It was only a few hours after they had finally succumbed to exhaustion that Ten awoke on her back (rather than her side as she was used to), squinting in the darkness. She had expected light - either residual light of the day fading into evening, or the clean light of early morning... or at least some glows. No such luck. Even the moons seemed absent tonight, just the stars gilding the two enormous lumps that blocked the ledge (and whatever illumination there was).
Rajnith stirred herself when her Rider awoke, opening one whirling eye green enough to match her hide and chuckling lightly as Ten drew her eyebrows together and tried to lift a hand to her head. The girl was sore everywhere, her tongue felt like it was glued to the roof of her mouth, she had a killer headache, and her right shoulder throbbed painfully right along with the beat of her heart. Something heavy constricted her breathing, and for a moment Ten thought something might really be wrong... but as her eyes adjusted, she identified an arm. Huh. Rajnith?
Yes, TenlieLove? I am here, with Kierjaarth. The Green's mindvoice dripped contentment, and she adjusted, curling closer to the bronze who shared the ledge. Ten's eyebrows pulled together again - there had been a flight, yes, Kierjaarth had won, clearly, but something about the end of the flight seemed wrong, somehow. Some confusion. The whole thing was fuzzy, but... Ekarth. She remembered enough to know that the blue had caused problems. A stab of ice flashed down her spine - was it not Mi'rah, but Ekarth's unknown rider with his arm slung across her in sleep?
A second stab - was it any better if it was Mi'rah?
Unable to resist her curiosity any longer, Ten slid out of bed, stifling a groan as muscles she didn't even know she had protested. She tried not to disturb her partner as she went, but frozen muscles restricted her stealth. Suddenly aware of her nakedness, she wrapped a discarded blanket under her arms, discovering something on the lower half of her face and the upper part of her chest that itched, and flaked off when she scratched at it. She stumbled around the room until she found the glowbasket, nearly knocking it over when she reached it, but in moments she had it unshielded. Squinting again as the dim light hit her eyes, she examined her partner; Mi'rah. She recognized his build and his hair, even if she couldn't see his face clearly. Ten let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, still not clear on whether this was good or bad. There was something staining the pillow, too, the same color as the flakes from her face, something reddish black... Blood, love. Dried blood. Kierjaarth's hit his nose on Ekarths, it leaked quite badly.
Oh good.

Owwwwwwwwie. Everything hurt. This was no exaggeration either, and he was easily woken by the shift of the mattress under him, but that didn't mean he was getting up. He wasn't all too sure that he could get up even if he wanted to when his head was a heavy anchor sunk into the bloodied up pillow under him. Instead he vaguely whimpered and closed his eyes again as he exhaled; the rush of air through his crooked nose left a whistling sound followed by coughing as he subconsciously reminded himself that breathing just couldn't work that way right now. As if he was just going to sleep this all off, as if he even had a clue as to what was wrong with him or why exactly he was there.
Hmmmm. Wait.
The smoke in his mind started to clear and peeling open his lids again he let his blues adjust to the dim glow light. Investigated the room they did, and with it's sparse decorations and minimal amenities he was quickly able to discern the fact that yes he was in a flightroom, and more importantly he was in a flightroom with....with... He squinted through the pain - oh even his eyeballs seemed to hurt at the moment - and made out his blanket clad company as being Tenlie, a fact that would have mortified him has he had the energy to express an emotion other than complete misery. Besides, his dragon seemed all too satisfied with the outcome, and the rider sensed Kierjaarth on the ledge and stretching a tired wing over Rajnith's body.
And in tiny pieces things began to come back together. The presents he remembered now, he actually stole from his salamandyr of all things so that he could have one for the flight...and then of course there was Ekarth. Oh goodness... he flicked his eyes back up at the greenrider, and struggled for a moment to prop his upper half up for a closer look, "Tenlie?" He was just making sure should she be nothing more than some fellis dream before noticing the dried blood flaking on his face and initially assuming it to be her own.
"Are you ok?" He reached up to scratch at his own face before realizing the source was actually his own nose. The question still stood though because after all, the term morning after usually referred to the fact that you indeed usually woke up in the morning and not in the middle of the night. Add into this the fact that it was the poor girl's maiden flight, and the bronzerider couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. Even though emotional pain was the last thing he needed on top of his physical maladies.

