Tenlie
Greenrider, Glasscrafter, Runaway Bride
Greenrider, Glasscrafter, Runaway Bride
Name: Tenlie (Ten)
Age: 26 (July 2996)
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (mostly)
Rank: Greenrider/Journeyman Glasscrafter
Location: Hyphen Hold
Physical Appearance:
Rajnith and the move back to Ista (and too much free time) have combined to make Ten take more care of her appearance than she has since she was a child. In contrast to the practical, fresh-faced sort of pretty her friends at Selenitas and Burimyu remember, Ten is now groomed and made up to within an inch of her life, courtesy of her mother and the other ladies who have decided that a 26-year-old unmarried member of the Lord Holder's family is unacceptable. For the first time in her life, her hair is shiny and curly and not frizzy, and she's actually wearing makeup regularly. She's still lean and muscular, especially for a girl, although she's put on some fat after moving back to the holds. The only good thing about that, as far as she can see, is that her chest is actually apparent now, not as flat as it used to be. She still stands at a long-legged 5'7, and although she can still be clumsy, she has turned in to a surprisingly graceful dancer. Her face is still cheeky, and her hands and feet are still large (all of which lend to the impression that she's younger than she is), but the Istan ladies have hidden her imperfections as effectively as possible.
She still pulls her back into a no-nonsense runnertail or braid for work, but she leaves it loose for anything else. It is black and naturally wavy, matching dark brown, slightly tilted eyes. Overall, her features are nice enough, regular and symmetrical, although her lips are thinner than she would like even after applying whatever cosmetics she now uses. They are a deep reddish brown, several shades darker than her rather dark skin. It is deeply bronzed, past tan into darker shades of brown, and her face is usually slightly sunburned across the nose. The color is unbroken, but the surface is not- scars, mainly from burns but also including threadscores and various wounds, cover her hands and forearms, and also mark her upper arms and thighs. Ten used to hate them, but she's come to wear them as badges of honor - they're the only things that remind her of her life at the Weyr, the only thing Milanie and Rajnith and the ladies of Ista can't cover up and prettify.
Personality:
Tenlie is generally an all-around nice person, as long as she isn't working, which she often is. She'll be friendly if you come introduce yourself to her, but she'd generally rather sit alone than go out on a limb to meet anyone else. She won't necessarily be your best friend in a day, but she's no ice queen. Happy to converse with anyone any time she's free, she is bubbly, witty and intelligent, somewhat interesting, and rather gullible (a fact her fellow apprentices capitalized on without cease). She isn't a large fan of the upper echelons of society, however, preferring stablehands, drudges, apprentices and cotholders to Lords and Ladies. Come to her with your nose in the air and you will get the cold shoulder.
If you disturb her when she's working, though, expect to be ignored until she can safely put down her work. Then, turn and run, because the tongue-lashing you will get is incredible. This applies to anything she is focused on, from glass-work to paperwork to chores. It is NOT a good idea to try and get her attention when she's into something, even if the Weyr is burning down around her. In fact, it's quite difficult- she seems to go temporarily deaf, and will keep right on working without acknowledging any intruders until they physically touch her. Also not a good idea, unless you like hot glass in your face.
Once you get to know her, it becomes clear that Ten is as intense about her friendships as she is about her glasswork. When she gets comfortable with a person, she is attached to them for as long as she can be, caring for them like a mother. It can get annoying, especially if you are prone to pranks or waving sharp things around, but if you're sick, need help with something, or need a question answered, Ten is the person to go to first. She generally knows the answer, and if she doesn't know it, she finds out and follows up. She's also good-natured and fun despite her high level of maturity her tendency towards the responsible choice instead of the reckless one. She's also a very surface person, wearing her heart on her sleeve 24/7. She's not good at hiding when she's upset, and something as simple as breaking a piece she's almost done with can make her dissolve into tears- once she's made it back to a safe, private place. This surprises many people, who see her as unflappably strong and capable, and constantly calm in difficult situations (the ones that don't have to do with her, at least). She's also not a very good liar, despite her general reserve around people of authority.
