It started with a vibration. Elisabeta, ever the light sleeper, woke immediately, momentarily confused as to why the dragons were calling for a hatching when there were no eggs on the sands. A glance towards Rakmaninoth revealed how wrong she was, though. The dragon, eyes whirling a terrified yellow - that was a color Elisabeta had never seen in her green's eyes before - was crouched as low as she could get, clutching her sleeping couch for dear life. As the Candidatemaster swung her legs over the edge of the bed, the floor seemed to try to buck her off, building up to the sort of roll that would be familiar to sailors... except that they weren't anywhere near the sea. Elisabeta wasn't one to panic, but this was not something she had ever experienced before. Freezing in place and clutching her bed, she found she couldn't do much more than reach up to cover her head with one arm and watch her Weyr shake itself to pieces around her. Her desk seemed to walk away from the wall, shedding papers and files and big heavy records, which littered the floor nearby. Luckily, the Candidatemaster wasn't much of one for decoration and therefore had nothing mounted on her walls, because anything hung certainly would have joined her neatly organized papers on the ground. The dresser next to her bed fared worst of all - one of the legs broke, toppling the whole thing sideways, directly towards Elisabeta. She managed to scramble out of the way by climbing back on to her bed, but the heavy piece of furniture clipped a knee, sending a shooting pain up her left leg. By the time the shaking stopped - it really only lasted a few minutes, although it felt like forever - chunks of stone from the corners of the ceiling and rough parts of the wall had chipped away and fallen, clouding the destruction in a layer of dust and chips of rock. Glows littered the floor, giving the whole room a ghostly light. Coughing, the Candidatemaster sprang into action. Others would likely be frozen, but not battle-hardened Elisabeta. Throwing her riding jacket over a floor-length nightgown, she dashed for the common room of the Candidate barracks as a terrified Sunshine settled (silently for once) around her shoulders. Rakmaninoth skulked to her ledge, only to find it blocked. Elisabeta, feeling Rakmaninoth's growl of frustration through her whole body, decided to check first on the girls. Sticking her head in the door, she called, "Anyone injured? Candidates, assemble in the common room!" Rakmaninoth reinforced her message mentally, looping in all the Bronzes and Golds she could reach. Candidates to the Common Room. It is not damaged; others with quarters on the West side should join them, if they can.--- Welcome to the Earthquake! This thread is for ALL CANDIDATES, ALL SLEEPING RIDERS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE WEYR (check the Rider Weyrs here), and ANY PERSON THAT IS IN THE MAIN HALL (for whatever reason). The earthquake takes place in the middle of the night. It is a really bad earthquake, and Selenitas is located very close to the epicenter, so damage will be extensive. ALL airborne exits on floors 1-3 are blocked off by rubble and large sheets of falling rock; dragons not able to fit in the halls will have to wait for whers to clear their ledges, and/or may attempt to dig themselves out. Floor 4 is in various states of disaster; some dragons may be able to get out. ASSUMING everyone is in their own weyr:
- Elisabeta, Dorava, Anusha, L'am, Er'ani, and Orena should be able to easily reach the Candidate Barracks, assuming they are not injured and their doors are not blocked. - J'on, X'rx, Farryl, K'thay, R'vor and Ithanna will find that the damage to their half of the floor has been heavy, and will need to either climb over large pieces of ceiling or wait for Whers to dig them out - those in the Main Hall and Kitchens will notice that embers thrown out of the banked fire pits have been scattered all over the room, and are quickly starting fires. However, dragons waiting near the Main Hall for their riders will be free to fly where they will. - J'ash, T'san, Mo'rya, Ur'h, X'vier, and M'ze will notice that their rooms are getting really smoky, and are in various states of destruction. Some will be able to reach the Candidate Barracks, some will be able to reach the surface, some will have to wait for Whers to dig them out. - Kaegan, Mi'rah, and Ja'kin will notice mild smokiness, and their damage is moderate to severe. Some will be able to reach the surface, some will be trapped. Things to keep in mind: - Candidates bunk in two long halls (boys and girls) that connect to the Common Room, and have bunkbeds. Bunkbeds won't collapse, but they might fall over. - Only very experienced and highly trained dragons can Between ground-to-air. Dragons under 5 turns of age are very unlikely to know how, and Selenitas-native dragons are also unlikely to know how. - Make sure to read everyone else's posts carefully so you don't contradict. Bolding names may help. - On that note, this is a big quality over quantity moment. If you can keep it short and still have a nice, respondable post, please do! - You have full dominion over your own weyr - destroy it as much or as little as you want. Injure your character as much or as little as you want. - For those who wish to play in the Main Hall or Kitchens: basically all the furniture is turned over, and it's all heavy wood. Kitchen will likely have sharp things all over the floor. - Your first post should set up where your character is, and whether or not they're going to one of the meeting places. They are also welcome to be trapped or lost. - Added: Elisabeta's dragon is speaking only to Golds, Bronzes, and Candidates. Everyone else is on their own for now, but may want to get in contact with Golds, Bronzes, Wingleaders, and the like. - Please let me post at least once in between each of your posts. - Ask questions if you have them! Have fun! Here is an image to help you visualize where things are (HIDEOUS I KNOW):

In retrospect, Anusha was glad her green Minth ad chosen not to sleep on her ledge this night. The initial tremor was not enough to waker, but as the shaking increased, the women found herself confusing, and fearful. Her emotion was amplified by the dragon that had curled herself protectively around Anusha's bed, her right wing partially opened to protect the rider from the falling ceiling. The last thing the woman had seen before her vision went green was a rather large boulder falling where Minth so loved to sun and debris further sealing them in. When the violence stopped, the weyr went silent, only the sound of stone clicking on stone to be heard as the earth rested.
And then the screeching began.
Vyran burst from the basket she had claimed, eyes whirling a vicious red. Her jaws snapped at the air as if it had deeply offended her and needed to pay for such an outrage. Akos hung from her neck, curled as though her were a lover to his friend, a very terrified lover, clinging for dear life at the sudden confusion of his world. "Akos," the woman called, and he promptly dropped and glided over to His. Vyran only then noticed she'd had a passenger, though he escaped a snap of jaws. She would have called the hatchling green, but it was no use for she was too worked up to care. "Minth, what happened?!" Her voice was just a bit too high in pitch for her liking. I don't know, Anumine, but we are trapped. It is not safe here, I would suggest you leave and find somewhere that is. The voice of the green was calm, despite her agitation and yellow eyes. Minth didn't want to be left alone, but she would survive a rock falling on here, her rider would not and that was what she feared.
"I'm am not leaving you." Anusha replied, climbing out of her bed an dover rubble so she could dress. Minth sighed, knowing it was better not to argue with Hers, who would refuse to leave even the door if Minth pushed her out. The green was too large but a massive amount. Then I would have you not leave my side. Uncurling from her protective stance, the green moved over to the remnants of her 'ledge. A tiny shaft of moonlight could be seen through a minuscule hole but the dragon ignored it and leaned into the rubble, shifting to try and push some of the rock out of the way for her own escape.