Ten looked around when Mi'rah coughed, her slightly pinched and stressed expression relaxing into a sympathetic smile. Poor guy - even if he wasn't as sore as she was, that was a lot of blood that had come out of his nose. That couldn't be good for anyone. Honestly, she was mostly glad she'd gotten any reaction from him at all. She wasn't queasy around injuries, and she hadn't exactly been worried, but... well. Again, so much blood.
Scratching at her cheek again - her left one, the right one was stinging like a skinned knee - an idea occured to her. There wasn't a bathing room convenient, but she might be able to track down a pitcher of water, at the very least. One glance at her shirt proved that clothes were a lost cause, as it had been torn nearly in half, not to mention that she didn't see her breastband anywhere. Well, she had no idea how late it was, so she'd just have to see what she could do in a sheet.
She hadn't made it to the door, though, when Mi'rah struggled upright and squinted in her direction. Smiling gently, she corrected, "Ten, you do know that by now." The question about her wellbeing was met with a grimace rather than a smile, however. "I hurt in places I did no know I had, I'm all scraped up on my right side, and there do be something wrong with my shoulder - but the blood do be yours. As for the rest," was there a rest? "I do be fine." Mi'rah had to be worse off than she was, so she wasn't about to worry him with questions about what had happened, there at the end. Had Mi'rah almost strangled someone? Why did she have that image in her mind? "I'm going to see if I can no find some water, so we can get you cleaned up."
As soon as Ten got outside, she realized that someone had anticipated their needs. Whether it was a flight participant who had seen what happened or simply a drudge doing their mandated duty, Ten didn't know, but just outside the door were two skins and two glasses. Carefully tucking the sheet under her arms again, she retrieved the offerings and headed back inside. On her way over to the bed, she took a sip of one, expecting water. "Pah!" What was that? Ten made a face, squeezing a little out into a glass to hold it up to what light there was. "Wine," she concluded, color rising to her cheeks. What did the mystery benefactor think they needed wine for?
The other skin did indeed prove to be water, though, and Ten's shirt made an acceptable swab. Perching on the corner of the bed, she leaned across, dabbing very gently at the bronzerider's face. "And you? Rajnith says you did hit your nose, and honestly, well, it do look broken. Anything else?" Trust Ten to shove all her feelings to the side to care for someone else, even now.

"Ten." It was an echo, him saying the preferred nickname out loud to remind himself to not make the mistake again. He couldn't call her Tenlie, she didn't like it despite all of his silent insistence that it was pretty, but he was smart enough to know he had to just let it go and apologize for the error, "I really meant to say Ten I promise..." Guilty as charged, though, and he hung his head just a little, not a bit of the shame melting off as she gave a laundry list of her maladies. Sore was to be expected, everyone gets sore - probably - but scrapes? Her shoulder? He didn't seem to care about his nose when the thought that he might have done that was bothering him.
But she had left for supplies and he hadn't a moment to even protest or move to accompany her. Instead he turned the soiled pillow over and fluffed it up and laid back down, with his eyes to the ceiling. As tired as he was, he felt assured that he was at no risk of drifting back to sleep....no...not when he was so concerned with remembering exactly what all had happened during the flight. Told you Mi'dope. Ekarth was being a miscreant. Luckily /I/ had everything under control. I'd hate to think of all the stuttering should I left it to you... I have a feeling that I wouldn't have had a pair of black eyes either. Ohhhh but imagine how Rajnith's would have felt should you have done nothing.
True enough, maybe trying to strangle another man with a woman's fashion accessory was justified this one time, but shuffling stirred him from these thoughts and he pulled himself back up along with the covers he used to modestly cover himself. She certainly returned quicker than he had anticipated, and really he was curious as to how she was able to conjure up any water so quickly, although he would never ask. No, he just waited, graciously leaning in towards the greenrider so that she may wipe off the dried blood.
He didn't particularly like the diagnosis. He knew that his nose did feel broken, but he had been hoping that at least it didn't look broken. It seemed that fate had a way of picking at his best attributes. He was made tall, but not dark nor mysterious. Even if he was slowed by his physique he at least had long legs but at least one of those now were ruined. But now it was his face, his face was never an issue, it was for all his experience at least youthful looking, attractive maybe even, but now he was certain that with this injury he was ruined. An over-reaction? Of course, but at least he was good at hiding his inward panic, and focused instead on replying to Ten, "No, just...just my face. S-sore too, but that goes without saying," he paused for a second only to notice the scrapes on her face, "I think you need to be attended to as well.." he reached forward hesitantly. He knew that touching the little scratches would hurt, duh, but he wondered about her shoulder, "Does your shoulder hurt to the touch or...." not that it would make much of a difference, the rider's expertise was not healing, but he did wish to help her really.

