Cer’c
Fascinated by all going around him, Cer’c totally did not see Sel’n’s glare directed toward him. He was still intrigued by R’ven deciding to strip out of his gear and down to his shirt and pants. He was a bit disappointed that the smith hadn’t gone buck naked--not because he was interested in seeing the older boy completely nude, but because it would have been rather funny.
Harmonyth nudged his back urgently. Cer’cLove, we ought to leave. She moved in front of him to block his view. Eveyth might get upset if female dragons linger. A light clicked in Cer’c head, and he quickly heeded his dragon’s urging to leave the area ASAP.
But he so wanted to watch!

Evrgarde
Iorath rumbled in amusement, casually twisting around to whip the fluff of cloud with his tail. He liked this green he did. So playful and shiny and energetic! As the lovely green dove down, so did Iorath. The blue drew his wings up tight and allowed his mass to spiral in a controlled plummet, flaring them again just before he struck the jungle canopy. He leveled out and started rising in the air again in a deliberate fashion, sending a swirl of plucked leaves and snapped branches in his wake. Though Eveyth was constantly on the move, Iorath recognized that she hadn’t actually started her flight yet. As anxious as he was to get things started, he found her consideration for her overly excited clutchbrother quite endearing, and felt a blossom of respect for the young green.
While Eveyth stalled, Evrgarde finally made her way over to the training grounds, her towel slung over a shoulder. She glanced at the gathered crowd, taking stock of who appeared to be chasers, and who stragglers in escaping the area. He eyes fell first on Iskierka, recognizing the fellow bluerider from her wing. Her eyes trailed then to Sel’n and M’kai. The chasing weyrlings garnered barely a glance as she deemed them hardly worth the trouble. Now, Eveyth’s, however…
Her eyes fell on X’rx, finding the boy strangely adorable in his cat-like mannerisms. Mmm, like hunting felines in the jungle. She smiled pleasantly at the boy and cheerfully bounded up to him. “A bit of a slip there, eh?” she teased gently, a finger tapping thoughtfully on her lips. Despite the fall, X’rx still looked rather stunning, and that smile? Evrgarde felt her heart skip a beat.
In the air, Iorath’s eyes had slipped into a gripping violet. He crooned urgingly to Eveyth, wanting to start now that Paglieth had safely deposited His.

Ioth crooned good naturedly. She did not reject him so he was fully into the flight. I look forward to seeing what you have learned, he responded, a hint of playfulness in his tone to match hers. He watched her fly around him appreciatively. She was a good flier, for all she was very young, especially in comparison to him. Perhaps I can teach you more during your wonderful flight, dear Eveyth. The dragon was a polite and generally friendly one. He was just as comfortable talking in flights as not.
Then she was moving and the itch to do something was relieved as Ioth twisted expertly into a spinning dive. He swooped underneath her and flipped onto his back to croon up at her. The blue let her pull away some before making use of the same current. He was anxious for her to truly start the flight. This was baby stuff and he knew Eveyth was beyond it. She was capable of much more and he wanted to see her prove him right. He was too polite to say so, or to even brush her mind with the thought. So Ioth waited, not allowing her to go too far from him.
Iskierka watched Sel'n walk over. It seemed that he had the same things in mind that she had. "That would be the smart thing to do," she told him in response to his first question. Her tone was just a shade off neutral. An observant person might have noticed that she was insinuating he wasn't smart but as he was fighting flightlust Sel'n might have missed it. She took a moment longer considerign the second question. The element of surprise was often underestimated and letting him know she had very good control would make him wary during flights if he ever did attack her. In the end she settled for, "I can keep a level head."
----
Dy'shi grimaced slightly as blood rushed back to the spots X'rx had been holding him. Ouch. He doubted his friend meant it...he couldn't possibly, right? Part of him wanted to believe that his friend would never intentionally hurt him but another part of him was still emotionally hurt and he just wanted to leave, come back when he wasn't so pathetic. He stayed out of concern for his friend who...kissed his cheek? He blushed out of embarrassment and barely caught the words. Doll? He shook his head as X'rx all but fell off Chakraith.
Once the greenweyrling was clear, Chakraith started moving away. "Hey, wait Chak!" Ioth has ordered the females away. Eveyth's will be fine. If the words were cold, the tone was not. Dy'shi let the aura of calm that seemed to follow Chakraith everywhere to comfort him a little and he didn't argue when she walked away from the flight. She followed the river for a ways and settled beside it to wait out the flight. She would not let Hers get caught up in all of that just yet.

Keeping an eye out for Paglieth's return...she noticed Craivaruth. Ah, another brother for her. No. Mildly disappointed, though not overly so, because who could have guessed at such a turnout as this? At least Paglieth's wasn't likely to be smashed to oozy bits. Another blue, however, had followed Iorath's lead. Futh! The twin dragon of Mavenath. He was most certainly welcome, if he chose to Chase. Her attention was more given to the males playing with her in the skies, however, a small amount of interest in Kaaoloth's displayed hide, but far more given over to Trilaranth and Iorath as they played around her. Until Trilaranth pulled away, too. Not paying attention. Tch, he'd have to make up for that if he expected her to consider him...Eveyth didn't mind her siblings' antics. Nor would she have cared about another female in her skies. Her chasers should know where to put their attention. Iorath's playing with the leaves pleased her, and she carressed his mind without hesitation, clear approval behind it. So pretty. Are those for me, agile one?
