Oh…oh. Bye, Mimic called quietly after Aliene, politely; a scrambling hop took him onto Meira’s shoulder again and he rubbed his head affectionately against her jaw, eyes swirling slowly as he stared after Aliene. He liked everyone, did Mimic, and Aliene was no exception. It didn’t occur to him that she didn’t like him – she hadn’t outright said so, so she didn’t feel that way, did she? He wanted to call the greenling ‘pretty’ (as in, ‘bye, pretty’) out of habit, but it felt strange. Because Lilitu was the prettiest, so it wouldn’t really be a compliment. Loved his darkling very much, Mimic did. He curled contentedly against Meira’s shoulder, tail slipping down to wrap around her hair to keep from falling, though her pace was quite regular.
The goldrider glanced down at Spice, amused for a moment. If only Monster were more playful; Spice probably took up a lot of time but he was more fun than Monster was – not that she really had any time to spare, though. T’san’s words made her look up at him again and she half-smiled despite herself. The Infirmary was always busy, but she distinctly remembered his spraining his wrist and being worried – of all things – that his dragon would throw him into the river or something. “If ‘finding a reason’ involves being hurt, please don’t…” A slight crinkle of her nose at the mere idea, though she didn’t believe that he actually would, and the soft teasing note in her voice gave that away. “I wouldn’t mind, though, if you’re really that bored…”
Yes, that was as close as she’d get to actually asking for company. Whether it was out of shyness or what little pride she had (if it was the latter, it was to be blamed wholly on Jingth) was uncertain; Meira probably wouldn’t even know herself if she’d thought about it. As it was, the question as to her…what, life?...proved to be adequate distraction and she raised one hand to push back her hair absently, rounding a corner before she answered. “Busy, I guess. Lessons, the Infirmary, Riaren, and Jingth and Mimic…but the Gather was nice, yes.” Mostly. Extremely surprising, awkward at some parts, downright uncomfortable at others but generally nice. Mimic, anyway, had had fun – Chasing Lilitu (and Catching her, though at Jingth had helped keep her sane) and window-shopping for Doppelganger.
“I guess being busy’s better than being bored,” she added, thoughtfully, though sometimes she wished she didn’t have anything to do except curl up with Jingth and Mimic. Doubtful she’d ever have time to do that, though; she’d be starting lessons with either Kaegan or Savitri soon. “Generally speaking, anyway…” After all, she did like spending time with Riaren, too, as well as Jingth and Mimic; the Infirmary was somewhere she chose to take part in; and Lessons weren’t terribly boring.
