"Yes, the morning's best. It would be a good idea to start now; I plan to have the whole wing running to and from drills, and that should be starting shortly." He smiled mildly. It wasn't something that was done at the northern weyrs - mostly because it wasn't exactly safe to go running around the countryside - but Selenitas had the luxury of being apart from the heat of the war. "Probably after Millieth rises and we have the proper number of weyrleaders again. It's about her time...if you stay, I wish Kierjaarth luck." Mostly because he wasn't particularly keen on playing weyrleader again, and the other options weren't exactly stellar.
Salenth would Chase, though. Mostly because S'rei had no real excuse to leave. There was too much to do to lose a couple of days close to Millieth's Flight, and with such a small pool it really wouldn't be right to take Salenth out of the running. Not that the bronze would allow it. He was beginning to feel her pull, he was, and it was pretty much too late anyway.
"I usually run to the beach in about...a quarter of a candlemark. But the goal for the wing is under half a candlemark. Some of the women are rather small." Which still put a mile somewhere between seven and eight minutes, but that was better than less than five like S'rei usually ran. He had a very long stride, and a good set of lungs that served him well. Nor was he old enough to be slowing down too much, at least as far as longer runs were concerned. Sprints? Yes, he wasn't as fast.
Do you have to give my life history? Everyone knows about the hatchlings. Especially the noisy one, Salenth returned easily, unperturbed. You will likely have some before long, the bronze stated generously, though it probably wasn't true. Unless the gold didn't favor certain dragons, they tended to stick with mates, especially here at Selenitas. Of course, this didn't seem to be true with Millieth...though she had rather poor luck. Her bronzes usually didn't last to the next Flight.
