Buram was excited! The hatching had provided him with new weyrlings to talk to, and he was secretly happy that Erno hadn't impressed. If his only friend had left him standing in the sand, he would be sad, but that would pass he knee. He didn't like having bad thoughts about anyone, he thought, face twisted into a frown. Well, he didn't have to worry about it, thankfully. Erno hadn't impressed, and he still had his friend for a while, at least until the next impression.
At the moment, the boy was hanging out in the weyrbowl, looking out over the massive lake that stood in front of him. He was half waiting for anyone to come in to bathe their dragons. Perhaps they would let him help? The apprentice healer was still afraid of the mighty beasts, having had no real experience with them. If they let him help, or even let him watch, maybe that would cure the slight nagging fear he had? The boy was sure that was why he hadn't impressed at the hatching. The hatchlings had sensed his fear. It didn't matter to him that anyone in their right mind would be afraid of that hatching. There had been so much blood. Poor Casandra was still in the infirmary. She was getting better, yes, but it would take her a while to heal completely. He felt sorry for the girl. To be taken out of an impression like that before you even had a chance...at least none of the dragons had betweened. Yeah, M'kai had told them that could happen if a dragon's rider wasn't around. He might have been afraid of the little monsters, but he didn't very well want to see any of them die.
The idea sent a shiver down his spine. He had heard from some of the Burimyu weyrlings that a hatchling had betweened at that hatching. They said that it was sadder than seeing a human die in some cases. That wasn't something he really was anxious to see, but he was a healer. He wanted to work on dragons one day...he had to get over that and his fear of them. Ugh, it would just take some time, really...something that he never seemed to have enough of anymore.

Ready? Ready! Iwyrth leaped off the top most tier of the Weyrbowl, flying in low and fast she headed toward the lake with a purpose. Dipping down so she flew right above the water, the Green dragged her claws through the water sending up small sprays before wheeling up in a gentle spin. Flaring out her wings she called out joyously as she stopped mid air to hover above the deepest part of the lake. Stretching her neck out, Iwyrth kept herself as steady as possible as her Rider balanced on the balls of her feet, stood and then dove with a flip into the water. As soon as she was free of her Human, Iwyrth quickly flapped to the closest shore and deposited a small satchel of stuff on grassy outcropping. Flapping back to where she deposited Ithanna, the Green rumbled before diving in to the water herself. Sending a tidalwave of water over her Rider, who surfaced a few moments later laughing.
Paddling like a canine, the Green swam a circle around the young healer before heading toward the shallower water, swimming until her feet touched the ground and her head well above the water. Ithanna chuckled again as she struck out after her Dragon, managing to keep up with Iwyrth's rump the whole while. Sinking beneath the water, the Dragonrider swam until she needed more air, surfacing well past her lazy Dragon and close enough to the shore for her to begin walking herself. "Kitten! Where'd ya put the washing stuff?" There by the rocks. She waded onto the shore and jogged over to the satchel, shedding about a bucket of water in the process as she squeezed most of it out of her short hair. Shouldering the pack, Ithanna stopped for a second to plaster her wet hair back from her face and sweep it into a small runnertail. "Laverna! Enki! Where are you?"
Back to where her Dragon was laying in the water waiting, Ithanna deposited her stuff near the lakeline and dropped into a crouch, rummaging through it for the sweet sand and soap she would need. Although she practically fell backward when a bounding Blue blur leaped onto her chest throwing off her balance. "Enki! Hi honey." Not even a few seconds later a Green Firelizard landed in the warm sands with a yawn. "Oh there you are. Are you guys ready for your baths?" She got a chorus of positives in response. "Iwyrth first, then Lavi, then you Enki." Placing her Salamandyr on the pack, Ithanna got up and waded into the water with a yawn. Warm days equal lazy days, coldblooded creature that she was.
Minelove should be wary of big lakemonsters. I wish your head not to be cosumed by a ravenous gargantuan...

Before he knew what was happening, there was a dragon hovering above the water. Buram shied away a little. Though it was clearly a green, it was still much larger than him and could probably eat him in very nearly one bite if had been so inclined. Luckily, though, the dragon didn't eat him, and the candidate was entranced when he saw a woman standing on its neck. The dragon's rider no doubt. Before he could wonder that the woman was up to, she jumped, freefalling with a twist into the water below. The boy's eyes were wide with wonder and he crept out from his little corner in time to see the dragon flying towards the shore. With a little squeak, he dove for the shadows again, coming out only when the dragon was int the water and it was clear she wasn't going to eat him.
He debated showing himself to the pair. He wanted to learn some things about dragons, he even wanted to make friends, and this woman seemed perfectly friendly enough for him. So, at length, after she had retrieved her cleaning supplies, Buram emerged from his hiding spot, grin beaming on his face. " Hello there!" The boy yelled out, waving a hand at the woman. " I'm Buram!" The boy announced brightly.

Clipping a belt around her waist so she could hang the sweetsand in reach, Ithanna climbed onto one of Iwyrth's forelegs so she could reach the top of the Green's neck. She was about to apply the bar of soap to her hide when someone interupted them. Lifting her hand to shade her eyes, the Greenrider squinted before returning the boy's wave. "Hi. I'm Ithanna of Iwyrth. Oh and that Salamandyr over there is Enki, and the flitter is Laverna."" She wet her soap again and began to clean the dust and grime off of her dragon. "Is there something kitten and I can help ya with?" Casting a glance over her shoulder she gave Buram a smile. "You can come closer if you want, Iwyrth doesn't bite. She's as sweet as a kitten which, is why I call her that." The Greenrider stablized herself as her mindmate lowered her head to look at the other human.
(Sorry Zep, I know its a really short post, but honestly, IC Ithanna can't do much more than this...)