Ioth, however, she blatantly favored before Paglieth's return. Some might have thought it strange, for her to reveal her interests so early, but he was showing the proper attention. And chatting, instead of remaining silent. The oldies had best get out of their rut and learn Eveyth wasn't typical. She was nice, but not patient. Never that. The moment Paglieth whirled toward her, Eveyth dropped without a warning, streaking down into the canyon. She flew so close to the ledges that she had to dodge around a few, brushing a few of the males lounging around teasingly. Their loss. Come school me then, IothTeacher. If you can! she called back playfully. A coil and she spilled more air, dropping straight down the cliff face and dragging her claws along the rock. Sparks leapt, her legs bunching to push her away from the rockface at her sudden reduction in speed, winging swift perpendicular to the cliff face.
Only to come to the other across the gorge, wending up and westward, deeper into the canyon, around jutting ledges and fissures and boulders as the gorge narrowed. Eveyth flipped straight back, winging over any trailing her directly, and shot up, skipping into a thermal that flung her upwards almost like a slingshot, with the wings just large enough in proportion to her body to take full advantage of the warm air. She circled there for a moment at the apex of the thermal, banking to let the light glint off her. Which of you can handle me, handsomes? Going to have to do better than thaaat, she crooned silkily. Eveyth twirled into a cloudbank, tail flicking. Vanishing from sight entirely.
X'rx watched the slinking brown circling him with a small smile that was almost - smirky. He stepped toward the male, brushing against his arm just barely. The glove was dropped as he spun toward Iorath's, eyes glinting playfully. Just the hint of a blush touched his cheeks, a soft chuckle parting his lips. He stepped into her, bending slightly to take the finger tapping her lips into his mouth, hands finding her biceps and stroking them lightly. "A bit. The attention may just be going to my head," he murmured lowly, offering her a wink. His head came up, eyes narrowing. Two. With five chasing? Paglieth's, Kaaoloth's and Ioth's... "Seems I've got a small problem." He tsked. "And they get onto us for not paying attention."
Striding lithely for the two standing off to one side, as if they intended to have their own separate party over there, he abruptly changed course, breaking into a trot. Turning as he came upon Cer'c, he flashed a smile at Harmonyth's, still jogging backwards. "Hey there sweetie. Care to help me for a moment?" Stopping abruptly directly in the other greenweyrling's way, he pressed up against him, sliding his fingers through his hair and kissing him deeply, a contented little purr in his throat. Girl-on-girl action. Now that should get the males' minds where they should be, hm?

As much as Trilaranth wasn't exactly fond of Paglieth, the blue was still his clutchbrother so the brown felt a shred of responsibility toward him. Rather, his rider would be upset knowing Paglieth's had dashed his rider upon the rocks and Trilaranth had done nothing to stop what he saw as a.. natural social darwinism. Craivaruth seemed to be helping Paglieth's rider instead of chasing. That was good enough reason for the brown to dismiss the situation entirely before turning his full attention on Eveyth – just as she dropped into the canyon.
Large wings engulfing the still air, Trilaranth powered himself forward after her quicker form. She slipped through the air without leaving the barest trace of disturbance in the air. Not like Trilaranth, would could easily use a wing to buffet an invisible force at his smaller kin to knock them off kilter. Drawing his wings and legs into his body to slender himself, Trilaranth dove after Eveyth apart from her path. He purposely caught empty weyrledges with the sides of his front claws to create a din of his own, echoing the sparks and scrapes of his sister.
On the ground R'ven smirked at Eveyth's jest. She had always been a highly competitive creature – he felt a mind pang of disappointment that he wouldn't be able to give her a proper race to fuel that vying nature within the green. The smith growled – contentedly – in the back of his throat as he turned to trail after X'rx. There was no trace of jealously as R"ven watched his sister flirt heavily with the blue. The smith increased his pace, still a simple stroll really, as X'rx made for Cer'c, pulling Harmonyth's right up into a kiss. Now that was curious. R'ven stepped around behind Cer'c, his hazel eyes intent on X'rx as he ran his fingers across the back of Cer'c's shoulders..
Trilaranth pulled up low along the river that divided the canyon walls. He saw her course veering into the narrowing passage and the brown faltered. Too man wings of others chasing after her. He didn't like how tight the situation looked. Trilaranth steered his own course toward the clouds, tail lashing against the water as he started his ascent. Leveling out just above the top edge of the cliffs gave him ample wing room to put on a bit of speed to catch up to the head of Eveyth's flight. Ah good, she was going up instead of doubling back through her chasers. Trilaranth allowed himself a moment of purring delight as he winged toward his sister. He wound around her and the thermal she used – rising up in the air with her on his own gusto instead of using the small lift of warm air. It was only a few moments that he matched her rising speed, but soon enough she was higher and disappearing into the clouds.
The brown followed, buffering the fluffy white aside with his large wings as he broke out through the top – where was she? Trilaranth dropped back through in a fashion that was so much more like a child crashing into a stack of blocks and delighting in the way they scattered than anything more.. elegant.

As Kaaoloth wound through the sky he rumbled, noting that Eveyth paid far more attention to those males who played with her. His afternoon star needn’t worry. He would play. Oh yes. He was just conserving himself for the actual flight. Didn’t need to waste endurance on foreplay. He wanted to have enough to last the flight and then some. Big was Kaaoloth, the size of a small bronze. Endurance he had in spades. Speed not so much. Experience through made up for speed. He could at least make the younger chasers look pathetic in comparison. Easily in fact. His knowledge of thermals and wind use more than made up for pure muscled speed. The brown took advantage of every chance to make his flight smoother quicker, easier. Whirling violet eyes stayed trained on Eveyth’s glowing form. Not one glace spared the other males for now. If they got in his way they would be dealt with then.