In matters of the heart, however, she is nothing short of clueless. Never the one to make the first move, she somehow manages to either get herself into situations that are way more romantic or sexually charged than intended and doesn't even realize until whoever she's with acts on it, or becomes "friends" with someone she truly likes, then never manages to move beyond that. For someone who hit puberty surrounded by males, she's never been brave enough to act on her feelings, and spent a lot of time protecting herself by being just plain unavailable; a mentality she's had a hard time shaking and probably never will.
History:
2996 - 3004: Ista Hold; Heir to Ista
Tenlie was never meant to be a Crafter or a Rider. For the first eight years of her life, she was the only child of the Lord Holder Midolan of Ista's sister, Milanie. Lord Holder Midolan himself had no heir, leaving Tenlie the next in line. She was groomed to be Lady Holder one day, married to the Midolan's choice male. About five weeks after her eighth birthday, though, the Lady Holder Fiorela delivered a perfect baby boy, and no one knew what to do with Ten. She wouldn't be marrying the Lord Holder's heir, not being almost ten years his senior, and his cousin at that. Dropped suddenly from the attention of the upper echelon, she was left mostly to her own devices.
3004 - 3013: Glasscraft Hall; Apprentice, Journeyman
Shortly thereafter, Ten started spending more time with the glasscrafters down at the hall. As a child of Ista, she had been introduced to the smithcraft early, but had spent more time daydreaming than working on her assignments, so no one expected her to take it seriously. With her brown firelizard Zerri to harry her into focusing, however, she slowly but surely wormed her way into an apprenticeship. Having nowhere to direct her energy but the craft and Zerri, she quickly progressed, rising through the ranks of apprentices. She chose to stay with glasscraft early (rather than travel to the Smithcraft hall at Telgar), preferring the delicacy of glass to the strength of metal, and found the soft expression much more suited to her taste.
This direction proved to be highly valuable for Tenlie, as she continued to rise through the ranks. Despite the extraordinary length of standard Smithcraft apprenticeships, she found herself close to walking the tables in less than ten years. But in her 16th turn, tragedy struck- tunnelsnakes got into a clutch sired by Zerri, killing her Brown in the attack. Ten was heartbroken, and her studies suffered for it. Although Ten didn't know it, the Masters delayed her advancement, concerned about her well being. Eventually, a Master Glasscrafter summoned her to his rooms to have a word with her. No one really knows what went on between the two of them, but when Ten came out, she was more focused than ever.
Shortly after her 17th turnday, Ten did walk the tables, becoming a Journeywoman. She was offered a few different postings for her skill level, but the one that attracted her immediately was Selenitas Weyr, a Southern Weyr she knew little about. Not for the glasscrafting opportunities- it wasn't the best for that, not when she could have gone to Benden Hold and blown glass for the Lord Holder- but it gave her an opportunity to be close to dragons, who reminded her so much of Zerri. So she boarded the Blue they sent to collect her, several packs of supplies strapped on behind her, and took her first journey between, to her new life.
3014 - 3015: Selenitas Weyr; Candidate, Weyrling
It was in the chaos around Fort's attack on High Reaches and the fleeing riders arriving at Selenitas that Tenlie's life changed forever. Watching her new home be destroyed and being able to do nothing about it did not sit well with the Journeyman - as soon as the crisis was averted, Tenlie marched herself up to the Candidatemaster's door and declared her intention to stand for the next available clutch. She also Impressed one of Rose's offspring, a blue fire lizard she named Big Brother. He was no Zerri, but he did help Ten fill the hole left by the Brown's loss.
She did stand for Hepaticath's clutch, arriving mid-glasswork to impress Green Rajnith not long into the hatching. The pair initially had some trouble with their mental connection, but performed acceptably during Weyrling training. Tenlie also acquired three new pets: Ugly Duckling, the swan that hatched from the mystery egg Mi'rah bought her in return for a star viewer; Grip, a blue Salamandyr and one of Harmony's brood; and Cujo, a Blue from a wild clutch.
Shortly after Cujo's hatching, Rajnith rose for the first time - the first of her class, of course. After a dramatic flight during which Mi'rah nearly strangled Ba'sun and Ekarth attempted to steal the win, Rajnith settled for Bronze Kierjaarth, prompting Ten to reveal her poorly-hidden affection for Mi'rah. It went surprisingly well... until Wasteland invaded a few days later, effectively exiling Ten and her entire Weyrling class to Burimyu Weyr and leaving Mi'rah at Selenitas.
