Killed in the Siege of Selenitas
Name: Virion
Age: 18.5
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Candidate
Physical Appearance:
Virion stands at 5'10". He is fairly skinny; his arms themselves are hardly toned. His hands almost creepily bony and flexible. His body itself is, yet again, not very well muscled, but it lacks much hindering fat. His skin is a softly tanned with a reddish undertone. His hair is short, more often than not, messy, and a dark blonde, almost brown. His face is long and defined, his nose long and ending with a soft point. His eyes are dark blue, grey at times. His lips have a fine volume to them, but are almost always cracked and dry. His legs, unlike his upper body, hold some muscle, but are shorter, limiting his running speed.
Personality:
Virion is typically laid back and careless. He tries not to worry about things, and likes to live without stress. Deadlines mean little to him, if gets something done, he does, if he doesn't, he doesn't. He won’t do a whole lot without motivation; he doesn't feel any need to.
He has a rather sly side to him. Though he may act weird at times, he is really trying to find something out. And that’s where unexplained weirdness comes in. He can be weird, even creepy at times, but also seem cute at the same time. (Imagine a full-grown man singing the Pokemon theme song in public)
He really dislikes creatures of the sea, and is scared witless by dolphins. He is also uncomfortable around large creatures, but is slightly becoming easy around dragon and kin.
He has a bit of sensibility to him. Sure, he may try the most easy way to get out of things, but if that fails, he will think about it for a whee bit, then pull of a plan. if that fails. He'll try again, or find someone else to help or fix the problem themselves.
When in conflict with another human, he will rarely resort to a violent solution. He will question their intent, and try to fix the problem without complications and having them meet on even grounds. If the other insists on violence, he'll either laugh and flee, or flee. Being marked a coward is better than being punished for violence.
History:
Virion grew up within Blossom Hold. Vitack, his father, was a Sr. Journeymen Dolphineer, along with his older brother Virik, who was an apprentice under his father.
At 4 turns old, his father believed Virion would too become a dolphineer, like his brother. He showed him the dolphins, and like any child upon meeting a friendly new creature, was interested. His father was keeping watch on Virion, making sure he didn't get too near the dolphins, he was much too young. But an urgent cry from Virik for assistance alarmed Vitack, a dolphin was giving birth and was having difficulties. Giving Virik charge of Virion, he rushed to help.
Virik was sure that Virion could touch the dolphins, and let him, but still kept an eye on him. But as Virik grew bored, Virion became ore and more embracing to the dolphins. Virion tried to leap upon one of the creatures, who was unsuspecting, and startled it. Virion slammed against the dolphin's torso, and was swatted by a fin. To make matters worse, Virion was currently a poor swimmer. Virik had rescued Virion from drowning, but nothing could mend his newfound fear for creatures of the sea.
His Mother, Arion, was a journeyman weaver herself. After Tirion's incident, she tried to teach Virion how to weave, so he would have a future in a family craft. He wasn't very interested in weaving, but wasn't horrible at it. His mother was proud of him at the start, but he began showing less and less interest, and then eventually stopped weaving altogether. He needed to find a craft he'd be able to work in, but found little motivation in any.
He wasn't very interested in the Weyrs, he didn't want anything to do with what was going on with them, and was slightly afraid of creatures larger than him. He didn't hate the dragons as he did dolphins, but he didn't like the thought of them so close.
As he aged, he began making money himself by doing simple chores that required little effort. He didn't find much joy, but it meant extra marks for him and his family.
As he was picking weeds in a crop, a great shadow flew over top of him. At first he thought the worse. The dragon and its rider landed near him, beckoning him over. His impression suddenly changed. He was hesitant to approach the dragon, a larger brown, but he knew what was happening. It was time to do something with his life, actually be useful. He gave a short note to the owner of the crop to give to his parents, and soon was off to Selenitas Weyr...