Farryl-mine! The ground is bouncing! Farryl groaned and rolled over in her bed. It's just a another tremor, go back to sleep, she complained. Something crashed loudly and Farryl sat straight up in her bed. Yes, but now rocks are falling too! she declared in excitement. The green stood with her nose just outside, staring about the shaking world with amazement. Is this normal? "Peppeth, get back inside! Now!" Peppeth shrank back, as another violent shake sent the canyon side crashing over her entrance. Peppeth's eyes went wide and yellow with shock. This is not fun! she decided. Make it stop, Farryl-mine!
Farryl ran to hug Peppeth close, as the weyr continued to shake and drop rocks. Hobbs cuddle into Farryl's shoulder, while Kurro and Faii sat curiously underneath her feet. Floor move, Faii hissed in awe, amazed at anything that could pull off a better prank than her. Fun! Kurro glared venom at her. Not fun! he insisted. Floor bad! Farryl ignored their continued argument as the tremors finally died down. That was a much bigger earthquake than she'd felt in her life.
Taking a deep breath, Farryl felt around for a glow that spread light eerily over the remains of her room. Most of the furniture was in shambles and the floor was littered with rocks and dust. Worse, it looked like the whole dragon exit was blocked by fallen debris. "Peppeth? Are you hurt?" Farryl asked worriedly. The tiny green did a quick circle to check herself. Only a little, she concluded, waving her wings were a few rocks had scored small scratches. Thank goodness for that, Farryl thought, but that still left getting Peppeth outside where it was safer. Finding her door still looked whole, Farryl pulled it open. "Yaah!"
Farryl! What is it? Are you alright? The green surged forward to where Farryl had tripped when the rocks cascaded through her door. "I think so," Farryl scowled at the debris that now covered her legs. That had really been stupid on her part. Pulling the limbs free, she rubbed at the bruises. Her right leg was bleeding from a sharp rock and looked a bit swollen, but she found she could still walk on it. Maybe I should find a healer, Peppeth crooned worriedly. Farryl shook her head. "No time for that now. The others might be trapped or worse." She got up to see if she had enough room to climb over the pile of rocks into the hallway. But, Farryl-mine, you're hurt! Peppeth insisted. Farryl was already making her way through the gap, wincing as her leg scrapped the rocks. "I'll be fine, I promise. Stay here and ask Rakmaninoth if they can reach the Candidates." As much as she hated asking Elisabeta for anything, it was her duty after all. Peppeth sighed, but gave up the argument. Rakmaninoth? Farryl-mine is going to try and reach the others. Can you and Yours see if the Candidates are safe?

The first thing Kyrstin noticed was his bunk falling over. This was especially inconvenient since it dumped him in a tangled heap onto the floor. Cursing and scowling, Kyrstin fought to free himself from the sheets as the shaking ground grew more intense. What in Faranth's name was going on? Nothing like this had ever happened before! Shoving the offending blankets aside, Kyrsting gazed around the finally still room to assess the damage. Some of the other bunks had fallen too, but everyone looked alive so far. "Anyone injured?" he asked stiffly. He might have mixed feelings about these soft hearted people, but he had a job to do.
At least until that awful green monster interrupted his thoughts. Sharding females didn't know when to leave well enough alone! Go to the Common Room she said, Kyrstin grumbled. He would go to the Common Room when he was good and ready, and not before. She wasn't queen, for Faranth's sake and he was quite capable of handling himself. Even, he thought, when Pern suddenly decided to shake them from its surface. He started checking on the other boys, starting with Kaius, who had the misfortune of being in the bunk above his.

The earthquake came faster than expected, and yet when it jarred her from her bunk, it slowed. Rosanna felt herself flying through the air, thrown from her bunk in a rather unseemly manner, and it was almost as if her brain had sped up so much, that time was slow. She saw each individual picture her eyes took as she twisted, falling to the ground in almost achingly slow motion, putting her arm out in front of her, bracing herself and hitting the ground, rolling to the side as the bunks fell. But still she was buried beneath them.
Her breath was knocked out of her, a small cry of pain emitting from her as she felt a rib or two crack. If that wasn't enough, the earth wouldn't stop shaking and Rosanna felt herself going slightly dizzy and disoriented even as her eyes focused on the wall. Where one stone was wiggling its way out of its spot, slowly, achingly slowly, until it fell. Its prize following, clanging to the ground with a sound that almost seemed louder than the screams around her.
Shards.
The link between a dead man and a candidate girl, that can't be good.
Hide it before riders get here... she thought to herself, frustrated and stuck under the rubble, trying to move her arm from beneath a bunk and whimpering in pain, realizing that not only were her ribs cracked, but her entire arm was broken. Shells.
Cotton, who had screeched in panic when it all began, disappearing out the of the girl's dorm, glided back in chirping at Rosanna stuck under the rubble.
"Cotton," Rosanna gasped, realizing what her mandyr may be able to do, "Cotton. Hide it."
The green chirped, peering back the shiny and then at Rosanna, the order being placed firmly on her mind before the tiny mandyr chirped an affirmative, dragging the silver brush further into the rubble and chaos even as Rosanna hoped that the other candidates were to busy with their own worries to notice.

