Unlike the first time he'd swept into the infirmary to visit Eikane, Nautic no longer resembled a frantic whirlwind. In part, the Greenhandler felt responsible for all the injuries that the Class and his Weyrmate sustained. The Mine was his baby, his responsibility. It should have been perfectly supported in case of an earthquake, he'd overseen the woodcrafters himself! He had officially stalled all Mining operations until he and the other Miners could make sure each and every tunnel was once again safe to walk through. No gems would even be looked at until that happened. Quietly he bustled past the Healers on shift, they knew him already so they didn't bother to ask if he needed assistance, and headed straight toward the bed which his Whermaster laid in. His firelizard protested the sudden change in direction.
"Hi lovely, how are you doing today?" Nautic said upon reaching the bedside. "I brought you something, although I can't decide whether or not the Healers will be happy I brought it." Lifting the shoulder bag he carried onto the end of Eikane's bed, the Greenhandler pulled out an instrument case. "I didn't check which of your harps was in it, both of the cases look terribly similar to me. But either way, I thought you'd like to play if you got bored or what not. I also brought some paper and drawing stuff if you wanted to draw. I'll just leave it here just in case." He hung the bag with the drawing stuff and the harp case off of the frame work by Eikane's head. Meanwhile Tizzy jumped off of Nautic's shoulder and onto Eikane's stomach, landing as lightly as he could. Crooning, the Blue picked his way up the man's chest to lick his face before hopping off to curl up on the bed itself.
Sitting where there was room, well it was more like perching since Eikane was a big guy and the infirmary cots were smallish, the Greenhandler carefully bent over and kissed the Goldhandler on the forehead. "I know you said not to apologize, but I'm still sorry and I still feel somewhat responsible for this whole mess. But I'm determined to fuss over you until you get better because I love you." He grinned at his Weyrmate. "So just let me fuss, its what I do best." He absent mindedly began petting Tizzy when the Blue fluted at him, he'd lived with the Blue long enough to know exactly what the little male wanted. "Nautsk wanted to see you too, but as you know, the Healers keep saying no. So she sends her love."

Eikane had a rather dispassionate expression on his face as he lounged in his bed. They really ought to do something about how boring the infirmary was for those trapped there. Arms crossed behind his head, the Harper sighed down at the 'mandyr perched on his chest. "You're probably bored too, eh?" The blue gave no verbal response, merely settled a little more comfortably. The goldhandler wasn't entirely sure what to make of Nocturne when he was like this. Thankfully he didn't have to when the blue perked up and immediately scampered into the man's hair. Not-Men's comes. Other.
Eikane smiled at his weyrmate and tried not to be bothered by Nocturne's definition of Nautic. If it wasn't Dementia or Dmitri the blue tended to go into hiding, even though Nautic was just as important (if not moreso, in some ways) as his fellow Harper. Bah. "I'm gonna die of boredom in here," he responded with a grimace. "Thankfully I have you to be my saviour." Wanted to lean up and give Nautic a kiss for his thoughtfullness but Eikane knew that would only hurt his leg. The bumps and bruises wouldn't like him for it much either. To be honest, he hadn't paid a whole lot of attention to the Healer who'd told him what was wrong. Something about fractures and whatnot. It wasn't his hands so, surprisingly, he didn't care much.
"Hey there Tizzy," he said the the blue as he came to lick him. "Absinthe the Terror is absent?" He directed the question to both Nautic and the firelizard. A low growl sounded from the irritable gold curled up in the corner of the room when Hers asked after another female and Eikane clucked at her. "Oh hush, love, you know you're the only girl for me. I'm surprised but grateful that they let Eikask come in here so I won't push my luck asking for them to give Nautsk permission." Oh, there was his kiss, though only on the forehead. "By the way, sooo not your fault."

"I don't know. I think she's off somewhere managing her black market of booze." He rolled his eyes. For a drunkard, his Green was amazingly intelligent and manipulative when it came to alcohol and procuring it. When Eikask rumbled Nautic looked toward the Gold with a smile. "Sorry lovely, forgot to say hello to you as well." He'd grown fond of the huge female, especially since she and Nautsk now slept next to each other at night. His Green simply adored her clutchsister, which helped with some of Eikask's jealousy issues in the long run. Nautsk had worked hard to present herself as not a risk to the Gold, she even went as far as to not attach herself fully to one male or another. Leaving the market open for the Gold. (Although the Green secretly preferred Dmisk and Roisk over all the other males, she wouldn't make it known to the Gold if she could help it.)
"Haha, well I wasn't asking you to. Nautsk knows she can't always come with me everywhere. She'll probably shower you with happiness when the Healers let you come home though." Nautic crinkled his when Eikane denied that it was his fault, he knew better to get into arguments over small things that they didn't see eye to eye about. It wasn't like he was really upset about it, just, disappointed in himself. "Anyway, I've hijacked some of the other Wherhandlers to help me and the Mineworkers clear the rubble from the tunnels. We're almost done, but we're stalled up on getting some of the new support beams. They haven't arrived yet, so we've about gone as far as we can. Mining can start again soon."
Scooting up a little closer, the Greenhandler put a hand on Eikane's chest before looking back at the injured leg. Sighing, he switched his gaze back. This time, when he leaned forward, his mouth found his Weyrmates. It took him a minute before he was willing to pull away, though when he did he did so reluctantly. Flipping his bangs away from his eyes, Nautic smiled again. "I'm just glad you're okay. I probably would have gone crazy with worry if you'd gotten hurt worse than you did." He paused. "Plus it feels weird not sleeping next to you, so don't you get hurt again mister, or I'll... I don't know. Do something." His attempts to make the last line serious just made it more obvious that it was in fact, said in jest.
Tizzy who had been momentarily forgotten, chirped up at Eikane's head. Had he seen someone in the largeman's hair. Oh yes, yes he did. He chittered. "Nktturrr!" Putting his paws on the pillow, the Blue whistled at Nocturne.

