He would only take one bronze, he told himself. They weren't going to rob Selenitas of too many younglings. Shmee would understand taking a few, though. They needed new blood among High Reaches riders, and Selenitas blood could do very nicely. Knocking on the first door, the man looked into the room. Bronzeweyrlings! Perfect. Waving cheerfully at the boys inside- C'lryn and K'ran- he sauntered in. "Hey, I'm T'rian, rider of brown Lomith. I was wondering if either of you two would mind help start a new Weyr with us?" He smiled calmly. "There was some awful things that happened at Fort, so our Weyrwoman, Elaira, decided to move into the old High Reaches Weyr. We're very peaceful, and we have a clutch on the sands. Don't worry, Shmee's letting either of you come." All right, so that was little white lie, but she would, he was sure. "I can only take one of you, though-- I wouldn't want to rob Selenitas of all their fine bronzes." He chuckled.
"There'd be a lot of benefits. For example, being bronzers, I'm sure you could climb the ranks quickly. You're young, strong, and smart. You'd fit in well. Best part is, nowhere else knows about us. Fort and Benden don't know where we went, so there won't be any surprise attacks from them. No wars, no nothing. Just the simple life of dragonriders, flying Thread, living the simple life. We're going to make holds that look to us soon, too. It'll be perfect. Think of the possibilities." If they declined, he supposed it wouldn't be bad. He would just ask other weyrlings. He was certain that some would want to come! They had just come from Southern Hold, and the younglings had jumped at the chance to be candidates. It should be even more of an exciting prospect for these weyrlings! They had seen how terrible war was, and given the chance to escape it, they would undoubtedly leap at the chance. He half-expected to need to turn some down so they could stay at Selenitas.
After their room, he moved onto other rooms. After recruiting an enthusiastic brownweyrling named S'may, he moved to Sk'ler and T'kal's room, repeating the same thing as he had told to the first two rooms. Telling his dragon to get a couple bronzes from High Reaches to start the pickup of weyrlings, he slowly made his way down the line, stopping at each door and saying the same thing to each pair of roommates. High Reaches was going to flourish!

"Whats going on?" Sticking her head out of the archway into her room, Saraina quietly listened to the talking going on. Growling slightly, the Bluerider made her way through the clutter on her side of the room. Digging carefully through a pile of clothes, Sara dragged a blue firelizard from the mess by his tail before dropping him into her hand. "Zor. Go to F'rah in his office... Tell him that there is a man recruiting people." Showing the flitter pictures of the man, the Weyrling watched as Zor disappeared into the 'between' to carry the message to her guardian. Some of the others might be to eager to trust, but she herself was not, for all they knew it could be another Benden trick. Even if it was slightly idiotic to do in plan daylight, with the whole weyr uneasy... Slinking her way out past Beka, Saraina leaned against the entrance way, waiting for the man to reach their room.
/Mine, what is it?/ There is someone out here trying to convince us to go with them to a new Weyr. Within a moment, Hokth had stuck his head out the doorway with a growl, smacking his tail softly against the ground in agitation. /Idiots. All of them... we don't even know if Aslath's has said yes. Let alone if its a trick like the others.../
---
Pausing in her all important battle with Dasmonth, Gina silenced her haughty green with a quick gesture, there was talking out in the hallway. Sliding her way to the entrance to her room, the junior weyrling peeked out into the barrack's hallway before skirting over to her friend's room. Surprised to see her already outside, Gina tugged on Saraina's arm slightly to get her attention. "What's going on?"
"There's a man here trying to recruit people for a new weyr. I have no idea if he's the real deal or not... Say no if he asks you. I've sent Zor to get F'rah, hopefully we can get some proof."
Standing in silence to watch the man flutter from room to room, the Greenweyrling touched her friend's wrist, happy to find she had her knife... just in case. "Of course I'll say no. I don't want to leave my cousins... or Selenitas." /Mine? Why did you leave?/ I left because there is something going on. Stay inside alright? /Are you in danger. Cause if you are I'll eat whoever is--/ No I'm fine. Just say inside... Hokth is out here if I need protection.