J'on's finger gently traced the rim of his top-hat absentmindedly as steaming tea was poured into his delicate china cup. "Thanks, Craivaruth." The dragon nodded and retreated a few steps away from the silk-draped table, somehow holding the kettle. "What were you saying, love?" J'ash took a sip of his tea - he didn't notice it's complete lack of flavour - and straightened out a few wrinkles of his dress that rose on his thighs, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Oh yes, I was just about to say that you and I should- ...J'on, can you please stop shaking the floor?" J'on tilted his head at the feminine rider. "That's not me."
WAKE UP!!
The uncharacteristically terrified scream of the blue-green dragon caused J'ash's entire body to spasm awake. "What, what's wrong?! What's wrong?!" The topless Bluerider's eyes were hectic with panic as he quickly realized that there was a gray cloud quickly forming across the ceiling of his weyr. "Fire?!" He exclaimed, before yelping as the subtle tremors he hadn't noticed became violent thrashings. J'ash clutched the bed as tightly as he could, watching all the glows that were perched up high come tumbling down.
J'ash's eyes widened with absolute fear as a fissure in the middle of the floor grew in size, spreading almost instantly to the walls, ceiling, and the weyrledge (which was blocked from the rest of the weyr). Craivaruth roared in anguish as the rumbling worsened and the weyrledge cracked further under the stress. The Blue scrambled along the side of the ledge, varying sizes of debris hitting his back. With a loud roar of rock, the ledge shook and broke off the side of the canyon, falling downwards in large pieces. Craivaruth scraped the small area of rock he had found to perch on in an attempt to not be violently thrown off of it. We're having an earthquake! I'm okay, get out of there! NOW!
Three firelizards poofed next to Craivaruth. The fourth, Tux, was too stunned from being awoken in confusion to between. J'ash realized what was about to happen and threw his torso over his Brown bonded, wrapping arms around the firelizard. Portions of the ceiling rumbled and began to fall. Some bounced off of his shoulders and back - and the next thing he knew, a very sharp, very painful fire exploded in his head.
Tux managed to crawl out from under His as J'ash toppled forward, falling out of bed. Craivaruth roared again, feeling that his rider was seriously injured. The three outside firelizardsbetweened inside to Theirs. J'ash lay unconscious, face pale. All four Browns chattered and squealed in panic, hooking their little talons into his pants to attempt to drag him towards the door. When he only budged a few inches after maximum effort, the Brown Brigade betweened to J'on's weyr in an attempt to communicate that something bad had happened.
After a long while, J'ash's eyelids opened and stayed open, glassy vision staring at the crumbling ceiling. The Bluerider continued to lie motionless on the ground, numb to the quakes that trembled the floor pressed against him. Craivaruth, balancing on his perch, threw his terrified yellow eyes to the skies and other weyrledges to find other survivors. Rinagth! Feyrianth! Eveyth! Dsoleth! Are you and Yours alright? Mine is injured; he is completely unresponsive. the Blue launched into the skies - what seemed to be the only safe place anymore - and glided in circles, looking for others.

Cainith was jolted awake by Rollhead's mindscreaming in his head, "GODDESS!!! HELP ROLLHEAD!!! THE WORLD FALLS!!!" He was about to berate the blue salamandyr for bothering him when a huge crash brought him to full consciousness and he sat up, still-bleary eyes catching the chaos around him. Rocks and dust fell from the cracks in the ceiling, and the Candidates around him were waking up as he just did, scrambling and yelling as bunkbeds fell over and furniture collapsed.
Standing quickly from his bed, he almost fell over as the shaking ground wobbled under his still sleep-addled legs, but recovered as Rollhead scurried up to his shoulder. His years in the Mining Crafthall told him exactly what this was... earthquake, and a big one! His mine training came to the fore quickly, and he grabbed the blanket from his bed, wrapping it around his face to protect him from dust inhalation as the remainder of it flapped down his back like a cape, then quickly tugged on a pair of trousers and slipped his bare feet into his boots.
Suddenly, as a chunk of rock the size of a chair fell from the ceiling and crushed into a (luckily empty) fallen bunk bed, a single thought crashed to the front of his brain: Ivy! Mouth following his brain, he immediately bellowed, "IVY!!!" and began rushing towards the door towards the hall that separated the male and female barracks, bull-rushing anyone who got in his way in his single-minded quest to find Ivy and make sure she was safe.
Lilu was having a wonderful dream involving the most handsome boy when suddenly a strange jostling woke her up. Opening her eyes to see who was shaking her, she was confused to find no one there, but then felt something falling on her face. Brushing her hand across her cheek, she looked at her hand in the dim light to notice a thick layer of dust, and looked up in time to see a large piece of the ceiling above her on the top bunk of her bunk bed crack sickeningly, then suddenly start falling towards her.
Suddenly, everything went black, and next thing she knew she was in a crouch on the floor of the barracks, her bunk bed a dozen feet away crushed beneath a huge chunk of stone. Confused at what just happened, she stood up, stumbling a bit both from a pain in her head as well as the shaking ground, and looked around, seeing the other female Candidates in the same state she was, rushing around in a panic as chunks fell from the roof and furniture fell over or collapsed.
Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of a girl trapped under some rubble and debris... the name Rosanna came to her mind as she rushed over to the girl, ignoring the fact she was still in nothing but her panties. As she began tugging at the heavy stone and chunks of wood holding the girl down, she realized she wasn't nearly strong enough to move it, and the entire situation finally crashed down on her, causing her to burst into tears as she continued to frantically tug at the stone trapping her fellow Candidate, desperately yelling out, "Help, please! Anyone, help! She's trapped!"

