Humans:
Name: Mallery (Mal)
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Greenrider
Physical Appearance: Mallery is considered pretty, but not particularly lovely. She has curly blond locks that fall a little past her shoulders, although few see their actual length because she puts the locks in a loose bun, out of her way for when she is riding, as she doesn’t like hair blowing in her face. The woman has small green eyes, with a hint of brown in them to even the tone of her skin, which seems to be unable to tan. It is not entirely pale, but too much for her own liking.
With a small, freckled nose that looks almost childish, it helps balance out her large ears, which almost bend to make themselves more noticeable. When Mallery does wear her hair down, you can see their tips, as if they are trying to break through the layer that is hiding them. She has small hands and feet, and long lashes to frame her small eyes.
Her eyebrows are delicately curved, and her small, red mouth is more often than not curved into a smile. Her figure has curves, but not enough- or at least they aren't large enough- to attract much attention. Her arms and legs are a bit muscular from her riding profession, but not too noticeably.
Personality: Although she is pretty, Mallery attracts most men by her “charming personality”. She is sweet and delicate, but not very flirtatious, even when she allows someone to become close.
Not one to fight, Mallery depends on persuasion rather than flinging a knife around when it comes to settling fights. Considering she had to settle disputes regularly between her four siblings - even if none of them knew how to wield a knife, much less use it against their own kin.
Mallery makes most of her friends through her more open green. She doesn't let people become close to her quickly, and tends to hide in the Records Room. for it takes her a while to let people close, and before that happens, she is one to hide in the Records Room. However, she can be lovable and humorous, laughing at everything – including herself.
Mallery very rarely gets mad, but when she does, it is over something very serious. Afterwards, she calms down easily and laughs at herself for making such a scene, although on the worst occasions she can hold an awful grudge until it is finally resolved.
History: Mallery lived a very simple life at the Glass Hall learning to make a number of things, although never aspiring to take it as a profession. In fact, she didn't know what she wanted to become. She just wandered around the Halls, going from place to place, never taking interest in an occupation or sexual activity.
During an accident, one day, the mere eight-turn-old lost two of her sisters to a fire. Distraught for many turns, the girl grew slowly, even more sheltered than before. She was still working glass, although she knew that she never wanted to become a Journeyman for the craft, and Mal kept her eyes open for another profession.
Finally, after many Turns of uncertainty, a Search came through. Mallery was chosen right away, told that she definitely had a certain…quality about her. The 18 Turn girl agreed, but she still wasn't sure if she wanted to be a rider.
She was beginning to get antsy, as there was only a green, a brown and a blue on the Sands, and there were four candidates left on the Sands. The two males were interested in their own gender, as the green was. However, the bright green dragonet finally turned on heel, coming towards Mallery. She was indecisive for a few moments, then came to the 18 Turn old Mallery, saying that her name was Meriath.
The girl finally knew what she wanted to be, what she wanted to do – and about time, too, as her dragon commented whenever the girl had brought it up. With her dragon by her side, she could do anything. A weyrmate never caught her eye, as she had never found one that she could love. And neither did the green, even after Weyrling Hood. So, they only had many friends, most of them being female.
And they were waiting, just waiting, to be swept off their feet...which they were, of course.
By E'ri of blue Bazeth. They quickly became weyrmated...and Mal quickly became pregnant. Yes, yes, and they actually decided to keep the little thing! Well, things, because although they aren't aware of it, even four months along, Mal is pregnant with twins.
Dragons/Whers/Fire Lizards:
Name: Meriath
Color: Green
Age: 7
Physical Appearance: An acidic green, indeed, Meriath is practically blinding when she begins to shine. The only spot of peace in her hide is a large splotch on her left side, colored in a dark forest green, that lighted and brightened around the edges to blend with it’s usual shade.
Her tail is a bit long, but her length is short, and legs are normally-sized. Fully grown, there are no more hopes from her own mind that she will spurt up, an uncomfortable spot with her. Overall, however, Meriath is quite content with her own appearance, and loves to flaunt her beauty at any chance.
Personality: Meriath can tend to be a bit impulsive, taking something into her mind and going for it. She doesn’t see why you would think before acting or speaking, and doesn’t practice it. This can easily get her into a bit of trouble…but really, the green doesn’t care. She loves to be daring, and will throw caution to the wind in an instant, especially if she thinks something is wrong.
Not a big fan of those higher ranked than her, Meriath doesn’t quite like golds, nor any bronzes, believing the males to ‘stoop to a green’s level during flight’. Ah, no, she certainly doesn’t care for either colors, although she adores blues and browns.
Dragons/Whers/Fire Lizards:
Name: Sapphiren
Color: Blue
Age: A couple months, a turn
Physical Appearance: An average-sized blue, Sapphiren's wings a slightly small for his body, but it could just be that they have yet to finish growing. The rest of his body, however, is fairly proportioned, and when in the air, it isn't really a noticeable fault. His tail loves to twine about anything and everything, including Mal's neck and arms, and will perch on anyone in his bonded's company.
A darker cerulean coloring, Sapphiren is a military shade, with no splotches or dots blemishing his hide...besides the very edges of his wingtips, which are the slightest shade darker. This makes his hide look more defined, almost, with the slight change in color. His hide is always oiled, of that he is sure of, but really, there is nothing particularly remarkable about his hide.
Personality: A very sweet blue, Sapphiren is one to always voice his opinions. These are usually chirps of encouragement and eagerness, or croons of pity or love. And, being a very friendly creature, it doesn't take long for this blue to get comfortable enough to perch on someone's shoulder and begin to croon. In fact, it isn't too odd for him to simply go and wrap his tail around someone whom His is simply conversing with, as long as he feels safe.
Definitely a mommie's boy, Sapphiren rarely leaves Mal's sight, unless he's with E'ri. In that case, the blue feeds off of his bonded's feelings, and simply treats the bluerider as he would Mal, spare the emotions that the greenrider is so often bombarded by. As stated before, he is a particularly emotional blue.
