One of Z’ves’ eyebrows rose slightly as Micah moved, his body bracing for perhaps some kind of assault. That never came. Well then. The bluerider did not straighten from his stance immediately although his mind did turn over the reasons for the other suddenly lowering his weapon. Did he not want to turn this into an altercation after all? He words the trader offered caused the barest of twitches in the rider’s jaw. And what credentials could this one possibly have that would outweigh what Z’ves himself had? (lawls don’t answer that). Then Micah was leaving with a dismissive flick of his wrist even leaving the pike behind. Although Z’ves was pretty sure that the improvised spear was not the man’s only weapon, it still came across as…odd that he would leave the pike. Every time he thought he was starting to get some type of clue as to what this man was doing here the other went and messed it all up again.
Almost automatically the bluerider followed after Micah as he turned to walk deeper into cover, something that only further riled up Lucith. Still the blue dare not say anything about the stupidity of his rider’s actions. It was not the dragon’s place to comment. Certainly not. Although the beast skimmed the treetops once in anger, claws and snapping tail shredding the leaves before he again angled upwards.
Z’ves snorted dryly as he tailed after the trader. “Despotaeth? That might be a little difficult.” Given that the leading bronzer pair was gone, probably off on some errand or another. Besides what exactly would the bronze know about this rather easily irritated man? Hmmm. If anything it just had the bluerider more curious about just who his man was. Oh he could probably leave him be and just ask around the trade caravan. But how much fun would that be?
Still shadowing the man Z’ves lowered the dirk to his side and chuckled. “I doubt Despotaeth would be interested in what we had to say anyway. He has far more important things to do like keeping our lovely bad tempered queen safely wrapped around his claws.” Not that his forced company really cared about that, but the bluerider had decided that silence was boring. He was still curious about this man and as thus was resolved not to leave until he did get bored.

This had gone past annoying to irritating long ago. Z'ves wasn't even qualifying as a nuisance anymore. He was putting himself in danger. Micah seriously wanted to kill the man just to shut him up. Getting something of a headache from all these unnecessary questions. There was nothing that Z'ves could do to him and all the men with any actual authority over Micah he'd already dealt with. He had no intention of answering to someone he didn't have to. The ones he did have to answer to were bothersome enough.
"A war on trees," he murmured, his mouth quirking slightly as he glanced up at the snapping branches above. "Your blue makes a good point. It's stupid to go where he can't follow." Micah still wasn't looking at Z'ves. There was no need. He heard the footsteps following him well enough. The long hunting knife on his thigh was left alone. It was the bluerider's only real stroke of luck in this whole thing.
"Most of the Weyr has far more important things to do. That's the mark of important men. Important things to do. Then there are those who simply want to be important. They puff themselves up and demand things of people they have no authority to demand, all because they don't have enough things to do." Yeah, if Z'ves didn't pick up that Micah was referring to him, he was just plain stupid.
Then again, he'd already proved that, hadn't he?
And now the trader was done humoring the man. He'd been slowing his pace just a little to allow Z'ves to creep up on him without the bluerider really knowing. Now he stepped to one side and lashed out with a roundhouse to the man's wrist to cause the rider to lose the knife. With the steel in the toes of his boots, Z'ves would be lucky if his wrist didn't shatter.
His elbow swung around for the bluerider's face. It would definitely shatter his nose and probably knock the man completely out if it connected, but that wasn't really his aim. People tended to focus only on the face when something was flying for it. Micah's brought his knee into the man's kidney from behind in response to an anticipated flinch backwards. Now that would leave Z'ves pissing blood for a couple days.
Couldn't happen to a better guy.

