Guru's frill flattened against his neck as the gold decided to slash Zellos – for his rudeness? because she didn't like him? because it amused her? – he couldn't decide. Eyes, lightly tinged with purple, watched as the gold sailed to another table. Guru remained where he was as he debated whether or not he wanted to continue. And w-what was that about having permission to mark Zellos as well? Guru licked at one of his claws as if considering her offer. Buuuut, no. That was just unnecessary. A good insult or two would have worked just as nicely or even better than claws..
With a casual rolling flick of his tail Guru looked around at the other suitors that began to peel off after the peculiar gold. What a band of absolute misf—what the shards was that fire lizard doing? Frill flaring and folding in repeated confusion, Guru really tried – for a few seconds – to make sense of Mojo's actions.
Crazy. He stated, unable to make frill or tail of the bizzare entourage that Dementia had collected (Was he the only normal one here?). Almost reluctantly, Guru rose back to his feet, giving a wide birth around the other crazy one, Devil.
Ugh. Did they all have to glide like that? Geez, even the rolypoly brown was in the air. How was that even possible? Guru didn't give into the urge to spread his own diminutive wings, but simply slipped off the edge of the table – hopping off the bench and landing on the ground to sprint around the feet of the crowded Hall. When he lost sight of the pretty gold Guru clambered up the nearest walking leg and perched meerkat style on their shoulder.
Was she going to just go in circles about the Hall? Baaah. Baaaaaaah. He couldn't be bothered to simper after her wingsails and crooning adoration at her. He was much, much too lazy. Crazy fools. Fit right in with flitter-flat and flitter-crawl. Most crazy be most worthy.

Brilliant sun surveyed her chasers, watching their antics as she found the head of one of the people who hadn't yet realized that it might be a good idea to clear out with a bunch of salamandyr owners mid-run occupying the room. Her bronzes she had far higher expectations of, and when two proved far too slow to respond to her sudden head hopping, she brushed against their minds briskly. Neither would do. Leaving Mojo and Zexion to wallow in the knowledge that they were failures, she bounded swiftly for the windowsill. Looking over her shoulder, her flared frill burst wide in a flash of color as the light refracted, wings forced to sweep out to keep her from overbalancing, and her tail flicked enticingly.
What did that leave her with, then? One of the uglies, a bronze who had not yet completely earned her disdain, two browns and a blue. Better. These ones would be granted the privelege to chase. Dementia dropped from the windowsill, spreading her wings and gliding over the railing before plunging straight for the river with giddy glee. Come and get her! Although they'd best get Theirs here. She'd choose none who didn't worship Hers as much as they did Dementia herself.
Eyes flashed to movement in the doorway, a coquettish smirk disappearing behind a head toss. He brushed his hand lightly along the jawline of the brown stalking him, then used his shoulder as a step to vault onto the next table, placing him directly in front of Maya. The boy looked her over for a moment, then extended a foot, planting it square between her breasts and pushing her back onto the table behind her. He hopped over onto that table, one foot on either side of her head, waved down at her. "Too slow, handsome. Better luck next time," he purred, fingers curling into his palm.
The cattish smile turned on his blue, snatching the silken scarf from his waist with an almost violent motion. He coiled it around Eikane's neck and shoulders, tugging just enough to tease. "Gotcha. Come." Foot clicked against the table, making it clear he meant up, before he released the scarf and spun on a heel, beckoning his brown over as well. "Hurry, handsome. A queen never waits." Hip cocked, the pants slipped lower on his hips without the scarf to hold them up, a thumb hooking into them as he tugged the topknot out of his hair and let it fall unfettered.