Moving she was moving. With a brassy bugle Kaaoloth dropped his wings and with powerful strokes plummeted after her. Down, down into the canyon the large brown fell, pulling up underneath her along the first level of dragon weyrs. There he wove around the ledges with practiced ease, his wing tips just inches form the rocky face of the cliff. Small spaces for him where not impossible. Uncomfortable yes but he was well aware of his abilities. Eyes trained upwards the brown’s large wings kept him to the back of the flight but still close enough to be very in the running. Playing through this dangerous playground he launched himself off a low ledge and directly into Eveyth’s thermal, his large wings capturing enough air to catapult him rapidly upwards, hot on her tail. He broke off above her and dipped slightly downwards in a slow whirl before leveling off. Trilaranth was totally ignored save for a lashing tail aimed in his general direction. The strike would not hit. Wasn’t meant to. Kaaoloth was nothing but challenging in flights. Held back by his the brown didn’t seek to completely sabotage his competitors but if he could make them look bad he would, especially the blues.
Eveyth’s words where taken with relish, her tone caressing him. Immediately Kaaoloth replied. My Eveyth I have no doubt in my ability to show you a thing or two about flight. His reply was confident, husky, and as teasing as hers. He wasn’t boasting either. Been through many flights had the brown. Won his fair share and still did as well. He was still in his prime after all. Her disappearance into the clouds was taken in with an amused rumble. Clouds where very popular playgrounds in green flights. He dipped into the cloud bank after her and zigzagged through it, his wings beating rapidly to disperse them and either force the green out of hiding or reveal her. The cool moisture on his hide did little to quell his burning desire but it did feel pleasant. Dipping beneath the clouds he caught another updraft and soared above them twirling in a lazy circle. His wings twitching imperceptibly to ready himself to shoot after her once she emerged. Clever girl was his Eveyth. Her personality was quickly endearing her to him. Brushing her mind with a caress he crooned again. I see the student has become the teacher. I look forward to possibly flipping that role soon…
Sel’n ignored Iskierka’s words not willing to get into a verbal spat in the middle of a maiden flight. He merely shrugged, looking completely disinterested as his eyes scanned the field. The playful touching of X’rx made him long to move but he fought the desire knowing full well it was Kaaoloth’s. The brown was not making it easy on him. Not by a long shot. Damn lusty brown. The Weyrlingmaster almost stepped forward when Cer’c was grabbed. Not good. He just hoped the young rider didn’t resist. If the brownrider himself got involved it would make it that much harder to fight off Kaaoloth. Losing himself could be disastrous. Especially since he needed to play control after the flight. Curling his hands into fists he motioned to Harmonyth in a not so subtle gesture for her to pick up hers and get him the sharding hell out of here. Stupid kids.
~~~
Mavenath brushed Futh’s mind with praise and acceptance. Yes my brother. Please chase in my stead. Grace Eveyth with your presence. She deserves as much. Inwardly he was immensely pleased that the blue had asked permission before joining. Futh knew the level of the bronze’s affection for his green saber fanged sister and had shown that he cared by asking permission.
Unknowingly Futh had just put himself even farther into the bronze’s good graces. Futh could be trusted. Rumbling quietly Mavenath’s mood shifted slightly to a better one. Eveyth would fly again and then she would be his. For now he would support Futh.
Ioth watched Eveyth drop down along the side of the cliff even as he swept into a dive as well. He didn't get as close to the ledges as the green did. Agile as he was, he still wasn't a green. He could have done it but it wasn't really worth the effort when he doubted she'd look back to see. Her last comment made him croon with delight. Oh, he would! It didn't really need a verbal reply so he merely brushed her mind pleasantly. He had much more to teach her yet.
The blue pulled out of his dive low to the ground, dipping lower as he passed the river. Claws and wing tips met the surface of the water and he pulled up and away from it with a twist, drops of clear liquid dripping off him. He followed the green without any hesitation as she led them deeper into the gorge. When she slipped into a thermal he snorted and put on a burst of speed. He may regret expending the energy later but for the moment he was confident he had more energy to spare than she did. He used the fringe of the thermal to lend his ascent more support. With your skill, Eveyth, perhaps you should lead classes? I'm not so certain we can compare, he complimented the green as she slipped into the clouds.
Ioth joined her in them a few moments later, zipping on through them to exit above them. He crooned to let her know he was still chasing her and to let her know where he was. Hide and seek, dear Eveyth? You are teasing, Ioth told her good-naturedly. He liked games well enough, but he also preferred games when he could see the lovely green. He didn't much care for idling in the skies, but for Eveyth he could be just a little patient.
Iskierka was slightly disappointed that Sel'n didn't respond to her dig at all. Perhaps his control isn't good enough, she thought in passing. She didn't have time to think about it though. X'rx had decided to involve one of the non-participants. She waited for Sel'n to step in and do something. She kept waiting and waiting...and eventually decided her earlier thought was right. He probably didn't have the same amount of control she did. It was possible that he had a closer bond with Kaaoloth than she did with Ioth. There was no envy in her though. Her bond with her dragon was what it was. She could feel the lust rolling through the bond but it was minimal.
