Marra's meal was a silent one. It was late into the night, enough so that most people would have retired to their little tree quarters or weyrs, but would not be asleep just yet. Marra, however, didn't really feel like following their sleep schedules. She would eat now, since most people chose not to eat at such a peculiar time- not many people would be here to bother her.
Except Robika.
"Hello, love!" Robika greeted the harper, beaming at the girl. Marra looked up with a raised eyebrow.
"Up a little late, aren't we?" Marra asked, slightly amused at how bouncy the greenrider was tonight. Robika seemed to be an early-to-sleep early-to-rise person. Robika rolled her brown eyes, settling down right next to Marra.
"Nah, I needed to discipline a couple candidates who are using Shmee's sick leave as a chance to fart around the Weyr- you know, breaking the celibacy rule," Robika informed the harper, who chuckled a little.
"What a stupid kind of rebellion," Marra replied, rolling her own eyes. "Of all the things they could do, they choose to do something they can't even flaunt... well, at least not to us," she added, but Robika was already snickering. They paused, which Marra used to nibble on some of her fruit. "So," she asked after a moment of chewing. "If you were only pushing hormone-driven boys away from unsuspecting candidate girls, what makes you so happy tonight?"
"Oh, Kmarath's started glowing," Robika replied with a grin. Marra smiled a little, a little happy for the woman. Maybe this time, Robika would find someone worth staying with.
"That's good," Marra replied, returning to her fruit. Perhaps Robika would take the hint now that she wanted to eat alone.
"You should get out more often, Mar," Robika suddenly declared, giving the harper a stern look. Marra frowned.
"Excuse me?" she asked in disbelief. Robika grinned wickedly.
"Take advantage of Kmarath's broadcasting at the Flight- find yourself someone and have a fun time!" the greenrider said encouragingly.
"Go away," Marra pleaded, her face tinging with pink. She hated talking about relationships like this- was it that casual for Robika? The greenrider in question smiled to herself, pleased she had tackled a vulnerable subject. Perhaps if Marra talked more about social things, the girl would be more carefree.

Ciara was eating at a nearby table when she heard Robika and the new Weyrharper talking about Green Flights. The new Weyrling stood and walked over, her smile friendly. "Hi, Robika. Who's your friend?" Ciara glanced at the Greenrider and her companion, hoping she wasn't intruding.

((HAHA You have wandered into the misfortune of RPing with me. >D Which means I may nit-pick at your posts a bit. For my first words of wisdom, I suggest typing more than like three sentences, and be more substantial in your posts. It will make you more literate and you will learn more big words that way. For example: What was she eating? How long has she been there? Why is she here at such a late hour? The possibilites are limitless! ^^ Also, don't be afraid to spend a long time typing posts! I can spend up to a half-hour on one post sometimes- even when I have no muse.
And NO USING QUICK REPLY. Just in case you were. ;D Quick reply is for the general boards only.))
Robika looked up brightly. "Hello, sweetie!" she replied, a smile lighting her slightly round face. "Congratulations on Impressing- Toryth, right?" she asked. She made a point to learn the names of her new fellow greenriders. Kmarath would help her drill it into her head until she managed to remember who got which dragon.
"Greens are so nice to have," she told Ciara, winking at Marra, who rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Kmarath is getting ready to Rise- it won't be long till you get to look forward to that," she added with a wink. She grinned, and gestured to Marra as Ciara asked for an introduction.
"This is Marra- a harper here. Help me convince her to find a lover!" she added, shoving Marra playfully. Marra turned pink again, looking as thought she would rather sink into the floor than deal with Robika's antics for too much longer.
"I was just leaving," Marra announced, starting to get up, but Robika pulled her victim back down.
"That's a lie. You haven't finished eating," the greenrider pointed out, gesturing to Marra's half-eaten meal of greens and fruit. Marra groaned. She was beat. Robika knew that Marra always ate everything on her plate, with no exceptions. Seeing she had no choice, she sat in her seat glumly. Robika would have to run out of energy soon, wouldn't she?

((-dies- I have been tricked! I never use quick reply!)) Ciara glanced at her feet as Robika called her sweetie. She was a Weyrling, not a Weyrbrat for goodness sake. Why was it that she always got called pets names? It drove Ciara insane! "Yes, I did Impress Green Toryth. Luckily she Hatched with no visible deformities." Ciara praised Gold Faranth that her beautiful Green had Hatched normal with the exception of her coloring of course.
Ciara blushed beet red as Robika mentioned Toryth Rising. She was way too young for that. Toryth was only a Hatchling and Ciara a Weyrling. Ever since the girl had come here, the Candidate master had drilled into their heads one main thing. No intimate relations until you are a full fledged Rider.
"Hello, Marra." The female Weyrling managed to give a weak smile to the Weyrharper. What had she gotten herself into? She should have stayed in bed instead of listening to her hungry stomach. It looked like Ciara and Marra would be up for the rest of the night listening to chatter-box Robika.
Ciara glanced at Robika has she mentioned helping her hook Marra up with someone. "You know I can't, Robika. I'm only a Weyrling. We aren't allowed to have any interaction with intimate relations. So you're on your own." The weyrling again thanked Faranth that she couldn't have relationships. Silencing herself, Ciara tried her luck with escaping the Rambling Greenrder. Ciara moved away from the group towards the shaodw, hopeful that she would not be spotted. ((Happy!?!?!?))