3015 - 3019: Burimyu Weyr/New Selenitas Weyr; Weyrling, Dragonrider
After the chaos of the invasion and escape, life settled into a fairly predictable pattern once again. Ten, lacking the tools to do any crafting, started helping out in the Infirmary when she wasn't at lessons. Graduation came quickly, and Ten and Rajnith conducted a Search or two before the pair was drafted to participate in a raid on a tithe caravan. It went mostly smoothly, although a scared boy managed to slice a fairly big chunk out of the new Greenrider's arm. It was Elysia that came to her rescue - since, Ten has considered asking the older Greenrider for lessons in defense, but hasn't gotten her courage up yet. A close shave at the Hyphen gather - this time, it was Wherhandler Ximera that saved her - gave her the motivation she needed to start some weapons training, making her eligible for a place on a mixed wing. Rajnith's second flight was won by her clutchbrother Dhavalth, leaving Ten in bed with her friend Jazheera, straining the relationship Ten had struck up with Brownrider C'oar, although the two continued spending time together.
The great earthquake effected Tenlie not at all, but the merging of the Weyrs did - Mi'rah returned to her life, along with many of her friends that had been left behind. The relationship between Mi'rah and Tenlie was as awkward and strained as ever, but Rajnith settled happily back in with her favorite cuddle partner (even as she went about collecting a wide variety of suitors during her flights). It was during Nitrath's maiden flight that Ten realized that Mi'rah might actually have feelings for her - after all, he appeared at her door instead of the Goldrider's. This pleased the Greenrider to no end, and the pair struck a slow, somewhat awkward romance. The pet plague took poor Cujo's life, but Ten almost immediately replaced him with yet another blue - her very own white knight, Quixote.
The politics of the Dragon Wars mostly escaped Ten, although she knew Mi'rah had a part in it. Honestly, she did her best not to think about it or talk about it with him - she knew he'd spend every waking moment thinking about it if he could, and she took on the job of stress relief, getting him away from his desk whenever possible. Ten herself was tapped for the main strike force in the battle that ended the war; she was one among many, but she and Rajnith managed to acquit themselves well enough. Little did she know what madness she had contributed to.
3020 - 3022: Pern-wide Summit; Re-assigned to Ista
Besides her impression to Rajnith, the Summit was probably the single most drastic event in Ten's life. As a Crafter, she was re-assigned to a Hold... far away from her budding relationship with Mi'rah. As a relative of the Istan Lord Holder, she didn't even have the freedom to choose a hold close to Selenitas. The Lord Holder requested that she be returned to her family, and so she was. She toyed with the idea of asking Mi'rah to be her Weyrmate, so he could come with her, but eventually decided against it. It was more important for him to serve Pern than to make one woman happy, or at least that was how Ten saw it. As such, she relocated with grace, returning to her family. Rajnith was in heaven - although she may have lost her draconic harem, she had a whole Hold full of human admirers, every single one of which understood her status as a queen among dragons.
Things did not go so well for Ten. Ista, after all, is not a very nice place for an unmarried female Crafter/Dragonrider. Not a very nice place at all. Even worse, Rajnith was restricted to flights at Inverness, and Mi'rah was at Selenitas. Of course. At least she got some more experience?
Her mother and the other ladies of the Istan Lord's family made Ten their personal project. Marriage offers were predictably poor (she WAS already 24 when she was moved back, an old maid by Istan standards), but Milanie and co. held out for something that wouldn't be embarrassing to the family, meanwhile devoting all of their attention to turning Tenlie into a dream wife, despite the age and the dragon and the crafter's knots. They certainly had their work cut out for them, but eventually a reasonable offer came in: an older gentleman (yes, even older than Mi'rah) named Omniver, a respected citrus baron who had recently lost his second wife to fever. The arrangement was agreed upon by all involved - naturally, Ten was not even consulted - and the 'couple' announced their engagement at the Turnover gather held at the beginning of 2023, to Ten's great surprise.
