It was a chilly day again. The cold had really settled into Selenitas and for the first time frost was forming on the vegetation and ground during the colder hours. At midday it was warmer than in the morning or at night but multiple layers were still preferable. Dragonriders and weyrfolk alike were bundled up tight against a winter season very few were used to. The cold was still in some peoples' bones, though, and such a pair played outside at that time. A brownrider was wearing at least three shirts against the cold and a couple pairs of pants plus his thickest boots.
T'san was grinning madly as he faced his opponent, arms spread out away from the centre of his body as if ready to grab someone. His blades were tucked into his belt sheathe and boot sheathe but he made no motion to grab for either of them. His aim wasn't to seriously hurt his opponent...or hurt them at all, really. What kind of rider attacked their own dragon with knives? Yes, the one standing opposite him was none other than Dsoleth. The truly large brown's tail flicked in anticipation of his rider's attack. They were playing around to fight the cold that had descended on Selenitas. T'san personally preferred the cooler weather but that was mostly because it was easier to cope with.
Suddenly the brownrider ran and pounced at his dragon, Dsoleth carefully rolling with T'san's diving attack so that he didn't injure a wing. The dragon let loose a slight roar as part of the game. The man practically glomped the brown's neck and laughed out loud. "Dsoleth, do you want to attract more attention to your humiliating defeats at the hand of a little man like me?" Oh please. I could roll over and squash you right now. You are lucky I have no use for flattened riders, T'sanfoolmine. Perhaps I've called some back up for you so that you stand more of a chance against the might that is I! There was definite humourous sarcasm in the brown's voice and the words enticed further laughter from T'san.
The brownrider paused for a moment and considered the weather. "Y'know, I know I said I missed the cold northern temperatures but...I dunno now. It's nice enough but it's far better being able to take my shirt off without freezing to death." Nevroti was curled up underneath an extra shirt T'san had brought while His and the big beast played around. It was too rough for him to hang out on T'san but he didn't want to completely leave either. You're never happy. At least you get a taste of winter and not the whole thing down here, Dsoleth reminded the brownrider. "This is true."
The large brown suddenly tilted his head slightly and added, Someone's coming. The tone was to oserious for T'san to ignore and he pushed himself off Dsoleth's neck to invetigate. He started moving away from the brown but his dragon suddenly rolled upright, knocked him down face first in the sand, and pulled him up by one leg. "You rotten trickster! See if I ever listen to you again, you big brat!" The brown rumbled in amusement. I didn't lie. There is someone coming. And it's your own fault for being off guard. I never said to stop the game.

It’s freezing.
“Wouldn’t flying warm you up faster?” Meira asked, turning to walk backwards so she could look over Jingth anxiously. She was pretty sure dragons didn’t get hypothermia or anything – not that it was really cold enough to, but it wasn’t like Jingth was wearing clothes. “You don’t have to walk just because I wanted to take one, you know. I think I’ve said that before. I mean…” An absentminded half-gesture towards the sky, eyebrows rising. “I appreciate it, but it’s not like we can’t talk just because you’re not right behind me or anything…”
Jingth exhaled through her nostrils with no small amount of disapproval. It’s colder when I go higher and faster, she replied, half-petulantly. And I don’t mind walking. Rock, don’t trip, love. The dragon tilted her head, awkwardly taking another hop forward. She had to go very slowly and at a very strange shuffling pace in order not to outpace her Rider within seconds, not to mention keeping behind her – but she managed. At least if you fell you wouldn’t hurt yourself. Plenty of padding, the gold commented idly.
Meira huffed out a laugh, shrugged. Because, okay, yeah – she was dressed warmly, but it was cold out. Whenever Riaren went outside he ended up looking more spherical than humanoid because she was just that afraid of him getting sick. At the moment, he was with his father – and Mimic was probably still asleep in the warmest spot he could find; the brown Salamandyr had discovered his distaste of the cold early on.
Do you hear – ?
The gold was suddenly alert, head lifting and tilting, eyes spinning a little more rapidly in curiosity. It would appear, Meira love, that you are not the only one who wished to take a walk. Although…
And then they rounded the corner. Passing people on walks wasn’t exactly unusual, after all.
