
While Futh was considering his competition, M'kai was ignoring his. Even T'lor recieved only a flick of the eyes for his comment before he, too, was ignored. As long as Nephele wasn't swooning to such crude technique M'kai wasn't worried. He wasn't much of one for talking during flights (apparently), but he would if she liked that. He would see, he supposed. For now he simply waited, poised on the balls of his feet, ready to do whatever it was that Nuoth wanted.
And she wanted to dance, apparently. M'kai smiled, half-stepping forward. He wasn't really a good dancer, but he still loved it. Glancing briefly at the other males as she twirled into the center of the room, he made a flouishing bow and offered her a hand, still bent at the waist. He wouldn't simply grab her, not during a Flight, but he would dance to the beat of her dragon's wings if she was interested. He would even share, if other males wanted to dance as well.

Chaoth rumbled in pleasure. So many fine males had joined them! Nuoth was worthy of many more chasers than this, but he was still pleased. He did not wish for her beauty to go unnoticed. Truly she was a queen of the sky this day. Then all his thoughts were on her. He didn't care what the others did. It was un important. He rose higher in her wake, unsure what to expect. Would she fly higher or lower? Would she turn right or left? It was like a grand game and he longed to know the answer. Ah, she was going down! So quick and playful. Turning his body into a roll, he dropped after her. See, he could keep up just as well as the others!
Merridan grinned wolfishly. Nephele was such a playful one! Seeing her spin and twirl so invitingly made her heart rise with Chaoth's longing. Oh how she wanted to be her only partner in the dance. Completely obviously of her gender, she jumped up with an inviting wave. She would love to dance! She would even put up with the others. For now.

He tossed a momentary glance at the rest of the chasers as they arrived, noting first of all, their ages. Ismaroth found it amusing that it looked to be as if he was settled nicely in the middle. Far too often was he settled on the older end of the spectrum, which surprised him every time. It said something when a five turn old was the oldest in a group of chasers, Selenitas was crawling with young Dragons. Rumbling quietly as he glided on a current, Ismaroth waited idly for Nuoth to take off in one direction or another. She was a pretty Green, so young. Twitching his tail as the thermal picked up, the Brown swiveled his pinions and dove down farther into the canyon. He might not dance well, but he could move through the air just as fluidly.
By the time he reached the Flightrooms, he was panting. Running from the Infirmary to the innermost part of the Weyrs was not a simple task, what with the different flights of stairs and the people he had to dodge. Pausing the Brown put a hand on the doorway, catching his breath was essential. He took a few deep breaths before moving into the room beyond, eyes flicking over the faces inside. For a few seconds he hesitated at the very edge of the group and then deciding that it would probably be better if he moved closer, did so. He tried to pick a space that spared himself from being any closer to the other males than he needed to. He was there for Nuoth after-all.

After spilling the words the rider fell deeper and deeper into the spell of the flight, and with it his mouth came closed and his hideous glares made up for what wasn't being said. K'sel didn't care for other people anyway, but with Pettahth in the air his disdain only compounded and he couldn't help but linger towards the back of the pack and just be his usual self - only his hate was super charged. It was hard being attached to such an intense creature when you yourself were already...well awfully extreme from time to time (understatement of the year).
Pettahth paid little mind to the dragons around him. Yes, Ismaroth might be his wingleader, and Saboth older than he, but as for the rest of them they were othing more than hatchlings. Even younger than him! In flight induced pride, he saw Nuoth's clutchmates as nothing more than props and obstacles. Just scenery to fly around; their greeness only making him look that much more experienced. Because the brown was just soooo seasoned don't you know?
The dragon broke out of his easy going aerial flirts to follow the young green. Down, down, down into the canyon he would go, folding his wings into himself to create the most streamline form he could muster. Not hard for him, but apparently Futh weighed about ten firestone sacks more than he did, because even still he wasn't at the front of the pack. Not that this meant the end for him, the fun had only just started. K'sel still stayed in the back, subconsciously swaying. He could dance. He could dance better than all the others, but they couldn't see. Oh no. Not in his league.

The ground approached much too quickly, the green noticed a little sadly. Nuoth broke out of her dive as late as she could, turning sharply towards the waterfall that spilled into the canyon. She skimmed low to the bottom of the canyon weaving unseen patterns through the air easily. When she wasn’t far from the waterfall she twisted upside down and gazed at her chasers fondly. She was watching them now. Were her showoffs going to try and impress her again? Their efforts before hadn’t been in vain. She liked the fact that they were willing to show her what they were capable of too.
The crash of the waterfall was just ahead and she turned upright again before matching the water vertically. The mist on her heated hide felt good and she picked up the pace. Let them try and keep up with her! She slipped over the edge of the waterfall and she used the moment she disappeared from the view of her chasers to double back on herself and explode out from above them again. Boo. She was flying over the canyon now rather than within it. Perhaps a bit smugly she realized she’d have to choose a male for none of them would ever be able to catch her.
Nuoth slowed down a little bit and angled upwards towards the endless skies. The low sun gave the clouds an interesting colour and she intended to dance and play among them. She’d take her time getting there though. She flipped backwards again like she’d done in the beginning of the flight and wondered if she’d trick any of her chasers. She righted herself again and did a quick loop before she continued her ascent.
Nephele saw that F’lix still wasn’t very interested in her. She wondered what his purpose being there was. She was sorely tempted to go and take whatever it was that was distracting him but the arrival of E’rro spared the bluerider. Good! They were all present. She drifted over to where M’kai was and smiled at his outstretched hand. Her fingers brushed over his palm lightly and she giggled. She spun past him and over to Merridan. The girl leaned in close as if to kiss her but pulled away again playfully. They’d never catch her! She was too quick for them to do anything. E’rro, despite being late, had come further into the room than some of the others. He was good where he was and to illustrate that she swung around him with a hand on his waist.
The others though….They were too far away. No fun! F’lix was no longer allowed to do his paper folding as she sauntered up to him and snatched it away. Hers now! She tucked the paper into T’lor’s shirt after giving it a forceful tug. Then she turned her attention to the swaying K’sel. Silly brown. If he wanted to dance so bad he should just go ahead. She twirled around him until she was at his back. Her ushering of him into the room was considerably more direct than with F’lix or T’lor. She placed both her hands on his back and pushed. In, in, in. Then the real fun could begin.