The blonde candidate was having a good sleep for once. Her little blue firelizard was culled up in the depression of her chest and her neck, his body rising and falling in sleep. It was probably a good thing flits couldnât mindspeak, otherwise Sammy would have her up at all hours of the night. Then again, it was probably a bad thing because it was harder for the firelizard to wake up his bonded WHEN THE WOLF EFFING WORLD WAS FALLING IN!
The flit was alerted by a slight shifting in his bed. Lifting his head, he would gaze sleepily at the world around him, the tip of his tail flicking lightly. He was about to go back to bed when something fell from the ceiling. Lifting his head, he saw great cracks had formed and things were shifting and moving. It took the flit a second to realize that this was not normal and his eyes yellowed in alarm. Lifting himself off the bed, he chirruped loudly, pulling at his sleeping bondedâs hair and sending her pictures of the moving ceiling. Unfortunately, Vellani probably thought she was dreaming and batted the frantic flit away.
Sammy was getting frustrated and desperate at this point. His needed to get out of that bunk THIS VERY INSTANT, and he zoomed down, chomping on her ear as hard as she could. Ani shrieked in pain, leaping up in her bed to glare at the flit while she held her bleeding ear. â Shardit, Sam. What the fuâŚâ The flit was gone. She looked around, then up as she heard his chirping, only to see a giant bit of the ceiling falling towards her. She didnât have enough time to react. The girl tried to scramble away, but howled in pain when the giant chunk fell right near her leg.
Hissing in pain, she tried to turn around so she could push the bit of stone off her leg, but before she could manage that, a bunk fell, smacking her on the head and knocking her out, further pinning the girl beneath the rubble.
Sammy flew around where he knew Vellani to be, chirruping and squeaking. The frantic firelizard did laps around the barracks, trying to get someone to notice him. When everyone seemed too afraid to notice him, he landed back on the pile Vellani was on, ruffling his wings in distress and making sad little chirping sounds.
(( No one should know that Ani's buried under here unless they see the firelizard sitting on top of her. XD ))
The tall boy was sleeping, snoring as he ignored the quaking of the earth. Fortunately, King wasnât quite so asleep. The mandyr had woken up at the first sign of trouble and sat perched on his bondedâs chest for a long time. Finally, he chirped. KAIMINE WAKE! The salamandy began to nudge at Kaiusâ head, his hands, anything he could reach of the boyâs. The ground is shaking. Up, up! Kai slept like an ordinary teenage boy and was loathe to rise. Unfortunately, the world had other plans for him when he felt his bunk falling. Eyes shooting open, he flailed long limps, King gliding off his chest as the mandyr moved to miss the crashing of bunk and owner to the ground.
Kaius was buried beneath furs and mattresses, but unlike Vellani, these things were easy to move and he exploded from the furs, nearly smacking poor Kyrstin in the face in the process. â King?â He questioned, glancing around. Suddenly, the bronze mandyr exploded from under a blanket and wrapped his shaking body around Kaiâs neck.
The tall boy acknowledged the one who had been trying to help him and got to his feet quickly, glancing to where Cainith was running and then to Kyrstin. â We have to check on the girls.â He had to make sure Lilu was safe. Sure she stood him up, but he liked her nonetheless.
August was still sleeping, snoring loudly when the earthquake started. The older candidate was clearly too lazy to rise, even as his bunk bed shook and the sound of Elisabetaâs dragon sounded in his head. He groaned, shifting himself, clearly too lazy to get out of bed. His internal clock told him that it was still too early to get out of bed, and soâŚhe didnât.
Jeth was jolted awake by his ledge shaking under him. Pissed off by the sudden jolt into wakefulness, he roared loudly. The sound served to wake up Lâam, who was pretty much buried under his furs. â Wha?â He asked sleepily, getting up quickly. He glared over to where he knew his dragon to be. â Again, Jeth? Seriously?â The dragon wouldnât answer though. Someoneâs ledge from somewhere above had fallen, crashing into the blue still sitting on his ledge.
Jeth bellowed, falling down, unable to spread his wings to take flight because of the rubble on his back. The blue dragon and rubble crashed to the earth and was silenced by something slamming into his head. Eyes wide, Lâam was filled with pain as he flopped out of bed and crawled to where his dragon sat moments before. He looked over the ledge, trying to see Jethâs familiar dark blue hide in the darkness, but it was impossible. â JETH! JETHHHH!â He screamed at the top of his lungs, but he didnât get an answer back in return.
For a moment, he thought about jumping off his ledge in an attempt to get to his injured dragon, but thought better of it at the last second. He didnât even bother dressing as he lunged at the doors, ramming into them. It took some work, but he was able to clear the rubble away from the other side of his doors with a couple of good pushes. He flew down the stairs, eyes wide with pain and worry. â HELP, HELP! Jeth is buried under rubble and wonât answer me!â He finally made it outside and had to steady himself on a railing. Everything was buried under giant rocks. He had no idea where his dragon was.
Legs buckled as the dragonrider faced a monumental task. Jeth, JETH! Answer me, please!
Only silence remained.

The light was red, the walls glowed pinkly like dark rose crystals, reflecting the lust in the dark room. Moârya was not alarmed as the shadows lengthened and he felt someoneâs fingertips ghosting over his body, he was however, mildly surprised to find that his clothes had vanished. He hoped they werenât on the floor, heâd never get the wrinkles out.
Then he was falling backwards into a deep ruby mist that matched the walls perfectly, a mist that supported him, Moârya wriggled around in the mist, trying to get glimpse of who was with him. There were teeth in his ear, needle sharp, not nice teeth, and the world was shaking, the mist suddenly hard to breath and filled with fear. Wake you. All is not well. Protect us, preserve us. The voice confused him, it didnât belong here, any more than the teeth and the fear.
Moârya opened his eyes and batted Evil away from his ear. The fear was still here, Ghost pressed Gaia close to Moâryaâs side with her own body, chattering softly to the young green while the goldâs eyes whirled a yellow spectrum at dizzying speed. The shaking was still here too and that cleared away the red/pink flim of the recurring lustful dream very quickly indeed. âWhatâs happening?â he gapsed out, looking wildly around the room as it began to shake harder than ever. Glowbaskets tumbled off the walls, spilling their bright burdens all over the room, the mirror, Moâryaâs prized possession, followed them and shattered a wave of glinting shards. An earthquake is happening. Even Epifayrmuthâs voice sounded rather strained as the tiny bronze darted in off the weyrledge, just ahead of a rain of rocks from the level above.
Gathering up his pets Moârya leapt out of bed, dragging the covers with him and sprinted across the room to cower with his dragon, both of them sheltering against the bronzeâs couch with Wit and the firelizards between them, as shelves, their contents, and finally bits of ceiling came crashing down around them and sometimes on them. Finally it seemed to be over, Moârya looked up, took a breath to speak to his bronze, and choked, the air was full of dust. Weâd better get out of here. Moârya gave up on true speech while he tried to clear his lungs. this dust canât good for anyone.
Agreed. The firelizards should go now. I will send them, and Ghost can take Wit. First Evil, then Gaia left, both spreading wings and vanishing as soon as they were airborne. Ghost chirped regretfully, she didnât want leave but the others needed protection. Escape you two. Not hurt, will miss you, escape soon please. Need cuddles. Wit commented as his golden slave wrapped talons and tail around him and took him away. Of course Moârya and Epifayrmuth would be eager to escape and cuddle him, they were his best slaves.
It seems to me that we are trapped here Moârya, we cannot escape via the weyrledge. The bronze stabbed his tail toward that exit, now filled with rubble. I suggest you try the door, I may be able to squeeze out if the way is clear. Mind you donât injure your feet any further. At Epifayrmuthâs words the bronzerider looked down to find his feet were cut in several places, probably by the broken mirror, he was forced to hobble toward the door leaving a trail of bloody footprints. Blocked. He reported after trying the door and slamming his body into it several times. Then we dig ourselves out. The bronze replied, rising and grumbling as the new bruises and lacerations to his body made themselves known.
Jâon wake. The floor... moves. The green flared her wings up and leaned her muzzle down toward the floor, curious about his, it had never happened before had it?
Jâon groaned, turned over and flailed one hand in Rinagthâs general direction. âDonâ wanna. Still dark. Gâ baâ tâ sleep.â The greenrider resolutely closed his eyes determinedly. He was sleeping dammit. A moment later his eyes snapped open again and he sat up sharply, blinking. The floor is moving more now. Rinagth pointed out helpfully as Yu yowled in sheer terror and flung himself onto Jâonâs chest, gratefully sinking his claws into the greenriderâs flesh, gazing up with his ears laid back, fur fluffing out and his green eyes wide with fear.
Jâon might have reacted to having the feline cling to him in such a manner if the tremors in the room werenât getting steadily worse, then there was an almighty snap and one corner of the bed sagged down as the leg folded up underneath it. MAKE IT STOP FUGLY SLAVE! The second bout of howling and sinking claws into Jâon came as the blue salamandyr shot out from under the collapsing bed to latch onto Jâonâs arm. âI think weâd better-â
Too late Rinagth cut her bonded off, even as Jâon rolled out of bed, supporting the feline clinging to him with his free hand, then leapt backwards to avoid a falling chunk of rock. Itâs raining rocks outside as well. The green no longer looked curious, only scared. Jâon did his best to rush across the room to comfort her but the floor kept trying to fling him away and he ended up on his knees in the middle of the room, clinging to both cat and salamandyr waiting for the earth to stop shaking. Somewhere in the chaos Rinagth roared in fury. MY TAIL! My beautiful tail...
As soon as the shaking of the floor subsided to a manageable level Jâon unhooked the cat from his shoulders, wincing as removing the claws left bigger ones than Yu had left digging them in. Flash was unhooked in the same manner and both were set on the floor although Flash ran straight back up to the greenriderâs shoulder and Yu cowered against his legs until Jâon relented and picked the feline up again as he headed for his dragon. Rinagth was crouched in the middle of the worst destruction zone, whining over a long gash in her tail. Though the greenâs hide was damaged in other places, including just over her eyeridge, that one seemed to bother her most.
However before Jâon could do anything about it, his weyr was full of firelizards, brown ones. The four of them were bonded to Jâash and all of them seemed to have something to say either in the form of shrieking at him, tugging him or projecting images at him at a dizzying rate. âStop, please. I canât understand you. One at a time. Blurm you first.â Jâon picked out the youngest of the four, mostly because he was a very good observer. Slowly the browns settled, three onto Rinagth and one, Tux onto Jâonâs shoulder, where the sweet natured firelizard clung to Flash. The salamandyr seemed nonplussed but willing to accept it for now, and muttered comforting obsenities to his brown friend.
Craivaruth! We are minorly injured but well. The firelizards are here. Or not. Jâon has decided he will try and get to yours. The green sounded slightly miffed as her rider raced across the room, trailing firelizards and salamandyr generated foul language, his uppermost thought to get to Jâash.
Out in the corridor Jâon weaved and leapt, dodging fallen and falling rubble and people with the kind of grace and speed heâd never normally display, only to find the staircase blocked by yet more rubble. With a despairing moan the greenrider did his best to shift some of it.