When it became quite obvious that Sel'n wouldn't do anything the bluerider mumbled something unintelligible and wandered over to X'rx. She was supposed to act like she was interested, right? It wouldn't be too hard to indulge a little and not get lost in the bond. She slipped her hands around X'rx's waist and tugged lightly. "Aren't you being a little unfair?" She was glad she didn't actually act like that when Ioth chased. It was always a bit amusing to hear others saying stupid things though. A lot of the ones who let themselves get that overwhelmed usually didn't remember it either.
Paglieth tucked his wings in close to his body and followed after Eveyth as she plummeted down into the canyon. Much to his chagrin, he was not very close as he would have liked, too many of the others arrowing down after her, inserting themselves between her and him. For a moment he was a very unhappy blue, for all the wings between them. He couldn't even see her, how was she supposed to see him?! Paglieth crooned, the tone mixed between longing and sadness. But it didn't stop him from trying his hardest! He would do everything he could for her. Opening his wings, he beat them quickly to aid in his speed, trying to make up some ground. The young blue didn't try anything with the cliffs, instead giving them a healthy amount of room. Not only was he not that good yet, he definitely wasn't that good while concentrating on such a lovely lady! Worse yet, even if he was ... he was too far back for her to even see his attempts. So it was best to just save his pride, dignity, and effort for later, when it would really count and be seen. Rocks just didn't hold a candle to Eveyth!
Pulling up shorter than any of the others that preceeded him, Paglieth made some ground there as all of the dragons arrowed back up into the sky. Pulling even tighter, he arrowed up earlier, making up some more ground there as well, putting every bit of his young blue energetic agility to best use. That, and from over here he could see her again. There was just a chance she could see him! Paglieth crooned for her again, before reaching out for her, oblivious to all the chatter going on between her and the other males. Shining Star, I will follow! I will catch you should you need me! He called to her, trying his best to flatter her. Even though he wasn't particularly practiced at that yet. Snapping his dark blue sails quickly, he ascended under sheer determination, leery of the crowded updraft that the others were using. There wouldn't be much lift left for him, with that many wings taking all of it up. Not to mention it was so crowded with big boys that could buffet him out of the air with just a few strokes. He wasn't going to do anything to sabotage the entire effort, even if it took more effort on his part to keep up. Pointing his nose skyward, he flew as fast as he could manage, off to the side of the pack now, instead of trailing along behind.
Paglieth was saddened when she vanished into the cloud, however, and stuck it out for some drifting as he waited. He didn't want to chase into there ... if he did he might well get stuck twirling around in there long after she left it. That, and again there were just too many big and powerful dragons plunging in and out of it. There wasn't any room for him to follow her in. So instead he went up around the side of the cloud, thinking about it carefully and crooning softly to wherever she might be in there. Cresting the top of the cloud, he caressed the form with his wings and tail, changing its shape gently as he cruised around above where the cloud was being torn to ribbons. There, he circled slowly, waiting for her to appear again. So he could see her lovely form once more, and admire her, chase her once more. Catch her!
Beneath the flight, but still alarmingly high above the ground, L'nu grabbed a tighter hold on J'ash at the dim realization that his life was still in danger. Oh, shards. It was really hard for him to concentrate ... especially since Paglieth was being so completely absorbed in the flight ... as close as they were, it was very hard for L'nu to do anything but what Paglieth was doing. As bad as that might be. The last thing he needed was to jump off of Craivaruth and try to fly.
"Uh ... uh .... um ... oh dear ... uhhh...." L'nu managed, managing to get just enough wits rubbed together to figure out what it was he needed to do. Releasing some of his death grip on his friend, he managed to find the said straps that were needed. Relying on J'ash to keep them aboard, he reached for one. Almost slipping, he returned his grip to J'ash. Rebalanced, he tried once more. This time, he managed to just snag his fingers under the leather, and drag it back up. Almost overbalancing clear off the far side, it was only his grip on said strap that saved him. "OH!!!" He flailed a moment, before grabbing J'ash again. Seizing the lad's belt, he snapped the tether on. Thus secured, he shifted his hold on the belt to the other hand, and reached for the other strap. It was easier to get, knowing that J'ash was a more stable hold. Bringing that one up, he fumbled with the clip a bit before managing to get that one snapped too. Just as soon as he was done, he wrapped both arms around J'ash again, groaning at the knot of fear in his stomach that was being all the worse for being mixed with equal helpings of overpowering lust.
Evrgarde
Iorath rumbled pleasantly to Eveyth, deliberately banking closer to her and briefly brushing the tip of his tail against hers as he passed by overhead. Anything for you, sweetheart~, he crooned, his mindvoice broadcasting smoothly to Eveyth alone. He swept by her but searched for thermals to keep close without expending too much energy. He hovered near, twisting playfully in the air while waiting for her to begin. When Eveyth finally dropped, he trumpeted in her wake and took chase with earnest.
He kept as close as he could, zipping through the warm air with maneuvers peppered with summersaults, corkscrews and twists whenever he could take advantage of a thermal. The rocky and green scenery around them blurred by, but the blue paid little mind to them except to avoid collision; his sight was on the green and the green only. Well, and the occasional flash of blue, brown and bronze; smashing into other chasers would also not be a good thing.
As Eveyth led them through the narrowing gorge, Iorath repositioned himself higher or lower to prevent from being pushed back. To that end though, he still couldn’t pull the tight turns and twists the young green demonstrated; when she shot upward, he brushed her mind with an amused chuckle. Challenge accepted, pretty Eveyth, he teased, turning upward himself. He spiraled through the air, searching for and finally catching an upward thermal that propelled him faster. He shot into the cloud after her, breaking through on top and looking down upon the fluffy clouds, searching for the tell-tale glow or even just disturbances in the fluff to give hints to the green’s location. Hide and seek? he inquired, soon diving below the clouds again then back up, in case Eveyth had decided to leave her cover.
