R’aro poked disconsolately at the contents of a pot with a long handled wooden spoon. There was no real need for this as the pot was cold and in any case the entire content of the pot thus far was about a barrel load of preserved fish that was earmarked to spend its further existence as fish stew.
The real problem with the fish, R;aro reflected as he prodded it was that it was going to: A, need quite a lot of cooking to make it edible and B, need huge amounts of vegetable in with it because it didn’t fill up much of the pot. This led him to conclusion C: he was going to spend quite a bit of time chopping vegetables before he could escape. With a sigh for lost time he hooked the spoon over the side of the pot and set to in the war against vegetables, the sooner it was done the sooner he was gone.
