Name: D'dual
Age: 23
Turnday: September 26, 3000
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bi-Curious?
Rank: Bluerider of Selenitas Weyr
Physical Appearance:
Standing at 5'10 he is neither short nor tall as he falls somewhere in between the two spectrums. Fairly good looking he keeps his dirty blonde hair also in between short and long, it typically is long enough to cover his earlobes though sometimes he cuts it a bit shorter than that. None too special blue eyes and a nothing special nose and facial structure flesh out the picture of a good looking but nothing to write home about young man. He would no doubt be considered handsome by some women, so-so by others, and perhaps even unappealing to yet other women.
While he was average overall everywhere else in his looks - even his wardrobe was full of earthy tones and no real 'pop' - he did a good job of keeping his physical condition a bit above average. Well toned in his arms and core and decently so in his legs it was obvious he spent his spare time working out. Proud of his toned form but not one to brag, it would be unusual to see him showing it off - most of the time his clothing hid what he worked so hard at.
Personality:
Northern ideals shaped much of his personality from a young age. Women weren't meant to be leaders. Men were in charge. So on and so forth. Still he is fairly personable, friendly, and overall a good guy. He's pretty open minded for hailing from the north and is not one to hold grudges. Somewhat of a practical joker he finds the humor in any situation - though he does know when to be serious.
Overall he's someone that doesn't have too hard of a time making friends when he decides he wants them, though his wishy washy loyalty often leads to him ditching them once they've outlived their usefulness in his life.
Northern Born... 3000-3014
Born on a cothold outside of Benden Hold to Deidra and Laudir, Dedual was the third born - the second son. Deirdra was a simple weaver who made a modest living off her wares, though Laudir was the real breadwinner of the family as was the norm in the north. Growing up was nothing spectacular for Dedual and life was fairly normal. Of course they knew about the war but as none of them had ties to the Weyr aside from tithing they were able to ignore it.
So a happy childhood with all of his family is what Dedual had, he took up weaving rather than winery like his father. He was rather skilled at it but when his mother fell ill he refused to continue on to his apprenticeship and stayed in the Hold to care for her. She passed just short of his fourteenth turnday - a crushing blow to the young man.
Benden Bound... 3014-3019
Life would not allow him to mourn for long though as it had other plans for him. A searchrider came to the Hold and Dedual was called out to come to the Weyr. Resistant at first he was not given a choice in the matter and so it was to Benden Weyr he went. No one in his family had ever been a rider before and it seemed to him that would continue to be the case as he failed to Impress the first time he stood on the hatching grounds.
It would be an uneventful few turns for the young man in the Weyr, standing time and time again only to be left standing. He did not seem to mind though it was increasingly obvious he did not fit into the Weyr lifestyle all that well.
Just after hitting his eighteenth turnday he had decided to give up Candidacy and head back to Benden Hold, but as he stood on the sands for what he thought to be his very last time... he Impressed!
A blue named Anath chose him from all the others and from that moment on he was a Weyrling. While the war had effected him in the capacity that it directly effected the place he was living, now it had more meaning. He may be expected to fight once he graduated. These thoughts loomed in his mind throughout weyrlinghood, but as the war came to an end in 3019 he was spared having to fight.
Big Changes... Southern Winds... 3020-Present
[/b][/u]Things continued to change for the Weyrling, graduating just as the first Pern Summit was called. Not being in attendance made no difference as soon the decisions made by the riders, holders, and crafters who had attended were passed along to the Weyrs. Benden was to be retired and a new central northern Weyr would take its place, Inverness.
Crafters were sent away to Holds - but as D'dual never officially accepted his apprenticeship to the weaver's hall he sent south to Selenitas Weyr. The idea was to intermingle riders from various Weyrs to try and strengthen the newly forged bond and to help Pern heal. Though unsure of how well such a thing would work, D'dual and Anath soon headed south to Selenitas.
In the three turns since arriving south not much has happened to really effect the bluerider's life. New friendships were made, though they were few and far between. His northern ideals did not fit well into those of those held in the south but he has adapted as best he can and avoided trouble for the most part.
Name: Anath
Color: Blue (00F0E3)
Age: 5 turns
Clutch Dam and Sire: Kleopath and Ustelmeth
Physical Appearance:
Anath's hide was a sight to be sure - a light teal draped in an even coat of color across the whole of his hide. The color was mostly unbroken, or so it seemed to be at first glance. Closer inspection revealed a dappling of a darker shade of teal across his narrow muzzle and the leading edges of his wings. The secondary color color could also be found in splatters across his upper back and chest. There was no real rhyme or reason to the duality of color, it looked as if the blue had been born one color and then flew through a cloud of dye leaving his hide mottled.
Aside from Anath's interesting color, he was fairly regular in all other regards. Only a smidge larger than the average blue, with a long and lean tail. Lean was a theme across the blue's form - while he was not lean enough to ever be mistaken for a green he definitely lacked definition in certain areas that would make him seem more masculine. Anath's musculature has the potential to be far more defined with more bulk added to his form - however it will take a lot of exercising and drills to build him up and maintain it. He will likely bulk up some throughout the turns as long as His is not lazy when it comes to making exercise a daily activity.
Personality:
It is clear from the time Anath hatches that he hates being in the spotlight. He isn't overly shy, but he would much rather be unnoticed by just about everyone - apart from His of course. Despite being the type who would rather stay out of the lime light, Anath loves everyone. Humans. Dragons. Firelizards. Salamandyrs. Even whers. He can befriend any of them if given the chance. Aside from his quirk of staying unnoticed, Anath is likely to have a fairly active social life - as far as a dragon's social life can go. He will Chase, frequently; though he most likely won't win, as winning would mean attention would be paid to him and he just won't have it.
Anath could be an amazing aerial flier. The best of the best when it comes to flying against Thread - but he isn't. He only has himself to blame, as it will not be due to lack of training and preparation that he will always fall just short of fantastic. The only thing standing in Anath's way of greatness is himself, but don't bother trying to tell him that as he is likely to argue or close himself off and sulk for a few days. Despite being overly friendly most of the time, Anath does have his child-like moments where he just wants to sulk and hide under the covers. A feat which will likely be harder and harder as he grows.
