S'rei blinked at Mi'rah. Sometimes he couldn't be sure if the other man was joking or not, when it came to these things. He'd like to think the bronzerider wasn't so insecure as all that, but, well, it was Mi'rah, so it was possible that he meant the stuff about makeovers and highlights seriously. Either way, mention of blonde had the slightly older man wrinkling his nose. "You could choose better colors if you're insistent on washing your hair in chemicals," he teased mildly. Which wasn't to say it wasn't meant.
Nodding, S'rei smiled slightly. Mi'rah might have found it odd that the other bronzerider was genuinely pleased to hear that his contemporary thought the current arrangement of Centurio was a good idea. S'rei knew that Mi'rah's grasp on strategy exceeded his own, however, and would always defer to the other man's judgment (for the most part) on such matters. As long as politics weren't involved.
"Yes. The challenge I've run into is trying to develop a system that works just as well in Threadfall as in fighting...because we don't have enough wings to cleanly separate them out. Too much independence in Threadfall tends to have negative effects. I'll keep you updated, though." Just as he'd keep updated on Ephemerae, which was somewhat easier than keeping tabs on Legatus. Ephemerae, however, was meant to be a pretty generic fighting wing. S'rei didn't really want all the details on Legatus. All he really needed to know from Ka'rys was what they were capable of so he could use them if he needed to. Legatus was something of a 'the ends justify the means, I don't care about the methods just get it done' sort of wing.
Or a dumping grounds for riders who didn't fit in with other wings due to a certain viciousness - or simply because they weren't (and couldn't be) fully trusted. Which put rather more faith in Ka'rys than S'rei was likely to acknowledge. Or than the former Fort bronzerider was likely to realize. S'rei had long since come to terms with the fact that Ka'rys was not and never would be someone he could... Well, to put it simply, the same thing that kept S'rei attempting to bridge the gulf between them and find for himself someone he could be completely open with, no agenda attached - the paranoia and resistance to S'rei's normal methods of dealing with (let's be honest, manipulating) people - prevented him from ever getting close enough to try. It was singularly frustrating.
But again, long since accepted.
S'rei had his chess pieces, and would trust Ka'rys with his. It had worked well enough for them thus far. To a point. He drummed his fingers along his knee. "Hate you, love you, as long as they follow and respect you...it doesn't matter." A flash of teeth that was almost more feral than a genuine smile. "Cliff diving." Hopefully in a place without rocks at the base of the cliff. Lots of things that could go wrong there, as with the speed drills through the trees he'd heard about, but S'rei was hands-off with his wingleaders until they proved he needed to get involved. "Well, we'll see about funneling more bronzeriders to you...once we get more. If they fit. Ciceroth doesn't work with other bronzes at all. He and Salenth get along surprisingly well but...that's about it. And S'kor's young to handle another bronzerider. So you'll get priority."
