Name: Xaina (Zain-rah)
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate
Physical Appearance: Xaina's is around 5'5", she is short some may say, but that does not dampen her high spirits. She has a strong form, and holds herself up proudly. She has friendly dark blue eyes with bits of purple splattered in the center, as if the Masterpainter had made a mistake, they can have an amazing range of piercing glances. She has slightly tanned skin of one who lived on the Southern Continent, and worked outdoors. She has dark brown hair but light enough to see a hint of red hue mixed in.
Personality: Xaina never keeps a mood, it always changes from one to the other. One moment she can be happy, and kind, and without a moments notice she's snappy as a grumpy old turtle. However, she is almost always a kind, and peaceful person- at times, mind you. Xaina is also a wise mouth, correcting people- this always come in handy to her in arguments. She almost never tells lies, she never liked to hurt another's feelings.
If there is a problem of some sort, she's the right person to go to- She always seems to have an answer to every problem, situation, or argument. Xaina is one you don't want to get mad with, in other words she'll never give up in a battle of some sort. Xaina does have a soft spot for flits and animals, and almost always makes friends with who ever has one. But she can be very playful at times.
History: Xaina has never really fit in with the other girls her age, because she was always with animals and liked to play random instruments. Most of the others liked to help in the kitchens and were loyal to the women of the Hold. She never fit in that kind of group, so she hanged around with the boys. She'd help with the fishing and sailing- and in her spare time practice on her flute. She loved to rome the rocky sea shores, and explore their secrets that they hid in the sands and caves.
Some could call her Holdless, but there were some people who'd let her stay for a night or two before she found another home to stay in for a while. When kids saw her, they respected her. The reason being was because they didn't know what it was like to have no family, and have no idea if there were other blood relatives that even cared about her. She was called Xaina by the kids, but adults would always call her by her birth name, Rose. The reason why the children chose that name for her is unknown, but she kept it.
However, she did not get to enjoy her life along the sea shores of the South for a long time. One day a Harper at the Hold noticed Xaina's talents for music, while she was playing in the streets and saw how much she loved to play the flute. Xaina was then taken to the Harper Hall to become an Apprentice.
Then a few months later she was searched, and brought to the Weyr. Xaina wasn't as excited as others would be if they were chosen. In her heart she new it was silly to have too much hope in Impressing a dragon. For all she knew, the time might never come to her to Impress one of the dragons that scorched Thread from the skies.
Xaina never knew her real parents because at the age of three they were both murdered by raiders while traveling to a new Hold.