3023 - Present: Hyphen Hold; Watchrider
Ten, to say the least, was not pleased. For the first time in her life, she took initiative and directly disobeyed her mother: she contacted the people in charge and requested a transfer, citing Hyphen's need for an assistant to the resident aging Master Glasscrafter at the hold. The transfer was granted, and six weeks before her wedding Ten and Rajnith disappeared from Ista without a trace.
Rajnith
Green Dragon
Name: Rajnith (from “Rajni” meaning “queen”)
Age: 8 Turns (born July 3014)
Color: Green
Physical Appearance:
Someone had better keep this little gal away from the sweets. She is popping out of the egg with just enough leg-length to keep from looking like a ball of green dragonflesh. That extra fat should burn off in time, but she will always be a small and stout little creature, round in the belly and the backside. Her wings are extra long and wide, perhaps to compensate for her added bulk, and her tail is long and strong as well, probably to provide better balance for her chunky little frame. Her neck is average in length and possessing of a nice curve to it, giving her quite the regal sort of look when combined with the definition to her ridges. Her head is shapely, a strange sight considering the majority of her body does not look very stately or... regal.
Ah, but in coloration, Rajnith compensates for her dumpy frame. At least... she compensates a little. Her hide is a very beautiful green, a dark emerald hue that is broken up by faint smears of yellowish highlights along her back, wings, and hindquarters. The top of her head is the same yellow hue, combined with a tiny yellow ‘beauty spot’ just above her mouth and below her left nostril. Each of these yellow highlights has the faintest bit of shine, though that might just be a trick of the light. Regardless, she is a pretty, if a little odd, sort of green, especially given the sparkling white color of her claws. No discolorations on this little girl, that’s for sure!
Given that she is somewhat... large... in girth, it is to be expected that she won’t outperform many greens in acrobatics. In fact, she’ll probably be called on more for her stamina than her speed and agility, for despite her size, she is a very sturdy sort of creature. She has enough muscle in that chunky little body to keep herself aloft for quite awhile, especially given the massive wingspan she sports. Her grace will never be legendary, but she can easily keep up with the blues if given the chance and enough practice and training. Her movements on the ground are no more flattering, given that her legs seem just a smidge too short for that tubby little torso. Fear not, though. She can move when she puts her mind to it, though she’d really just prefer to not put her scoot on.
Personality:
Here comes the queen: fair, fat, and... green. Don’t call her ‘fat’ to her face, though, or Faranth have mercy on your soul. Rajnith is, in her own mind, a queen, and, therefore, she is pleasantly plump and not fat. And why shouldn’t she be plump, considering she demands only the best for herself. She seems to possess a great deal of conceit and refuses anything that she considers ‘substandard.’ Only the best cuts of meat, the best oil, the best brush, and the most perfect leathers may ever be near her royal self, and you’d best run if you offer her anything less. She’ll probably try to influence anyone nearby to take a snap at you. Unfortunately, she seems to be good at getting people to do her bidding. For all of her conceit, she is remarkably charismatic and oozes charm to an extent that is just short of nauseating. Those intelligent enough to steer clear at her will doubtlessly laugh at the followers who tag behind her stout little self, given that the image of this little green and her consorts will be quite funny.
And, oh, consorts she will have! The males all belong to her, in her own mind, and Rajnith despises those who take what is rightfully hers. She whines, fusses, and throws a temper tantrum worthy of a two-Turn-old child until she gets her way or runs out of energy. Hers had better get used to tantrums; they will happen quite frequently until Rajnith understands that the entirety of the universe does not revolve around her backside the way she thinks it does. She absolutely abhors rudeness from others, even if she is the epitome of it herself. Unfortunately, her rudeness towards others is often displayed in such a politely stated manner as to be overlooked. Rajnith is very good at being sly with her insults, so any retaliation by the offended seems overdone. Whom but the most conceited individuals can be rude with a smile and know they are safe from repercussions?