Nocturne skittered away from the two legged who seemed to take offense at being landed on and followed Dementia's path towards the window. There was no sign that he'd been dismissed so he had every intention of continuing his chase. The blue wasn't one to simply leave a task unfinished - if he attacked someone he'd keep at until he scarred, if he chased he'd continue until he couldn't. He jumped from the closest table to the window and hooked his claws into the wall. He then made his way up and out.
The land was better. No food or people to avoid and no large gaps in the way. He scampered fown the outside of the wall until he was close enough to jump down without consequence. He picked up speed along the unbroken ground, keeping pace just behind the gold easily enough for the moment. Blues and greens were masters of speed but not so much endurance. If she didn't pick him soon he'd be hard pressed to impress her. Not that it really mattered in the end but the idea of losing to the idiots didn't appeal to him.
Why was he coming closer? Control was easier with distance, Eikane had already noticed and - did he just step on that bronze fool? Served them right for being so pathetic - wait, what? No that wasn't him! That was his blue. Eikane got so lost in his own confusion over who he was and who he wasn't that he hadn't noticed how close Dmitri got until he was right in front of him. For a moment he just stared enthralled up at the boy as the scarf was wrapped around his neck. When it was tugged he numbly joined Dmitri on the table.
Oh great, now he was part of the spectacle..and dear Faranth! Dmitri's pants! Eikane took the scarf off hastily and stepped right up behind the gold. He watched as the hair fell past the other harper's waist before he brushed the strands out of the way. All he had to do was put the makeshift belt back on. It was harder than it seemed. He put both hands on Dmitri's hips, scarf stretched between both hands, and froze. What was he doing again?

Not chasing. Nope. Not him.
.. Guru abandoned his shoulder perched to curl claws into another moving human making their way out of the Hall. It brought him closer to that window that – oh bother. The bronze salamandyr dropped down, only to scamper right back up the stone to stand on the sill and look out where the crazy gold had gone. Really, really? Maybe she realize how pathetic her suitors were (him not included, he wasn't chasing her anymore!). Yes, Guru tail coiled over the wood, as he quietly quipped to himself. She must have realize he was no longer interested and threw herself over the rail to drown herself..
Oh, and there went the blue – did he even look before he leaped?
There was no way that Guru could follow. Although, he was curious to see who she'd pick – you know, crazies deserved each other. Crouching lower (as his short legs always gave off the impression of him being ready to pounce), Guru eyed the last flyer that was involved in the chase; Lao. Yes, come here big bronze wingy... it would have to come out the window too... and Guru planned to leap on the fire lizard and be further escorted through the chase.
What? He thought it was clever and he still got to be lazy. Win-win.
Halfway to the Main Hall Quintrell had come awake. Guru was on teetering between fully chasing the gold to just.. watching, that the bond between them wavered enough for the young thief to be conscious of his actions. None the wiser to the situation, or feelings tugging at his core (he was a rather hormonal teenage. Random feelings of desire? Nothing new there), Quintrell absently rubbed his eyes and wandered the rest of the way to the Hall. Clearly he must have been sleep walking and hungry..
Bumping shoulders with a leaving patron, Quintrell growled audible but as he gathered his footing he froze. His gaze flicked over Eikane and Dmitri – faces he knew and recognized – but what they stopped on was Yoalla. A very naked Yoalla. Quintrell let the smile slip over his features as he let himself take in the view.
Geez, everyone was in some sort of state of undress (he himself only in a pair of shorts he had fallen asleep in) was there some sort of bizarre wherhandler party going on he wasn't aware of?