Evrgarde let her finger linger between X’rx’s lips, deliberately brushing her fingernail against his soft tongue before he drew away towards Cer’c. She watched his movements, striding assuredly after him. A small smirk formed unbidden upon her lips as the scene unfolded. Oh my, she thought sidling closer. Iskierka had already taken up her place around X’rx’s waist, so Evrgarde stood besides him and leaned forwad slightly, brushing her lips against the Eveyth’s cheek towards his ear while a hand rested on the back of his neck. “You’re such a tease,” she whispered, purposely breathing the words out rather than speaking them.
~*~*~
Cer’c
Harmonyth tried to move between Eveyth’s and Hers at X’rx’s approach, but the other green weyrling managed to slither in between them and…
“Huh?”
The word barely passed Cer’c lips when X’rx pressed up against him and nearly crushed his mouth. His body reflexively tensed up, confusion coursing through his body as he struggled to make sense of what was going on. His first thought was to push X’rx away in horror--kissing another boy?! What?! He never thought himself remotely attracted to other males and yet the feeling of fingers running through his hair, a possessive grasp around his slender waist, and the taste of another person--male be damned--was about enough to send him spiraling into some sort of crisis. Oh, the fingers in his hair. His eyelids fluttered for a moment, his lips moving in what he was sure was the beginnings of protest. He wasn’t sure he liked it, but it wasn’t like he didn’t like it.
“Mhf--“ well, there was no speaking to be done when another person’s tongue was nearly jammed down his throat.
But X’rx was a boy! A boy! He certainly never thought his first real kiss would be from another boy, and his brain’s lack of objection to that fact was making it hard to concentrate on anything other than all those fingers. R’ven’s brushing against his shoulder wasn’t helping one bit, either.
Harmonyth beheld the scene, consumed with her own brand of confusion. Like Cer’c, her instinct would have been to get Hers out of harm’s way. They were in the middle of a flight, and while she did not yet fully understand the emotional stake of a flight, she didn’t think this was normal. But Hers’ lack of obvious resistance was enough to jar into the green’s mind. She did see Sel’n’s gesture for her to get Cer’c out of there, but would Eveyth’s retaliate? Would Eveyth retaliate if Harmonyth suddenly took to the skies with Hers in tow?
Was Hers actually enjoying this?
::Need to apologize to y'all for being so iffy lately. Thanks for hanging with me. My last post before Eveyth picks...Want to try to finish this by today or tomorrow at the latest so, lolz, try to get posts in quickly? <3
The sounds of those following, a casual eye turned to her chasers - though not enough to put her in danger - as the green calmly evaluated what she had. Trilaranth. Not daring enough to brave the gorge, but then, she didn't want her males hurt, and Kaaoloth was taking some pretty large risks as it was. A mistake, no real manueverability...probably best her clutchbrother didn't add more risk to the situation. He was adorable, anyway, the way he tried to find her, the female brushing his mind teasingly. Heere clutchbrother. Though...not by the time he looked. Eveyth twisted gleefully in her clouds.
Kaaoloth. A very impressive display for one so large, even if he wasn't following as closely as her more agile blues. His age was showing. And he'd responded swiftly to her ascent, though she did find Trilaranth's rise on his own power to be more impressive than hopping a thermal behind her. My, but aren't we arrogant? Action to words, lovely brown. Action to words. Slipping through one of the blank spaces he'd just dispersed, she rolled, presenting her underbelly to him before looping back into the cloud bank, stirring it with her wingstrokes. And I might just let you show me, she added softly.
Ioth. Quick. Unhesitating. Logical...he didn't play so close to the ledges as she, knowing he could not match her. Some would have thought that a negative, but Eveyth had always appreciated logic. Sliding neatly through the top of the clouds, she allowed a wingtip to show, a flash of her hide beneath the male. Mmm...not so much a game of hide and seek when the seekers linger, now is it? Come, IothTeacher, less flattery. Her tone was light enough that it was clear she was teasing.
Paglieth. Falling behind, of all her chasers. He was young, but fast enough to keep up better. She'd already patiently waited for him at his blunder - not about to give him any more leeway than that. Nothing really impressive to catch her eye. In the end he was sweet, eager, but not daring enough to make up for his lack of experience. It was with a touch of regret that she brushed gently against his mind, whirling out of the cloudbank and circling him with a gentle brush of tailtip. My brother, go collect Yours. Next time, perhaps, you will be ready. Another mental carress, and she dropped away from him.
Iorath. Ah, this blue, on the other hand, knew how to use what he had to his advantage. Not only that, but he showed more sense than most of her other chasers, making certain that she was still in the clouds. The equivalent of a dragon laugh rumbled through his mind as the female twisted free, glistening with dewdrops. Find me yet? she teased. Come, handsomes, show me who to trust myself to - my wings grow weary. And I am as yet undecided. With that, she coiled through the air in a swift figure eight, looping back up and over into a steep dive. She whipped around the drum towers and sped quickly over the trees, dipping low to send a shower of leaves upward.