--
Although he himself had heard nothing of the noise in the hallway outside of his office, F'rah was surprised when a blue flitter appeared out of nowhere. Trying to calm down the screechy male, the Weyrlingmaster was able to catch and stroke the Firelizard. /Mine! The little one is Saraina's Zor... he says there is a strange man in the Barracks. He's doing something... Zor doesn't remember what though./ Watching as a flash of pictures entered his head, F'rah stood up with out any hesitation, if there was a stranger in the barracks he would have to talk to him. /... Recruiting! Zor remembered... he's recruiting your Juniors for a new weyr./ No news from Shmee meant a possible ploy from Benden, and at the moment, the Weyrlingmaster was not going to stand someone taking away his weyrling. He had already lost enough because of the murders, he wasn't about to let the others go so gracefully. "Zor. Bring this message to Shmee." Ripping off the piece of parchment he had written on, F'rah gave it to the Blue firelizard before leaving the room.
Wrenching the door open, the Weyrlingmaster marched his way down the hall and toward the man warily, he had no idea what the brownrider's true intent was.

I don't like this... Thoth's soft voice woke Beka from her doze as quickly as the male voice did, jerking up right and waking both flitts in the process. Both green and brown chattered loudly, Pita screeching as loudly as he could until Beka clamped a hand over his muzzle. Sharding flitt, why had she gotten him? Anyone with eyes knew it wasn't because of Beka Anai was so well trained, now she had a flitt that was worse than Anai. "Shut up, both of you!" She snarled, pushing off the furs and shivering as she touched her feet to the ground.
"Saraina, what's going on?" She spoke softly to her room mate, uncertain about speaking to someone that she shared her room with, no matter what anyone said, she'd have rathered been stuck with K'lir, she liked K'lir, he was her friend. She barely knew Saraina. She was tired, but the idea that there were older men in the barracks had her wanting to go back and curl up with Thoth, if she was honest, she was terrified. "I heard a man..." One she didn't recongise, which made them bad, scary and terrifying all in the one package. Swallowing hard, she stroked Pita gently, who was strangely quiet, picking up on his minethings fear. Beka couldn't stand it, pressing a kiss to Pita,n she slipped past Saraina and Gina, she wanted to find K'lir, maybe the weyrling master would know. Looking back at the sound of his footsteps, Beka effectively walked into the strange man, biting down on a scream as she clutched Anai to her.
~*~
Glancing up as her roommate left, a small frown touched Rielana's face, getting up to first check on Fiel, who was curled up on Jeminorth's back, and then her dragon, who was dozing off, they were both fine, so... What was going on. Where was everyone going. Leaning down to kiss Jeminorth's nose, she smiled as the green blinked sleepy eyes and yawned widely. "Can you do something for me love? I need you to ask C'lryn what's going on." She whispered this as Jeminorth nodded sleepily, lifting her head slightly so she could nuzzle Rielana's face gently.
Minoath, do you know what's going on. Mine doesn't know, and I don't either. We're worried because there is someone odd around Probably not the best wayt to explain Rielana's worry, but it worked, after doing this, she yawned again, nuzzling up to her rider as Fiel slept on.
~*~
Gina left and Religna promtly refused to move, stroking Ith's hide gently. She didn't want to know what was going on, didn't care really. As long as they left her alone, she was happy, although, what if something happened like had happened to teh sr.weyrlings? Would it be cowardly to stay in her room with Ith? She didn't want to go though, unlike Gina, who had already left, she had no one else to go to. If her brother was there, well, yes, she'd have already run to him, but he wasn't. She was alone. Well, she had Ith, but that didn't make sitting in her room thinking horrible things any easier.
Why don't you relax, and wait and see?