The sight of T’san dangling by one leg from his dragon’s mouth was…highly unexpected. Meira stopped dead, blinked twice, and a grin widened across her face – a grin that was pushed into a laugh when Jingth’s amusement swept over her. The gold circled past Meira towards Dsoleth, crooning a greeting (her brown, this one was) and dipping her head to examine the Rider. It seems, she commented solemnly to him, still crouched to face-level with T’san, That you have captured a T’san. Might I inquire as to your technique?
“Um.” Meira bit her lower lip to keep back the laughter, coming a little closer to the two dragons and the upside-down T’san, and tilted her head sideways to look up at him. “Hello…hi, Dsoleth,” she added, gaze flicking momentarily up to the brown before dropping to T’san again. “Are you…having fun?”

Hah. Both member of the brownpair paused completely when they caught sight of their visitors. Well.... T'san's thought stopped there. There really wasn't anything to add to the thought. He'd just been caught in an embarassing position by a Meira and a Jingth. Both seemed quite amused. T'san, being the rather shameless person he was, smiled at the goldrider good-naturedly. Despite his feelings for her there was no use in feeling embarassed. It was hardly his first time being caught doing something silly in front of her anyways. Chasing a feline to reclaim a belt was hardly normal for most people.
The smile faded slightly as his mind registered an irrational fear of Jingth when she lowered her head to examine him. A moment later he realized the source. Nevroti. Normally the blue hid from any golds in his shirt but to do so this time would require getting closer to the giant shiny thing of doom. T'san gently impressed upon the skittish blue to just remain under his discarded shirt and wait a bit. He'd come 'defend' the blue soon. Where soon meant when he started to get dizzy from all the blood rushing to his head. The firelizard retreated further under the shirt and waited.
Dsoleth let out a muffled croon for Jingth. Thankfully mindspeech wasn't limited by whatever might have been in his mouth. Distraction followed by knocking him over. He is quite easy to dangle once he's face first in the sand. You made quite a wonderful distraction, dear Jingth. You seem well? What brings you and Yours to the beach on such a chilly day? There was polite interest in the brown's words as he ignored the person dangling from his mouth. His could handle it a little longer yet.
That dealt with for the time being, the brownrider turned his attention to the gold in front of his face. He raised a hand towards the gold's nose and let her choose if she'd let him touch her or not. "Hello Jingth," he said by way of greeting. He let Dsoleth occupy her time while he turned his attention to Meira, who'd just gotten closer. "And hello to you as well Meira. Fun? Of course I am. Who wouldn't find being suspended in the air by one leg fun? Is the view nice from where you are?" T'san started out sarcastically (though there wasn't a biting edge to it) before sliding straight into a playful flirtation.

A low croon was offered to T’san by Jingth – the gold really wasn’t very interested in the Rider as much as she was in the dragon, but she wasn’t going to be rude. His extended hand, although upside-down, stopping just short of touching her, was barely regarded for an instant before Jingth’s tongue flicked out, lazily licking his palm. Slobbery? Very. His fault for letting her have the final say. Eyeing T’san in amusement, Jingth huffed quietly, turned to Dsoleth, and plopped her muzzle onto his back. Very well, yes, she agreed, tilting her head just enough so she could see T’san and Hers. Headrest, Dsoleth was. Her headrest.
The sarcastic response her question received wasn’t unexpected. She was still grinning, though – the absolute ridiculousness of the situation was hard to grasp. Going straight to flirting was unexpected, though. Meira blinked, and then laughed, mostly to cover up the flicker of embarrassment. She tilted her head to one side, raising one eyebrow seriously, and then offered, “I’m sure it’d be better if you weren’t turning red. Do you, um,” she peeked up at Dsoleth, “often do…this?”
There was still the strain of amusement in her tone, and she knew it was there, but at the moment, Meira thought it was good she wasn’t just outright laughing. She paused, and then added, “I – should I be trying to rescue you from Dsoleth or anything?”
And then, yeah, she realized that she was probably a little too close when she looked up at Dsoleth and actually had to tilt her head back pretty far, and took two steps back, just in case. Part of it was definitely that if Dsoleth wanted to put T’san down (or drop him. She was vaguely worried that he would get dropped), she was in the way and blood to head wasn’t good prolonged. But – something she wouldn’t admit, ever – the whole proximity thing was enough to make nervous. Not in a bad way, but still.