Eikane chuckled at the black market comment. Indeed, that salamandyr was crazy good at wheedling alcohol out from just about anyone. He'd never openly admit it but he'd been conned once or twice into it too. The gold grumbled again at Nautic's greeting though Eikane hoped his smile would reveal the fact that Eikask was only grumbling for the sake of it. Not to mention grumbling seemed to get her attention. Not that she really begrudged Eikane his fair share of attention but...
The mention of home brought forth a wistful groan. "Oh home, how I miss it. I'll be all too happy to return to our apartment when they let me go," he said. Although he was already sure Nautic knew he was bored int the infirmary he also wanted to stress that he wanted to be home, andn ot just because home wasn't boring. Well, not that he was entirely sure it needed to be in words for his weyrmate to understand. He gave his Whermaster Nod when Nautic informed him of the status of the mines. "Thank you. Be careful."
Nautic's glance at his leg was met with a weak smile when he looked back at his face. It was a bit...limiting, wasn't it? Not that there was a whole lot Eikane would be willing to do in a busy infirmary.Eikane was usually a little more active when it came to activities but he was forced to simply lay back and be receptive when Nautic kissed him. The result was a slightly sweeter than desparate kiss and he supposed that was okay. He could express his fear of never seeing Nautic again at another time. He reached up with a hand to help brush the bangs out of his lover's face and he smiled.
"I'll be careful, I promise. I rather like my place in our bed," he commented with a slight chuckle though his eyes were serious. Eikane felt his hair shift slightly as Nocturne was discovered. The blue hissed slightly at Tizzy and raised his frill in warning. Nocturne was not a friendly 'mandyr by any stretch of the imagination.

"Good." A pause. "Alright you two that's enough." Picking up Tizzy, who had pulled back and framed his head with his wings (his version of a frill since he didn't have one), Nautic put him on his lap with a 'tsk'. "One day you two need to learn to get along. I swear, its like having children." It was sometimes difficult to have a Firelizard who believed he was a mandyr, Nautic often had to get him out of trouble. Gently bopping the Blue on his nose, Nautic dug a small child's puzzle out of his pocket and gave it to him to play with. The small cube came apart if you pushed and pulled the pieces, Tizzy enjoyed trying to figure them out. Even though he hardly ever managed to take one apart, it entertained him for hours so it was a perfect distraction.
"Let's see... what gossip have you missed since you've been gone." Rubbing his chin, Nautic thought about it for a moment. "Oh, apparently Hinsero likes a girl. They went camping. Couldn't figure out her name but sooomeone thinks its a Dragonrider. Zemaren is looking downtrodden, people think its because he was rejected, I think its because he can't finish one of his songs. Yosk is going to Run and I'm pretty sure Nautsk is trying to convince every male to try and chase her. Demi is going through drama, nothing new there... um... hmm..." Piden was sleeping around again, but Nautic didn't think that was news worthy. That man /always/ did that. "Well I just can't think of anything else right now. The Wher apartments are surprisingly quiet this time around. You haven't missed much."
"Oh you know that bulb I tried to grow in the summer? Well its finally sprouted. It has the worst timing ever! Its winter, its supposed to be dormant in the winter. I swear. Its probably going to die now and I'll have to get a whole new bulb." Nautic gestured as he continued to talk about a few everyday things. Riker, Mouse, cleaning their apartment, helping the Wherlings. Things they would normally talk about after each of them went home after a long night of working. For Nautic, it had become some kind of ritual, and now that Eikane wasn't there to take part in it... he missed it dearly. He loved talking with (more than naught, chattering to) the Goldhandler, it was comforting and enjoyable. Perhaps it was less talking and more spending quality time with Eikane, they really didn't get to see each other during the night, except in the time span between dinner and in morning before Nautic went to work. So it was nice to catch any time he could alone with his Weyrmate.
"... and I'm hoping they still choose to work in the Mines even after what happened in there." Tucking the ends of most of his bangs back behind his ear, Nautic shifted around a little before smiling. He glanced at Eikask and gave a little sigh. "Its hard to believe we were once Wherlings. Remember when you and Demi thought my pink scarf was extraordinarily silly? I do." He paused. "They've grown so much. My... how long has it been? Three turns now? Which means we've been together for two." Nautic grinned and flicked the tip of his nose with his thumb before winking. "And I hope many more to come at that."