Rajnith seemed to have some sort of sixth sense for when people were talking about her, even if there was absolutely no way for her to have overheard the Bronze. Snuggling even tighter under his wing, the pudgy little green - totally dwarfed by Kierjaarth's sheer mass - stretched her neck so she could nuzzle under his chin. And how are you this fine... nighttime, Kierjaarth? she asked, her mindvoice still fairly drowsy. In fact, even a dainty forepaw couldn't stifle the yawn that followed her statement. Kierjaarth was just so big, and warm, and comfortable...
"Someone did leave it for us, I guess," she explained when she noticed Mi'rah's too-polite supression of curiousity. "Water, and wine, if you'd like some?" she added, a little hesitant this time. "Maybe it'll help, if you're still hurting?" Actually, now that she thought about it, that didn't sound like a bad idea. Her shoulder wasn't feeling any better, but she also didn't want to walk all the way to the infirmary wrapped in a sheet. Rajnith would take her back to her weyr tomorrow, and she could change before she got her arm checked out. Ten, however, was not about to be the one to start drinking. That was something she did infrequently and uncomfortably, and mainly in the kind of social situation that demanded it. This was not such a situation.
Instead, she focused on not pressing too hard on the skin around Mi'rah's nose, which had swelled and bruised long ago. Most of the blood was gone, now, at least on his chin, and she didn't really want to touch the nose for fear of making it worse. The rest was on his neck, and as silly as it seemed to be shy now, that seemed almost too intimate. So she paused, nodding at his own self-diagnosis, trying to decide if she should just go for it, or let him take care of his own neck... Lost in her thoughts, she didn't quite realize he was reaching for her scrapes and not her face, and tilted her head into his hand in unconcious imitation of Rajnith's own nuzzle for Kierjaarth.
The stinging of the scrapes brought her back, though, and she pulled her face away, trying to pay attention to what Mi'rah was saying instead. Her shoulder, of course. "It aches, for certain," she assessed, crossing her left arm over her chest to hold the sheet in place so she could stretch the right towards him, meeting no reisitance. It wasn't until she cirled her arm back at all that she gasped. "Touch should be fine - I do think I pulled a muscle, is all," she concluded, one finger of her left hand prodding at the muscle that joined shoulder to chest. "And that... do be the one. Ouch." Sliding a little further onto the bed so she was no longer perched just about as far away from Mi'rah as possible (she was slowly losing the battle against the urge to cuddle), she leaned back against the pillows, closing her eyes and enjoying the comfort. Snuggling in deeper (pillows, not Mi'rah, pillows to snuggle), she sighed, "But if you think I do need attending, you'll just have to..." A slightly wicked grin, an eye squinted in his direction, "Do it yourself." Apparently Rajnith still had a bit of a hold on her rider, after all.

The bronze was very content where he was and if it was any decision of his, he was not planning on leaving the ledge for anything short of Thread falling and took great delight in the green nuzzling right under the chin. That was such a neglected place, even his did not pay it enough attention when bathing or oiling him. A fact that he was sure to drive home to Mi'rah... but only later after attending to his green queen. Why ever would he want to chase a gold and wake up to a lump that would be the same size? Or worse: larger than he. He didn't want to be the little dragon spoon, his pride dictated that much, and probably explained exactly why he never was bothered by delusions of being a weyrleader. Crooning he replied Never been better Rajjjnith... and you? He made sure to drag out her name into something exotic and exquisite.
The wine would be helpful if maybe laced with fellis in it. As it was he didn't really find the idea of drinking all too appealing. Maybe it was the circumstances...weren't you supposed to drink with other people? Wasn't the connotation of libations in bed a little much? "Tonight I will pass on the wine I suppose. Water please...thank you..." but then...he was distracted. All of a sudden he didn't care all too much about water as he saw her pause with the rag and his eyes flicked up to meet with hers. Sharding Kierjaarth.... he knew that he was much too pleased about the girl leaning into his hand to be out from under the flight spell.
As Tenlie sunk into the pillows he tried his best not to give in and just follow suit. A hand reached down to pick up the wet rag that was left behind and began to take care of the dried blood on his neck, and periodically looking around the room at anything but the mostly naked woman in bed with him. He didn't win this battle though, and her siren voice called his attention back so that he could succumb to his doom and crash against craggy rocks. Shipwrecked!