There is a stranger in the barracks.
Minoath’s voice was oddly bristly as he spoke, eyes whirling a hint of orange as he lifted his head from his couch. Blinking first at his dragon then at the doorway, C’lryn jumped at the same time Darling let out a shriek and darted into his lap as someone appeared there… someone he’d never seen before in his life. The carving he was working on was dropped, though the knife was gripped even tighter. However, the lad didn’t make a move, although his eyes narrowed somewhat, only to widen in surprise at the... brownrider’s? comments. What the--? Glancing at Minoath as the man disappeared, it was clear he was perplexed.
Who in Faranth’s name was that?
A brownrider from Fort. Minoath sounded completely unimpressed before turning his attention to Jeminorth. There is someone going about requesting bronzes to accompany them to a new Weyr. The bronze rumbled low in his chest, almost a growl. I do not like it; where are the Weyrleaders? C’lryn was busy comforting a very spooked gold flitter, who clung to him and made odd sounds, her eyes whirling distressing colors as Minoath listened for the voices of others.
As soon as his little gold was no longer keeping a death grip on him, C’lryn stood, setting the carving knife down on his cot. “I’m going to go see what’s going on.” Whether he could have helped anything, he doubted, but he was going nonetheless. As soon as Darling realized what he intended, however, she squeaked and fluttered over to Minoath, nestling between the bronze’s flank and his tail. Crooning a comforting note to the little hatchling queen, the half-grown dragon turned his head to regard her briefly with a swirling gaze before looking up to see His disappearing through the doorway… and he seemed to know right where he was going.
Mine is on his way to you and Yours was spoken calmly to Jeminorth even as Minoath uttered another soothing croon to a timid Darling.

Pleased as he saw a couple more weyrlings eagerly start packing there things, T'rian smiled as he caught glimpses of other weyrlings. They were probably running to each others rooms to talk about if they wanted to come or not. He would let them talk. No pressure at all, certainly. A good number of weyrlings had already decided to come, and had told him so. He fervently hoped one of the bronzers would come, though. He was positive they would love the lifestyle at High Reaches. It was completely free and peaceful there. Free love, total relaxation, spending their days lying around... Unless they were flying Thread, of course. They would never forget their duty. But in the short months that they had been living there, it was absolutely perfect. He had started taking care of the herdbeasts, and was trying to experiment with ways to grow plants there. It was quite fun. It was like a Weyr with crafts. They had even started "training" the younger candidates. There were trainee gardeners, shepherds, musicians, miners... Well, it would expand a great deal once the population grew, of course. They only had a handful to each craft as of yet.
Distracted out of his musings by a figure too tall to be a weyrling, he raised an eyebrow. He chuckled. "Greetings," he called out cheerfully. "My name is T'rian. Elaira is getting the okay from Shmee to do this," he told F'rah reassuringly. Hm... Maybe he would be interested. "I'm trying to see if anyone is interested into coming with me. We've founded a new Weyr, and there's a clutch there, by the way. Would you be interested in coming? We could certainly use more riders!" He smiled kindly. "We're a Weyr about total peace and freedom from the disgusting ways of Benden or Fort. We take care of ourselves. It'll be fun," he added encouragingly. Of course, he was oblivious to the fact that he had sent a flitter about him.
He gestured around to the weyrlings. "A few of them have signed up already," he told them proudly. "Future little trainees of High Reaches Weyr! They're going to live such good lives with us, sir. You should tag along, and join in on the experience!"