Jingth, meanwhile, was completely okay with proximity. The gold still had her muzzle resting lightly against Dsoleth’s spine, more out of affection than any real laziness. Meira wanted to take a walk, she was explaining. The hatchling is with his sire and apparently there are too many people in the Weyr proper. Did you know Yours is turning a very peculiar shade of red? It’s pretty, but I don’t think it’s considered normal in humans.

The upside down man smiled at the gold's croon. Some dragons ignored him outright. It was nice that Jingth didn't. T'san was quite unfazed by Jingth's lick. Really, it was hard to be squeamish about dragon slobber when part of your leg was in a dragon's mouth. Granted, another dragon's slobber was a bit different from your own, but T'san didn't see much difference. He examined his hand for a moment before grinning and wiping the drool off on his pants. Dragons were funny creatures. They could seem quite human one moment and very beastly the next. Dsoleth certainly kept him on his toes that way.
T'san chuckled at Meira's expression and laugh. That was a very nice way to avoid the question. Tricky girl. The way she'd said what she did was ambiguous. "Do I do this often? Hmm, well let's just say it happens more often than I like to admit. This brown's a brute y'see. He likes being cruel to me. Not that you care. You find this terribly amusing, don't you? Red people can be very funny." There was no real accusation in his tone, but he adopted a mock stern face. Although, a red stern face was probably even funnier.
About then, T'san really would have welcomed being rescued. Dsoleth was quite adequetly distracted by Jingth. He was positively delighted to just stand there and let Jingth use him as her own personal couch. It was a little known fact that the brown liked dominant females and golds were generally the most dominant. His previous mate had been quite dominant as well. "Mm. He'll put me down soon enough. I think. He doesn't really like feeling dizzy." In other words, T'san was feeling a bit dizzy and that would transfer over to the brown.
True enough, the brown was beginning to feel it. Jingth's words made him admit that he should probably let His down right about then. So he is. He set about doing so while continuing his conversation with Jingth. It is rather noisy in the Weyr sometimes. It is a bit too cold for many of them to want to come out this far. We don't feel it as much, but the humans have to bundle up a lot. It reminds me of a time I can't remember too well anymore. The brown was alluding to Fort Weyr, of course. The North was quite accustomed to cold weather.
It was a good thing Meira moved. T'san let his arms stretch downward as Dsoleth lowered his head. He really didn't want to be put right onto his head. When his hands touched the ground he used them to walk himself away from the brown slowly until the brown dropped him the rest of the way. "Oof. Beast." At least he was on the ground again. He didn't feel like moving right away though as blood began to move away from his head again. "Now that he has someone to talk to, I don't have to amuse him anymore," he told Meira from his position on the ground.

Upside-down stern face that probably shared a palette with a tomato: Not very scary.
Meira swallowed another laugh, blinking innocently at T’san, offering a relatively noncommittal hum in response to his words, mostly because if she actually tried to say something, she would end up just laughing. Hard not to, even with the faint thought that, yeah, that particular shade of red? Not a good thing on a human. The brownrider’s comment earned a faint crinkle of her nose before she commented, dryly, “Well, at least he’s got self-preservation instincts, if nothing else?” Dizzy dragons, not good. Not that dizzy Riders was, in particular, better, but still.
The awkwardness of getting set down…Meira eased another step back to give T’san more room for his little hand-walking thing, and then. Oh. Yeah, there was the drop she’d been expecting. She blinked down at the brownrider that had basically just been laid at her feet, and then knelt down next to him, sitting back on her heels. “Now you might end up having to amuse Jingth, too,” she pointed out idly. “She’s got her own ideas of what’s amusing, though.” She paused, and then added, “Were you planning on getting up? You’re going to have sand all over you…” There was some mock-reproach in her tone, but mostly amusement – wasn’t often she had people literally sprawled in front of her like this.
