Dyudahlii was happy; now that she lived in the Weyrling Barracks, she had more room and was actually able to let her canines, Bawnii and Klaiid, join her once again. It had been hard for them to have to stay away. She had tried to bring them into the Candidate Barracks but they were unable to adjust to the life style there. But now, this new room looked more like home, or at least it could once she could find someone to help her gather more stuff from her old home so she could more properly decorate this place.
She was at least able to make Bawnii and Klaiid a nice bed of furs for them in one of the corners near her own bed.
Now she sat on the edge of her bed, her feline skull cap in her lap as she was meticulously cleaning it. Her brown firelizard, Qinaii, was curled up next to her, freshly oiled and completely content to just doze off. Today had been busy for him after all, he had insisted on helping Dyu move her stuff in anyway possible. She had appease him by letting him carry pieces of her "collection"
Bawnii and Klaiid too were sleeping, they had been more heavily burdened during the move, but not overly so, Dyu had been collecting more hides and bits from her trapping trips since she had been here, nothing too heavy or big, just a lot of little things bundled up in some of the larger furs she had brought back from her latest excursion back to her old home.
Dyumine, you spend too much time with that feline head. How is it more important than me? Nemmalorith lay curled up on the cool floor, shining brightly with a fresh coat of oil, watching Hers clean the feline skull headdress for the second time that sevendays. I have told you, it is not more important than you, my Nemma, but, my parents... Dyu was unable to even finish her thoughts as images of her parent flashed through her mind, both memories of when they were alive, and then the images of their broken and bloodied bodies after the feline attack had killed them. Nemmalorith shuddered from the dark images that passed through Dyu's mind. Dyudahlii shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts and to refocus on the lighter matters of life.Let us think of other things, like our new roommates. I forgot to ask who they are.