While Hers is probably going to be driven crazy by the demands of Rajnith’s daily life, the rewards of Rajnith’s affection will be given in spades. Rajnith favors many with her company (she does need slaves, after all), but very few individuals are awarded with her affection. Hers is first and foremost in her mind, second only to Rajnith in terms of importance. Those in Rajnith’s affection will find themselves largely exempt from her insults and gifted with a great deal of honesty. She owes them no less, she reasons. Her loyalty, in lust and friendship, is granted very rarely for unselfish purposes. She is true to you so long as you do her bidding or don’t go against her wishes… unless she counts you among the very few worthy of her affection. For these folk, she will wield her precious, unstained claws. Hers.
Big Brother
Blue Firelizard
Name: Big Brother (Bro)
Color: Blue
Age: 8 Turns (born April 3014)
Notes: Big Brother can not transfer between due to mental damage caused by the pet plague.
Physical Appearance:
This little man is a slinky thing, with a very lithe and long body. But despite this appearance, he is actually very well muscled. Stronger than he appears, he is both capable of daring feats as well as startling agility both on the ground and in the air. It is not unusual to find him tied completely in knots just for the fun of it. And it does not appear to hurt him in the slightest to contort in such fashions. Tight spaces are no obstacle to him.
A dead, flat blue in color, there is nothing remarkable about his coloration at all. The color is monotone and perfectly flawless all the way across the body. But that coupled with his tendency to be in awkward positions, he often can appear to be a bit of refuse sitting around. A lot like a wadded up sun bleached shirt that used to be a rich blue in better days.
Personality:
If it is happening, he has to see it. Suspicious is an understatement for this fellow. Nothing is ever benign, and he is always looking for the ulterior motives. Trust is a very hard thing for him, and not even his own person has his trust most of the time. Always alert, almost afraid to sleep, he will watch everything, sneak into places to see what is going on behind closed doors … anything to have a better idea just what scheming is going on behind his back. He even spies on dragons. Unfortunately, with a blue's memory, he never has a complete picture and is never satisfied.
Due to the frequent sleepless spells, he can get quite cranky, making his suspicious nature even worse. From time to time, it will greatly behoove his owner to go ahead and have him doped into a sleep to improve his attitude. His sleep, even when natural, is never peaceful, however, always twitching and flicking, with the occasional disdainful hiss.
Ugly Duckling
Male Swan
Male Swan
Name: Ugly Duckling (Ducky)
Gender: Male
Age:8 Turns (born September 3014)
Physical Appearance:
At hatching this baby was not exactly what one would call cute. With a neck that seemed abnormally long for his body, huge awkward looking webbed feet and eyes that seemed far to large for his tiny skull, there was no other word to describe him besides ugly. He was also far from elegant. In fact he was likely to face plant a half a dozen times on his way anywhere. He didn’t even have a nice color. Instead he was covered in a grey fuzz. This fuzz wasn’t particularly soft either. In fact it had a slightly greasy feel to it. One might think it couldn’t get any worse for this little guy. In fact it did. His calls were nothing short of hideous sounding. He didn’t have the sweet chirp of a baby chick, or the soft quack of a duck. Instead the noise he made could be compared to that of a dying goat. Not in the least attractive. However beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Ten never minded her bird's strangeness. She kept him around long enough to be richly rewarded: the awkwardness of his youth has faded, to be replaced with an elegant stance most people would be jealous of.
Now mature, it seems as if he literally transformed from Igor into a thing of beauty. The baby down has been replaced by pure white feathers as soft as silk, complete with a mask of black starting at his bill and surrounding both eyes. He has grown into his neck and feet and his call has become beautiful, not unlike that of a horn or trumpet. His movement is now graceful; the stumbling and tripping of youth replaced by an elegance that is astounding. Who knew something so ugly could grow into something so beautiful?
Personality:
This little guy from birth is nothing short of sweet, patient, and loving. He is content to wait for food, water, attention and the like. He has the patience of a saint. But only in the care of his bonded. To everyone else the term guard dog would be sufficient to sum up his personality. Even from the tender age of his hatching he seems to have a love for his boarding on mentally possessive. Anyone seeking to steal the attention of his in his presence will be attacked. By bill, wings, and sound. As a young thing this will not be a problem at all. In fact it even might be viewed as comical. However once he grows into a full adult with a seven foot wing span... well suffice to say it could quickly turn into a problem. But how can his scold such a brave, handsome, loving creature as his? Any scolding on the part of his will be met by an extremely sad, loving, apologetic swan. Can’t she see? He is only trying to protect her from them. They are evil. She is far safer with him. His will quickly find that the only way to stop his from assaulting those who wish to befriend her is to lock him up. Unfortunately this will result in a very angry and noisy swan. His calls are borderline deafening as well. Neighbors beware.
