'Cause you and tequila make me crazy... Run like poison in my blood... One more night could kill me, baby... One is one too many, one more is never enough...
Chin up. Shoulders back. Really Roselle-mine, you must work on your posture.I wasn't aware my posture had a direct effect on you little one.Of course it does! If people perceive you to be weak, that reflects on what they will think of me as well. Obviously. You are much too much for me Tserieth.I would not have picked you if I thought you couldn't handle me, Roselle-mine.I think that was almost a compliment.Almost.Rolling her eyes Roselle wandered with her Green into one of the many inner caves of the Weyr, following a stream as it flowed through. "We're likely to get lost you know." Tserieth snorted and gave a shake of her head. We will not. Arhenaiyth and his wander around all the time and have not lost themselves."How do you know what they do?" I watch them slip off when you're doing chores."Spying on people isn't very lady like you know." I do not spy. I observe.Roselle shook her head and sat on a smooth rock in almost the center of the wide cave area. Sometimes she wondered how of all the people on Pern she had been the best match for Tserieth. She was a pain in the arse most of the time, though Roselle still loved the little Green. "Remind me, which one is Arhenaiyth?" Blue."How very descriptive. I suppose if I ask again you'll mention he's a dragon as well, aye?" To this the Green gave no response, it seemed the conversation was beginning to bore her as she'd now started to wander around on her own. Roselle watched as the Green wandered into the darker areas of the cave and called out, "Stay where I can see you! Not all of us can see in the dark." Pity.Glaring in Tserieth's direction Roselle decided her dragon could probably handle herself, so rather than arguing with the Green she laid back. The smooth rock was cool against her back, where her shirt had crawled up her skin a bit. Sighing she found her eyes closing as she listened to the stream and the sound of Tserieth clumsily hobbling around.

Tserith-sister?[/i] Arhenaiyth asked, likely startling both T'ri and Tserith, and Roselle too if her dragon happened to pass on the greeting. T'ri and Arhenaiyth had just entered the gloomy caverns, one of their favorites (T'ri because the acoustics were interesting, Arhenaiyth because there was a stream to bathe in if he chose, and a particular rock that made an excellent couch), and the Weyrling asked aloud, "Tserith is here... I can't see anything. Roselle must be here too, then."
I imagine so, foolish T'ri. You're here with me, after all, as much as I wish you were stuck back in the room with nothing to eat. It just seems like it would be entertaining.[/i]
T'ri adjusted his mauve neck-wrap and lenseless flight goggles, tousling his hair as he strode confidently into the dark. Arhenaiyth could see quite well in the dark, but it was grey enough in here T'ri could still see where he was going. As he went, he unholstered his flask, taking a swig of what it contained... and grimacing. Someone had told him it was bad to drink when you had a baby dragon, and as much as T'ri didn't give a shit what anyone said, he couldn't quite bring himself to purposefully damage his baby dragon. Not that much, anyway; the stuff in the flask was still alcoholic, just not as strong as T'ri's drinks usually were. He'd spent the last month or two in a perpetual state of being just a little drunk, but not nearly as drunk as he'd like to be. It suuuucked.
As Arhenaiyth stumbled off to find Tserith - the blue was getting more graceful every day, but he was still practically a baby - T'ri set off into the dark, intending to finally track Roselle down. She seemed way more awesome than Isori, and now that Bevany hadn't impressed, he figured he'd better go about getting to the top of the Weyrling social pile. He'd heard her voice coming from somewhere over here... and, shortly, there she was. "Oh hey, Roselle. I didn't know you were over here."

Arhenaiyth and his come. Tserieth informed Roselle - though she had waited until she could tell the sounds of the other pair moving about were putting Roselle on edge to let her know.
I still don't know which one that is.
Blue. As I said.
Before she could sit up and look around in the very dimly lit cavern, a voice spoke out above her. Jumping slightly she regained her composure and squinted up at T'ri, "Fancy meeting you here. Tserieth was just talking about you two."
You did not have to tell him that., Tserieth shot to her bonded before she spoke to her clutch brother. Arhenaiyth.
Dipping her head slightly at the Blue she gave a quiet croon and turned her slender body so he'd be at her side when he reached her. Glancing towards the humans she tilted her head when she saw T'ri take a swig from his flask. Curious.
He is lonely. the Green confided in Roselle.
Ha! You do not even know him. You do not know if he is lonely or not. You cannot keep making decisions about people's lives and personalities based on a mere moment of inspection.
Hmph. You shall see.
Sitting up Roselle slid over slightly in case T'ri decided to join her on the rock, "What brings you here? Avoiding chores or something else important?" Her tone had a biting edge to it, though still was somewhat playful. She couldn't afford to be overly rude to the only person around her age who seemed even somewhat interested in getting to know her - even if he was a lazy slacker.

