Kaiusk was less worried about Vivask’s pride and dignity and more worried about any physical injuries he had sustained. Fortunately, he seemed hale enough, if his pat on her leg was any indication. Eyes swirling with an amused blue and green, she settled down near her boy, content to let Kaius continue to oil her while the others in the room continued on. The gold was good just letting everyone continue on with their conversations, paying particular attention to the worrying about Sesk’s. She thought about going to fetch the girl herself, if only to make her sister happy, but was quite distracted from that when a very large man blundered in carrying a wriggling bedroll. Blinking, she watched as that bedroll turned out to be a covered up Cainsk!
She crooned at her brother as he came to greet them, blinking at Vivask’s explanation for a moment. She was slightly offended that her bronze brother would blame her dear human for the mess and narrowed her eyes at him, tendrils of yellow melting with the green. Not mine. She said very firmly in Vivask’s mind, tail flicking, smacking Kaius’ hand on accident. He uttered a cry of pain, but she ignored it in lieu of defending him. He’d be okay.
The entire time, Kaius was silent, oiling Kaiusk probably more than she needed. After all, he was new at this. He could add more oil than he needed to add quite easily. “ Maybe you should just leave her?” He said in response to the Serissa fiasco. “ If she doesn’t want to spend time with us, then we don’t need her here.” He said without looking up. They had been nothing but nice to the girl, and she had shown nothing but disdain to them in return. You could only be nice to someone so long before they just pushed the kindness away one too many times. He was kinda sick of it.
Then the subject of their earlier questions walked in, wher and all. The teenager stopped oiling Kaiusk long enough to watch the man with a friendly smirk on his face, only to be interrupted by Kaiusk’s tail smacking smartly against his hand. “ Hey! Watch it!” He said, pulling his hand away, but Kaiusk wasn’t listening. She was busy still staring at Vivask. Whatever. “ Hey Cainith.” Kaiusk greeted the large man, settling back on his heels just as another joined the party, another that Kaiusk was very happy to see.
As soon as Casansk bounded into the room, Kaiusk forgot about her ire at Vivask and stood up to greet her brother. Brownbrother! The gold practically beamed from head to tail. He tries. She said cheerfully at his compliment. He probably put enough oil on me for a few dragons, actually. She said, looking at one of her overly shiny forepaws. She agreed with Casansk’s idea readily, turning to her boy. Mylove, you need to teach Casansk’s how to oil him properly. Look, she doesn’t seem to be doing it well enough at all!
Kaiusk only stared, eyes shifting to Casandra. He didn’t want to insult her oiling abilities, but he really was putty in Kaiusk’s paws at the best of time. “ Hey Casandra.” He said to the girl. “ If you wanna join the party, we can teach you to oil Casansk really well.”

“Well,” Sena started sagely, to Vivano’s comment, and abruptly cut herself off at Cainith’s entrance, less because it automatically booted up whatever brain-to-mouth filter she might have and more because the man’s sudden appearance made Sensk, previously sprawled in comparative contentment, startle. The blue’s tail flicked nervously, and one of his wings clipped her shoulder, a short burst of his nervous fear response clicking Sena’s mouth shut. She threw a wide-eyed glance at Cainith, wrapping her arms around Sensk automatically with a brush of her hand for Sesk, not that the green probably needed the reassurance.
“Oh, hey,” she offered instead of whatever she’d been about to say (probably something along the lines of Well, diurnal people just don’t appreciate whers enough ever, even though it was essentially an exercise in hypocrisy since she was still trying to work out sleeping patterns as it was, and she sure hadn’t appreciated whers before Impressing Sensk anyway). And then, with a quirk of a grin at Cainith even though he still scared her, she tacked on to Vivano’s deadpan answer, “’s just a nice kinda bonus if people can fit in the swimmin’ pool too, we figured. And Syd’s busy bein’ a Healer, she ain’t gonna get off shift till…later.”
Then she turned to appraise Casandra with a careful, uncertain gaze; she’d never really been around the girl extensively, not before they’d Impressed and, bizarrely, not even much afterwards—she’d always just stuck with Sydney and Kaius, after all. Still, Sena offered a lopsidedly dimpled grin, pushing her knee gently into Sensk’s side to roll the wher in her lap sideways as she shifted to one side, offering, “If one of y’all wanna take a seat there’s probably room over here, that’s if you don’t mind Sensk’s tail maybe gettin’ all up in your face though?”
Anyway, couch was much more comfortable and considerably less oily than the ground, which was, as far as Sena could tell, two major points in favor of ignoring Sensk’s tail.
The wher, settling after his initial surprise, rumbled in playfully unapologetic amusement, eyes bright as he craned his neck around at Cainsk and Casansk. Hello brothers, he offered to the two of them, rearranging his head on Sesk’s back and blinking blue eyes at them, had they been summoned by the festivity then?
Sena, meanwhile, refocused on Cainith, raising an eyebrow at the man as she said, with complete irreverence, “We were just talkin’ about you, you’ve got real good timing.”

Cainith shrugged as Vivano responded, the large wherling not knowing his apartmentmate well enough to risk assuming the man was joking. "Seems like water would have been a less messy alternative," he responded, then moved over to the couch when Sena offered the seat, waving a greeting to Kaius and Cassandra as he skirted the oil puddle on his way to the couch.
He was a bit confused by Casandra's attitude, however... he remembered the few occasions he had been required to interact with her back when they were both Candidates that the young woman was short on niceties towards those she thought inferior to herself... which seemed to be most people. Perhaps Impressing a wher had finally grounded the young woman a bit, he considered silently as he thumped into the low couch (well, low to him at least), his great weight likely making Sena's end of the couch jump a bit off the floor.
"Thanks, Sena," he said after he verified the couch was taking his weight with a minimum of complaining creaks, "I hope I'm not taking up too much of the furniture." His comment was accompanied by a friendly smile, though the smile melted into a look of confusion as Sena made her admission, and he added, "Talking about me? What about? I didn't realize I was quite that interesting."
Cainsk, meanwhile, responded with greetings to all those who greeted him, though when he saw his favored brother Casansk, he sent a teasing visual of a buzz fly biting at Casansk's flank, followed by one of Casansk nuzzling the fly affectionately, mocking his brown clutchbrother's kindhearted nature as he always did. Looking at the puddle of oil, and seeing his clutchsiblings all getting oiled (or at least many of them), Cainsk sent an image to Cainith of himself cracking like a statue, then falling into dust and blowing away.
Cainith, putting the fur he had carried Cainsk into the room with over the back of the couch behind him, received the image and rolled his eyes at his wher's exaggeration. "Does anyone have an oiling cloth?" the giant man asked, looking around at the other wherlings.
