"I would say you are different, yes. I've never seen that side of her before." L'nu agreed, finding himself a spot to sit out of the way as he watched Rose fly in crazy circles about the room. Since Samael didn't seem inclined to go anywhere. "How long? Your guess is as good as mine, really. It's never the same. What she sees in what, I've never managed to figure out. All I know is that she's got this notion that everything should be as she sees it ought to be. Unfortunately, that idea seems to change continuously, so actually getting anything right from one given moment to the next is ... well ... nigh impossible." L'nu shrugged slightly. He'd gotten used to this ages ago.
"As for why .. again, your guess is as good as mine." L'nu pulled a stick of jerk meat out of his pocket and tore off a few bits, setting them out on the table nearest to hand, spaced a few feet apart. Whether that would lure her down to stuff her face to silence or not, he could only hope.
For right now, she was starting to hit a few notes that were rather unpleasant on the ear. "I never should have called her in." L'nu remarked wryly.

Prodding his tender arm a few more times, wincing both from the pain in his arm and in his ears from Rose's screeching, Samael took a deep breath and said, "Well, sir, it hurts terribly, but I think it's fine. Luckily it's my off-hand that got hurt... would you mind leading me back over to my chair? I'd like to try to finish my bowl before it dries out completely, while I still have Rose's shape fresh in my mind." With that, Samael stood slowly, still wincing a bit from his bruises, and Heimdall immediately moved alongside him, still keeping an eye on the oil-shining gold flying about the rafters.

"... I can do that." L'nu agreed, moving to rest a hand upon the potter's shoulder and guide him to where he wanted to be. He hated to leave the fellow so banged up and without any care, but ... he had offered. He could do no more than that. L'nu was particularly careful of the canine as well, not sure if the creature would be easily set off or not. He certainly didn't want to find out the hard way!!
As a sudden moment of relief to the senses, Rose found an open window and whisked out through it, taking her horrific voice with her as she went. Why she hadn't simply betweened ... L'nu could only surmise that she was trying to summon a horde of flitters again. To what end, he really couldn't fathom.
"Is there anything else I can get you?" L'nu asked once Samael was settled in his chair again. "Terribly sorry about all the disruption," he added, deciding that it was probably best if he left rather soonish ... before everyone else came at him with picks and shovels.

Samael accepted L'nu's help across the room, then sat carefully down at his stool. "Thank you, sir," he said, as he reached out and found that thankfully, his jug of water had not been knocked over by the chaos. Taking it in the hand of his good arm, he felt around gingerly with his injured arm to find his bowl, and then poured the water carefully over it to re-wet the clay. He then moved his left foot around until he found the wheel's petal, and began to pump it slowly, spinning the wheel as he distributed the water over the bowl evenly to prevent it from drying out and cracking.
Once he was satisfied with the moistness of the bowl, he set the water jug down carefully and reached across for his tools... only to find them all knocked to the floor by Rose. Grimacing as he sighed inwardly, he whistled quietly to get Hiemdall's attention, then said, "Heimdall, number two pick." Heimdall's ears perked at the whistle, and as he heard the command, he immediately dropped his head to the ground, sniffing around at each tool in turn. Finally, he found what he was looking for slightly under a nearby stool, and pawed at it until it had rolled out enough for him to carefully pick it up between his front teeth, wherein he trotted back over to Samael and placed his head under his good arm.
Thanking and praising the canine, Samael carefully retrieved the tool from between his jaws, and placed one hand on the bowl to keep track of it's location as he held the pick at the ready. He sat like that for a good minute or two, the only movement being the hand he kept on the bowl so as to maintain it's shape, until he suddenly moved his pick arm forward, simultaneously slowing the rotation of the bowl as he began to carefully carve shapes into the side of the bowl, slowly forming a long, sinuous firelizard that bore an unmistakable resemblance to Rose, along with a number of rose blossoms surrounding the carved flit.

L'nu was shocked at the training that the canine had apparently received. To be able to fetch a specific tool like that ... it was amazing. But as Samael went to work, L'nu collected up the rest of the tools and laid them out near where Samael was working. And then he just stood there and watched. In watching the bowl, and Samael's hands alone, L'nu almost forgot that the potter was blind. Remembering that detail, he was quite impressed.
But, he was also aware that he probably should leave the fellow alone ... not only did he have some duties of his own to see too, he'd created plenty enough chaos already for one day. "I ... maybe I'll drop in another time. Keep up the good work." L'nu bid, before edging toward the door lest he cause more mass mayhem.

Not pausing in his work, his hands seeming to operate completely independently of the rest of him, Samael called out, "I understand, sir. Thank you again. Heimdall will lead me to the infirmary if I feel it necessary, and I know you're busy as a dragonrider. I should have this bowl done today, just find me in the weyrfolk apartments whenever you'd like to pick it up, or else I can bring it when the hatching occurs."
Smiling a bit despite the pain in his arm, Samael continued to work on the bowl in silence, Heimdall settling down again next to his master, leaving the two sitting once more nearly the exact same way L'nu had found them originally... just with a few additional bruises.