The first few jerks woke Dorava from her sleep. Sitting up in her furs, she sat with held breath as she listened. She'd felt the tremors from before, but somehow this one was different. How, she couldn't say ... she'd never known a true earthquake. At her hand, Love peeped worriedly as Aonith shifted in her couch. I can't sleep. She mentioned finally.
"Neither can I." Dorava admitted, kicking her feet out of bed and getting up. Scampering across the bed, Love leaped and clung to Dorava's sleeping pants, dangling from there as the Rider walked out of her weyr into the night air. After a brief moment, Aonith joined her, towering over her rider as they looked out into the silent night.
And then all hell broke loose. Dorava crashed to the ground as the ground bucked and heaved. She rolled to one side as she fell, conscious of her mandyr and trying not to crush her. Aonith managed to stay on her feet, but only barely ... and only because she had four massive legs to hold her up as well as a tail to brace with. As Dorava struggled with the ground, movement overhead caught Aonith's attention.
The cliff face was falling in, hitting ledges, breaking off more stone and getting bigger as it fell farther .... all along the way. And certainly where they currently were standing. Rockfall! The green alerted, snapping down at the ground as she still fought to stay on her own feet. Catching her floudering Rider up in her mouth, Aonith leapt into the air and beat it for open air, just barely getting out of the way before the boulders crashed down to where she'd been, filling in an even larger area as it went. Running certainly wouldn't have worked. Wheeling about in the air where she could at least control where her own body was at any given moment, Aonith watched in horror as the entire canyon tried to collapse in on itself.
Dorava held very still, never having ridden around in her dragon's mouth before ... or any dragon's mouth for that matter. Despite how it was her own dragon, it was scarier than shit being trapped in so many meat-cleaving teeth. Even more horrific was watching their home shake itself to bits. "Faranth have mercy." She whispered, hanging onto Love lest the mandyr take a wild notion and decide to run down Aonith's windpipe for the hell of it and choke the dragon.
In horror, they watched as at least one dragon was swept downward in a landslide of rocks, only to be buried there. Just as soon as it was safe to land, Aonith arrowed downward into a rather harsh landing. Be careful mine! she cautioned even as she dropped Dorava to the ground. Leaping past her, Aonith dove into the rocks, massive shoulders rolling as she dug at the rocks, sending small boulders and stones rolling with her efforts to dig the other dragon out.
"My emergency kit was in my room..." Dorava realized, picking herself up out of the dirt and looking toward the part of the avalanche that hid her own quarters ... if they even still existed at all. She turned to look about the canyon, at the wreckage. Did the infirmary still exist either?
Can you hear me? Please answer me. I am coming! Aonith called to the trapped dragon, levering on another boulder until it rolled free. She danced to the side as more rocks fell as a result, but went right back to digging. A fair sized, older green, she was not the most powerful dragon about. But she was still by far and gone many times more powerful than any crew of men working at digging anyone out of the rocks.
Flaring her wings for balance, she did her best to not apply her own body weight to anything that might be laying atop of Jeth's body.
Orena wasn't in her own weyr, much to Riavorth's chagrin when the shaking started. It really wasn't unusual for the greenrider to be missing several nights of the week, but when the world tried to turn upside down, Riavorth really would have rathered that her rider stay home.
Not that either one had known this would happen, ahead of time. Scared and unsure of what was even happening, the young green hunkered in her weyr against the back wall, despairing of when it would just end. Mine? Where are you? she whined, watching rocks crashing down onto her ledge, then onward when her ledge ceased to exist entirely. So far the cavern itself was holding stead and intact.
I'm coming, love. Don't worry. I'm coming. Slowly, I may be awhile. Just ... sit tight. Cover your head, don't let anything hit it. Watch your tail, too. Orena answered, struggling to make her way down the lurching and crumbling hall and stairs. Okay, maybe this night had been a bad night to pick to go off trysting with some hot looking fellow ... but hey. What was a girl supposed to do? Finally, the tremors got so bad she couldn't travel at all, instead she ended up trying out the holding-up-the-wall pose, bracing to keep from being thrown to the ground. Though it was mighty difficult to do, she finally slid down to the floor to ride it out, wrapping her own arms over her head to protect it just in case.
Where are Chubby and Gerroff? Orena asked, trying to keep her dragon focused.
I don't know. But the bird is flying around like it thinks that will help. Riavorth answered, able to hear the cries of the darter as it zipped back and forth within the weyr despite having her own big head tucked under her own belly, tail curled around her haunches and tucked underneath too. What was significant about this pose, she wasn't sure. But hers had said to do it, so it must help somehow.
Once things finally calmed down, Orena dusted herself off and climbed back to her feet, more or less unhurt. For the moment. "Whew, that was a big one, wasn't it? Be careful, there might be after shocks..." She stood still as a few people went dashing this way and that. "Sheesh, you'd think no one had ever seen an earthquake before?" She commented, before following some of them to see if she could help with anything.

