You look stupid, ReiMine. At least it's not a constant state of being. My, my. Was that an attempt to insult me? It fell a little flat, I must say. Doubtless. The bronzerider went back to stubbornly trying to feed himself with his right arm - the one he usually used for this task - in a sling. Splints. Slings. Bandages. He'd apparently been trying to impale his face with his own clavicle, if you believed the stories. S'rei couldn't really remember much of the cave in other than Sel'n shrieking at something and the cave ceiling deciding to shut him up by falling on him. Only it missed. Just S'rei's luck, right?
At least it had ended in finding Burimyu. All of the supplies from Blossom had been transported to this weird little hideaway in the ass crack of a canyon deep in the mountains. People were pussyfooting around him, though, and the bronzerider knew that something was up. If the healers refusing to answer his questions wasn't indication enough. "Screw this." He chucked the fork into the nearest corner. It wasn't like S'rei was going to be feeding himself short of shoving his face into the plate of food and imitating a canine, anyway. "Get me Ka'rys."
Salenth's tail flicked slightly in amusement. Might I remind you that technically Burimyu is run by a council. A council which you are not on and Ka'rys is. "Along with Meira and E'rro." The tone itself was one rarely used - the bronzerider didn't often openly show disdain for anyone - but perhaps it could be forgiven in the face of S'rei's having refused numbweed and fellis to preserve their limited supplies. "Fine. If we must play by decorum add 'please' to the end of your summons."
Not that S'rei was waiting for Ka'rys. He brushed at the food that had made it down his front just as often as down his throat, moving out into the hallways to go searching for answers himself. And promptly hit his head on the doorframe. "Shardblast it all to Between," he snapped, rubbing at his head. What was with all the damn ceilings having it out for him?!
Ciceroth. Mine would like to see Yours if he's not busy. Salenth ignored the mental protests from His. Couldn't hurt to be a little polite.
(Just as an fyi this thread isn't really for Sym, lolz, unless she suddenly reappears and wants to post xP It's just for anyone brave enough to deal with a cranky bronzer.)

"There's a what?" E'rro looked down from his framework and from the expression on his face, he was genuinely confused.
"A large angry man in the eating commons."
The Brownrider raised an eyebrow. He'd gotten to know most of the Riders, weyrling or otherwise, here and Burimyu and the young Blueweyrling beneath him wasn't one for lying. "Thank you E'iah, I'll check it out. Will you finish off this support for me?" He got a nod. "Thanks." Switching places with the Senior Woodcrafter he lept down off of the ladder and brushed himself off. A large angry man, hm? Well Ka'rys could get angry, but er, he wasn't tall. R'ven was tall, but he generally didn't get angry. E'iah had shown a sort of diligence in memorizing people's names, so if he had known them he would have simply said who they were. Which meant the possibilities boiled down into just a very few people. If he had to guess... it was their newest addition. S'rei.
Sighing, the Wingsecond bound his hair back in a low ponytail. Noting its length he decided it was very much the time for a cut, though, at a later date. Right now, he needed to deal with a man known to throw chairs. He just hoped that the ex-Weyrleader wasn't in the mood to make his head a live target. Lifting his hand in greeting as someone called out his name, E'rro shook his head at their offer of cards and continued down the maze of corridors that would lead him to where he needed to be. A pop to his right announced the arrival of his Firelizard. Somehow she always knew when he was heading toward food, it was like a sixth sense or something. "No Feather, I'm not getting food. You go play with the others... go find Nephele or one of the Weyrlings. They'll entertain you or at least feed you." The Green ruffled her wings in thought as she clung to his shoulder. A few moments passed before she chirped happily and left him to his walking, oh the promise of food was too tempting.
Rounding the corner to his left, E'rro sighed as he heard S'rei bark out a particularly vicious curse. Yup. The man was in a mood. He'd heard from Meira that the Bronzerider had a broken arm. Could be part of the problem, but the Brownrider doubted that it was the entirety of it. His hands folded behind his back as he walked, angling himself so he could intercept the man. E'rro arrived at the door frame, he had almost forgotten exactly how tall the other Rider was. S'rei was one of the few people that even he had to look up slightly at. "S'rei... sir." Might as well continue to be courteous, the Bronzerider was still far more experienced than he. "Is there perhaps, something I can do for you?"