Oh? Jingth’s eyes slid half-shut, lazily, cheek rubbing against Dsoleth’s back lightly as she watched him depositing his Rider onto the ground. Meira doesn’t mind the cold very much; preferable to heat, she says. It’s warmer than /between/, the gold added, wryly. But she says it’s because the North was cold a lot of the time and she’s used to it. Which she isn’t. She makes the hatchling dress more warmly, though. Jingth huffed amusement, eyes closing contentedly for the moment. Mm, body warmth. On occasion he resembles a sphere instead of a human, and when he falls over he cannot get back up again. Amusing.
Unfortunately, Meira flailed whenever Jingth wanted to push Riaren over just to watch him roll, and it wasn’t like Riaren was bad at walking, so that didn’t happen very often. A pity, really. Jingth was convinced that Riaren thought it was fun, too, anyway. Was there any particular reason you and Yours came here? Jingth inquired. We won’t disturb you if there was, but if there wasn’t, Yours should make Meira stay. It’s cold and you’re warm and I don’t want to move.

Mm, yup. She found the whole thing funny. To her credit, she wasn't simply laughing at him. She was better than him in that regard. If he'd seen the same thing she had he'd still be laughing his ass off. Then again he found a lot of things funny. Like her comment. He grinned and replied, "Him? Self-preservation? If that was true he wouldn't have picked me up in the first place. I'll admit, though, that he has a better sense of it than I do." Tackling a dragon, even in play, was bound to end up badly somehow. Or maybe that was just him and Dsoleth...hmm.
T'san blinked back up at Meira. Well hello there. He idly thought that looking down at someone and looking up at them was very different. Thankfully, she knelt down by him and he smiled at what she said. "I hope not. She's considerably bigger than Dsoleth. She might squish me," he said with absolutely no concern in his voice. The gold seemed to like the company of Dsoleth and squishing him meant that she wouldn't see Dsoleth. As for getting up.... "But it's comfyyyy." Despite his whiny protest, the man did push himself into a sitting position.
The brown was quite happy to be rid of a His in his mouth. The moment the brownrider was on the ground Dsoleth turned to nuzzle Jingth lightly. Mine prefers the cold because it's easier to deal with, the brown added to what the gold said. He rumbled with amusement at the mental image of a roly poly human hatchling. Interesting. He'd met the little boy after His had suggested it to Riaren. The brown had been pleasant enough but hadn't projected his voice into the hatchling's head. Very rarely did he talk to other humans.
Dsoleth considered Jingth's question and gave the equivalent of a mental shrug. We just came to play somewhere other than the Weyr. We were quite bored. He added, We're glad to be interrupted by you two. The brown momentarily turned his attention to his rider. T'sanmine, keep Jingth's occupied. You can do that much, yes? Since when do you give the orders? Since always, and you know it. Yeah, yeah, whatever. Selfish beast.
Not that T'san really minded keeping Meira company...or having her keep him company, as the situation may be. He had a feeling he was forgetting something though.... Oh right! Thankfully Nevroti was a bit preoccupied with being afraid of Jingth, otherwise he was sure the blue would have been very upset to be forgotten. The brownrider slowly stood up. "Huzzah! I'm up," he told Meira wryly. He tugged on the blue's mind to get him to pay attention. It was okay now. He wasn't so close to the big bad gold, right? The blue crawled out from under the shirt and zipped towards His, quickly burrying himself in one of the shirts T'san was wearing.

Heh. Amusing, T’san. His sitting up had Meira settling back on her heels a little more, her right hand bracing herself against the ground so she wouldn’t lose her balance, tilting her head at him. “So it’s, what, luck that’s been keeping you alive all this time?” The question was mostly rhetorical. They’d obviously done something right to be not, you know, dead. T’san’s actual whining widened her grin. Even Riaren didn’t whine like that. Good to know that he and her one-Turn-old son would get along spectacularly. Or rather, had gotten along spectacularly? Riaren had liked T’san, anyway. Meira wasn’t positive that it went the other way around too, though.
Standing again. She managed it with minimal wobbling (though there was a bit, anyway. Awkward sitting positions did that to you), crinkling her nose slightly at T’san’s proclamation. Anything she might’ve said never made it out, though, suitably distracted by the blue firelizard that burrowed into T’san’s clothing. Meira nodded in the firelizard’s direction. “Wasn’t he hiding in your shirt the last time, too…? With Riaren? Does he always?”