Tremors. R'vor griminanced as Piwoth's worried voice wormed its way into his sleeping head. Tremors had become all to common in Selenitas, and R'vor had become rather dis-sensitized to the shaking. Piwoth on the other hand, retained his uneasiness whenever the Pern's surface began to quake. Pisero as well, but the white was much more vocal. Is it serious? R'vor asked groggilly, sure that it wasn't. If anything bad was about to happen, the little white mandyr who was curled up on his chest would be up and causing havoc. It has stopped. Piwoth said after a short pause. Satisfied R'vor closed his eyes.
R"VOR. Less than a minute later, the weyr was collapsing around the rider, and likewise, the ledge around Piwoth. Pisero was up, eyes whirling with Panic, betweening at once. The blue dragon bulged in fear as rocks started falling around him, the ground between his feet crumbling. "Get inside!" R'vor shouted at once, scrambling away from the walls that were tumbling down.
R'vor couldn't process anything, everything was happening far to quickly. R'vor dodged rocks when he could, thinking in horror that the rest of the weyr must be in the same condition. His frantic thoughts were disrupted as Piwoth let out a screach of pain. R'vor fell to his knees, clutching his head, his own scream matching his dragons.
He hurt. He was hurting. He was...dying? No not dying. It felt like dying though. R'vor groaned and clawed at his back. Pinned. His wing was pinned, and it hurt. Help. Piwoth grunted in pain. R'vor opened his eyes, and peared around the demolished room in confusion. The blue bulk of Piwoth was half in, half out- the blue had not made it to safety in time. A large rock had fallen on the dragon's left wing, to big to move, the blue flexed, trying to break free, but to no sucess.
Pisero reapeared over R'vors head, confused emotions pulsating through the white's head. "Find help," the blue rider muttered, running to his dragon's wing and removing some of the smaller rubble. Pisero promptly betweened.

Casandra leared at Casiloy as she cornered him, against the wall. Neither were where they should be, instead of their dorms they were in the Commonroom. Casiloy was frustrating Casandra. He was eaither daft or gay, the female had decided as he seemed completely oblivious to her advances. It didn't matter though, the strange lad could babble on all he wanted about nature, or whatever the hell he was talking about, Casandra would get her way.
"What was that?" Casiloy asked, cutting into Casandra's concentration. "What?" "That shaking," the blonde boy said, cocking his head. "Tremors?" Casandra scoffed. Tremors? There were so many these days, what good did it do to point every single one out? She was about to repeat this notion to the idiot, but changed her mind when everything started shaking in earnest.
"Shards," she muttered as she dove to the floor, under a table. That was the safest place to be...right?
~
Casiloy blinked in confusion as his new friend dove away from him. Yes, the shaking was bad, but did it warrent imediate action? Apperanrtly it did. Casiloy let out a yelp of alarm as a shelf in the corner tipped over, spewing the contents all over the floor as well as plaster of the ceiling began to crumble.
This was no tremor, this was an Earthquake.
He may be not be the most dependable boy in he world, but nobody could say that Casiloy was one to loose his cool. Earthquake meant damage and danger, not only to himself, but to others. The candidate who he had been talking to obviously wasn't going to be anyhelp, she seemed much more interested in self preservation. Rakmaninoth's words penetrated his thoughts and he listened intently, making his decision quickly to ignore them.
Go to the common room? Well that was very find and dandy, but what if some couldn't reach? The damage in the room wasn't catastrophic, but one could not assume that the same could be said for the rest of the barracks. He had to go see if the other's needed help. He would stop start with his roomate Brelas and if he was alright, he would move on to the others.
Casiloy turned away from the common room and ran, yelling for his mandyr' along the way. The brown was stupid, but he was small, and might be able to get into places the candidate couldn't fit.

Idiotmine! Hey! Wake up! Dsoleth shouted at T'san's sleeping mind as the earth began to roll beneath him. The brown could have technically escaped then, the rocks only just beginning to fall towards his ledge. Still, he could not leave His. Edging in, the panicked brown let out a pained roar as a rock fell on his tail and he had to kick it off. That woke T'san up far more effectively than anything else would have. "Dso- wha- the heck is going on!?" The brownrider blurted out as sleep continued to fog his mind even as his weyr broke apart around him.
C'ash, boom, wiggle! Svelte imparted the truth helpfully, though there was an underlying frustration that she couldn't say it properly as she skittered into T'san's hair. The brownrider scrambled out of bed with the green clinging precariously to his hair and immediately made to move towards the door of his weyr. Wasn't that the rumour? Head to the door arches during earthquakes? Bah. He didn't know. A panicked feeling hit his mind then and he realized what he'd forgotten; Nevroti hadn't been sleeping on his pillow ever since he got Svelte. The blue whizzed through the air to reach him only for part of the ceiling to fall on him mid-flight and crush him.
Just like that, the life of Nevroti had been snuffed out and T'san all but collapsed against the door way. Mine, Mine! T'SAN! I'm here, Svelte's here. Don't break on me now. The brownrider took a shuddering breath that seemed to resonate with the earth's shaking. Then, just as suddenly as it started the world froze into place again. T'san heard Dsoleth responding to someone and gathered himself up. He had to keep moving, do something, or he really would get caught up in mourning his firelizard. Besides, he had to make Dsoleth's words to Craivaruth true. Myself and Mine are alright Craivaruth. I'm trapped but I can probably break my way out. Mine is seeing if he can get to Yours.
T'san tried his door and found that though he could open it he couldn't get it all the way open. Still, it was enough for him to get out and he started moving towards J'ash's room through the rubble in the hallway. Was it just him...or was it starting to get pretty smoky? Also...he was still naked, wasn't he? Whoops. While T'san moved to help J'ash, Dsoleth was busy throwing his strength into breaking free from his weyr on his own.