Still for all his little quirks there is no hiding that he adores his and would do anything to protect her. The only other thing that takes up his time is the search for a mate. For you see, swans mate for life. He will not be happy until he finds his chosen one. Problem being he doesn’t restrict the search to other avians. Oh no. Everything female is examined for possible mate material. Humans, felines, flitters, mandyrs, dragons. You name it. If it looks female it could possibly be his beloved. His targets will find themselves stalked by this gorgeous bird, presented with gifts, and if they give him any sort of attention of humor him beware. You are likely to have a large beautiful shadow following you everywhere. His attentions will only cease after he realizes the futility of trying to mate with his current ‘girlfriend’. Once he realizes it is physically impossible (normally by trying to mount his target) he will drift off to the next target and repeat the process. The one for him as to be out there somewhere.
Grip
Blue Salamandyr
Name: Grip
Color: Blue
Age: 8 Turns (born December 3014)
Physical Appearance:
This blue is far from typical in appearance. He will be extremely large for a blue mandyr, averaging about brown size with the musculature to match. If not for his coloration he would surely be mistaken for a brown. Heavy muscle is prominent under his soft hide and he is fond of flexing this muscle to show it off. His muscular body is offset by his abnormally long tail and large wings. His tail, in fact, is easily three times the length of his body. It tapers off to whip thin and he will be fond of using it to pick up and move things as well as coiling it around anything he can, especially his bonded. His wings are easily large enough to support him in limited flight and he will be able to chase the firelizards he seems to adore with ease. Ringing his head are the same bony protrusions the rest of the clutch seems to sport instead of the traditional frill. His particular spines being like his mothers large and sharp easily able to cause damage if he is not careful with them.
His coloration is best described as the same shade of the sky on a hot cloudless day. A bright sky blue. The only other marking on his body breaking the shade some in the form of twin rows of navy spots. These spots run from the base of his head to the tip of his tail. The membranes of his wings are just a shade lighter than his body and sport twin eye markings like the rest of the clutch. One on each wing. His particular marking made up of a white iris ringing a red pupil.
Personality:
This large mandyr seems to have picked up the temperament of his mother without her customary rages. He is sweet tempered, patient loving and anger seems to be a foreign concept to him. Probably good considering he probably would be able to do some damage to another if he tried. Unfortunately this blue is not very intelligent. He understands most simple concepts but anything even mildly complicated he just doesn’t get. Fetching things he can do well. Delivering messages or asking him to do anything even remotely that difficult is an exercise in futility. He understands emotions well, enough even if he doesn’t quite get what caused them in the first place, and he is unfortunately easy to confuse. His will have to be very clear and precise when speaking to this blue. Perhaps relating to his low intelligence this blue is also not very wordy. In fact his vocabulary is likely to span not more than ten words. He simply has trouble in that area. Besides why should he speak when a croon, chrip or gesture serves the same purpose?
One thing this mandyr seems to adore and love above all else is firelizards. He is simply enamored with the creatures. Other draconics are noted, spoken to, and interacted with of course, with no prejudice to be noted. However it is firelizards that apparently hold his heart. He will immediately become boisterous and friendly around them in an attempt to converse and interact with his winged cousins. No will simply not be taken for an answer and it will not be uncommon for him to tail a firelizard he has taken a particular interest in. The blue will be a frequent participant in any firelizard flight from green to gold and his bonded can be expected to go along for the ride until they learn to block him out. Should he ever manage to catch a firelizard he will not remain faithful sadly. However he will still shower his beloveds with gifts and praise in an attempt to keep their favor. Should she pick another next flight he is non pulsed. Plenty of fish in the sea (or in this case sky) after all.