Jiggles flapped his large wings once to get some altitude as he watched the progress of the small sun. Finally she stopped for a moment and in response the large brown closed his wings and dropped like a stone. Straight into someone’s plate of mashed tubers. It made for a spectacular landing.
A splat sounded as the mashed vegetable flew in all directions. Not in the least bit detoured the brown pulled himself from the mire and scampered over the table, purposely knocking over goblets and such. Finally he parked himself on the edge of the table nearest the window sill and shook himself from head to toe in an attempt to remove all traces of the food from his hide. He had just about finished when the gold flung herself from the sill. Oh bother. Is coming! He called to Dementia as he frantically licked the last traces of food from his hide. Bleck nasty.
Finished with his grooming he flung himself to the windowsill and scampered over it to peer at the dropping sun. Oh he could do that! Leaping he spread his wings as far as they could go and effortlessly cleared the railing before angling them to drop after her. This is where his weight would come in handy. He could do very nice falls. The problem was he had a harder time stopping his downward momentum.
Mavenath hissed, his eyes whirling as he caught sight of the small creatures dropping towards the river. Lashing his tail before coiling it tighter about himself and so his bonded, he growled low in his throat. I do not think I like the Jiggles anymore. It seeks to take you from me. Flinching away from his mandyr Cr’oph scratched at Mavenath’s ridge in an attempt to calm the bronze. “It’s ok Mave. He can’t take me from you.” The bronze rumbled at the words. You are right, for I will not let him. You are mine first.
The weyrling nodded at his dragon, not trusting himself to speak. It was taking almost all of his concentration to fight off Jiggles. Thankfully the bronze was helping. Still the urge to chase and find her was nearly overwhelming. Stupid mandyr.

The Devil turned proudly to see if Dementia had noticed how well she’d chased away the unworthy one. Ha! Yes Devil was so very fearsome that unworthy needed his pet to protect him from the green’s wrath. However it didn’t seem the gold had noticed how faithful a servant The Devil was, if she wanted to claim favour from her queen she’d have to catch up quickly!
Folding her frill back down flat the green positively sprinted to the edge of the table, bounded onto the head of a rapidly retreating drudge, sprang into air as if the drudge’s hair was on fire, and flared her wings out so she could glide to the window. The Devil is coming! Lucky Devil. Unworthy off. The green reported as she hurled herself from the sill, blissfully unaware of what might lie below, if Dementia was going The Devil was going, and never mind looking before she leapt.
Yoalla bounded lightly over a fallen chair and trotted faithfully up to Dmitri’s table, smiling simperingly up at the beautiful harper in a manner she’d usually rather have drunk the contents of a chamber pot than used, especially directed toward Dmitri. ‘Here queenlove. I’m here, wasn’t I scary?’ She murmured with nothing short of actual adoration in her voice as she pranced alongside the table. Apparently The Devil had the greater influence on Yoalla.
Lao trilled a few notes, encouraging the gold to run further and faster, yes she was surely the best of the mean golds, she should show it proudly, show even greens like lao how it was done. Taking note of the tail flick the bronzegreen firelizard made a note to use that gesture when he Rose (eventually, it was taking a very long time).
The gold leapt through the window, and almost all of the salamandyrs went with her, although the last of her bronzes appeared to want to stay behind. That was a shame, bronzes clearly weren’t as good as he thought. Shiny but nothing else. Well he’d better follow Dementia, the confused bronze flitter decided and darted out the window, hovering for a moment to see where the queen had gone. Ah! There! Lao dropped slowly down, still singing an encouraging little song to the gold.