X'rx slid a hand up under Cer'c's leathers, kneading into the small of his back and gentling the kiss, though it was no less possessive for all that. He allowed himself to come up on tiptoe as R'ven peered over his helper's head, nipping teasingly at Harmonyth's lip as he pressed his body against Cer'c in a slow upward slide. His tongue slid out to play over Trilaranth's jaw briefly, turning his head to whisper into Harmonyth's ear, though his eyes never left R'ven's. "I'm willing to share, darling sister. No need to flee me." A nip at Cer'c's earlobe before the hand in his hair went back to grace the back of Iskierka's neck. He pressed back into her, keeping a hold on Harmonyth's waist. Teasing nips crept up her jaw. "Am I? More interested in Kaooloth's?" He tsked, releasing her and Cer'c at once to turn to Evrgarde, hands running up her abdomen lightly. His lips found her throat, tone just as low as hers had been. "And you like it, don't you?"
He shrugged off Iskierka's arms, a slow smile touching his lips as he ducked around Evrgarde, peeling off a glove while he walked toward Sel'n. What was he doing. All. The way. Over. There? The glove fell, X'rx moving past to turn, bend, his body barely brushing Sel'n in that position as he retrieved the glove. A glance over his shoulder at the brownrider. "Oops." He straightened, lightly looping both arms back around Sel'n's neck and leaning against him. "So hot, strong one. Help me cool off?"
Trilaranth's lip curled when Kaaoloth's tail snapped in his direction. Claws flexed and it was out of respect for his sister's maiden flight that Trilaranth didn't rise to the bait to take the other brown out of the case. And, by default, knowingly remove himself as well. Loved greens, did Trilaranth, but in his opinion Eveyth deserved a nimble blue that could race her across the skies and back. That didn't mean he wouldn't chase her with a desire to catch, but playing with her through the clouds would serve as an enjoyable second.
The large brown rumbled with amusement as he responded instantly to her brush of mind. He chased after the barest glimpses of her – a wingtip here, a flash of green there. In a series of shallow dives and tight turns the brown pulled and twisted at the fluffy white to create long sweeping curls out of the fine mist.
Down, down she went. Trilaranth burst out the end of the cloud in a backwards loop to make one final swirl and enter into a dive with the same move. He spun slowly, breaking level above the trees just aside Eveyth's path. He buffered a wing at the leaves to make them twirl rapidly away in their own dance. He swung his long tail at a jutting tree top to knock more leaves into the air – harmlessly, playfully, into the path of the nearest blue.
R'ven leaned closer, brushing against Cer'c as he tried to nuzzle at X'rx. The light smile never left his lips. Quite the entanglement going on and one touch here seemed to brush against one of the chasers in passing. Perhaps he should have felt bad, but R'ven didn't as he immediately left Cer'c in favor of trailing after his flirtatious sister. X'rx went toward that.. bothersome brown. R'ven's smile widened, eyes narrowing briefly as he drew closer. It was so very tempting to knock the other chaser down..
Ioth was amused by Eveyth's teasing. She was quickly endearing herself to him during the course of her flight. He had chased very few genuinely friendly greens. His student was a pleasant change of pace. At the teasing and the wing tip that poked out of the clouds he responded, As you wish, Eveyth. with equal parts humour and seriousness. He dove into a spot near to the wing tip she had revealed and followed the patterns Eveyth left in the cloud he could see to stay on the right track. It wasn't exact, but it would help him know where she was.
The blue lost track of any discernible pattern so he rolled out of the clouds and paused to look around. Aha! There she was. The green's words brought excitement and relief for Ioth. He could feel the strain in his own wings, though he knew his energy level mustn't be as low as Eveyth's. Besides, the best part of any flight was the ending. Crushing disapointment...or not. The blue didn't dwell on it though, not with Eveyth speeding away. He dove at a shallower angle than the green to come out above her, putting on a burst of speed to get closer. He dipped towards the shower of leaves Trilaranth released, crooning in amusement as they brushed over his head.
Iskierka almost sighed as X'rx continued to molest Cer'c. There was no sympathy for the other greenrider though. His own damn fault for not leaving in time. A hand snaking around to the back of her neck made her put on a smile for the one who was actually lost in flightlust. The tug of her and Ioth's bond got a little stronger as X'rx trailed little bites along her jaw. She let him do as he would, but she did respond when he did. "What good would that do?" There was a hint of her genuine disinterest in Sel'n. From what she could tell he was about as interesting as a tuber. Not very.
The bluerider let go of her student without any complaint and let the others follow the greenweyrling first. She gave Cer'c a not-too-gentle shove. "Get going," she snapped quietly before following X'rx. She didn't have the time to spare for Cer'c. It was all well and fine if he got away but if he didn't there was a risk of one of the unlucky latching onto him and then she'd have to save his butt...ugh. What an annoying job teaching weyrlings was. Iskierka let herself be amused at Sel'n's predicament. She wondered if he could continue to hold out when the kid was hanging off him.
Kaaoloth hovered briefly in the thick cloud cover as Eveyth’s mind brushed his, a draconic laugh given in return to her words. Action to words hmm. The large brown swiveled his head around just in time to see the flash of underbelly the glowing female presented him. A small reward and one that was greatly appreciated. The dragon watched her return to the cloud bank but sought not to pursue her any further into it. The cover was becoming quite a mess by now anyway, what with all the dragon’s entering and exiting. She would have to exit the mist to finish the flight most likely anyway.
