Meagen had been bored, and when she was bored that lead to problems. She had been bored for awhile, and Dia had tried to help but it was useless. The girl was restless in a Hold, she just wanted to be back in a Weyr. There were a scat few moments that she had almost wished she was back at Benden. At least then she had something to really do. Albeit it was chores and keeping out of the Riders beds, but it was something to do!
Meagen sighed as she pulled herself down the hall, she was more then just bored today. She stopped off in the kitchens to get something to eat, and heard something remarkable. There was a searchrider around! Wonderful! She could get outta this sharding place! She snatched the food she was going to eat, and then went back to her quarters to pack up her stuff. It took her a bit to track a few of her things down, but she found them all.
Once this was done, the young woman started to search for the Rider. She needed to find the Rider, and the Rider's Dragon was what she needed. She needed them to get outta here. She had all the qualities needed to be a candidate, heck she had been one for many a turn. She needed to get to the Weyr again, and this was the best way she possibly could. When she got there, oh Cry and Mik were going to be in so much trouble.
She wandered into the courtyard, the more likely of places for the Rider to be. It would be wonderful if she could get this taken care of, before the night was over with.

He hissed loudly at the young human who would not accept that he was not eligible for impression, slapping his whip like tail down in front of him with a sharp crack. Hokth was tired of listening to him whine to His, and if he was agitated, His was sure to be as well. In the way of annoying and persistent people, they shared a light hatred. Retracting his lips over his teeth as he watched the boy's swift escape from them, the Blue shifted his position to reveal his Rider to the others once more, the small shinney, purple specks on his hide making him glint in the sun. /There is no one here, let us go./ I thought you said you felt someone in the Hold. /I did. But they are not here in the Courtyard. I do not wish to wait for them any longer. We have looked. Lets go./ Give it a few more minutes. Not everyone can get up and leave their duties. But I agree. I am quickly tiring of waiting. /For you Raimine./
Crossing her arms, Saraina let herself fall backward onto her Dragon's side, balancing on her heels as she rested. Using the excuse of being a Searchrider, the Bluerider openly wore her weapons on her belt. She wanted to decrease her chance of falling to an ambush, one could never be to careful with a war going on. Especially when you belonged to a Weyr that had recently been dragged kicking and screaming into the middle of it. There was a down side to wearing her weapons, it made her look rather unapproachable. It didn't help that her Dragon was rather malicious, nor did it help that she habitually wore a cold scowl. All of that coupled with her black outfit and short cropped hair made the less courageous people tentative in approaching her.
Pushing off Hokth, Sara tapped him twice on his side, leaping up onto his leg as he lowered himself to the ground. Lets go. She smiled lopsidedly as he growled in approval, he was more than ready to leave this place. If whomever Hokth sensed didn't want to show, then let them stay in the Hold. It wasn't like they could damage Blossom's view of the Weyr, seeing as the Holdfolk were pretty much in love with it. Strapping her flight leathers in to the harness, the Bluerider nudged her Dragon with her mind, letting him know she was ready. They had no more taken a few strides when Hokth stopped, his head swinging to one of the Courtyard's entrances. What? /I sense someone./ Is it the person that you felt before? /No. The other was slightly stronger and much different./
Rotating in her seat, Saraina put a hand to her hip with a sigh. All that work of getting up into her seat, only to have to get down again. This person had better want to go. Unclipping the safety straps, the Bluerider leaned forward and swung her leg over his back, dismounting as if she had been on a Runner. It took her only a moment to get down, the action having become second nature after three or so years of preforming it. /There. The one with Brown hair./ Oh yes, that doesn't describe about half of the people milling about that entrance. She knew of course which brownhead he was talking about, since she was the only one who seemed to be looking for someone. Saraina just liked to tease her Bonded from time to time. /Oh, very funny. Haha./
Turning to get a better look at the girl, the Bluerider shrugged very lightly. One good thing about Blossom, was that they tended to turn out strong candidates. Be it mentally or physically. And this girl didn't look like much of a push over, which was good. Stepping quietly around her Dragon to stand near his head, Saraina flung her arm over his nose and used his head to support her body, leaning against him once more. Goodness she was bored, better speed up the process so she could get back to patrolling the Holds. "Oi, you. Yeah, you with the bangs. Come over 'ere."