Hmm, that was probably two questions more than she was supposed to ask in one go, but given that she was reasonably certain that, yes, there had been a blue firelizard down his shirt at the time…well, the first two didn’t need to count. The thought of Riaren reminded her of exactly why she’d come out to begin with, and Meira blinked, glancing at Jingth, who looked like she wasn’t planning on moving anytime in the next century or so, and then crinkled her nose slightly in the gold’s direction, smiling despite herself. Amusing, the gold’s preference to browns over bronzes.
“I think your dragon stole my dragon,” she commented, apropos of exactly nothing. “Or vice versa, I guess.”
Vice versa, Jingth informed her, cheerfully leaning into Dsoleth’s nuzzle. Of course it was, pfft; as if she could be stolen. At the brown’s words – specifically, the comment that their interruption was a good thing – Jingth’s muzzle left his back so she could flop flat onto her stomach, a decidedly ungraceful movement. If they were sticking around, she wasn’t going to be uncomfortable. The gold curled closer to Dsoleth, nudging at his shoulder lightly in an unspoken…invitation, order, suggestion, one of the three…to lie down with her.
You should come see Meira and me when you’ve nothing to do, she commented idly. My ‘ledge is large enough to accommodate and we would be pleased to see you both. Because obviously if Dsoleth came to see her, he ought to drag T’san down to amuse Hers, right? Of course. That was just how it worked. Besides, it wasn’t as if it was untrue – Meira liked to see T’san (and was nervous at the same time, something that amused Jingth terribly), and the gold was always pleased to have company, particularly that of one of her males.

T'san grinned at Meira's question and said, "Bingo! Never underestimate the power of luck." It was a comment made entirely in jest because no one could survive on pure luck. Even he and Dsoleth had some skill. They were getting better too. The next time Fort attacked he planned to be more formidable. If he had to choose one or the other to attack, T'san probably would have preferred Benden, but they had an alliance with that one. The brownrider doubted it would last since J'lorin hadn't sent help during Fort's attack. It was something he wanted to discuss with S'rei, if only in light conversation.
His concerns and thoughts oughtn't hold sway over his conversation with Meira so he forced himself to stop thinking about it. The topic had shifted to his firelizard and he chuckled softly. "He was. He doesn't always do it. I was a little surprised he did it then. Right now it's 'cause of Jingth. Golds scare him." It was the blue's own fault he was afraid then since he didn't leave but T'san didn't voice that thought or let Nevroti sense it. The blue always tried to accompany him wherever he went and the brownrider had given up trying to stop him.
T'san followed Meira's gaze to the two dragons and snorted. Geez. Even if he wanted to leave there was no way he'd be able to get Dsoleth to. The brown was almost thrumming with pleasure and it made the T'san rub a grin off his face. "Seems that way," he said with amusement. "Want to walk a bit? Nevroti's going to to give me a headache if I keep him too close to Jingth and it's a bit too cold to just stand around." T'san was capable of simply being idle but if he wasn't laying down then he preferred to be doing something.
Jingth never ceased to amuse Dsoleth when she relaxed. It was just a bit unusual for a queen to flop so ungracefully. Not that he minded it. Whatever was more comfortable to her was okay. It wasn't like anyone could object about it either. The shoulder nudge was largely unnecessary - he would have laid down anyways a moment later - but he took it as an invitation to lay closer than he might have otherwise. The large brown laid down so that there was significant body contact. Hey, she said it was cold right?
The gold's suggestion made Dsoleth rumble contentedly. We'd be most happy to visit. Company is always better than being alone, he told her pleasantly. Dragon and rider alike were quite social and did tend to prefer being with others than alone with each other. Not that they didn't enjoy each others' company, but they were close enough that they didn't really need to spend all that much time physically together unless one or the both of them were upset about something. They were each other's support and should one of them falter the other one would as well.

Her lips pursed in the silent “oh”. Meira tucked her head slightly, the automatic apology almost slipping out before she caught herself. It was less than fair to Jingth if she apologized on behalf of her dragon’s being gold. Although it kind of was their fault; the poor firelizard hadn’t had any problems before they’d come and…invaded T’san and Dsoleth’s game. And she instinctively wanted to apologize, for causing any distress to the blue firelizard, but it wasn’t like an apology was really going to help. Especially since Meira really didn’t have any plans on painting Jingth green anytime soon.
