Please? No. Pretty Please? Heck, No. Pretty Please, Mine? Heck, No, Trin. Pretty Please, Sky-Mine? I said, NO, Trin. Sk’ler glared at the Brown from where he was stretched out on his bed. Soltun was curled up beside the Brownrider whereas Joolree wasn’t in sight. Plea— “I said No< Triniath! You are not going anywhere near that STUPID Green!!” Sk’ler interrupted his Brown as he finally snapped. She is not stupid!! Triniath hissed furiously as he glared at his rider. The Brownrider flinched as he felt his Brown’s anger burning in the back of his mind. For about a sevenday, Triniath had been begging Sk’ler to allow him to visit Kalierre’s Green, Phremath, but the rider had refused to give his consent. In Sk’ler’s mind, Phremath was as good as gone as long as Trin never saw her, and he was beginning to despise both green and her rider because of Triniath’s persistence. “Have you seen Joolree?” Silence... Sk’ler sighed and scratched Soltun’s eye-ridges while he tried to get his mind back on his reading.
A curious chirp from above signaled Joolree’s return, and when the Brownrider looked up, he saw something shiny clutched in the sea-foam green flit’s claws. “Joolree!” He snarled as he scrambled onto his feet. “Drop it!” The Green chittered with what sounded like laughter as she turned tail and fled out of the weyr and down the hall. Without a second thought, the rider was running after the thieving creature. Back on his ledge, Triniath chuckled quietly as he watched his rider disappear after the fire-lizard. Reminding himself to find something to give to Joolree later, the Brown heaved himself to his feet and launched himself into the sky. His rider never learned that Chasing the Green around Selenitas would convince her to give him her newest treasure. Hopefully, the flit would keep His busy long enough for Triniath to find the lovely Phremath. As he soared over the Weyr, the Brown sent out his thoughts, searching for the familiar touch of Phremath’s mind. Phremath, are you at your weyr? Triniath asked respectfully as he continued to glide through the sky. Hopefully, she wouldn’t be angry at him for not seeing her at all since her Flight.

In fact, the young green was not at all at her weyr. She was playing in the standing pools not far from the edge of the river, just the other side of the treeline. Phremath often spent her time playing while Hers was busy in the infirmary, as she was right now. The green very much enjoyed trying to pounce the fish without squishing them, as she was doing now, though she had to be careful because her tail had whacked one or another of the trees a few times already. That kind of hurt, too. Nothing like a good solid whack to a hardwood to get things smarting. Not that she seemed to have learned much from the pain, as the green continued to do so on a regular basis.
She jumped slightly at the sound of the unexpected voice. Triniath? Phremath stood, one forelimb at the edge of the pool, the other poised in midair before her in pure comical fashion. It took her a moment to get her bearings again, but then she wriggled out from under the protective canopy of the trees and slid to a halt at the edge of the riverbank. I’m along the river, by the infirmary, she returned cheerfully. Part of her wanted to take to the air and meet him directly, but she’d have to find a thermal first, and that most likely meant going back into the jungle where he might miss her.
I haven’t seen you for a very long time! After meeting with Adith not long before, Phremath wasn’t quite so lonely, and the hurt that might have been in her voice earlier wasn’t there. You’ve been well?

When Phremath responded to his words, Triniath crooned happily. I will be there shortly. She did not sound angry at him which was very good, but what if she was waiting to speak to him face to face? The Brown shook his to rid himself of the negative thoughts as he turned to fly towards Phremath’s location. While he soared over the Weyr, Triniath checked on his rider and was satisfied to discover that Joolree still had him Chasing her, but it was obvious that the little flit was tiring. No matter. Triniath would be with Phremath before His finally managed to catch his pet and return to his weyr. You can do it, Little Cousin. He encouraged the Green privately as he finally caught sight of Phremath.
She was a beautiful Green with a dark jade hide and slender body. Why she would have even thought of choosing a dragon like him was beyond Triniath, and because of his rider, the Brown had not been able to visit her. He was undeserving of such a beauty, and his chances of Catching her again her probably very poor. His landing lacked its normal grace, but the Brown was busy concentrating on Phremath’s presence. Triniath stretched out his neck to gently nuzzle the Green’s neck. I know, and I am very sorry. Mine is completely against me visiting you. He crooned quietly as he lowered himself to the ground. I have been alright, but I was not happy being told I could not see you. Have you been well, dear Phremath? [My muse died near the end. >>]

Upon seeing her dark flightmate on approach, Phremath began to bounce lightly in place, just to be sure he saw her as near to the trees as she was. The green bounded toward him the moment he touched ground, her stunted wings kicking up a quiet hum as background to her joy. She returned his croon happily. Hers was right! Just be patient enough, and ill fortune was sure to turn, or so it seemed. In a relatively short amount of time, she'd been visited by both Adith and Triniath! Who could ask for more? She remembered the brown's pretty song, if nothing else, and, though he was larger company that she usually preferred to keep, he was a nice enough creature that she could not feel nervous around him.
Phremath looked down at the brown, surprised and pleased that he seemed to recognize how she sometimes got nervous around larger dragons and thus made himself less intimidating. Or maybe it was just coincidence? Honestly, it didn't matter much to her. She was simply grateful. That seems rather silly. Why would Yours not want you to talk to me? The green was genuinely confused at such an admission. Her neck lowered, the hum of her wings fading to intermittent flutters. Does he just not like me? I didn't mean to offend him, whatever I did! She looked to Triniath anxiously, hoping he would be able to help her get back in the good graces of His.
Not so poorly, though Mine and I can't fly drills - not that the Queen wing has had any. Why do they not drill? It seems strange. And it was really lonely for the longest time, other than the weyrbrats, but Adith came by the other night, and now you, Phremath concluded cheerfully. I'm so glad you chose to came by anyway. I've been wanting to ask you to teach me that song for the longest time. You will, won't you?