"Ah," T'ri said when Roselle mentioned that she'd been talking about him, brightening up a little. There was very little T'ri like to talk about more than himself. Flopping down next to her rock, the long-legged Weyrling unslung his guitar and stretched out, pillowing his head on the stone next to her thigh so he could contemplate the void. "Well, I'm a pretty deck subject." That little line of ego was delivered with a slight turn of his face so he could glance up and back at Roselle, a smile charmingly pulling up one corner of his mouth.
Wriggling a little so he was more comfortable on the slightly sandy (but none the less stone) floor, he ran a hand through his pouf so it didn't flop over his face, cutting off his view of the brunette. "And I'm not avoiding, avoiding implies that I care about the task, where I am clearly not attending lessons and chores as an active statement asserting my individuality and personal rights, and because I am refusing to conform to the creativity- and soul-crushing mainstream. Arhenaiyth is a natural being, as am I - who would presume to teach a feline how to hunt. We will become dragonriders naturally so as to maximize our potential. I won't have him turned into a brainless automaton by some institutionalized 'Lessons', nor will I directly deny his natural urges by leaving his side to attend 'Chores'."
If that mouthful sounded pompous and awful, T'ri canceled the snobbery with another one of those big, charming smiles, and added, "But that's like, super deep. We can talk about me instead, or you. You seem pretty deck too, like you maybe understand how the lamestreamers are trying to stamp out the light inside all of us." Yeah, T'ri was the master of coming on a little strong, but it was too late for Roselle. She'd been claimed. Offering her the flask, he asked, "Drink."
What are you doing here, sister-mine?[/i] Arhenaiyth asked Tserith, his tone just short of straight sarcasm. To anyone but the most self-confident, it would sound like he didn't give a flying fuck what she was doing here, but T'ri could detect a slight difference - Arhenaiyth liked his siblings, as much as the Blue seemed to like anyone. Not that I care, you could be here to start an avalanche and bury yourself alive, that's chill. Just let me know, I'll get mine out. We'll all be dead anyway, but like, I'd rather stick around a bit. Despite the morbid, dry words, Arhenaiyth angled his tone so he was walking right next to Tserith, his hip and shoulder and wingtip brushing hers. I was going to, I dunno, maybe see if the water was cold or something.[/i]

"Natural. Right. So the first time you two try and between and you end up being lost forever since you never learned to properly focus... We'll be sure to remember you as being the 'non-conformist' who just wanted to be 'natural'." She really was trying to be nice, really she was. It was just a bit hard when someone presented themselves as being 'too good' to do things that were designed to benefit him and his dragon. "Personally I feel the time away from Tserieth when I'm doing chores helps strengthen our bond. I know no matter where I am she is there, and I am there for her as well. Distance between us physically only makes us rely less on physical cues so we learn how to communicate on a deeper level - if that's possible with a being sharing the same mind as you."
Taking the flask from him she took a swig and then held it back for him - she'd realized a bit too late that it was alcoholic. Not strong for him, but for someone who wasn't used to drinking at all it had a bit of a kick to it. She could have laid into him about the dangers of drinking while his dragon was so young. She wanted to, but she knew it'd go in one ear and out the other. Besides, she reminded herself, she needed to try and make at least one friend in this foresaken place. Even if he was a pompous and irresponsible jerk.
Exploring. No avalanches, do not worry brother-mine. Tserieth responded in an equally dry tone - her bonded's reaction to his bonded was bleeding into her interaction with her brother. Not that she would have been bubbly and happy even if Roselle hadn't been fighting the urge to mess up T'ri's poofy hair and wipe that handsome grin off his face. Wait... handsome?
Eyes squinted slightly as she looked down at him. Sure. Fine. Whatever. She thought he was a bit handsome. It didn't change the fact he was conceited and didn't care about anyone but himself. Because he thought he was just that cool.
"There isn't much to talk about when it comes to me, you'd probably find yourself a more interesting subject to speak on anyway." The bite in her tone was softened by her full lips curling into a half smile.
Swim? Might be nice., the green replied tothe blue as her tail flicked behind her. In the dark her eyes swirled an array of oranges, blues, and greens - though it was doubtful anyone else would notice.