The words from Micah where ignored by Z‘ves, the sound of snapping branches from above was not. Lucith. The tone was sharp. Stop that. The slate colored blue was not pleased. His overprotective instinct overriding everything but the firm verbal command that he was conditioned to obey. Winging higher the blue still circled, calm eyes for once awash with the yellow and orange of anxiety. The dragon didn’t like this. The man below was dangerous. An unconscious feeling that Lucith could not subdue. He wanted to catch that one in his claws and tear him up but his was making it impossible with his stupidity. Normally Z’ves wasn’t quite this reckless. Perhaps it was boredom that had the rider wanting to push things. Regardless Lucith was for once emotional.
And he had every reason to be. Z’ves gave a snort to Micah’s words eyes narrowing on the man’s back as he opened his mouth to reply. But suddenly the trader had lashed out in a vicious kick and the rider found himself reacting. Too slow to prevent the strike to his wrist the man cursed aloud as his weapon went flying. Before Z’ves could draw another weapon an elbow was flying for his face and almost without thinking the bluerider fell back to avoid it. Only to have pain shoot though his back as the man’s knee connected. Fuck.
The shot was momentarily crippling and Lucith gave a furious shriek from above. The shriek and rush of anger and adrenaline from his dragon had the rider below attempting to react in a bid to keep the other at bay. Pushing most of the pain onto Lucith for a moment the man struggled to clear his head. Hunched as he was Z’ves was able to pull knife from his boot with a trembling hand, slashing outwards with it where he thought Micah to be. A desperate attempt to keep the other at bay as he forced himself to move before the pain returned full force. He obviously wasn’t going to be in a position to attempt any actual retaliation soon.
Lucith wasn’t in any better of a situation, none the less, the blue literally attacked the treetops above in insane fury. Wings momentarily catching on branches before the dragon pulled upwards and then resumed the attack, voicing his fury in an angry roar. Perhaps he would tear up wing membranes a little, or tear his own hide in the process of trying to get to his bonded and his attacker. However, in the sole desire to get to his, Lucith had little to no regard for his own body. He never had.
Lancelot seemed to be of similar mind as he also gave a furious trill, his little body seeking to wiggle out of the pocket so he could get at the assailant. No! No. baaad. Bite. He exclaimed aloud. Finally freeing himself enough so that he could flare his frill at Micah.

Everything went much as he'd expected it would. The blade dropped to the ground with no further convincing necessary. Micah wasn't positive that the damage done to the wrist would keep the other man from using it, but the absence of a knife was enough for the moment. Elbow to the face avoided, kidney shot landed, and an angry blue attacking the treetops in futility. Yup. It more or less went exactly as he'd anticipated it would.
The wild slash was deflected easily with a push from Micah's leg and the blade cut through empty air. He then thrust forward against Z'ves's shoulder with his hip. With the bluerider already in an off-balance position, it should be more than enough to put the man on his knees. Micah finally drew his own blade and set it at the bluerider's throat.
"You don't listen well. Even if I didn't have any right to be here, there's nothing you could do about it. So why don't you do yourself a favor and use the few brain cells your whore mother saw fit to give you? Get away. It irritates me when there's nothing around to kill." The threat wasn't an idle one. Nevertheless, Z'ves was something of a last resort when it came to sating his bloodlust; the man was so easy to kill he'd only satisfy that addiction for a candlemark or two. It wasn't really the blood so much as the adrenaline Micah was addicted to.
"Actually..." The man shifted his weight slightly while still crouched behind the man. "You've proved you have no common sense whatsoever. I don't know why I'm even bothering with you right now." And with that he drew the blade back and whipped it forward. Instead of slashing through his throat as he probably should have, though, the trader aimed the hilt for the man's temple.
He was done playing games with this one.

The wild attempt at a defense deflected Z’ves tried to come up with another strategy to keep himself alive. However through the haze of pain, Lucith’s anger, and the broadcasting form his mandyr he felt like his head was about to explode. Mind mates where a pain in the ass sometimes and this was a clear example of why. Trying to control them while keeping himself alive wasn’t going to work so he released his hold on the dragon above fully. Wouldn’t do any good to try and keep him back anyway. He thought to maybe grab at Lancelot but the pain in his wrist didn’t allow it. Thus the mandyr to was left to his own devices. If it died it died. Probably bad for him but there really was nothing be could do.
Finding himself on his knees with a knife to his throat the bluerider gave a smile. Brain cells his whore mother gave him? What mother. The only woman who he may have ever called mother died by his own hands and she gave him nothing. Well now the trader had something to kill didn’t he? Perhaps this was retribution for all the lives Z’ves himself had taken. If so then he held no remorse. It was what it was. If there was no way to prevent it there was no way to prevent it. He’d just fade away like all they did. But at least there would be some that remained that had his mark. That was all that mattered. He’d still live till they themselves died. Swallowing against the blade and feeling it cut into his own neck the bluerider almost gave a humorless laugh but the haze of pain prevented it.
What was the other waiting for? That was his last conscious thought as the hilt hit his temple and the rider slumped to the ground. Lancelot had gotten free by this point and he reared up on his bonded’s unconscious form, frill fully flared as he spat and hissed viciously in Micah’s direction. Bad. Bad. Bad. Ma’am bad. Lucith, by proxy, had had quite about enough of the whole thing and so with little regard for whether the trees below could actually support his weight or not the blue redoubled his efforts to claw his way through the canopy and then simply folded his wings and crashed into it. If he could get a hold of the little maggot who was attacking his he would rend him apart.
(If you want to respond feel free otherwise consider this one ended ^^)
