Farryl bit deeply into a sweet fruit as she wandered between stalls and other people. She breathed the numerous scents and listened to the sounds of talking, laughter, and music. 'Gathers really are the best,' she thought. Here she could see the work of fine craftsmen from across the area, engage in a friendly talk with a passing stranger, and most importantly, sample some delicious foods. She took another bite of the fruit, savoring the taste. Travel was all well and good, but the food was certainly lacking.
Farryl neatly side stepped a group of giggling youngsters being pursued by someone she took to be an older sister. She was glad she had never had that chore. Children were fun for a while, but only a while. They got annoying after a fashion. Not that her chores had been much better. When she was younger, she had mostly run free or done small errands for her adoptive family. Yet as the turns passed, the traders started assigner her more duties, like doing the dishes and helping to load the caravan. Not that they hadn't been kind, far from it. Farryl simply found the whole operation too boring and restrictive. That was why she had left a few months before to seek her fortune on the open road.
Now she strode towards a large tent from which the songs of harpers could be heard. Music was always pleasant after so much time alone and here she was sure to find someone to talk with and pass the time. Perhaps discover the latest happenings. Traveling so much, did leave her out of touch with the world on occasion.
((OOC: I hope I posted correctly. This is the beginning of what Morgan and I started together. ^_^))