Angling his wings Kaaoloth shot out of the cloud bank and out into the free air. Gaining sufficient altitude he rumbled, turning in a slow barrel roll before steadying his wings to await Eveyth’s exit. Further acrobatics would be pointless as he did not have the abilities of his lovely or a blue. Best not embarrass himself. Still he couldn’t help but return her words, enjoying the chance to converse and bait mid-flight. I prefer to call myself confident my lovely Eveyth. Arrogance is for those who believe they have no limits. I am well aware of mine.
He didn’t have to wait long. Soon the green showed herself, her glowing hide now glistening with moisture. Kaaoloth gave a croon and brushed her mind appreciatively at the sight before readying himself to move. As Eveyth’s words caressed his mind a touch of determination coursed through him. She would be ending her flight soon and so that meant he could pull out all the stops. Still had to reserve enough to carry her should she chose him of course but he still had plenty in reserve. Confident that she would make the right choice the brown snapped his wings shut and plummeted towards the waterfall below. While Eveyth whipped around the drum towers Kaaoloth pulled up right at the top of the waterfall and did a slow roll over the surface of the white water, his wing tips barely brushing the liquid before he powered upwards and over the tree line.
Instead of following the line of the trees however the brown kept going upwards. Eveyth would have to be high to finish the flight and besides the brown hated the trees. Couldn’t fit between them and dangerous to try and fly too close. Blasted things. Working his wings hard Kaaoloth used what speed he possessed to chase as closely after the green as was possible for a dragon his size. He ended up above and behind her by only a few dragon lengths. Not bad if he had to say so himself.
Sel’n for the most part ignored the small bustle of activity going on further down the field. Instead he concentrated on other things in the attempt to keep Kaaoloth from purposely hindering anyone in the flight. Kaaoloth had been aware of Trilaranth’s annoyance and flexing of talons. The brown had first thought to swivel around and teach the young upstart a thing or two about war but it was Sel’n’s firm grip that kept the brown in line and on track. Eveyth was the prize. Not some arrogant child’s hide. The brown hadn’t argued the point but still the Weyrlingmaster kept the male under tight rein. Kaaoloth was always pushy in flight but it grew worse the more lusty the brown became and his last catch had been awhile ago. Confident that his dragon was back on track Sel’n raised his eyes to again view the other chasers, just in time to catch X’rx’s stride towards him.
At first the brownrider thought to move. To distance himself but...It was hard to move when she was coming right towards him. He didn’t want to run from her. He wanted to catch her. No not right. Not her. X’rx. The lines between man and dragon where starting to blur. Kaaoloth was taking advantage of each momentary slip of concentration the brownrider had and gaining more and more control. The brown wanted his with him. Hated the mental reins holding him slightly back. It was better when they where gone.
X’rx's little bend and snap move had Sel’n’s eyes caressing his form, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. The lean had the brownrider shifting to take the younger male’s weight as he again wrested control from his dragon. Just enough to keep himself from losing himself completely to Kaaoloth. Still a touch of the brown‘s current feelings and thoughts made themselves prominent in him. “Cool you off my dear Eveyth? Hmm. I think I like you hot.” A soft smile touched his lips before he caught R’ven’s gaze, purposely giving the other brown a challenging look. Kaaoloth had no patience for arrogance. Especially when it couldn’t be backed up, but by all means the other was welcome to try…
Paglieth actually managed to fly backward a bit, when he heard the statement issued to him from Eveyth. His eyes swirled suddenly from lusty adoration to the far more demure colors of deep sadness. No!! She couldn't think so low as that, not after waiting for him! That was ... that was just ... it couldn't be! It was a test! Yes, that was it!! She wanted to see just how devoted he was! He would show her! Completely disregarding that she might have actually meant the dismissal and that sticking it out would probably piss her off royally, Paglieth dove into the cloud to pursue her diligently. Search around in the murk for her lithe, lovely green form, drop out the bottom, look around quickly to see if she was there, then do it all over again. Every time he reached the edge of the cloud, he would search outside the cloud too before going after her again. Reaching out to her mind, to try and maybe get a feel for where it was she was hiding, flirting with everyone so, he offered a small answer.
Mine is safe.
Catching a sudden glimpse of green flashing through a slightly thinner section of the cloud as she teased and flickered past the other males, Paglieth turned and shot after her, wings churning the cloud into large twisting drafts as he applied all the speed he dared in such a small space with such limited visibility. Just a little more and he'd be right there with her. Closer than he had been the whole flight! Twisting sideways suddenly to avoid crashing into another of the chasers, he flared his wings and spun his tail, applying every last ounce of agility his young blue frame allowed him, he managed to curl and snake right past the sudden obstacle all before he'd even had a chance to really think about it. Huffing at the suddenness in which that happened, Paglieth straightened out and flew in the direction he'd last seen Eveyth go. She had to be there somewhere! There wasn't a whole terrible lot of cloud left, in that direction, after all.
Cer’c
Cer’c arched his back in response to X’rx’s wandering hands. Not out of lust, he would assure anyone, but in a somewhat half-hearted means of not letting himself get totally absorbed with his classmate. Just the same though, the affectionate caresses from the other boy were a distraction. He swallowed loudly, eyes briefly widening at the nip to his earlobe. “Sh--share?” The words fell awkwardly from Cer’c’s lips. What did he mean? He brought his hands up to rest on X’rx’s shoulder’s thinking that surely now would be the time to politely extract himself from the situation.
Harmonyth took a step closer, still wary of Eveyth’s grasp on Hers. Cer’cLove, she whispered, her own concern at the situation messily tangled with her rider’s rather obvious physical reaction to X’rx’s teasing. Rather than sharing, one might think that Eveyth’s was trying to make the males jealous.