"Do it myself..." hmmm. He scooted over, still wrapped into his bed sheet cocoon and reached over to rub at the strained muscle...a very ginger and clinical touch in nature that started to stray away from it's target as he edged his body closer. As soon as he realized exactly what he was doing, he stopped, pulling back his hand and playing it off much too easily, "Uhmmm is that better now?"

Ohhh, Rajnith liked the way Kierjaarth said her name. She liked it very much. Did you hear that, TenlieSlaveLove? Rajjjnith. I think I may change the pronunciation of my name permanently... the Green purred at her rider, humming aloud. Ten ignored her dragon's nonsense, and Rajnith turned her attention back to Kierjaarth. Curling her tail around his, she rolled half onto her side, looking up at the elegant arch to the Bronze's neck. He really was a beautiful color. Me? I am doing quite well... The green suppressed another yawn, tittering mentally. Although I must say I have not quite recovered. Flights are hard work, although they seem to be worth it, she added, slowly closing the lids of one eye in what was either a blink or a wink. Kierjaarth could make that decision for himself.
The request for water instead of wine relaxed Ten a little, but also made her feel a touch silly. What kind of man did she think Mi'rah was, after all? He'd always struck her as someone of great honor and strong morals, not someone who would overdo it even if he had accepted the wine. It was nonsense to think otherwise, of course, Mi'rah was obviously an upstanding gentleman, with such strong hands... meeting Mi'rah's eyes really made her blush, and she poured him a cup of water just to give her hands something to do before settling back on the bed. Mi'rah might understand which part of his desires were his own, but Ten was new at this, and she was starting to question. The flight was over, and while Ten had always known that her mind-mates seemed to have a particularly strong grip on her brain, she didn't totally see how Rajnith's urge to change her name translated to her own desire to grab Mi'rah and kiss him, broken nose be damned.
Maybe some of those feelings were her own? And if they were... why should she deny herself?
Mi'rah's touch made Ten's eyes flutter open, then lapse back shut again in pure sensory pleasure. "Mmm, yes," she breathed, rolling the shoulder just a little. But then the warmth and pressure were gone, and Ten couldn't keep a touch of dissapointment out of her glance. Propping herself up with her uninjured arm, she confirmed, "Certainly better, but I would no say no to a little more help before I go see the healers." Not right now, though, unless he wanted to push her back on to her back. Reaching out with one finger, she started at the bridge of Mi'rah's nose and traced a bruise back under his eye. "For now it does just look swollen, but once it heals, I do think it shall be quite dashing," she murmured, her voice so low it was nearly a purr. "Almost... dangerous." This time she was prepared for the blood that rushed to her cheeks when she met the Bronzerider's oh so blue eyes, but instead of breaking the gaze she simply ignored the blush, pretending it didn't exist. Bold wasn't exactly a word most would use to describe the glasscrafter, but she figured now was an acceptable time for it. That didn't quite translate into the kiss or embrace she wanted, not yet at least, but she figured she might as well get on the right track.

Proudly...smugly...however one wanted to put it, the bronze tilted his head in such a way to let whatever light there was shine off the top of his poised magnificent head and display his kingliness to whatever onlooker there may be, though the closest there might be to an audience were a few stray mandyrs and firelizards. Really he had a witty remark in response to Rajnith...if she though flying was hard, then really she should try chasing. He was the tired one in his not so humble opinion, but his rider having quickly caught on reprimanded him into a more civilized reply, Incredibly worth it from my side dear Rajjjnith, I almost feel sorry for the losers. But Kier had a hard time feeling sorry for anyone, so only so much truth was found within.
Oh! A kiss? Well ok, he'd be a liar if he didn't kind of expect that, it was after all but hours after a flight and he would be an even bigger liar if he said he didn't appreciate the favor. He even - and this just seemed so salacious when related to the monk of a man, because really did anyone picture Mi'rah engaging in anything beyond a hug - kissed her back in his own way, tilting his head to accommodate for that nasty injury of his and tasting the metallic taste of his own on his tongue. Really it would be rude to deny her, and if anything Mi'rah's fear of rejection was two fold: he feared rejecting people just as much as he feared being rejected. He couldn't remember a time when he had ever "embarrassed" a woman by turning down their advances...well save the obvious swamp creatures that he had mentioned long ago to S'rei.