The invitation to walk probably meant more to her than it should have. Meira nodded in agreement, anyway – she’d intended to come out for a walk, after all, and having Jingth temporarily stolen and being replaced with T’san wasn’t that bad a trade. (That thought was kept from the gold; no need to upset her. Although it was entirely possible that her ego was a little on the large side as it was.) She crossed her arms so she could tuck her hands against her body, starting around the two dragons down the beach, glancing back at T’san automatically.
For a moment she was content to just not talk, before it struck her that T’san wasn’t Jingth (although that sounded kind of strange) and that the silence might be taken as awkwardness or coldness or something. The words she offered were quiet, mostly designed to give the brownrider the choice of conversation over silence, or vice versa: “So life’s at least mostly good?”
Jingth cast a brief glance towards Meira and T’san, eyes whirling curiously, before she shrugged. Dsoleth’s was a good human-slave; he wouldn’t let anything happen, she was sure. Which was good; that meant she could focus on using Dsoleth as a personal heater. As soon as the brown lay down, Jingth wiggled a little closer, stretching herself out on the sand like a cat, and her head flopped lightly onto Dsoleth’s back again, the gold nuzzling as close as possible to the junction of neck and shoulder. The wing that wasn’t half-pinned against the brown flared, Jingth settling it loosely around her body. Windbreaker, yes?
Always, she agreed to the brown’s response, pleased, and closed her eyes. Napping on the beach with a Dsoleth as a pillow: Would be better if it weren’t so cold out, but she wasn’t complaining. How long do you think it’ll take them to walk? Her ‘voice’ was quieter, almost a drowsy hum; she intended to use her time wisely. Yes, by napping. What of it?

T'san watched curiously as Meira received that news. She looked like she had something to say about it but didn't in the end. Did it bother him? A little. Knowing someone wanted to say something but wasn't going to always made him more curiosity. He didn't push her to say whatever it was on her mind. He considered them friends and was partial to her company but he didn't know what she thought of him. The best solution to that would be to ask but even T'san had his shy moments, rare as they were. It was safer to remain friends (even if only in his mind) than to make things to awkward to be around each other.
It wasn't like he didn't get his silent victories, or so they man's thinking went as he followed Meira along the beach. He spared a momentary glance for the two dragons and almost chuckled. Well weren't they perfectly comfortable. He wondered not for the first time if he ought to bring Dsoleth out of the weyr when Jingth began to glow. He wasn't as crazy as Dsoleth was when it came to protecting him but he didn't like to see the brown hurt either. T'san just didn't know what to do. Mopey brown dragons were never very much fun.
So caught up in his thoughts, he had completely missed the silence. After the goldrider spoke he remembered that the world did not revolve around him. Obviously if he'd had time to be thinking then conversation had stopped. "Yeah. Much of the same stuff, though I got transfered to a different wing and am no longer a Wingsecond. The training is a bit different and, being completely honest, not exactly to my liking. It's all combat oriented. It'll come in handy for when we're attacked again but most of the other wings get to fight Thread too."
Dsoleth let Jingth settle herself as she would and made himself comfy afterwards - and comfy he was. Though not something he usually did, the brown definitely wasn't adverse to snuggling up with another dragon. Perhaps the reason he didn't do it often was because he wasn't accustomed to taking the initiative. The sleepy question made the brown rumble quietly. Long enough, he responded with subtle amusement. His could be quite distracting. Well-trained, he was.

Elysia had settled herself down the beach a ways down from the brown pair and was leaning companionably against Onyth. The dark dragon was curled up in a windbreak against the cold wind blowing in from the ocean. Not normally one for hot weather the benden pair where having a field day with the current temperatures. Perfect sleeping weather, perfect cuddling weather and perfect weather in general. So much better than the humid nasty heat they had been forced to endure these past months. The pair had fallen into a dose when voices had roused Elysia. T’san yelling something. She knew that voice. Curious the greenrider stood and stretched before nudging Onyth with one foot. “Going for a short walk love. You staying here?” A sleepy yes was the only reaction she got. Smiling the greenrider kissed the top of the dragon’s head before trotting off down the surf.