Quixote
Blue Firelizard
Name: Quixote (KEY-ho-tay)
Color: Blue
Age: 4 Turns (born March 3018)
Physical Appearance:
This boy is all legs and bones. He is small, probably only as large as the average green. Yet his body will easily be as long as his blue brothers, with a whippy tail that loves to dance about almost unbidden. His long neck and legs will be a constant bother, tripping him when he lands and making him seem quite clumsy. His wings are also long and narrow, but unlike his limbs, these will make him a skilled and acrobatic flyer. He will likely spend much of his time in the air, though he will have to work to keep his endurance strong.
In color, he is quite lovely. Most of his body is a soft, gently blue that is nearly purple to the eye. Small white speckles seem to make his hide sparkle in the right light, especially when he's flying. A large spot of even paler lilac color rests over his chest, with another over his head like a helmet. Overall, it makes him fairly handsome, if a touch feminine.
Personality:
They say those who rush into danger are either very brave or extremely stupid. This little blue is both. He strongly believes that he is the greatest hero that fire lizards have ever seen. A youngster fallen down a well? He is there! Monsters attacking the herd? He is there! However, will alone doesn't make a hero. He has no concept of just how small and ineffective he might be against his chosen foe of obstacle. He will usually end up causing more chaos or simply being funny instead of threatening. His bonded will probably have to spend a deal of time keeping him from putting himself in the thick of danger every other day.
Danger isn't the only thing on this hero's mind, though, oh no. After all, heroes are surrounded by their admirers. This spunky blue will flirt with almost any female he sees, of nearly any species. Fire lizard, salamandyr, avian, even dragons if he gets a chance. He is sure they can't resist his handsome body and male charm. Unfortunately, as with his attempted heroics, he'll probably come off as comical instead of endearing, but rejection will never darken his spirits or prevent him from trying again. The ladies simply don't realize what they're missing!
At the end of a long day of heroism, this blue will always have time to spare for his bonded. Of people, he will always help his person first and be there to defend them against anything from knives to bad food. Loyal to the end and always ready for a cuddle, he'll try his best to please his bonded any way he can. Even if he can't always succeed.
Cujo
Blue Firelizard
Name: Cujo
Color: Blue
Age: DECEASED
Physical Appearance:
Fairly small all around, this blue is best described as resembling a feline – the way he holds his body, low and slinking, the way he moves, with a dangerously predatory grace. With a fairly short neck and a blunt muzzle quick to peel back to reveal sharp teeth, the firelizard is actually found walking around much more than is typical for his species. However, in flight, he is certainly graceful as well – let there be no mistake; this is a firelizard very much in control of how his body looks and responds. His wings are long and narrow, the sails connecting to the top of a long, whiplash tail he has a habit of swishing around mindlessly.
‘Dark’ is perhaps the word most suited to the blue when it comes to his coloration. While his base coloring is not exceptionally deep, being a clear, clean shade of blue that has been overlapped by transparent black, the markings that lace up and down his body are. Deep purple-blue like the night sky drapes over his back like a cape, appearing in shimmering, gleaming mirages in the sail of his wings and actually speckled with the lighter blues of his hide like stars. Meanwhile, dark turquoise rims his mouth, smearing across his muzzle and dripping down to the line of his jaw and his neck.
Personality:
A very overprotective creature, is this blue. It’s rare that he showers affection on his Bonded, and indeed he will often be out of sight, but he will never be out of mind or, indeed, very far away at all. He sulks in the shadows and drifts in the cover of darkness, often visible only as gleaming pinpoints of eyes. His Bonded can rest assured that they will have a constant guardian, even if they won’t be able to make him out for the most part. However, when the blue does deign to join his Bonded, be it for meals or otherwise, it will become apparent that he’s very affectionate, but only to His.
Others that venture anywhere near His without express permission will be treated to quick, vicious little snaps at whatever the blue can reach, be it their fingers, ears, or even their nose. And this blue isn’t snapping with the intent of simply scaring; no, he snaps with the intent to bite and hurt. Do not poke. For his Bonded, it translates into gentle nibbles and licks, often at the lobe of their ear, proof indeed that this blue certainly can keep his teeth, as it were, in control, but…chooses not to. Indeed, he has a habit of mouthing at everything he can to make sure it’s safe – or simply because he wants to, like a teething toddler. Everything will eventually find its way into his mouth, if it will fit.