This was different though. He promised that it was, because he didn't have to return any passion if he didn't want to. As an empty vessel he could have faked his way through the display. Instead he lost himself to the kiss before pulling away of course and attending to the glasscrafter's medical maladies, an act that of course was responded with an equal reaction. The world really did seem in that moment to operate on very simple laws in that moment.
Sighing somewhat dreamily, he caught slight of her hand nearing his face and did everything in his power not to instinctually flinch and just passively let her trace the blacks and blues that blemished his face. It sent a sensitive twinge down his nerves but nothing more, and certainly nothing to complain about. Not when he was being lavished on so, and when she commented on his supposed daring, he couldn't help but titer a bit and lean in closer to the woman, "Dangerous?" he asked in a breathy bedtime voice, "You would rather me be dangerous than sweet?" Ah, women he would never understand. Why did they want what could be so bad for them?
"You're blushing," he added on as if she didn't already know.

Hmmm, that was good too. Rajnith matched her head tilt to Kierjaarth's, the starlight glinting off the yellow smear on top of her head, turning it into a golden crown. It seems our dear Ekarth had it right, she mused, tilting her head the other direction at the same angle. So much to learn, if not exactly what he proposed to teach. Could such a dull-hided Blue have shown me this lovely trick? Another tilt of the head, then she laid it sideways, nuzzling into Kierjaarth's neck. Blocking her conversation off from Tenlie - something she hadn't bothered to do until now - she murmured, See what mine does when I lean close? The green was clearly amused by Ten's reaction - the rider snuggled in close to Mi'rah without thinking about it, or realizing that she was now pretty much pressed along his length, just a sheet between them. Whoops.
She hadn't even decided she was really going to kiss him before she found her lips locked, and the Bronzerider's return was a plesant surprise. When she thought about it, she realized she'd expected him to pull away, but she couldn't sort out if that would be right or wrong. She was young and inexperianced, but more importantly he was old, and who knew what kind of relationships he had with women at the Weyr? She realized she'd never asked if he had so much as a Weyrmate.
... She decided not to worry about that now.
He was warm, and she was comfortable in the chilled night air. Her shoulder hurt, her face hurt, but Rajnith's didn't, so Ten's pain was dulled. Even vague thoughts of Ba'sun were pushed away, because Mi'rah was here, and she was safe.
Her touch on his face sent a shiver down her spine, and when he leaned in and spoke it felt like a million butterflies had taken up residence in her chest. She was entranced, absolutely hanging on every word. His comment about her blush, though, had her duck her head, her cheeks flaring brighter. "Aye," she whispered, then looked up through her lashes (as best she could, they weren't very long). Marshling her courage, she added, "I do no care which one you are, I will like you either way. Broken nose or otherwise. I was merely..." What? Was thinking about how he'd look to other women? Thinking that he'd just take the compliment, that her opinion hardly mattered? Trying to encourage him to think more highly of himself?
She was blushing again, dropping her eyes, ducking her head. Rajnith, noticing, gave Kierjaarth's neck a sensuous lick, watching for a reaction. She got what she was looking for - instead of trying to explain herself, the Greenweyrling lifted her face, catching Mi'rah's mouth with her own again. Talking was too hard.
Thrilled with her new game, Rajnith twined her tail around Kierjaarth's again, prompting her Rider to cross a leg over one of Mi'rah's, pulling herself up on top of the Bronzerider. With a gentle hum, she commented for the Bronze alone, It seems we have much to teach Mine, as well. So little control...

Kierjaarth's eyes whirled with interest. A devious green he picked...and he liked it. Good girls were no fun, and he rumbled with delight not only because the female was nuzzling him and twining her tail with him, but because she was smart enough to know what sort of results it had for her mate. Narrowing his sights and snorting he cooed to Rajnith, Such a tricksy one you are dear. I must be careful to never offend you. You might plot awful things for me. Not that she should worry. He was content with their arrangement as is, and it would take a gold flying past his nose to prompt him to chase at this point.
There was just a sheet between them. Just a sheet and she seemed to getting closer and closer and lets face it, he was much too passive to even try and do anything about it other than hang his arm over her side and idly play with the folds of the sheets that were draped about there. All the while he listened to Ten's explanation with complete curiosity, and grinning like a fool at hearing that he would be liked one way or another. It was a good way to stroke his ego, right there below telling him that he was the smartest man alive...now that was a way to get him to preen and purr and he'd probably permanently latch on to anyone who was to feed that delusion.
