]((If you know who that song is by, then yay!!))
Adrian let out a sigh of relief when they came out of Between. "Looks like you knew what you were doing after all then." She grinned. Of course I did. I always do. Her dragon huffed back. She'd had to rely on coordinates she'd received from another dragon and Adrian had trusted she wouldn't lose them Between. The small green hovered for a moment, the morning sun making her hide sparkle. The Weyr beneath them was a magnificent sight.
"Well... Let's land then, Rave. I'm sure the sight of a strange dragon suddenly in the sky is less than comforting to these people..." She said queitly. Ravenith nodded sullenly and began her descent. When they landed, the girl slid down her leg with ease and srveyed their surroundings. "What do you think?" Better than Fort, she said after a moment.

Fiona took a step back from her work, satisfied that she had cleaned the entirety of the floor to her satisfaction. She had been tasked with the slow process of sanding, sweeping, and mopping, and the floor was delightfully clean. It had taken her the better part of the afternoon, and Raiyth was stirring from a nap now, alerting the weyrling to the fact that she needed to get some food for the young green. Putting away her cleaning supplies, the young woman scooted toward the door to the landing platform, momentarily pausing when a streak of bronze zipped toward her from its perch on the other side of the hall.
Ego was more than a little flustered with his person. How dare she nearly forget him! Well, she was not going to forget him, but he had thought so! The young flit settled down on her shoulder with an imperious chirp, reminding her that he was too important to be left behind! He was rewarded with a scritch and a piece of meat, though the latter was more a bribe to hush up than anything. Whatever the case, it worked, and the bronze flitter was soon too busy nibbling on his treat to scold his humanpet for moving away so quickly.
With that minor crisis averted, the curly-haired weyrling opened the door of the main hall, intending to cross along the landing platform and make for the stairs, giggling at the ease with which her pet could be appeased. Her intentions came to a screeching halt at the sight of a green on the landing platform, an unfamiliar green at that. She paused, tilting her head to one side to regard the pair. They did not look threatening, but experience taught her to be slightly cautious. Still, she gave the pair a cheerful wave of welcome, even if she would not venture any closer to investigate. "Hello! Are you new to the weyr?" she inquired politely, looking over the two.

Both heads turned sharply at the sudden hello. Ravenith's eyes whirled slightly faster, slightly redder. "Easy, Rave. Don't cause problems here." Adrian murmured quietly. "Don't mind her. Old habits die hard. She's used to being on the defensive." She called out, striding over to the girl.
"Yes, we've just arrived." Adrian nodded. Ravenith scoffed in her head. It's rather obvious that we're new, isn't it? Hush.[/b] Adrian looked the girl over, noting her weyrling knots. It looed like she'd just caught her cleaning... "I'm Adrian, that brute is Ravenith."
She reached up and removed her Fort knots. "We wish to join this Weyr... and fight for it, should the war come here, but we do hope that won't happen."

The red in the dragon's eyes alerted Fiona to trouble, and she instinctively reached out to touch her own dragon's mind. When Raiyth reassured her that she was here and ready to defend, even from such a distance, the young woman was mildly settled. She had a protector, and despite this new green's obvious defensive behavior, she was not too afraid of trouble. The rider's words affirmed her first instinct, that the newcomers were not here to cause problems. No, they just wanted to come seek sanctuary, like so many of the other riders have.
"It's all right. There's another sort of new transfer of a green who likes to take a snap at people," Fiona said with a l one-shouldered shrug, careful to not disturb Ego, who was contentedly stuffing his face with the meat scrap. "Welcome! I think you have to check in .... in there," she said, gesturing over her shoulder at the building behind her. "Not sure, though. I never transferred! Anyway! I'm Fiona, of green Raiyth. This is Ego." She gave the newcomer a polite smile and pointed at the bronze flit on her shoulder. Ego was making a great show of ignoring these newcomers and just chowing down. Stupid fat idiots... always disturbing his eating!
War? Ohhh, yes. Fiona grimaced slightly at the memory. She was so very grateful to have never been in the middle of that. "I think you'll have to talk to the weyrwoman or weyrleader.... or one of the older riders in charge of transfers and such. I hope that the war doesn't come here much anymore. There has been so much death and fighting." As sensitive as she was to other's feelings, it hurt to see them in pain, and the weyrling wanted none of it, if she could help it.
