She felt like being the center of attention, therefore, she picked the highest point in the entire Weyr to sunbathe. Her hide had picked up a glittery shine, the unmistakable warning sign that all female dragons produce when a flight is eminent. It looked as though she would be the Senior Queen after all, even if she wasn't going to Rise first, it wasn't likely that she'd let the little pipsqueak Gold usurp her in power without a fight. It was her right after all! She was older, stronger and wiser! So what if she wasn't Selenitas born and bred?! Huffing in agitation, Millieth spread her wings with a sharp movement. She was not about to let the mere thought of the younger gold to ruin her day! No. She would have a good day, filled with relaxation and peace.
Refolding her wings along her back, the Queen yawned and withdrew into herself. Rukbat's rays spread a warmth across her hide that seemed to melt her irritation away the longer she concentrated on how good it felt. And it was inevitable that her contented rumble would be heard by at least one Dragon in the canyon below, it wasn't just a vocalization of pleasure, but a subtle call that only the most aware males would pick up. If any male wanted to visit with her today, this would be the best time to come and call. Not only was she content, but she knew that her Rider was completely safe as long as she stayed close by.

It was sunny, but the wind held a chill to it, a cold front that hinted at the possibility of rain. It didn't stop Kaegan from wearing summer dress however, she had grown up in a much colder climate that which the Southern Continent had yet to experience. It was an odd sort of weather, but the Goldrider didn't mind. Besides she had her Large Firelizard draped around her neck, he was like a scarf, only softer and livelier.
Fortunately, Millieth had informed her a good while before hand of her plans to escape to the Drumheights, allowing her to put a lunch basket together. Although as she found out, some of the workers in the kitchen thought she was too skinny, stuffing her basket with more food than necessary before returning it to her. It was like the staff believed that she could put on weight in one sitting. She would somehow have to get rid of the excess food without wasting it, a daunting task to be sure. Maybe she'd drop it off in the Creche around snack time, saving the Creche workers a trip to the kitchen... sighing, Kaegan gently woke up her Firelizard, but let her hiding mandyr continue to sleep. It was better to feed the two at seperate times, they would fight over scraps otherwise.
Watching as Azaran scampered onto the blanket, the Goldrider opened the top of the basket and began rooting around for a meat roll. The best part about having her Queen on watchduty, was that Kaegan would know exactly when someone arrived... she wasn't that far off from Millieth, and she was definately in sight.