"Right," he confirmed, momentarily ignoring her sarcasm (although he noted it, appreciating). "Flits do it, anyway, the wild ones, without Impressing. The first Dragonriders learned to do it, too, with no one to tell them that it was even possible but the dragons themselves, I guess. We've come too far from our roots; if we don't return to a pre-institutionalized state, we might never progress. How long have riders been going between, anyway, with no improvement. I just want to feel it the way they felt it." For a moment there, T'ri actually seemed to care; his eyes lit up, staring off into the darkness like he could see back through time. "All the world's just an illusion, anyway. If we go, we go. At least it's not because some institution that thinks it knows better failed us. Arhenaiyth understands."
It was true, too. The Blue privately agreed with his rider, then turned what attention he had back to Tserith, lengthening his awkward stride a bit so he reached the water's edge before her. Swim? I don't know about that, I know there's only a few feet of water but I'll probably drown.[/i] If that didn't get the laugh Arhenaiyth expected, he didn't seem to notice. Just going to put my feet in. Maybe the rest of me later. Haven't decided.[/i] Dipping a forepaw in the river water, Arhenaiyth began the slow process of submerging himself. So,[/i] he asked as he glanced back at the humans. What does yours think of mine?[/i]
"And," he added, taking the flask back, taking a sip himself, and putting it away, "That sounds good for you, being apart and all. Sounds like you guys are tapping in to some deeper essence. Not with me and Arhenaiyth, though, he hates being away from me." Something like love crossed T'ri's face when he looked over towards his blue; deep caring, belied by his words, maybe, but it was there. It was accompanied by a flash of annoyance from the Blue. "Oh, maybe hates is a strong word."
Laying flat, T'ri laced his fingers behind his head, one elbow brushing Roselle's thigh. "Dunno. As I said, I'm pretty deck, but how am I supposed to find out what else is deck in this back-woods Weyr if I don't ask around. They aren't letting me message my friends at Blossom, so I'm like, totes behind on what's what. I mean, for all I know, everyone's wearing mauve outside Burimyu. Tell me something about you," here he elbowed her gently, "Maybe you're solid and you just don't know it yet."

"And what if mauve is all the rage outside of these walls? You'd follow others doing that, something as silly as fashion, but not do things necessary to ensure you and your dragon become full riders capable of doing everything like everyone else can?" She teased, though there was still a bit of a sharpness to her tone. Feeling his elbow brush over her thigh she blushed ever so slightly - though it was dark and he wouldn't see it. Maybe it was alcohol, she wasn't used to it like he was. Yes. That must be it. Definitely wasn't him making her blush. Not at all.
Tserieth's tail swayed as she watched her clutch-brother step into the water first. She didn't waste time when she reached the water, making her way into it as far as she could before turning and looking at him. Frustration. Though she does find him attractive.
The Green spoke only to the Blue when she said this, knowing if her rider heard she'd be upset - though she didn't know why. Humans were silly in the Green's opinion - all their hiding things from each other.
Roselle looked at T'ri and arched a brow, "I don't know what there is to tell about me. I came from Hyphen Hold - where men are not concerned at all with fashions and the only 'solid' things there are the rocks in the mines. Father tried to marry me off to a few dimglows but luckily accidents in the mines kept me from having to go through with them. I can cut gems and make some jewelry - nothing very interesting to you I'm sure. That bimbo Tenlie Searched me, failing to mention we were coming to Burimyu... And here I am. Tserieth informs me you're lonely, by the by. She saw you drinking, she thinks you're interesting."
Oh, Roselle had heard her Green alright - and while she knew her dragon wouldn't be embarrassed by her sharing her thoughts with the other weyrling she felt it was only fair. If Tsereith was going to betray what Roselle was thinking and possibly feeling - though she still insisted to herself it was just the drink - to T'ri's Blue, then Roselle would tattle about Tserieth to T'ri. Fair is fair.
Fingers drummed lightly over the surface of the rock she was lounging on, falling near her hip before she pushed to sit up fully. Looking down at T'ri, as best she could in the low light, she reached out and brushed a stray lock of his hair from his face. "Oh, sorry, was that part of your 'look'?"