Still, hanging on her words, he was waiting for her to finish her thoughts before she dropped her gaze only to regroup with a kiss attack again. Not that he minded, but the constant attention from a young woman had him suspicious. What are you up to dragon? Me? I am up to nothing. Hmmmf argue later... It was much too distracting to try and play tongue wars and also try and mentally fight a bronze dragon at the same time. A two front battle was never any good and he of all people should know that. It was this preoccupation that left him prone to Ten's movements; rolling his shoulders to lay on his back in response to the twining of their legs.
Finishing her long forgotten sentence he tried his best to tell a joke. Really! He did wish he was funny and not in the unintentional way he so often was, "You....you merely were distracting me so uh...that you could pin me down weren't you?" Well he tried and that was all that mattered right? His arms wrapped around to rest on the small of her back having freed up the one that had been propping him up before. This was much more comfortable he decided. Dragons were probably behind it all but he was rather good at playing innocent.

Tricksy? Me? Rajnith asked, only a playful flick of her tail betraying the innocence of her tone. Then she changed tact, nuzzling him again (just for him, this time, not to get a response out of Tenlie). As she did, she cooed, I doubt there is much you could do to offend me, Kierjaarth. I am a fairly easygoing dragon... Lies, of course, but Rajnith would never recognize them as such. Clearly, she was easygoing, it was just the rest of the world that had a problem. And as much as Rajnith liked Kierjaarth in that moment, he hadn't earned her true loyalty. Not yet, anyway. As long as he remained amiable and useful, however, he was on the right track.
Overall, Ten was quite pleased. This could have had to do with Rajnith's overwhelming radiation of absolute contentment, but even the weyrling was fully aware that this could have ended worse. Much worse, if Ba'sun... no, later. Now, M'irah. Not to mention that the Bronzerider seemed as enthralled as she felt (something she chalked up to Kierjaarth or basic affection, some desire of his to make her feel comfortable. Nothing to do with her, of course). Well, that didn't matter - as long as she was making him smile, which she very clearly was. Seeing him happy made her happy... good old vicious cycle.
Once the kissing had subsided again - it was surprisingly tiring, she discovered - she rested her head on his chest, letting her eyes close while he spoke. Comfy as she was, she was a little distracted, answering his question with a vague "Mmm-hm" before she really processed what he'd said. Once she had, though, she scrambled up again, only his arms around her waist keeping her from a full escape. Leaning up on her elbows so she could look down at him, she crossed her arms in front of her chest (not that she expected him to look, but still) and focused on fighting off another one of those pesky blushes. She really needed to learn how to exist without turning red every three seconds. Rajnith silently agreed.
"Me? No, I would never -" she started, then realized how bad what she was about to say would sound aloud. Shocked into momentary silence - Mi'rah was right, after all, and she'd just realized - she gave up her standard 'flight' response, allowing herself a smile. She got it now, the joke was on her. "That may be the case, but I will no tell," she backtracked, snuggling in close again. No reason to ruin this, he seemed to like her well enough and certainly, if he were going to reject her, he already would have. Time to relax. "Why, were you hoping I did be so bold?"

Kierjaarth knew enough about green dragons that he knew that Rajnith was mostly likely lying. Not that he totally blamed her, she had perfectly good reason to, but the bronze would try and remember her claim of easy going-ness for as long as he could, which unfortunately even for the shiny dragons wasn't beyond much more than a couple weeks time. He could file away the information with his rider though, and he made sure to "brag" to him about how relaxed and sweet his mate was Rahhh, my dear Raj is a nice, easy going green. Who would have known.. Then attention was quickly returned back to his partner, What exactly will offend you? Or is it too much to ask? A nice lick right over her little beauty mark was the closest a dragon could come to a kiss, but the intention was none the less the same.
Mi'rah had decided that he was throughly confused by the way that Tenlie was acting. He had been operating under the assumption that dragons had a role in their own interactions, certainly he knew that his own pain had been allayed by his dragon's contentment, not to mention his typical reservations when it came to such intimate relations, but Ten's back and forth was rather capricious in nature. Typically the bronzerider knew women to wake up in the morning, pick an emotion, and stick with it...however these women were typically not new to flights. In a weird way Mi'rah was just as new to this as the greenrider was.