((xD Better in length!! Yay!! Now, for spell check and better punctuation... >D))
Unaware of how uncomfortable she had made Ciara by using the pet names she used with everyone, she didn't seem to notice as Ciara looked down. "Well," Robika went on, smiling, "I'm sure the deformed hatchlings will be just fine. They've lived this long, haven't they?" She paused. "It is good you've got a healthy beast there- this Weyr needs as many healthy dragons as it can hold," she added with a brisk nod.
Marra nodded absently, now busy trying to eat her food as quickly as she could. She was not one to talk about such... personal topics over dinner. Shard it- should she just start eating her meals at midnight now? Better yet, she would make her own meals- no one needed to visit her often, and she would be able to handle the situation better if she was back in her little apartment.
She paused in her inhaling of the food as Ciara nodded to her. Perhaps she should stay for her- she obviously didn't know Robika well enough to know that she made it her duty in life to bring the withdrawn out of their shells. Nodding curtly, she started eating at a slower pace. She could warn this girl later- once she finished, she could get her away and tell her about Robika's apparent mission in life.
Marra chuckled softly as Ciara declined to help. "I'm sure Robika wasn't serious," she said with quiet amusement- after all, she wasn't serious.... right?
"By Faranth I'm serious!" Robika stated indignantly. "Mark my words, Marra, I'll find someone for you yet!" Marra's eyes rolled once more- she hoped this was just because of the Flight she was being so 'helpful.'

Phremath had finally gotten to sleep. Kalierre didn't know what she was going to do with the lovely green hatchling. The dragonet was already working to try to fly...much to her rider's distress. The healer had to be very attentive as to where Phremath got off to. Why, just today she'd managed to claw her way up a tree and was in the process of jumping when Kalierre caught up to her. Though she tried to explain that none of the hatchlings were flying yet, and that it would take time, she wasn't entirely sure Phremath would listen. The green's acquiescence had been half-hearted at best.
Rubbing at her eyes wearily, the healer went to grab something to eat before she had to wake with the dawn and make her way back to the infirmary. How she was going to manage weyrling training and working with the other healers while the Master healer was gone, she didn't know.
Kalierre paused, mildly surprised to find three others here at this late hour, none of which looked very familiar to her. She vaguely remembered the girl who had stood on the sands with her...hadn't she Impressed that first green? As for the other two, it was anyone's guess, though one was a greenrider and the other a harper. The harper and weyrling seemed annoyed and uncomfortable. Kali glanced at the source, a slight grin coming to her features.
This ought to be a bit interesting.
Striding over to the small group - though not before she'd collected a hot plate - the healer flashed a sleepy smile about at the others. "So many out so late." Her gaze flicked to the greenrider, then moved to the other two faces. She sat down without asking. "I'm Kalierre, Phremath's." The woman wore her healer knots rather than the ones of a weyrling, if only because, at the moment, it was more important for people to recognize her as a journeyman since she was helping to run the infimary in the master's absence.
Her gaze roved over the crowd again, hand coming up to brush the blonde strands from her face. She looked like she hadn't slept well in days. Which she hadn't. Still, it didn't take away from the warmth in her face. "Have you kidnapped these poor girls, greenrider?" Kalierre questioned teasingly.

Ciara slumped into a nearby chair and thunked her head against the table. Why her? Why did she have to be stupid enough to fall into Robika match-making clutches? The Greenrider was a friendly person, but how could she go on like this? There must be an off switch somewhere. The weyrling glanced at Robika, looking for something that would shut the woman up for a long time. Sinking into her chair in resignation, Ciara mumbled to herself.
"Shards! No damn off-switch." The curse was a mere whisper and hopeful the woman didn't here her fellow companion's frustration. Ciara felt a small land in her lap. It was her teal-green flit Eryn. Stroking the creature's eye ridge, Ciara stared at the wall blankly. She was starting to get really tired. Maybe, just maybe, she could slide off her chair and crawl away.
Glancing back at Robika and her ever moving lips, the girl sighed. None of her ideas were working. This Greenrider had eyes like a hawk. If Ciara wasn't careful, the woman would try and hook her up too. The idea petrified the Green Weyrling to stone. If she got caught with any intimate relationship, Ciara would be dead wherry served on a platter to Shmee.
Eryn crooned slightly, shaking her Own away from disturbing thoughts. The flit had decided to fall asleep on Ciara this time. Just her luck. She now had a relationship-phobic Weyrharper beside her and they were both suffering from chatter-box Robika's rambling words. Her day couldn't get anymore fun then this, but it would get better because Candidate Skyler decided to enter the Kitchens for a late dinner. The boy wandered over and sat beside Marra and began eating. He was so in for it.

