I'nos grasped his shoulder and hissed. By the Egg, that hurt! He really should have been more cautious while training, he supposed, but no matter. A random thought occured to him: he'd done the same stupid things while training that he could picture Tirneth doing. Wow. They really were similar. Whatever. It was done with now. He rolled his shoulder, trying to gauge how badly he was hurt. The reaction was almost crippling and he staggered mid-step. Um, Ow.
You should get a healer to look at that, Mine.
I'nos grimaced and nodded. "See you back at our weyr?"
Fine.
I'nos could tell he wasn't happy about it, but he still launched himself into the air and awkwardly flapped away. Grinding his teeth together, he set off towards the infirmary. Each step seemed to jar his arm even worse and he had to bite his tongue against crying out because it hurt so bad.
He walked in and looked around. They weren't exactly busy, but there was also next to no one in here. There were perhaps three people, including himself.
"Um, hello?" He asked. "Sorry to disturb you all, but it feels like my arm is about to fall off."

"Falling off!?"
It was a concerned sort of squeal that proceeded Raebeli as she rounded the corner in tiny, quickened steps. In her rush, it took a moment even for her to realize that it was I'nos who called out to the infirmary at large, and that he wasn't truly at risk of losing any body parts. Looking him up and down in a quick scan she finally focused in on the before mentioned arm, noting which one it was that he seemed to favor more, "What did you do to it?" She hadn't noticed any flesh wounds, unless he had managed to wrap that up on his own and was pretty gifted at hiding injuries.
"Why don't you sit down over here first, and then we can decide if you really need amputation or not," she gave him a playful wink and with a bit of a push to his back tried to usher him over to the edge of a cot, "Anyway, whats your name? I guess I need to know otherwise I'll just be calling you 'Guy' the whole time," she supposed there were some other healers in these parts that would be perfectly fine with never learning a patient's name, but the ever personable Raebeli could never live with herself if she didn't try and befriend everybody. If it made her come off a little ditzy or at worst an incorrigible flirt, then nobody had told her.
"I'm Journeywoman Raebeli by the way, though you can just call me Rae if that suits you."

I'nos had to force himself not to jump. She seemed overly enthusiastic, but maybe that was just him not used to people being loud around him. Rarely did you meet a person at the weyr who would squeal like that. Especially over an injury. The healer studied him for a moment and he once again felt the urge to slap himself for his stupidity.
"I think I ripped something while training. If I try to move it, it feels like its on fire." he replied. Following her over to a table, he sat down, letting her inspect his injury cautiously. "My name? My name is I'nos."
He'd never met a person more excited about...well, to be honest, he didn't really know what she was excited about, but she seemed nice and at least he'd got a nice healer who made converstaion versus one who just working in silence and made you feel guilty and stupid at the same time for getting hurt.
"Rae..." he rolled the name around on his tongue. "It's a pretty name, Raebeli."
A joking glint entered his eyes as a hint of his own good-humoured self came back. "It's better than I'nos, huh!?"

"Well it is nice to meet you I'nos! Always unfortunate under these circumstances though, don't ya think?"
She noted his description of the pain and immediately filed away the thoughts in her brain. He definitely needed some sort of concoction to help ease the pain. Fellis might be the go to route for some healers, but it seemed too extreme of a prescription for a fresh injury that could be healed with much less. Explaining herself as she seemed to flitter over to a cabinet, she told the rider in a tone that was half self-musing, "Rosemary, and some thymus maybe. A few other things mixed together. We had a jar of it somewhere in here, it should relieve the pain for a.... aha!" She was elated as she pulled the vessel out from behind a few others. It must have been a while since anyone has come in with a strain, but when she found it, the girl sing-songed, "I founnnddd it!"
The woman bounced back over with the clay pot, and set it down beside the young man, "You know I think I'nos is a perfectly lovely name as well. What was it before you Impressed?" With one hand she started scooping out globs of the mixture and applying it with a vague warning of, "This will be cold," but not for long obviously. One thing that was for sure was that the greenrider was not shy about touching and she just chatted along some more as both hands went about messaging the lotion in around the shoulder, "Does it hurt to touch at all? Sadly there is not a whole lot that we can do about a torn muscle except to grin and bear it. Though I can make you a sling, if that will keep you from using it."
She stopped for a second then, her blue eyes wide as she turned her head to peer up at his face. Pleading she asked, "And you promise you won't use it for a bit won't you? It will just get worse if you keep testing it." Raebeli didn't like having to remind people of that, but some dragonriders could be particularly stubborn, and stern reminders and oaths were the only way to keep them in line.

I'nos grinned. "Nice to meet you too, Rae."
Her singsong declaration brought a smile to his face that he couldn't help. His younger sister used to sing kind of like that whenever he used to be able to sneak a jewel away from his mom's workshop to let her play with for a while. He didn't particularly care what herbs or concontion she used to help his shoulder, but it was nice of her to at least inform him. Most healers just slathered something on, told him it would help, and then left him to his own devices. At least now he knew exactly what it was that was allieviating his pain.
He turned his grin on her. "Thanks. It used to be Ilaxnos. A nice name, I suppose, but I'm very happy with my contraction."
He could feel Tirneth humming happily in the back of his head. Dork. And if there was one thing Rae wasn't squeamish about, it was apparently touching. He flinched slightly as the lotion hit his skin. It was cold, as she'd warned, but that wasn't what caused his flinch. It did hurt to touch, but she was thankfully gentle and the pain was minimal.
"I don't know if a sling will do anything. It's up to you, madame healer. What do you think is best for my poor arm?" he joked.
Her blue eyes were earnest as she begged him to take it easy with his arm. He wanted more than anything to say yes- I'nos, the pathological people pleaser for you- but he couldn't stop thinking about something Tirneth had said earlier to him. "Uh...that may be easy said than done in my case." -his grin this time was foolhardy more than friendly and he chuckled- "I kinda promised something to Tirneth. I suppose I can put off his tomfoolery until it feels better, though."
