So many people, Kevin thought in awe and horror. He had never been surrounded by so many people in his entire life. In his old home, he never even saw half as many people! Shoving his hands into his old jacket, he leaned against the wall, watching the activity in the hall. There were weyrbratts running around entertaining themselves, there were candidates like herself, staring at something pink hanging off of a wire of some type. On the other side of the weyr, there were riders sipping Klah, discussing the sweepriders.
Kevin's blue grey eyes flitted from person to person, place to place, taking in his surroundings. The new candidate was unperturbed to see that he towered over many around him; he was used to it. This was his new home, he thought as he adjusted his bag; careful not to damage any of the few precious items of his it contained. Running his hand through his brown hair, he reflected on the events that had recently transpired.
The events that had happened that caused him to leave home were still to embarrassing an painful to broach, so instead he thought about his parents. Hopefully they had received his note, and were not worrying about him. If they could see him now, Kevin thought wistfully. It had been months since he had saw them. The traders he had joined up had been kind enough, some of them, particularly Siera, were to kind and willing. Always trying to talk to him, following him everywhere, trying to corner him alone... He was glad to be rid of her...
He was fortunate, and he knew it. With a clutch on the sands, he had arrived just in tome for the hatching. Kevin didn't really expect to impress a dragonet in this clutch, though, he may not even be able to stand on the sands this time around. The prospect of seeing a hatching though... he rarely even got to see dragons in the sky! But how to get to the candidate barracks? That was the dilemma. Looking around the see of faces, Kevin looked for somebody who was not busy to ask.