Perhaps it was a lucky thing that Erâani slept curled up with Lketh every night. The albino dragon was awake, his red whirling eyes starting out at the blessedly dark night. Yes he much preferred the night to the day. The pale dragon had just laid his head on his forepaws when the night sounds around him completely stopped. It was utterly silent. Struck by how odd it was he lifted his head back up just as the first tremor started. Ermine! Up now! The statement was a mental yell into his riderâs head, effectively jolting the deep sleeping teen awake. âHuh? What?â The dark haired rider exclaimed as he tried to kick off the covers he was twined in, wondering why the hell the whole world felt like it was shaking.
No time. Lketh said calmly as he simply seized his bonded with his forepaws, blankets and all, and leapt off the ledge just as the stone ledge above him crashed into his own. Screaming obscenities and protests Er'ani clung to his dragon for dear life and squeezed his eyes shut as tight as possible as the albino banked to head far away from the sides of the canyon. Quit squirming or I might drop you Ermine and then you would go splat. Those calm emotionless words had his bonded freezing. âLketh? What the hell is going on?â It seems that we are having a ground attack and the canyon is caving in. He said simply as he hovered, craning his neck to watch the chaos unfolding on either side.
âWhy am I not surprised that this doesnât worry you?â Erâani commented as he finally opened his eyes to watch the chaos as well. When Jeth got buried however he let loose a cry and gestured wildly as Aonith dove to try and unbury the blue. âWe have to help her! Heâll be crushed to death if we donât.â Alright. Hang on. Lketh replied as he snapped his wings shut and dove with a screaming Erâani still clutched in his talons.
Back winging the white dragon deposited his rather roughly and quickly before leaping for Jethâs buried form. Pausing to croon at the green already helping to dig the blue out he shoved his full weight against the huge slab of rock as well. Donât worry. We will get you out my brother. Muscles straining he applied as much power as he could when he felt the rocks shift and bugled encouragement to his smaller green companion.
Erâani stood on trembling legs and turned to Dorava. âShit.â Was his oh so elegant greeting to her. âYou think theyâre too late?â Dark eyes watched the dragons as they frantically tried to unbury their comrade. âI wonder how many other riders and dragons are injured." Never before had Erâani felt soâŚhelpless. All he could think about where his classmates and friends. How many of them were hurt or worse? He wanted to ask Lketh to ask after them. But right now they had to get Jeth free.

Craibrother I am okay. A little bruised but okay. Mine has been hurt. She is trapped in the infirmary. A soft whine left Feyrianthâs throat as she responded to her bi-colored sibling.