"I t-think I understand that expression...'you're killing me'," not that he didn't understand it before, he wasn't so robotic as to not grasp figures of speech, but the exaggeration was always so great that he never used it himself. In this case it seemed all too appropriate however, and every flinch or jerk the woman made seemed like a threat she was going to leave and in tandem he felt his heart stammer much like his tongue and the overwhelming fear that she might leave him here alone grasp him. He didn't want to be alone there amongst the fall out: bloodied sheets, strewn about clothes, and discarded gifts meant for Rajnith. Of course he couldn't very well stop her if she decided to.
He was determined then to encourage her to stay through what little charm he possessed. One hand instinctually reached up to play with the black hair that had been so cruelly tugged on by Ba'sun earlier while he mulled over her question. Did he really wish she had been so bold? Probably, but he wasn't sure that was the best answer, or if there was even a good answer. Maybe he could just dodge the whole thing altogether...and without being too obvious at that, "I don't know, I just wish you would stop confusing me... why don't... you just tell me what you are thinking...sleepy head," an impromptu nickname. Not the best one ever, but he thought it was witty enough.

Hmm. Rajnith pondered that for a moment, cocking her head prettily and batting her eyelids (if only dragons had lashes!) when Kierjaarth 'kissed' her. A difficult question indeed, my Kierjaarth. Not too much to ask, simply too complicated to answer, she purred, deliberately evasive. I don't believe I shall know until you do. Few dragons have offended me in the past, if I remember correctly, which she certainly didn't. One did stick out, though. I suppose you might take a lesson from Ekarth, after all. I do not respond well to force. For all her sweet tone, Rajnith tapped her bright, white claws one at a time on the ledge's stone floor, a hilariously threatening gesture from the pudgy Weyrling.
Oh, the blushing. Ten was pretty sure she didn't have any blood left in her feet, given how often it was rushing to her face. More than anything, she needed to relax, but Rajnith's influence was keeping her mind and body at fever pitch, making her unable to comprehend anything Mi'rah was saying or doing without running it through Rajnith's over-satisfied consciousness first. That, inevitably, made Ten uncomfortable, and therefore unable to simply relax, and be satisfied herself. How could she trust a word he was saying when she kept doing things that made no sense?
Only one solution. In her blushing, shrinking distraction caused by Mi'rah's 'you're killing me', she addressed her Green. Rajnith, love, you will stay away from my head for a moment? I do need to get it on straight, and that will no happen with your... feelings for Kierjaarth leaking over. Please? Rajnith kept her snort mental, but complied, placing the wall Ten had never been able to manage from her end. She loved her dragon too much to block her out effectively - same with her Blues. Even Big Brother's single chase had effected her more than most people with flits.
Immediately, Ten's brain settled down, although little things like Mi'rah's hand in her hair still made feel scattered and dizzy and happy, all at once. Good thing they were laying down. His nickname made her smile, but for once, her cheeks didn't get hot. Without the uncertainty caused by having a Rajnith filter on all her thoughts, Ten was much more sure of herself. "What I do be thinking?" she asked, then giggled a little. "You are sure you wish to know? It do be no great philosophy," she said, then steeled herself for the truth. That's why she'd gotten Rajnith to be quiet, wasn't it? "I think... that I like when you play with my hair and call me sleepy head, and... that I do be so surprised and relieved that it be you here next to me that I do no know what to do with myself." There, that was close enough.
You, TenlieSlaveLove, are pathetic. Ten blushed again... and she had been doing so well. Sigh.

It was ever so tempting to challenge Rajnith on her threats. After all, she was probably only opposed to force when it was not to her favor, and he had little doubt that should he plop his big bronze head over her shoulders or shards just drape half of his body over her as a pillow that she would even care. She did look awfully pillow like...hmmm. I shall do my best to keep that in mind then. But enough of that Ekarth...I do not care for him much, and his name on my tongue tastes like firestone belches. Painfully honest and descriptive, but probably only to distract her as he made his move and stretched his head and neck over to lay on any soft part of green hide he could. All the while a forelimb re-arranged so he looked sprawled onto her. There! A perfect place to sleep.
Ten probably didn't know how elated she had made the bronze rider by not being philosophical. When you spent so much time with your head in the clouds working on theoretics and how things worked it was good to have a solid answer that meant so much more than a bunch of flowery words, "I don't need any great philosophy Ten..." he bit his tongue to keep him from saying her full name that she disliked so much. It was a good thing then that she approved of "sleepyhead" it gave him an expanded selection of things to call her. There was that much going for him... oh and well there was that one surprise...