Hair blowing back in the wind Elysia was in quite a good mood, even going so far as to do a couple of cartwheels down the beach. Not something she would ever be caught DEAD doing in the company of people. Here she was basically pretty much alone. It was nice to let her hair down a bit so to speak. Lazily she walked down the beach in the direction she thought she heard the voice. Wind was a good noise carrier though so it was possible that T’san was further away than she thought. Soon shapes where noted on the horizon. Distinct dragon shapes although it was hard to tell the color from this far away. As Elysia grew closer however the metallic gleam gave the one of the dragons away as gold and the other had no metallic gleam. Brown by the size likely. So more than likely she had finally found T’san.
Examining the beach she saw two people coming towards her at a slow clip. To say the greenrider was excited was an understatement. Elysia loathed bronzeriders but goldriders where not far above. The chance to possibly mess with one, while coming off as unintentional of course, was like a gift from Faranth herself. Plus as of yet neither of the riders had caught sight of her. Another perk. Giving herself a quick check over and reassuring herself that she was just as stunning as ever she made her approach. Slow at first and then in the graceful attention snaring glide she had adopted once it became clear she was close enough to be noticed.
“T’san! Oh T’san!” Elysia called in a clearly happy tone. Upon reaching the pair she quite promptly moved right past Meira (Oh there was a goldrider there?) to stride right up to the brownrider. One hand reached back to grab his ass while her other claimed his chin, forcing his face to hers so she could kiss him deeply while shamelessly molding her body to fit his. Breaking away she nipped briefly at his lips not moving at all to disentangle herself, hand still massaging his rear. “I haven’t seen you in forever lover just where have you been?”

Okay. So it would probably be totally selfish to not want T’san to be in a fighting wing. No, definitely, considering how badly Selenitas needed to be able to defend itself. Meira nodded, slowly, and would’ve asked who his Wingleader was (and she actually was curious; she had a sneaking suspicion that Mi’rah was a Wingleader and although the last time she’d seen him had been more than awkward enough for a lifetime or two, she still liked him well enough). Well, she would’ve, if someone else hadn’t been approaching, and calling for T’san. She didn’t recognize the greenrider, though, which probably meant there’d be at least some awkwardness, considering she’d probably end up being the odd one out, but…
Her thoughts stuttered to a halt when Elysia actually did reach them, though. Awkward? Yes, definitely. Just not the variety she’d been anticipating. Her eyes widened for a moment before Meira looked away, swallowing. The sea suddenly became very interesting, because of all the things she didn’t need or want to see, what was going on next to her had to be pretty high up the list. Now if only she could turn off her ears that easily, because Faranth. She barely remembered to clamp down on the feelings of acute mortification (and yes, there was upset and even jealousy in there too) before they could reach Jingth; no need to ruin anything for the dragon too.
Just…lover?
What just happened? Jingth asked, and she could tell that the question was for Dsoleth as much as it was her, the gold’s sleepy contentment in the back of her mind vanishing, replaced by warm anxiety, concern.
N – nothing, and it was so obviously a lie that she wondered why Jingth didn’t call her out on it for a moment before – right. Dsoleth could (would?) tell her, too. And then Jingth would know exactly why she was feeling so stupid (because she hadn’t ever asked whether T’san had a weyrmate or even a girlfriend; it had struck her as being an awkward question and now…this). Of course the dragon would try to make her feel better, but at this point, Meira didn’t want that sympathy; she just wanted to get away. And possibly work three straight shifts in the Infirmary or something, just to get everything out of her mind.
“Um,” she stammered, because just leaving would be rude and why she even cared was beyond her, but still. She couldn’t quite bring herself to look up at either T’san or Elysia, though, and settled for addressing the ground at their feet instead. “I’m – I think I’m going to head back, I’ll see you around, I guess.” Hopefully he’d think she was just giving them privacy or something or anything. She turned, almost a pivot, and bowed her head to hide the bright red humiliation that was still very, very obviously written across her face, biting her lip. Her pace was quite a bit faster than the one they’d been going at before – but hey, all the quicker to give them privacy, wasn’t it?
No matter the justifications, it still felt like running away.