((Ciara, no one knows what an off-switch is because this is Pern, 'member? ;D))
Robika smiled brightly at Kalierre. She also remembered her name from her careful memorization of names. New weyrlings were so much fun... even if this woman did seem older than she. No matter- Robika had more experience than she did as a rider, even if not in years. "I'm Robika, of Kmarath," she introduced herself pleasantly. Gesturing to the harper, who was slowly turning more and more red, she added, "And this is Marra, harper."
Marra merely nodded, now shoving as many greens into her mouth as could fit to avoid talking. No longer caring about trying to make the other girl comfortable, she just wanted out before every ganged up on her in an attempt to get her to have a lover. She didn't want one, for the love of little green dragons!
At the word 'kidnap,' Robika burst into laughter. "Of course not. Marra looked lonely, so I joined her, then Ciara came over quite willingly. Can hardly count it as kidnapping," she told Kalierre merrily. "Right now, I'm trying to fix Marra up with someone- know anyone who's single and looking?"
Marra wanted to die, by the looks of it. Choking on a green that had gotten stuck in her throat, Robika slapped her back heartily. Breathing heavily as the piece got out, she shot a glare at Robika. If only she could escape somehow...
Fortunately for Ciara, Robika had no intention of setting the weyrling up- she knew as well as anyone that dragons could have side effects from relationships between weyrlings. She glanced over to Skyler, and clicked in disapproval as she saw he was a candidate- also forced into celibacy. But perhaps not as strictly...
"Hey, boy, do you like ladies much?" she asked innocently. Marra sank lower and lower into her seat. Faranth save her.

Kalierre let her gaze slide to Marra, nodding pleasantly to the harper. Her own personality was seldom overbearing. At least not in the way that Robika's seemed to be. She did, after all, earn her living by making sure people were as healthy and comfortable as possible. A glance at the girl, Ciara, showed that the other weyrling must be regretting her decision to come over. Robika couldn't be that bad, now could she?
The healer found it difficult to sit still while Marra started choking, but Robika had it covered, and she didn't need to hover over the other girl like a mother hen over her chick. That wouldn't likely be all that welcome. "No, no. I'm afraid not. The only Selenitas dragonrider I know well is a bronzerider, and he's not the sort for a casual fling."
She noticed Skyler at about the same time that Robika did. Kalierre actually laughed at the greenrider's comment, nearly choking on some food herself. "Goodness, Robika! Lay off the lad." Her eyes narrowed as she looked closer at the rider. Either Robika was usually very, very friendly, or her dragon was about to go into Flight. Kalierre had seen that particular change enough times to get fairly good at picking up on it. "Is Kmarath due to Rise soon?"
Phremath stirred in sleep, drawing the healer's mind to her, but then she settled again. Kalierre breathed a sigh of relief. Honestly, she couldn't leave her darling alone when awake for fear of what crazy plan the hatchling would try to implement next. Phremath was so eager to fly...The thought sobered Kali for a moment, but then she stoically let it go. They would deal with it. Overcome it. That was all they could do.
At that thought, she asked the assembled, "Do any of you have any ideas regarding helping a dragon to fly? I know they've made prosthetics for the crippled bronze..." She didn't mention the fact that she was certain Phremath would hurt herself if Kalierre didn't find a way to allow the green to fly. She was so very determined!

The two men who had occupied the corridor until this very moment, looked as if they were complete opposites. The man on the left was clad in entirely black, while his younger counterpart on the right had dressed in lighter end of the spectrum. Though it was apparent that the two dragonriders were related, or more obviously brothers, by the way their facial features resembled each other.
--
Sighing as he ran a hand through his Golden brown hair, F'rah looked over to his brother in slight annoyance as F'con began to regale him with embarrassing tails from their younger years. Kind brown eyes met the chilling blue one's of his older brother, causing the Weyrlingmaster to sigh once again. F'rah had inherited most of his mother's traits, while F'con had inherited his fathers, hence the fact that the both of them were different. Wincing slightly as F'con punched him playfully in the shoulder, F'rah turned his attention to the dining hall. Realizing that he and his kin were not the only ones in the hall, the Weyrlingmaster gave a kind smile to those who had arrived before them.
"F'con! By Farnath you sure seem happy to see me... but right now I'm sure you are as hungry as I am... since we haven't gotten anything to eat since you first arrived on my doorstep early this morning."
Almost pushing his brother toward the place where the food was served, F'rah once again smiled toward the others who had gathered to eat at this late hour.
---
Feeling himself being wheeled toward the food, F'con gave a crooked smile at the women who had congregated around a table. Lifting a gloved hand to his head, the bluerider ran it through his pitch black hair before spinning himself out of his Brother's grasp. The little squirt was being a pest like normal, one of the things F'con disliked about his brother, though it is normal for the youngest to be the most bothersome of the family. Since he had arrived at Selenitas, F'con had stuck around his brother and embarrassing him at every convenient point possible, which was only the beginning of the massive amount of payback that F'con owed his brother.
Collecting his food, the blue eyed man dragged his brown eyed brother over to an empty table that was situated close to the women. Boy did he like women....
