Celeyn stood waiting, noticing the newly Impressed boy move up as if to shield the girl. Not that it worked very well, she was bigger than him though at his small size it would not take much to overlap his stature. Trying her best to send out a wave of warmth, Celeyn could feel herself pull back slightly even unwillingly, she was not the warmest person and was not used to going out of her way to help people especially when she felt that she should not interfere in another's business. Looking around quickly to assess the available people in case the offer was rejected, Celeyn's eyes fell onto the Clutch. The last egg were hatching now. Unable to pull her eyes away right away, she watched the Dandelion Egg explode into action, revealing a haughty Green. A smirk changed the shape of her lips as she watched the green preen for another second. She felt a kinship with the Green, she knew how wonderful she was.
Turning away with a decisiveness she eyed some of the other Candidates around her, wishing luck to whoever the last Green Hatchling chose. Celeyn began to extend a hand but quickly rethought the movement, that was extending herself a little too far. Turning her hand back to pluck uselessly at her own clothes she silently debated what harm there was in displaying a little friendliness, helping. Rolling her eyes at herself, Celeyn chuckled quietly and began to extend a hand, she was not offering her life for the girl, simply extending help. But as her hand lifted she heard some quickly indrawn breathes warning of an approach. Swinging around quickly, dropping her hand to her side, Celeyn stepped to the side so that she could still see the girl and boy even as she faced the approaching Hatchling.
Celeyn's eyes rounded in disbelief. The Dandelion Green whom she had watched explode from it's prison. And it now stood before her, eyeing her and another girl Candidate. The Hatchling could not possibly be looking at her though. Celeyn quickly dismissed the idea, yet as her mind told her to forget it and tend to the girl, her heart demanded her to watch the Hatchling. As the Green approached, Celeyn stiffened uncontrollably. Memories flashed through her mind, images and feelings once again. They simply came and bombarded, all didn't points of her life. Her father letting her follow him once in a while. Seresta whispering out secrets dreams at night in the Candidate Barracks. Hyphen Hold. The people in Hyphen hold! She had promised to return- relatively soon. She lived there now. Yurrin, her neighbor's youngest boy, would be so mad when she did not return right after the hatching! Yurrin's toddler chubby body came flying down the lane to latch fiercely onto her. "Celeyn, I miss'd you! My brothers were so mean to me." The fond memory, softened her face before more memories flashed through her mind. the last Hatching. Before ugly memories could intrude the Green broke the spell.
Stepping forward to to sniff the other girl, Min, the Green screeched in hatred. Celeyn watched as another girl was mauled in the Hatching. Which brought Celeyn's mind back to the other girl who had been much more severely hurt. Celeyn had automatically twisted toward the injured girl but she was already scrambling off to leave the Sands. Left to face the Green, a haughty voice registered in her mind, crooning; Mine, you better your smart and feed your Foglith. You wouldn't want her to get too hungry.
Emotion blossomed throughout Celeyn. Their was the initial fear that sparked, the momentary regret that stung but it was quickly overwhelmed better feelings of happiness, awe wonder. The usual emotions that a newly Impressed would feel and yet they were all wondrous to Celeyn. For the time that existed between Foglith claiming her Bonded and Celeyn responding, they both stared and sized each other up. Each one felt the same about each other. Breathing out Celeyn whispered "Foglith" aloud. Foglith. I am bonded? How? Of course you are hungry. Of course we are bonded Mine. Who else would I pick, I could only have the best and I found the best in you. Unable to talk Celeyn stared, tears swimming in her silver eyes. Crouching down, Celeyn wrapped her arms around Foglith, two silent trails of tears dripped down her face.