"Handsome," he murmured, a flicker of approval passing over his face at the appearance of his bronze. Finally. Pressing back against the hands on his hips, he rubbed himself unabashedly against his blue, reaching up to cup his cheek, but his eyes were on Yoalla. He'd told her to leave, hadn't he? Sort of...part of her. A brief flicker of confusion lingered behind his eyes, but then he smiled, extending a hand down to pull her up with him. "Good," he purred. Brushing the back of his knuckles against her cheek, he cocked a brow at Quintrell, hip angling to one side and a shoulder dipping in invitation. "Want off, mmm?" A smirk flashed in Eikane's direction, the pants dropping with next to no encouragement, and he bent at the waist, sliding off his boots and stepping out of the pants, kicking them off the table.
Catching a clothesline, it dipped beneath her weight then sprung up, Dementia clinging to it before scampering down the line, her wings half-spread for balance. Boing, boing. Jumping on it just enough to make it thrum with tension (and difficult to stay on for any behind her) she dove down a pair of shorts, dropping to the ground below. The gold wound around and through the giant roots at the base of the tree, before shooting straight up the side, pattering down the length of a thick branch entirely upside down, then releasing...
Naked as his minion, he swayed slightly, causing the golden hair to swirl around him. Time to choose, yes. These he liked; they were known. The browns entirely forgotten, he grasped Eikane by the hair, pressing up against him and tugging his head back to explore his mouth thoroughly. "You might do," came the quiet whisper against his ear, as the boy extracted the scarf delicately from his blue's hands, "Later." Turning, the scarf drew around her shoulders, and he didn't actually touch her as he pulled her against him. The scarf fluttered to the table, his hands coming up on either side of her jaw. He kissed her lingeringly, before sweeping her up in his arms, looking like he might drop her but - surprisingly - managing long enough to step down from the table. "Good devil servant."
Good devil servant, Dementia echoed as she fell. Devil slave ugly catch, she told Lao imperiously, using her large wings to buoy her. There must be a clutch. She wasn't chosing the ugly, of course...he was owned by the Devil. Her minion she favored. The gold would choose her lifelong mate some other time; no sense rushing into things.

Yoalla’s eyes flicked jealously to the bronze as her queen acknowledged him. He was late (and never mind that Yoalla had arrived bare moments before Quintrell)! He didn’t show enough respect, couldn’t even be bothered to chase properly. Another unworthy! Looking up at Dmitri to see if she was allowed to scare this one as well she caught sight of the blue touching him, however before she could even form a glare she forgot Eikane entirely as her queen reached down for her. ‘Lovely Dementia.’ She breathed, hopping up onto the table with the gold’s assistance and leaning unashamed into the brief touch she was offered.
Lao dropped like a stone until he reached the gold salamandyr’s level, then flared out his wings, and grabbed the clothesline she was running along, sending his body whipping around it before he let go. He still didn’t quite understand what was going on, but let it never be said that discouraged him. The bronze still sang his little song, faster and faster now Dementia was challenging her chasers, as he wove his way around the line and garments. None of the others sang as well as him, and sadly, none of the little ones could even fly, Dementia would have to choose him if she wanted proper winged babies.
The Devil hissed at the other chasers as she dropped, reserving a flare of her frill for Nocturne, and grabbed hold of a shirt hanging from the clothesline. The garments jiggled and wavered on the line as Dementia ran along the top but Devil didn’t let that stop her, pretty queen, lovely queen, clever queen, must catch. The ambitious green flung herself from garment to garment under Dementia, faithfully following her queen. Off she went, and off went The Devil, falling, bouncing up, and racing up and around the tree. Oh she was getting tired now but she couldn’t leave her gold alone with such unworthy chasers.
Yoalla gave the nude harper a lingering look up and down then smiled and nodded. Yes, he was the most beautiful queen, and he looked so much better without those bits of cloth covering up his pretty hide. She reached out a hand and let the golden wave of hair brush against her very fingertips, shivering, such an amazing gold her Dementia was. Abruptly the queen turned and something wrapped around Yoalla’s shoulders and pulled her closer to the gold. She reacted predictably; taking the contact as permission to touch, and pressing against Dmitri, stretching up to meet the much taller harper’s mouth. Yes, she was a good servant, she agreed smugly as she was lifted and shifted her weight to make things easier on her queen. ‘Best queen, lucky servant. Worthy slave.’ She murmured. softly
The Devil preened briefly and hopped off the top of the branch Dementia had clung to. Her queen. Therefore she was going with Lao to make sure her ugly stupid slave actually caught Dementia. She landed nimbly on the bronze firelizard’s back as he obeyed the command to catch Dementia. Her gold, The Devil added her tail around the twined metallic tails even though her part in the chase was over. Lao was her slave, so if he won, Devil won.
Ah, enlightenment dawned on Lao as he felt a second tail twine around his. It took two greens to win one gold. Salamandyrs were really very strange.