"You think you know me, don't you," T'ri asked in the oddly noninflected speech he always used; there was no judgement in his tone, though. Instead it was all curiosity, as if Roselle were a particularly interesting specimen of human rather than a fellow weyrling, fairly regular as she told it. "Think you have me pegged. Shells no, if mauve was all the rage outside these walls this neckerchief would be the first thing to go, followed by all my other pale purples and probably my greys and pinks, too. And my neckerchiefs, those are on their way in anyway. No good. If the lamestreamers are wearing it, I don't want it. I'm my own man, and I express that through my 'look'," he added, with a cheeky smile as he ruffled the bangs she'd brushed away back into place.
Of course, he'd caught that touch, though, oh so unsolicited. Interesting development. You frustrate her,[/color] Arhenaiyth sneered, Tserieth says so. Is that so? T'ri asked, mindvoice smug. You'll learn soon enough, Henny, that when you frustrate a girl she is about 95% more likely to sleep with you. Proven statistic. It's a good thing to know. Arhenaiyth, the Blue corrected, then turned his attention back towards his green sister, not bothering to mute himself from T'ri. The weyrling wasn't paying attention anyway. Attractive? Really? I find him totally insufferable, the blue said, then added, But I suppose I tolerate him, and that has to say something for his many virtues. I suppose attractiveness is one of them, humans have always looked strange to me, without wings and tails. So soft and stick-like. Mine finds Yours interesting, and worth his time, which is also saying something.[/i]
Abruptly, Arhenaiyth took a few strokes out into deeper water, pulling his feet up so he floated lazily downstream. As he drifted into Tserieth's personal space, he asked, So which dragon is your favorite? Me excepted, of course, as that's hardly fair. Gossip. Arhenaiyth certainly liked his gossip, as much as he didn't seem to care about another living soul ever. Had Tserieth volunteered tidbits, he certainly would have dismissed them, but he'd asked, so it was ok.
"Basically what I'm trying to say here is I don't follow, in fact I actively reject being a follower. Me and Henny will be capable riders, we'll just take a different path. Of course I doubt The Man will recognize that, but, you know, say la vee." He had no idea what that expression meant, of course, but he'd heard it used in a similar context at some point, so ha. If Roselle had to ask, she obviously wasn't in the know.
"Ugh, Hyphen sounds dreadful, all that institutionalization crushing individuality. I'm surprised you came out as interesting as you did... then again," he corrected, pushing himself into a sitting position so he could more effectively regard her with an attractive head tilt. "That's pretty deck, the gem-cutting. Not hall-trained, sounds like. Way to fight The Man. Grassroots industry and all that. See, you're more interesting than you thought, and also more deck. So I guess I'm not lonely any more, if I ever was. There's just a serious deficit of awesome people here. It was Neffel-something that searched me, hot but just as fast and loose with the facts as your Tenlie. Haven't met her, I don't believe. Don't believe I wish to." With a distinctly charming (if somewhat sideways) smile, he leaned in, one hand sliding to the ground just in front of Roselle's knee. He was close, just hovering on the edge of too close. "Tserieth thinks I'm interesting, does she. Well, Henny digs you. Sounds to me like we've got pretty smart dragons."

You assume much, brother-mine. Tserieth snipped at the Blue before her tail swayed in the water, causing her to turn towards him. He is a Brown. That was all she would offer for now, if he cared to know he'd inquire further. If not, then she would keep it a secret.
Roselle leaned back a bit when T'ri came so close to her. He was testing her limits, she knew he was. While he may not care to follow rules, even ones set for the well being of his dragon, she did. The raven haired young woman wasn't about to let some cute guy muck up her reputation or somehow ruin her dragon with his flirting - Tserieth was too young to handle any kind of physical romance, even if it was her bonded's romance and not her own. Surely even T'ri knew that, he was so infuriating sometimes!
Yet that smile... Without thinking about it, Roselle bit on her bottom lip, pulling it in slightly as she looked at him. Shards and shells. What had been in that flask anyway? After a long moment of silence she reached up to tuck some of her hair behind her right ear, "So... you're from Blossom then? Would explain a lot, I hear they're pretty free spirited around those parts."
As long as she was talking, and kept him talking, nothing would happen. Though if he hadn't tricked her into drinking alcohol - she was still blaming all of this on the small drink she'd had - then this wouldn't be happening at all. He was so irresponsible. So aggravating.
So different. Tserieth finished for Roselle, her tone was rather smug.
Hush, least I tell him you like Kaaoloth.
Liar.
Roselle found herself rolling her eyes a bit and glancing in the direction she knew the dragons were - not that she could see either of them. "I'm glad she has some company to keep her from telling me what she thinks of every person she comes across. Though at times it is amusing, and correct." The last bit was added as she looked back at T'ri in the dim light. Tserieth had probably been right about him after all, the things she'd said today and things she'd said before - though Roselle wasn't about to divulge just how much her dragon had said about him.