Meagen saw the large blue, and it's bit of a temper. Stupid boy for not taking no as an answer. She rolled her eyes a moment and walked towards the Rider and Dragon. Then the Rider came into full view, had Meagen not grown in up in a Weyr the appearance might have frightened her. Instead it made her feel more cheerful, because those that knew how to fight could see determination in others. She went to the Rider as she called, and stood in a polite position. But she made it known by her position that there was more to her then meets the eye.
"Yes Rider, mam?" She said in a respectful tone. Her hands folded lightly in the small of her back, her body looking relaxed. But there was a slight tenseness to her muscles that spoke volumes about what the girl could and couldn't do. She cocked her head to the side and looked towards the blue. Perfect, she would finally get back to a Weyr situation. "Is there something you need? Am I what you are looking for?" She asked in a soft voice. She was being not as forward as she could be, but you never show all your cards all at once.
She grinned brightly and then looked towards the dragon. "Your blue is magnificent." Of course to her, all dragons where wonderful and magnificent. But the blue was special, he was bringing her to where she belonged. Then she would get those sharding males, she would torment them and torture them and... hold them and hug them and cry on them. Shards, she was messed up.

There was something in the way the girl phrased her response that irked the Bluerider, making her push off of her Dragon's head and cross her arms. Then again, it wasn't uncommon for her to dislike just about anyone the first time they meet. "More like malignant." She muttered. Stepping forward, Saraina moved away from Hokth to slowly circle the young woman, her movements reverting into the quiet pacing that she was known for. She wasn't scrutinizing the girl persay... it was more along the lines of observance. The Bluerider needed only one pass to collect what she needed from the stance and position of the girl. Observation was a key skill she had been lucky enough to fully develop earlier on in her life. The girl was young, maybe a year or two younger than herself at the most, and was fit but not entirely in the traditional sense. Her stance was alert despite the relaxed recline her body (or rather any person's body) formed. And the pack she had was rather suspicious...
Rubbing the side of her nose, Saraina turned to look at Hokth, making it obvious she was speaking with him. Are you sure? /She has it. I can feel it clearly. Look at it this way Mine, at least she's not a scrawny stick that I can pick my teeth with./ True. Glancing backward at the girl, the Bluerider sighed. Being slightly anti-social by her own choosing, she didn't much like dealing with people. At least she was going to get paid extra this month for bringing the girl back with her. She rather liked money, now that she had saved enough to lavish attention on her blades like she had never been able to before. Turning back around to the soon to be Candidate, the Bluerider proffered a gloved hand to the woman. "Searchrider Saraina of Hokth, I am a Representative of Selenitas Weyr." She hated having to do that. "My Dragon says you've got what it takes to be a Candidate. Do you accept the invitation that is being offered at this time?" Farnath she really hated this portion. Often, she wanted to just simply say: 'You. You're Candidate material. Either come with me or rot.' But then again she was more brash and would probably scare more people away than gain them. And to her, every possible Candidate lost was a pretty mark lost as well. Ew. Being polite.
/I can always eat her for you Rainmine./ He pulled his lips back with a rumble, narrowing his eyelids slightly as he turned his gaze upon the Human female. /She'd only be a snack though, not enough to even be a mouthful... but food is food./ Oh stop it. She let a small smile slip across her face, her Blue being the only one who could elicit such a response constantly from her. A moment passed before she felt Hokth back off and direct his attention elsewhere, now that the possibility of messing with the candidate had gone and passed. He really was a bully.

"Malignant or not mam, he is still a handsome dragon." She chimed in a respectful tone. It was the dead truth, to the girl. She watched the Rider intently as she began to circle. Meagen knew what the Rider was doing, she had done it herself on occasion. It was also a scare tactic, to those that didn't understand these kinds of things. Some Holders didn't quite understand the concept of truly sizing someone up. Her eyes closed as she let her muscles relax a little more, but still on the ready. Never knew when someone was going to test you, that was what life had taught her.
When the Rider began her little speech, Meagen's back straightened. Her eyes focused straight on the Rider, the excitement mounting in her eyes. Yes, yes! This was just what she had wanted. Dragons not Dolphins, Weyr not Hold. She nodded softly as she smiled softly. Doing her best not to smirk. "I accept this offer, wholly and of my own violation. I want nothing more then to live my life with dragons." The girl said in as clear and firm of a tone as she could. She would not allow her excitement to get the better of her, her or her situation.
She took a deep breath, and smiled at the dragons rumbling. She knew he wouldn't really eat her, too much of a risk. What if she did have a dragon to be out there, and he ate her... Her dragon would have no partner. Her dragon, oh gods she couldn't wait for that! To have a dragon of her own. That would be such a wonderful experience, wonderful indeed.