"Excuse me if I take this all with a grain of salt, but personally I don't like the idea of strange men coming into the Barracks and disrupting the Weyrling's study time without coming to talk with /me/ first. In fact, the whole idea of trying to enlist /my/ Weyrlings without proper authorization from Weyrwoman Shmee is rather upsetting." With anger flitting across his face, F'rah glanced at his Weyrlings and gave a flick of his wrist, giving them the universal sign to stay put. How dare this man wonder in and try and recruit his weyrlings! He had no right to think that Selenitas, would willing give up some of their Weyrlings to a weyr that sounded destined to fail. Peace in a time of war? Were these people under some kind of spell that would make them think at they could escape the war just by hiding? No. Selenitas had been like that once, but it was inevitable that even the once peaceful Weyr would be drawn into the battle. "I am sorry. But until Weyrwoman Shmee, or Weyrleader S'rei says so, I must ask you to stop. You understand my displeasure. A good portion of my Weyrlings were murdered only a short while ago, and my trust is spread very... very thin."
---
Glaring at S'may from the nearest doorway, Saraina made a disgusted face before flashing a incredibly rude series of hand language at him. "That traitor. Leaving the Weyr that /gave/ him his dragon!" Snarling with despise, the Blueweyrling watched as F'rah showed his less refined side to the man. It was a rare sight to see the Weyrlingmaster this angry, but then again if she was in his situation, she would be pissed as hell. /Saramine. We aren't leaving right?/ Shards NO! Do you think I am so stupid enough to be swayed by this peace and no war garbage? /No Mine no! I never said anything like that!/ Grunting slightly as she watched Gina slip back to a doorway when F'rah waved them to stay put, Sara let her attention wonder before returning to glaring at all the weyrlings who were possibly leaving. "Stupid gits the lot of them." Not caring when Hokth barred his teeth at the sickeningly happy man, the young rider quietly seethed in dislike.
---
Stalking her way back to her room, Gina trained her eyes on her cousin for a moment before scurrying back to speak with her friend and their dragons. "Religna you wont believe what is happening. Some ex-Brownrider from Fort is trying to recruit Weyrlings for a new Weyr, preaching something about peace and not having anything to do with the War. Which of course is runnerpocky! Bah." Pausing only to catch her breath, the Greenrider then continued to speak to her friend. "And this guy, T'rain I think his name is, didn't even speak to F'rah before starting to prowl about for Weyrlings. SO! Now the Weyrlingmaster is pissed off, and none of us know if this rider is the real deal or not! I mean what does he think coming to Selenitas and trying to take some of us away so soon after the tragedy. Both Sara and I are staying, we would rather be loyal to a Weyr we know has survived well so far then join a new weyr that sounds horribly happy and doomed." Catching her breath again, Gina bounced slightly on one of the cots before nodding seriously.
Translating everything flowing out of her Mine's mouth to the human's dragon at the same time, Dasmonth put a snobby edge on everything and continuously referred to Selenitas 'her weyr'. /And so Gimine and I don't think you two should even think about going because... ew. These people sound just too happy and optimistic! Let alone ignorant fools./

I don't want to leave! Please Mine... The others can go, but I don't want to.... I hope Calistoth doesn't go.. Thoth's softly spoken words echoed in her head as Beka shook her head once, hurrying back to her dragon, he'd come to the door of their room trying to see everything. She'd wanted to find out if K'lir was leaving with them, but now, it seemed as though reassuring Thoth would be better. "Don't be silly. We're not going anywhere. Selenitas is our home." She murmured, glancing up at Saraina and nodding slightly.
"I wouldn't leave Selenitas for anything. We belong here..." She murmured as Anai twisted in her grip to climb onto her shoulder, hissing angrily at the strange man. He was trying to take Hers with him, make her leave, oh she wasn't happy with that. Not at all, Anai liked it at Selenitas. K'lir was there, and others that Hers got along with... "Anai shush. Th-they'll be leaving now right Saraina? They wouldn't take us without Shmee's permission, or F'rah's... Right? They can't make us leave... They just... Can't. It wouldn't be fair... They wouldn't take our Mine's away.. Right? No Thoth. They want us both to go. They can't need the lower rankers as much. They'd need candidates though.