He was still rubbing at the back of his head when E'rro came around the corner. S'rei really couldn't say what annoyed him about the brownrider. Maybe it was that he was already annoyed. Maybe it was the way the man walked with his hands behind his back. Perhaps it was the fact that the kid could be no more than twenty. Or maybe it was simply that he was Ka'rys'. There was little love lost between S'rei and Ka'rys, after all, a point of frustration; the older of the two bronzeriders had tried time and time again to at least get them to a point of relative civility.
Whatever the reason, though, E'rro's appearance definitely only irritated S'rei more than he already was. (It could well have something to do with the fact that E'rro's choice of words sounded a lot like 'now, sir, please calm down, you're acting like a lunatic'. Of course that could just be his own conscience talking. Bah.) At any rate, he regarded the brownrider narrowly.
"Almost certainly. If you will, though, is another matter. Where's Ka'rys?" He set to picking off the remnants of food particles from his shirt front. No, he wasn't embarrassed that he couldn't feed himself without wearing it. Not at all. "What is everyone trying not to tell me? What news is there of my children?" He knew better than to ask about Aliscia.
His hand went to the doorjam and he leaned against it, fighting the impulse to advance on E'rro and back him into the nearest corner. "No one's bothered to brief me on things as simple as where the dragons can go to hunt or what you're doing for Flights. May I remind you that I'm not a mindreader?" That and Ka'rys would probably get irritated if S'rei just assumed things were being handled logically and his logic didn't match up with the little scowly man's.

"Last time I spoke with him was earlier this morning, right now I believe he's helping fortify the deeper tunnels." E'rro repressed the urge to clear his throat, it was his parallel to shifting uncomfortably. It was obvious that S'rei didn't want to deal with him and in the end E'rro technically didn't have to tell him anything, foisting the job off onto someone else would be easy. But bouncing the Bronzerider around was like tossing an agitated cat like a ball. It would only end in him being disliked more and they all needed to live and work with eachother... somehow. And when S'rei mentioned his children, E'rro shifted his gaze downward slightly. No wonder people weren't speaking with him, nobody wanted to breach that subject.
His eyes resettled to where they had been a moment before. "I'm sorry no one has been able to debrief you. With limited hands and limited resources, we're all pretty busy. Especially now with the blizzards and snows rolling in. If you're up for it, I can fill you in on what's going on and answer any questions you might have right now." He'd given the rest of his chores over to the younger Rider that he'd been working with before, so it freed up his schedule until the council meeting later on that evening. He did have shifts in their Infirmary but he could technically excuse himself from them if he promised to relieve whoever took up his slack tomorrow for the amount of hours they covered.
And now, to tackle that subject not even he wanted to touch. The older man deserved to know who they had in their care and who they didn't. "Miguel likes to spend time with Hoayamae but if he's not with her now, he's running around here somewhere or in his room." E'rro paused, crossing his arms against his chest. "He was the only one from your family to evacuate with us. We don't... have any information on the rest of your children." Now he shifted uncomfortably. Despite all of the things he could do, he was horrible at dealing with bad news when it came to children. "I can take you to Miguel, if you'd like to see him before we talk..."

S'rei's eyes narrowed further. "Those sound dangerously like excuses, brownrider," he growled. Salenth of course then took the opportunity to remind him that this wasn't his Weyr or his brownrider with nothing more than a mental nudge. The bronzerider snorted softly. Yeah, he knew that already, but it didn't change the fact that E'rro was scrambling to cover his ass. Everyone here was not too busy to take five minutes to talk to him. S'rei knew when he was being bounced about. Shards, he'd done it enough to other people, hadn't he?
His uninjured hand went up to knead at his temple. "Yes. I'm up for it." The man managed to keep the bite from his tone. Somehow. If only because E'rro would be easier to get things out of than Ka'rys. The other bronzerider didn't really intimidate. Not that he should. S'rei was fairly certain that Ka'rys could take him out with both hands tied. Though probably not as easy as the Fortian assumed. Heh.
Some of the lividness slid from his features at Miguel's name. It was a tremendous relief to have his young nephew here. He'd been there at the boy's birth, raised him as his own for so long..."None at all?" They were just children. Surely they'd be all right. Wouldn't they? "Okay. No, no, I'll see Miguel later." It was oddly a reunion that he somewhat feared. Time and time again when the boy needed him he simply wasn't there. S'rei pushed the thought from his mind.
"All right. I don't know how much contact you've had with Blossom, but the Lordholders promised me their support in full...secretly of course. They'll send what crafters you need, too." S'rei glanced down the hallway. "I really just need to know where I fit in here and basics. I'm sure you've got some sort of security regulations in place? Salenth needs to know where to hunt, too."