T'san didn't get a chance to ask how things were foing for Meira or hear what she had to say about his wing placement because a familiar voice called out his name. "Uh-oh," he voiced his displeasure aloud. It was an Elysia. That only meant trouble for him, one way or another. To be completely honest, he was quite afraid to find out what the greenrider was like if she lost her temper and he didn't really want to invoke it. But but! There was a Meira present and - oh Faranth, too late! She had already arrived. Even as Elysia swarmed up to him he was already thinking of how to get rid of her.
It wasn't like he minded her...uh, ministrations. Not really. Just...who she was doing them in front of. The brownrider thought he'd been making progress, even if only as a friend, but even friends didn't particularily enjoy watching you be molested. He couldn't exactly deny what was going on - kinda hard to talk when his mouth was already occupied. To his credit, he didn't kiss back...much - but how he wanted to. When his lips were released he let his face fall into a slight frown. Oh, he knew the silver-lining to the situation. He just didn't really want to accept it.
At the question his eyebrows rose in surprise. Lover? "Perhaps it has something to do with...Dwah!?" Meira probably didn't mean to interrupt his admittedly quiet response to Elysia that might have cleared up the situation. "Eh? I...Ngh." Gah. He couldn't even follow after the girl because he still had an Elysia clinging to him. He looked back at the greenrider and groaned. "Elysiaaaa." The whine was back in his voice. "You normally have perfect timing but this really...I'm kinda busy...I was...gah. Just get off will you?"
Unfortunately at that moment Elysia chose that moment to make a movement that brushed against the firelizard underneath his shirt (how he'd managed to avoid the contact before, who knew?) and the blue let loose a piercing wail and began to squirm around in T'san's shirt. The man's mind swam with panic from Nevroti and he roughly pushed away from Elysia. He stumbled backwards a few steps before crouching on the ground. What was going on? T'san was quite disoriented from it all.
Dsoleth felt the faint annoyance and confusion from His before Jingth asked him what was going on and he plucked the information effortlessly from His' distracted mind . An acquaintance of Mine has showed up. A certain Elysia of Onyth. She has quite effectively plastered herself on him and...oh. She called him lover? There was confusion in the brown's tone and rightly so. He would know if His had taken a lover. Besides, T'san wouldn't take a lover if his heart wasn't in it (minus the time he was depressed after Aliene's death). The sudden panic rushing through His' mind had the brown rumbling unhappily. Did humans have to be so annoying? He had been having a good time.

Elysia was completely shameless in her near molesting of the brownrider. Even as her lips released T’san’s she still kept her body glued to his. You would be hard pressed to find any space between the pair. Seemingly nonchalantly the greenrider’s dark eyes flicked to Meira in response to her murmured excuse. The look on the poor tings face was priceless. There was nothing better than crushing the dreams and hope of metallic rider. Tch they deserved it in her opinion.
Eyes going back to her ‘victim’ as he tried to murmur Dmitri’s name she pressed a finger against this lips. “Shhh lover. No more speaking.” Elysia's hand traveled upwards, stroking along the outside of T'san's thigh up his abs and over his chest. “All I want to hear from you….” A screech cut off her next words and the benden woman had to react quickly to keep her feet as T’san actually shoved her backwards. Momentary irritation flashed in her eyes but the feeling was quickly quelled when she saw the reason for the shove. Whoops seems as if she had unintentionally set his fire lizard off. What the hell was it in his shirt for? Some kind of touch alarm? Well it went off a bit late didn’t it?
Elysia’s eyes flicked from the brownrider back to the retreating goldrider. There really was no stopping the smile that graced her face. Happy she was with the results. Went better than she expected. Dark eyes flicked back to T’san and she half lidded her eyes regarding him under long lashes. Flicking her dark hair over her shoulder she strutted towards him purposely licking her lips slowly. “Been to loooooong hun.” Just in case the goldie was still watching she couldn’t drop the whole façade yet. Perhaps she should have felt bad about what chaos she had just wrought. But no. All she felt was giddy about it. Maybe the goldrider would go home and cry. That would make it more than worth any anger she eventually received from T’san.
Onyth from her curled up position down the beach lazily raised her head and snorted. Naughty girl Elymine.
