Well you just go ahead and remind yours that Mine does not control me, true dragons are not - eugh. If Lilu was looking, she would have seen a very substantial kick delivered to Arhenaiyth's left side. The blue bucked in response, but flattened out after that, sulking. The pair's performance went significantly downhill from there; there was obviously a private argument going on, and while T'ri was clearly receiving Lilu's hand signals and trying to execute, Arhenaiyth was clearly doing everything he could to get himself in the way of himself. Turning the wrong direction, bucking, or not performing maneuvers at all, no matter how much T'ri cursed and kicked and pleaded. For at least a minute, Arhenaiyth performed every maneuver perfectly but upside down, T'ri turning redder and redder and flailing ineffectively.
Once he was finally upright again, T'ri flashed a quick hand sign at Lilu - emergency landing. I swear to Faranth, Henny, if you don't land this instant you're not getting oiled for a whole sharding month. Get your ass on the ground. Finally, I thought you'd never come to your senses. The pair plummeted out of the sky, so suddenly that it almost looked like something really had gone wrong. Once they hit the ground, the Blue shook like he was trying to dislodge a pest, and T'ri unclipped and slid down his shoulder as quickly as possible. The blue then readied himself for takeoff, only T'ri's presence in his downstroke zone keeping him on the ground.

Lilu continued the training, watching with continued annoyance as the bluerider spent more and more time fighting for dominance with his dragon, until at last T'ri threw in the white flag and signaled for an emergency landing, nearly stalling out as Arhenaiyth plummeted quickly to the earth, Venideth pursuing and landing nearby.
Shaking her head in disgust as the dragon nearly dumped his rider off, only prevented from doing so by T'ri's riding straps, she said, "I see now that I have two problems to deal with in terms of training you... getting you to treat riding as an important an activity as your personal pursuits, and dealing with the obvious lack of control you have over your dragon. If you two cannot work together as one cohesive unit, when your minds are linked, there's no way you'll be able to be a successful part of a Wing, working with other, separate people and their dragons." Seeing the obvious tense nature of their stand-off, she added, "Get your dragon back under control, and we'll continue... if you cannot, we'll move on to plan B."

"Obvious lack of control?" T'ri snorted, but it was clear he was close to blowing up. The Bluerider rarely had the attention span for a strong emotion like anger, but today was different. He was at the end of his rope. "You try having this attached to your brain." He smacked Arhenaiyth's dappled hindquarters with one of the leather leads and the dragon hissed, sidling sideways and trying again to take off, only to be fouled once again by the proximity of the humans. "Seriously, if you can make Arhenaiyth behave when he doesn't want to you deserve my full attention," T'ri spat, taking a hold of the blue's straps so at least he had to stay and hear this. T'ri knew how much the petty arguments of humans bothered the Blue.
When Lilu mentioned plan B, though, T'ri deflated. "There's no point, now. You can try having Venideth talk to him but he's cut me off, he's gotta get through his hissy fit before we get anywhere." Backing out of Henny's wingspace, he dropped the straps and gently put a hand on Lilu's shoulder to back her up, too. "Let him go kill a couple herdbeasts and left off some steam. What's plan B?"

Lilu narrowed her eyes, and replied, "Oh, I could make your dragon behave when he didn't want to... if he was my dragon. Controlling a dragon requires a bond, and you're the only one who has that with him." Pointing at the twitchy blue, she continued, "Dragons, without bondmates, have almost no personality, no desire to do ANYthing... that's why they between if they cannot find their human to Impress to at hatching, because a dragon literally cannot survive without a human. So, your dragon is simply reflecting your flippant behavior and reluctance to follow authority... as long as you feel that way, he will." If the bluerider listened at all while he was barely coasting through Candidatehood or weyrling training, he would already know this, but it was hard to stop Lilu when she got into lecture mode.
It was clear the boy was unable to get his dragon under control, so Lilu waved dismissively to approve of his releasing the creature to wander off on its own as she said, "Fine, plan B then, since you seem unwilling to truly put your foot down and control your dragon." Smoothly dismounting Venideth, she presented his straps to T'ri as she said, "You will train atop Venideth. He knows the actions you're supposed to perform... and, unlike your own dragon, he has no interest in keeping you unharmed, which will hopefully keep your mind on task much better than when you're on your own dragon. If you can perform the strap and leg motions properly to direct a dragon that you aren't linked with under pressure, it should help make such actions automatic when you have the much easier task of riding one you can communicate mentally with."