~*~
Oh... That is good. You are not leaving are you Minoath? Eyes whirling uncertainly as Jeminorth hopped off her own couch to get closer to her rider. She didn't like this at all, what if they tried to take Hers away from her, without asking? Jeminorth didn't want to move weyrs, even if it meant she wouldn't have to put up with Calistoth all the time. That green just.. Annoyed her really. She was irritating... I hope they dont' come to Mine. We're not leaving! Right Mine?
"Absolutely my darling." Rielana laughed as she placed a comforting hand on Jeminorth's head, kissing her nose gently before tapping Fiel's tail to get his attention. The blue flitt spun automatically, cheeping as she picked him up, the blue tugging gently on her hair. The stranger in teh barracks was apparently of no worry to Rielana, too busy playing with her dragon and flitt to really worry. It wasn't like they'd leave, not even if they were asked. Rielana liked Selenitas, she was ever so fond of it... Laughing as Jeminorth suddenly decided to join in by pouncing at her playfully. Careful to land a few paces away from her, she trilled softly as Rielana laughed and squirmed away from her breath.
~*~
Religna looked up as Gina spoke to her, listening politely even as she shook her head slightly. The idiots, after what happened with the senior weyrlings, they truely believed that they were going to allow the juniors to go off without permission from Shmee? She wouldn't leave Rawign for anything, nor would she upset Ith, or Toria for that matter, the little green would do anything for her, either of them would, but she didn't want to upset their lives.
"I'm not leaving. Rawgin's here, and Ith likes it here. I'm never going north. Never again, I won't take Ith there." Glancing at Ith as the green crooned rassuringly and Toria hopped onto her shoulder, nuzzling her gently. "I never want to see the north again. New weyr or not." She grolwed, smiling as Torit cheeped happily
Ith had listened patiently to Dasmonth, Ith was truely worried about Hers. Why ever would they leave? Could she not see that the very thought of going North distressed her rider? Being happy and optomistic does not make one ignorant. That they believe hiding will stop Benden hounding their footsteps is what makes them ignorant. We will not leave Dasmonth, the idea of the north distresses LiMine, I would not worry. Let those who will not fight for Theirs and the weyr they were born in leave and go to hide in the north.

T'rian raised his eyebrows in mild surprise. "But she's giving us permission even as we speak," he told the man with a frown. "Surely our fair Weyrwoman Elaira would've told us if we didn't go. I'm surprised that you're being so uptight with these weyrlings. So many rules, not enough free time, that's always how the old Weyrs ran. I'm assuming you follow tradition of making the weyrlings abstain from love before the dragons reach maturity? I think that's a bit unfair. Shouldn't the rider and the dragon be able to understand from a young age? Give them basic lessons, but leave them alone. They'll learn as they grow over. Don't shove it in their heads all at once. We find it makes for a much better life." He nodded sagely, as if F'rah were his pupil. Well, if he decided to come, he very well would be Elaira's pupil. Everyone who lived at High Reaches was her follower. Sure, Z'mast didn't take it all that seriously, but still. This lifestyle was the best sort of thing he could imagine. Everything made such sense.
He paused. Mine, Salenth is trying to remove us, Lomith informed him. What do we do? T'rian paled. It seems as though the Weyrleaders had failed to see the perfect way of High Reaches. It won't be long till Aslath tries to tell us the same. Tell the bronzes to get the weyrlings back before she can command them.
"Time to go, last chance!" he announced quickly. The last weyrling ran out from the barracks. With a jaunty wave, T'rian bolted out. "All right, hold the dragons between you and land them gently in the Weyrbowl!" he yelled. A good number of weyrlings were being lifted up into the air. A few had already made it back, he hoped. He had gotten a couple girls, he thought merrily. Rilliana and Lennae, he would find out later. At the moment, that was the last thing he was worried about.
She commanded us away! Lomith said as soon as he got in the air. Fortunately, when she said they needed to leave now, they were already doing so. They simply had about ten weyrlings with them. Her last part of the command was too late. They were gone.