After what felt like a long time, X’rx finally slid away from Cer’c on his own accord and wandered off to the weyrlingmaster, taking his entourage of human chasers after him. Cer’c stumbled back against Iskierka’s shove, tripping over his own feet and landing heavily on his back. Harmonyth’s eyes narrowed, a warning grumble escaping her throat at the assistant weyrlingmaster. A part of her sensed that the bluerider did not mean harm to Hers, but she couldn’t help it.
The green moved so that her body would shield Hers from the view of the chasers. She nuzzled Cer’c with her nose, willing him to come to his senses. We must go, Love,
Cer’c blinked up at her, feeling very, very uncomfortable. He swallowed and rolled onto his side, then rose to all fours. “Yeah uh..” He glanced down. “In a bit…” Well, this was embarrassing.
Evrgarde
Iorath continued his search in, above, and below the clouds, all the way sending amused thoughts towards the shiny green’s way. He liked games-- and lo! The green emerged from the clouds, her already brilliant hide especially bright and slick with moisture. He crooned at her and with an assured beat of his wings, flipped around to pursue. As with the rest of earlier moments of the chase, he kept close to her, following her tight turns as best he could. While earlier he had peppered the chase with tricks to demonstrate his agility, it was time to get down to business.
He rumbled in her wake, plummeting down with her and pivoting around the drum towers in nearly a direct line with full intent to catch her should she allow. Only when she whipped through the trees did Iorath allow himself a moment’s distraction to thrash his talons and tail through the canopies, ripping leaves, twigs, and branches, and sending a few birds darting out of their nests in panic. He veered near her, then rose up around her to fly on her other side, a dragon length above her so that he had a clear view of her and all her beauty. He brushed her mind in appreciation, letting her know without a doubt how stunning she was.
A pleased rumble escaped Evrgarde’s throat, the sound not too unlike that of a dragon’s. She touched X’rx hand, sliding her hand over his wrist where her fingers curled around it for a moment before letting go. The bluerider strode after the greenrider, paying little mind to the boy’s antics towards Sel’n, nor of Sel’n’s body’s adjusting to support the boy’s weight. She moved up behind X’rx and ran a hand through his hair, wicking a fistful of sweat through the dark strands. “If he won’t, then please allow me,” Evrgarde offered huskily, her other hand coming up to play with the collar of the boy’s shirt. She leaned closer, then withdrew both hands and clasped them behind her back. “If you would permit, that is.”
Mine Flies with me. I am sorry, Paglieth, but I will not Fly without him; have Yours where he belongs next time. And...what are you doing, anyway? Still in the clouds. Poor clutchbrother. He'd get the hang of things, she was sure. Eventually.
Sel'n's response wasn't as displeasing as some might have thought, to X'rx. Possibly because he could feel everything else, and yes, the greenweyrling was pleased. Nevertheless, he was not pleased that he had to collect his chasers like herdbeasts. It wasn't that, though, that had him going stiff against Sel'n. He flicked a brief, reassuring smile at Evrgarde, uncertain if her sudden meekness had something to do with his response or not. But he didn't spare her much more attention than that; his eyes were locked on Iskierka. Cer'c's position was visible behind her. He strode for her, a touch of hip in the movement, coming up close to her and brushing his hands along her waist.
Eveyth wended back along her flightpath, the change abrupt, brushing teasingly past Trilaranth and giving him a soft croon, circling Ioth. My IothTeacher...
Slight though he was, X'rx was still male, still a drudge who'd worked all his life, and he didn't pull it. At all. The slap rang sharply against her cheek. "Don't you ever, ever push my sister around like that. I don't care who the shards you are."
And brushed his mind dismissively. A touch of regret was in that brief mental connection - but mostly disappointment. In him. You are a lovely flyer. I would have liked to learn from you. But first you must learn to keep your rider in check. Hurting Harmonyth's is not acceptable. A tight circle around him. Then Eveyth's tail whipped at Kaaoloth's snout in passing. So confident that you hold yourself apart? That you interfere with others? This is arrogance, not confidence. Your limits aren't just what you're capable of, but what I'll accept. Go.
That left her two, both of whom Hers favored as much as she did. Eveyth crooned to both Iorath and Trilaranth, urging them up with her, silently urging them to dance with her as they climbed. Could a dragon pick two? No...sadly, no. And yes, she needed to choose. She waffled between them for a long moment. Trilaranth, her clutchbrother, playing with her so well, so devotedly. Iorath, so skillful and intelligent.
X'rx stepped around Iskierka, shoving her towards Sel'n. "Deserve each other," he growled, the anger still present in his tone. He reached out a welcoming hand toward Evrgarde. The other ran up R'ven's chest, strong, strong brown. Brother. Better than the older dragons who didn't understand what it meant to chase a dragon like her. X'rx coiled a hand around his neck, pulling him down into a gentle kiss. "I wish..."
...that I could Fly with both of you. Eveyth released her clutchbrother from the chase reluctantly, dropping toward Iorath almost leisurely. I am yours, agile one.
And he turned from R'ven, clasping Evrgarde's hand. "You may cool me off in a moment." Brush of lips over knuckles, before he tugged her toward Cer'c, releasing her hand to kneel in front of his clutchsister. Kisses were pressed gently to her eyelids. "I'm sorry, Harmonyth. I did not know he would try to hurt you. If you would like to share...I'm sure Iorath would not mind two sisters." He turned his dark eyes up toward the blue.