"Perhaps then, it has been your staunch reputation that has kept people away. Or perhaps it is because they fear to approach you while you have an unmediated injury. I can only offer observations and truths, if they sound close to excuses, then that is what they will sound like." Moving so S'rei could get past him with out the possibility of brushing against him, he swung his arm in the direction that he intended to go. "Lets walk. You been settled into a Weyr?" E'rro managed to get the question in before S'rei began speaking of Blossom Hold. He wanted to know if the Bronzerider preferred to have rooms near Miguel or even, share a room with the boy, but he could wait until a later time to elaborate. Right now, he just wanted to satisfy the Man's need for questions.
E'rro tucked his thumbs into his belt loops as they walked, his eyes wondered down the hall keeping alert for the correct corridors he needed to choose. "We've had contact from Blossom, yes. They've sent us a wide range of supplies and as much as they're able to spare... which unfortunately isn't enough. Our supplies are ever dwindling. We were not able to get much before the Snows started, even less now that they have." He gestured to an passageway closest to S'rei before entering it himself. "The Council has been making preparations for more drastic approaches to obtaining supplies." The Brownrider waved at the same people who had hailed him before, but continued to walk.
"We are urging Riders and Dragons to be careful in the skies around Burimyu. Dragons shouldn't be in our airspace for anything except arrival and departure via the Between. If a Dragon wants to sunbathe they need to do so far away from the Weyr, preferably in the Desert. Metallics are asked to Between from the ground, for obvious reasons. As for hunting, we currently have our more competent Firelizards tracking herds of wild Herdbeasts. Dragons feed in small groups. They grab a Herdbeast and Between with it back to a hidden feeding area. I'll have Ismaroth send Salenth the coordinates for the area." Holding out his hand as Feather appeared, he took the message she held in her paw before transferring her to his shoulder. E'rro unrolled the scrap of paper before tucking it into his pocket.
"The schedule for Dragon feeding is posted in the Mainhall, it's going to be updated tonight. We switch up the times and the days to reduce our chance of being caught." He lead them down another pathway. "We are asking that People stay close to the Weyr if they go out and to go out with a partner. We don't have Whers out here to help us clear the Felines out, and the ones we do have are just about as dangerous. Needless to say, we spend most of our time inside Burimyu or under the dense canopy that surrounds us. We're living under 'survival of the fittest'. So anything that can reveal our existence, such as fires, is prohibited and reckless endangerment will be punished accordingly." The Wingsecond tickled his Firelizard under her chin. "And, as for where you fit in... I'm not entirely sure as of this moment. The most important thing right now is that you heal. Tonight there will be a Council meeting at the seventh candle mark, I invite you to attend."

At E'rro's rather cheeky comeback, S'rei's expression remained just this side of neutral, if you ignored the distinctly unimpressed cast to his eyes. Right. Staunch reputation. If people thought he was going to go after anyone because of pain they were stupid. Worst they had to worry about was the bite of his tongue. But the bronzerider didn't respond to the words because they were distinctly unimportant.
A nod was response enough as far as the question of lodging was concerned. He fell into step beside the brownrider and simply absorbed. Which was normal for the man, though most of the people here hadn't had a ton of contact with him. Ka'rys' people. Go figure. Most likely these ones just knew him for his abundance of children and chair-throwing moniker. So...Blossom had gotten into contact with them after all. Good and bad. That meant there were no resources left to draw on, didn't it?
And still he said nothing. Didn't bother translating for Salenth, either...the male was listening directly. In fact, he'd already started making arrangements for the hunting he'd been putting off ever since they'd arrived here at Burimyu. Well, he almost said nothing. The living under survival of the fittest comment was weird. "...Is that code for something? I've never heard of a rule called 'survival of the fittest' that dictates no fires. Maybe a rule called 'don't get your ass caught.' " Okay, so maybe he was more than just a little tempramental. Though who could really blame him?
Oh, yay, council meeting. Well, at least Ka'rys wouldn't be able to escape him there. Cornering shorty after the meeting should get some more of his questions answered. "Healing's well and good, but don't expect me to sit around and pick my nose until my arm decides to stop imitating a two-dimensional plane. If you've got something that isn't getting done because of all the physical jobs that need doing, might as well point me at it." Or give him something that required the use of his feet.
Adjusting his shirt, he leveled his eyes on E'rro. "The seventh, then. It's just you, Ka'rys and Meira, isn't it?" He'd been doing his best to get the information he needed, but it wasn't nearly so simple here when he didn't have a couple dozen drudges ghosting around...