X'vier rolled, lost within a dream as the first tremors came. Mine.....you might want to wake up. X'vier groaned and turned again. Another tremor shook the Weyr and X'vier started to wake up. "What's going on?" Mirazeth didn't have enough time to respond when the earthquake began to buck and roll. "Ah man....." X'vier rolled out of bed and started to walk towards one of the stronger parts of his room. Passion woke up as well, following His Slave while saying Bad bad, shake Slave stop. X'vier was all too familiar with earthquakes, having worked the Mines of Hyphen Hold for many turns. This one didn't feel bad.
Then as if to spite his thoughts the Earthquake worsened, causing stress fractures in the rock above. To the air Mirazeth! The rider's calm response to rock shaking had kept his dragon from panicking. But now.... The ground was very scary. He didn't think he'd get out in time. Getting coordinates from his rider, Mirazeth betweened from the ground to the air high above the Weyr.
X'vier clung to the wall as rock caved into the dragon part of his Weyr. The glow he kept near his dresser danced its way to his foot and he activated it so he could see. The whole cliff side is getting caved in Mine. Not many dragons are taking to the air. Mirazeth informed him from above. Passion meanwhile hid next to X'vier climbing up him once his clothes where on.
X'vier held still as the earthquake ran its course. Once it subsided he took stock of the damage. The dragon entrance was fully blocked his side had been mostly small rubble and dust. He grabbed a pair of pants and a shirt to throw on. He coughed slightly and went to his wash room. Water was draining from a crack but there was still plenty left in the pool. So he took a hand towel and got it wet, using it to cover his nose and mouth. Smoke had been rising up as well, making a cover all the more important.
Mirazeth, try to reach the other dragons, let them know any riders finding smoke coming into their room should try to cover their nose and mouth with a cloth, wet if possible. Mirazeth promptly relayed the message, trying to reach all dragons on the west canyon side. Attention, if smoke is entering Your's weyr have Your's put a cloth over their faces. Have them wet it if they can.
As Mirazeth lowered himself back towards the Weyrs he saw that most the ledges where buried, including his own. Mine, I think most of the other dragons didn't get out. I'm going over to one of the ledges on our floor and will try to clear rubble. He angled his wings down till he got close to a ledge. It happened to be Dsoleths. He could sense the smoke getting thicker on his floor, thanks to His just getting out into the hall. Smoke meant fire and that put smokey areas on his priority list.
He set his hind legs down on the ledge, grateful it held his weight. His forpaws rested on a boulder. He began to shift it back and forth. What was the dragon's name here?Dsoleth? He reached out, unsure if he had it right.I am outside your weyr ledge and will start moving rubble. He informed the dragon inside. He got enough momentum to rock the boulder off. It rolled down the cliff. There was nobody in its way as it hit the water.
Having a little more room he began brushing small stuff away in preparation to rock more boulders.
X'vier, holding the wet cloth over his face, had finally shoved his way out of his quarters and started down the hall. Smoke rolled across the ceiling and he was greatly concerned. He saw another person walking down the hall....naked? When he saw it was T'san he shook his head. "Hey T'san, you'll want one of these before the smoke gets too bad." He offered a damp cloth like the one on his face. He had wetted a few of such cloths and had them tucked into a pocket. "Though I guess it's not the only think you need." He kept up with T'san, assuming he was either going to help someone or head out.
Pretty? Protect Pretties slave. Others no. Pretties yes. His slave seemed to want to help this male meat sack. That was not good at all. X'vier didn't want the Mandyr to distract him so he said Go protect pretties Passion. In fact, check on Vellani in the candidate barracks. And be careful. Get out if its too dangerous there. Passion flared his frill and leaped away. Pretties Passion come protect! He broadcasted as he scrambled through holes a human could not.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tenloceth stirred, raising his head and looking out into the hushed night. Tremors rocked through the floor and he said dully The tremors are back again.. Of course there were tremors. They were all fated to suffer constant fear of the inevitable crumbling rocks. Why even bother?
The floor began bucking wildly, throwing Tenloceth out of his morbid lethargy. His eyes where bright in fear as he called to His The rock is falling! The rock is falling! Get out! He scrambled forward, trying to fit into the rider part of their weyr as M'ze slowly came to.
Eyes wide in terror, M'ze clung to his bed and watched as the ceiling cracked asunder. "TENLOCETH!" He screamed in voice and thought as floor and ceiling gave way. He reflexively dove for the brown dragon as he dissapeared, sinking and becoming buried. Pain swamped M'ze as he felt Tenloceth's pain. The rocks continued to fall. M'ze stumbled as he was hit in the shoulder and he fell into the collapsed floor, loosing consciousness. Neither rider or Dragon where conscious to seek help.
Kyanus the young flitter curled under the furs in fear. He was very scared and chirped fearfully. His bonded was silent. The dragon was silent.
Sky. Ground. Falling. Hurting. Wake!
Tavis swatted at the Green 'mandyr attached to his ear as he slept. Slightly stirring from his sleep just to mutter, "Hush Apima." Eyes were still closed as he tried to ignore the Green's ranting.
Sky. Ground. Falling. Hurting. Wake!
What was she going on about? He felt his bed shake, but figured it was Armind getting up to do something so he ignored it. That was, until the shaking got harder and harder. Eyes shot open and he sat up to look around. The floor was bucking and rolling in the large room - other bunks were toppling over. Reacting quickly he jumped from the bottom bunk he slept on and made his way to the wall, pressing against it hoping to avoid being hit by falling chunks of ceiling. Apima's ranting continued, though now that he was awake it had changed and she was broadcasting to everyone around them.
Sky! Floor! Death! Destruction! Hopeless!
"APIMA SHUT UP!" Tavis screamed at his Green, who promptly went silent though she clung tighter against his ear and pet his cheek. His eyes were wide as the earth stopped moving, the quake over. Bunks were toppled. People were injured though it didn't seem too bad. He heard the call come from Elisabeta's Green and he headed for the Common Room - screw helping anyone else, and screw the Weyr. He didn't care if Elisabeta sic'd her Green after him - he was OUT of here as soon as he could be.
Dodging rubble he passed Casiloy in the hallway, "Going the wrong way." He muttered to the other boy, but he didn't stop. Finally in the Common Room he saw Casandra under the table. Ducking down he looked at her, "It stopped shaking."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Serring was a heavy sleeper, but even he jolted awake as he felt the bunk begin to sway. Being on the top bunk he could feel it swaying drastically. The bunks on either side of his toppled over, both somehow missed his. Climbing down with his pants in hand he grabbed hold of the bunk to keep it from toppling - or at least try to keep it from toppling over. As quickly as the quake started, it was over. He was successful it keeping his bunk upright - which was good for August, since the other Candidate seemed intent to sleep through everything.
Shaking him he yelled out, "What the hell is wrong with you? Wake up!"
Stepping back he pulled his pants on then moved in to lean over August to check his head - maybe he had been injured and that's why he was sleeping still.
----------------------------------------------
Ivy had been awake even before the quake hit - Eros was responsible for that. Usually he let her sleep but tonight he started hopping on top of her. Up and down, screeching and biting at her until finally the redhead's blue eyes fluttered open. Glaring at the firelizard she opened her mouth to tell him off - and that's when all hell broke out.
The ground shook. It pitched. It rolled.
She fell off her bunk just before it pitched over and fell. Barely missing her as it toppled around her, splintering. Eyes widened as she looked to see if her bunk mate was alright - but she quickly realized the blonde wasn't there. Standing she looked around while Eros nervously flitted around her head. She heard the Green's call for them and after helping another girl up from the ground she nodded to the hall, "Come on, Elisabeta wants us in the common room."
Heading down the hall she heard her name bellowed. Freezing she looked behind her then forward - just in time to see Cainith pushing his way past others through the common room towards her. "I'm okay! I'm alright!"
In fact she had some cuts and bruises, that she hadn't noticed yet. Walking again she was so intent on watching the larger man she didn't see the rubble in her path and tripped. Ankle twisted and an audible 'pop' sounded out just before she did, crying in pain as she hit the ground. Well... she had been okay...
Bronzeriders with secrets don't sleep. As such, Mi'rah was already awake, crouched over a desk writing away when he noticed that his handwriting had a sudden... waviness to it. Had he been tired enough to have a tremble in his hands? More importantly had he gotten that old as to have such involuntary jitters? Looking down he noticed that the table began to shake as well, and that is when it had dawned on him that the very world on which they stood was crumbling all around them. Cue a full grown man ducking under the table as great slabs of stone fell around him, one such spear like shard impaling the very chair which he sat in moments before. But then, just as quickly as it had began, it was over, and Mi'rah was poking his head out to survey the damage, an admittedly hard task until he scooped up the glows for some light.
His room was hard to recognize. The ceiling fell in smashing his bed, while the floor seemed to be missing here and there, mostly following along the rift that split his weyr in half. It was from this gap that he noticed the smoke rise up, curling in slowly but surely. Luckily, the passage to Kierjaarth's couch was open, at least partially, and instinctively the man moved to meet his bonded and feel security in even the briefest of touches. The bronze did need to be calmed after all, he was being rather prickly for a creature who has managed to make it out relatively unharmed, Well this is just /great/. Do you see my snout? A rock landed on my snout, I certainly have a scratch... what about you? You had me worried I wasn't sure you'd fit through that little door... In the midst of a natural disaster the bronze still had to fit in a jab at his rider.
"Not now Kier..." the man drawled out, eying the still open air available to them and trying his best not to gag on the smoke filling up his lungs. The rider was not a geologist no, but he was a big enough nerd to know that they weren't out of the woods yet and that at any moment ground could begin to lurch and shift yet again. First things first... they needed to get out, and without the privilege of straps or the comfort of a riding jacket, the man boarded the dragon as he launched off the stump that used to be his ledge, Get up high too, we need to survey the area...and bring some order...
Taking command was not typically something attributed to Mi'rah, but organization was... Kierjaarth's pull would have to make up for the man's less than compelling voice. As the rider scanned the ledges and took count of those that made it out, the bronze began reigning the thoughts into structured words, Dragons who've escaped, report to me if you've no comrades to assist. Those already at work, keep your wits about you... the ground is bound to shake again and you are no good if you get pinned while freeing another. The dragon spun around on a wing tip past the fourth floor ledges again having expected commands from Millieth, but his voice still remained the lone one of authority.
Those stuck inside stay calm. Panic will get you nowhere, and we are all working to set you free, but keep in mind it will take some time. Follow Mirazeth's words and cover your face, also prepare and ready yourself for more quakes... and do not light any flames... The dragon hated being so painfully obvious, but some things needed to be said, especially the bit about lighting any torches... it was obvious from the smoke alone there was already fire, and with the chemicals that could be found around the weyr - flamethrower fluid came to mind, not mention the pockets of natural gas the tremors could break open - even a spark could worsen their problems.