I assume nothing, except that you like your face the way it is,[/i] he purred, stretching his lips into a wide, rather dangerous smile that bared all of his teeth. It was just an exercise in making faces, though; he dropped it almost as soon as he made it. Tserieth was speaking again, anyway, and he didn't currently feel the need to interrupt. A brown? You simply can't mean Ontehth,[/i] he drawled, savoring the word 'can't' as if it were the best word ever. No, it caaaaan't be. Perhaps it is power you enjoy?[/i] he asked, making that sound like the most distasteful thing in the world. Ismaroth, perhaps?[/i]
T'ri stayed where he was for a solid minute, even after it was clear Roselle wasn't about to make out with him or whatever. Eventually, though, he readjusted, so he was stretched out in front of her, leaning on one elbow. He didn't let her get away entirely, though; reaching out half absently, he started tracing odd symbols on her kneecap. Nothing particular, just little traces, light enough that they'd tickle just a bit. If she didn't like it she could stop him (by grabbing his hand, of course). "Blossom? No," he said in answer to her question. "Selenitas, first. Weyr not hold. Thought I was headed back there, but they brought me here instead. Super lame," he added, as if she hadn't gotten that already.
The Greenweyrling's glance towards Arhenaiyth and Tserieth pulled T'ri's attention that way, too - The blue reached out to nuzzle his sister before he drifted too far out of reach, and T'ri found his hand tightening on Roselle's knee. Making a face, he sat up again, out of her personal space this time. Sure, Roselle had a good body, and he'd hit that if he could (if only to prove that he could), but it was weird as all hell to have his dragon making him do things. Didn't feel right, and that called for a drink. Uncapping the flask again, he took a deep swallow, passing it over to Roselle before answering her. "Mm. It is occasionally sweet not to have Henny debating the best way to flood the Weyr and drown everyone in it, I'll have to agree. He has something, funny, about siblings I guess. Hearts them all, just doesn't want to be anywhere near them unless they come to him, or happen to be somewhere he wants to be. Guess it's pretty solid that you found us," he said, reclaiming the flask for another sip before handing it back Roselle's way, not really caring if she was drinking or not. "Amusing and correct?" he repeated then, raising one eyebrow. "And what, exactly, has she said besides that I'm lonely and interesting?"

Of course not, neither of those. A different Brown. Tserieth replied, a bit of a teasing tone to her mind-voice. She sincerely doubted her clutchbrother would guess which Brown she had in mind - especially since he and His never attended their lessons. When he nuzzled her she returned the gesture before he was out of reach, crooning softly.
"So you were at Selenitas but left? Why would you leave if you wanted to Impress?" Roselle asked as she watched his finger trace odd symbols over her knee. Her leg twitched as it tickled a bit but before she could move away his grip tightened, then loosened. He moved away and she regarded him with a curious look. "Something wrong, T'ri?"
As he began talking again she shook her head at his question, "Does it matter what she's said about you? If she wanted you to know, she'd tell you I'd think." She took drinks when he offered them, small sips though, as she still felt a weeee bit tipsy from the first drink. And now she was beginning to feel warm inside, oh bother.