His eyes widened with surprise and coinciding with Kierjaarth's sudden use of Rajnith as a bed, he very nearly rolled over to smother her with kisses, but stopped remembering that with their collection of injuries any sort of fast movement was likely to get them hurt all over instead. He decided instead to carry on with what he knew was working, namely running his hands though her hair - the repetitive movements were rather comforting anyway - as he replied with disbelief still laced in his voice, "Really? Y-you were happy it was me?"
It wouldn't be surprising if it was just between him and Ba'sun, but there were lots of others in the flight. In fact if he recalled correctly - the thought was confirmed by his dragon - G'tor could have just as easily won and he would have assumed that any woman would be much happier to wake up next to him. Especially one who went on a date with him before, "A-are you sure? You're not just pulling my leg are you? Didn't you...didn't you go to that feast with G'tor?" Maybe he was quick to come to conclusions, and maybe he should just go with compliments when he got them.
In light of the revelation however, he did get the inspiration to inquire again about their own "date" they had agreed upon before, "Uhm, are we still going to go... stargazing?"

Agreed, Rajnith sniffed. I would much rather talk about you and I, anyway. Then she shifted a little, rearranging her limbs to provide a slightly more comfortable pillow for the Bronze. Crossing her forefeet, she twisted her head around to rest it on Kierjaarth's shoulder, tilting it up so she could see his face. Perhaps later, however, she purred, snuggling in tighter. A dainty little yawn made it past her perfect teeth, causing her to bury her face in his neck, her eyes tinging pink in faint (mostly pretend) embarrassment. I am still quite exhausted from my efforts, and you are very comfy.
Rajnith's dainty yawn translated to a jaw-cracking version from Tenlie, which she also hid (along with her own cheeks, as pink as Rajnith's eyes) against her male's neck. She emerged to catch Mi'rah's sweet, slightly stuttered reply, which made her hesitate a little. Was he really that surprised? Could he be... faking? Rajnith perked up a little at that thought, always on the lookout for insecurity from Hers. Hadn't she figured out, by now, that she was second only to Rajnith in all the world? Of course he isn't, TenlieIdiotMine. It is easy to tell when they are, and this one seems to be genuine. Unless he is a very, very good liar.
With that comforting thought, the Green drifted away again, and Ten did her best to smother the big-eyed moment of panic she felt. It was short-lived, though, because Mi'rah went on, removing any doubt the greenweyrling might have had. In fact, worrying about G'tor of all people actually made her laugh. "Oh, aye, and he was the perfect gentleman," she said, allowing her voice to go a little wistful. If simple competition was really what he was worried about, she planned to show him exactly how silly that was. Really, was he jealous of all things? Him? Jealous of her?
Pulling her eyebrows together, she leaned sideways to free a hand, making a little show of thinking back and counting off the chasers one by one. "And Jazz do be my best friend, and Cr'oph's hair..." Ba'sun was attractive too, or was in her limited memory of him anyway, but she figured mentioning that would be just cruel, and that wasn't the point. She let the moment hang, but if Mi'rah was looking close he'd see the laughter in her eyes that gave her away. "But the whole Weyr knows Cr'oph is an ass, Jazz do be a girl, and G'tor be hung up on the Weyrwoman," she said, then clapped the free hand over her mouth. "Er... I probably should no have mentioned that last bit," she added, trying not to look shifty. That was G'tor's business, she supposed. "The point be that I do like them all well enough, but they're friends. Well, no Cr'oph so much, but you get the point. You... you I have no quite sorted out yet, but I do be fairly certain you are no just a friend."
True enough, and she said it with her chin thrust out, defiant even as she slid her free hand across his chest, not quite ready to let him freak out and escape. If he had to do that, he could just wait. To trap him further (although the word 'trap' was supplied by a certain Green), she tried her prettiest smile, although she was still a little uncomfortable using it to manipulate. She thought that's what she was doing, anyway. "I do hope we are - I would hate to have spent good marks for naught," she replied, wishing she had stuck with a simple 'yes' as soon as the words were out of her mouth. She didn't mean for that to come out like it didn't matter! In an attempt to rectify her flippant tone, she added, "I truly mean it, I have been looking forward to stargazing with you since we met." Oh good, now she'd moved on to sappy. Maybe she should just stop. She couldn't even blame it on Rajnith this time - as far as she could tell, it was allll Mi'rah's fault she was flustered.