Well, there were only so many brown dragons in Burimyu, so now Arhenaiyth had about a 1 in 5 shot of guessing which one was Tserieth's favorite, but he was done with this game, for now anyway. He had a sneaking suspicion it was Kaaoloth, anyway (who'd like Jagjith, after all? And Chaoth was pink, not brown, and how would she ever even meet Trilaranth? Maybe Frosstyth, but she would have had the most to do with Kaaoloth), so he'd go with that. Just because he didn't actually know any of those browns didn't mean he didn't know about them. Paddling back towards his sister so he could swim a tight loop around her, he said, Denial is the surest way to tell who likes who, sweet sister. Closing the circle and spiraling inward so he brushed slightly closer to Tserieth on each revolution, Arhenaiyth chanted in a totally dry deadpan, Tserieth and Ontehth, sittin' in a tree, K I S S I N G. First comes love...
"Something's wrong, yeah," the Weyrling said, brow furrowing as he found himself scooting closer to Roselle as Arhenaiyth circled Tserieth. "It's just... weird to have a dragon attached to your head. He keeps making me do things, not that I wouldn't do them anyway, it's just, I guess I never liked other people telling me what to do. I don't like it any more when it's coming from inside my head." Shaking his head quickly, as if to clear it, he sighed slightly, and added with an incredibly charming smile, "Guess I'll just have to give him what he wants." The spot on the rock Roselle had initially cleared for T'ri was still there, and he took it now, hip and thigh pressing against hers as he stretched out his legs, crossing one arm behind her to prop a hand on the rock so he could hold himself up.
"There, maybe he'll leave me alone now. Actually, I never wanted to impress - everyone wanted to impress. Way too mainstream. My brother sold out and went to Harper Hall, but they wouldn't - I mean, I didn't want to go. Then all the rest of my friends sold out, and my mom started getting on my case, so I decided to try the wandering life for a while. Spent time with a tithe caravan, until I found some sweet people at Blossom. And then, well, you know the rest. Guess I sold out too, but at least it's the least mainstream Weyr on Pern." Poking Roselle in the side - it was a light, playful poke, meant to tickle not hurt - he added, "Well, she told Henny I frustrate you, and he promptly told me. I figure frustration is a decent place to start a friendship, at least you don't hate me outright."

Tserieth gave a low huff and flailed her wings a bit in the water, splashing her clutchbrother. Shaking her head from side to side she regarded him with eyes that swirled shades of orange and green all at once, You are childish. However as he brushed against her the orange in her eyes turned to blue and she crooned, apparently she couldn't stay mad at him even if he was annoying.
As T'ri moved next to her and his arm sneaked behind her for him to lean on she looked over at him, cheeks a light shade of rosy red. Smiling a strand of hair found its way from behind her ear and fell in front of her face, but she ignored it for the time behind to look at him and listen. "He likes Tserieth doesn't he?"
Then he was talking some more - he did talk a lot, didn't he? At mention of his brother she couldn't help but jump in, "Harper Hall eh? Is your brother as cute as you?" Yeah, even three sips of alcohol was enough to get cold Roselle flirting - hopefully he kept the flask to himself from now on.

I am a child, am I not?[/i] Arhenaiyth drawled. They were only a few months old, after all, and still short of maturity by another half-turn or so. As much as His might like him to be mature, Arhenaiyth had decided he would be taking his time about it; he'd be mature when he was mature, and not a moment sooner. Splashing a wave of water at Tserieth with a wing, he ducked under. It wasn't really deep enough for him to swim under his green sister, so Arhenaiyth brushed a forepaw against her feet before popping up in a totally unexpected place... and spitting a mouthful of water at Tserieth (as well as a dragon could spit, anyway. It was more like tossing water at her with his mouth). She wanted childish? He could be childish. Once his mouth was empty, he hopped back to guessing without any warning. Kaaoloth.
"Arhenaiyth," T'ri almost-asked, glancing over towards where the dragons were playing in the river, even though he couldn't really see them in the dark. "Somthing about his sibs, man, I dunno. Loves all of 'em, even though he'll probably gripe at me for using the word love. Tserieth, though... I think he likes how much she thinks, if you can use the word 'like' in a sentence with anything Henny does." Yup, T'ri did talk a lot... some could argue that it was just because he liked the sound of his own voice, but T'ri would swear that it was just because he was really interesting.
"Mmmhm, Harper Hall," he confirmed, then turned his head away from Roselle to snort. Didn't exactly want to snort right into her face, after all, and they were sitting rather close. "As cute as me. No chance. He generally has more of the hippy/hobo look going on, I'm much more clean-cut. And taller. And more stylish. And skinnier." After that exceedingly humble list of his virtues, there was nothing for it but to lean in, brushing that stray hair out of Roselle's face, pausing with his mouth just inches from hers. "So you think I'm cute."

Hmph. Was the Green's reply when her clutchbrother 'spit' water at her, and she fell silent when he said the older Brown's name. She wasn't going to give him a response and encourage him to act more childish than he already was. Her tail swayed and she huffed a bit, moving towards the edge of the water away from him.
Roselle giggled and rolled her eyes as he went on and on about how good looking he was compared to his brother. Then his fingers brushed over her cheek to clear the hair from her face. And he was right there. She could feel his warm breath on her lips and her brown eyes stared into his as goosebumps erupted over her skin. Shivering ever so slightly she averted her gaze from his eyes, "You're not the worst looking man in the world."
Even buzzed as she was, she wasn't about to give him more of a compliment to inflate his ego with.
