Erilena stirred again in bed her eyes drifting open and focusing on the ceiling. For a few moments she simply traced patterns in the stone of the ceiling before rolling over to look around the room. Sleep wasn’t coming easy at all. Lenamine? The soft sleepy mental murmur came from the other side of the weyr, concern evident even behind sleep induced haze. Are you okay? What time is it? Just a bit past the eighth morning candle mark.
Well then, no wonder Dmitri was dead asleep. Lucky. Being careful not to disturb the slumbering handler the greenrider slipped out from under the covers and swung her legs over the side of her bed. Looking back briefly at Demi she stood and made her way slowly to Feyrianth. Caressing the green’s jaw line as the dragon moved her head to nuzzle lightly at her rider Erilena continued. I’m okay. Just can’t sleep. Thinking too much. A soft rumble greeted the statement. I see and now you cannot go back to sleep? With a strained smile Erilena nodded, pressing her forehead into her dragon’s soft hide. Silly Lenamine. You should go back to sleep. Tell your thinking to go away. Or wake Dancer. He will help you sleep. But the dragon’s protests where weak. It was hard to deny hers when Erilena thought she wanted something, and one simple trip could not really hurt…
The dragon rose and nudged her bonded softly. Hurry up then and I will go with you. He would be angry if you went alone. I wasn’t planning on going alone. Good because he would not be the only one irritated if you did. Arching in a stretch the four winged dragon waited as her bonded changed out of her night shift and into a simple ankle length skirt and top. Grabbing her riding jacket in case Erilena swung herself up onto Feyrianth’s neck, forgoing straps. More because of an anxiousness and a desire to be moving than anything else. Where do you want to go? A split second of hesitation before the greenrider simply closed her eyes and visualized the clearing that she used to dance in. Placing the trees properly, the morning sun peaking out of the slightly overcast sky, the grass swaying in the light breeze, the light drizzle that was just beginning to clear. The green silently slipped out into the morning light without another word, flinging herself off the ledge and immediately blinking between.
The suddenness of the transfer still took Erilena’s breath away and as they broke out into the still air from between she coughed. I’m sorry. I should have warned you. It’s okay I’m fine. Shivering slightly as the chill of between faded she mentally prodded the four winged green. With a soft croon the dragon approached the clearing and suddenly banked, speeding over the tree tops. Feyrianth did an easy roll and then steadied to glide out over the clearing. Her near metallic spots reflected the morning light and the drizzle of the rain, giving her hide an almost metallic sheen as she hover danced over the grass. Finally the green back winged to lightly settle onto the ground. Crouching to allow hers to dismount she slow flared her four wings and tossed her head up towards the sky half lidding whirling eyes. The drizzle feels good. Sadly it is ending.
Slipping off Feyrianth’s neck Erilena dug her bare toes into the grass and reached up to stroke her dragon’s neck. “Mhm. Nice morning. The rain makes everything look more alive.” Stretching the greenrider wandered back to the tree line before finding a semi dry spot under one tree. Settling her riding jacket on the ground she half sprawled out on it and watched Fey roll in the grass with half lidded eyes. Will you dance? Maybe later. Right now just watching you be silly is making me tired. About a half candlemark later the woman had fallen asleep and the green had sprawled out in the morning sunshine, tail tip flicking slightly as she sunned and watched over her bonded’s slumber. Movement out on the left side of her field of vision caused Feyrianth to give a light croon, her head tilting. Is someone there?

Casiloy stared at frustration at Casiloy, who was slinking forward akwardly toward a clearing. Why the brown didn't just fly, Cas would never know. Perhaps he was to stupid to realize that he had a set of fully functioning wings, or maybe he just liked falling on his face when he tried to walk on his awkwardly proportioned legs.
They had been out since before dawn, wandering around the jungle, doing absolutely nothing. Well, the candidate Casiloy hadn't anyway. He had been trying to follow the mandyr, whom he was convinced was hoarding his collection of sparkling rocks, and had been trying to find the hidy hold. He had had no luck in his endeavor. However, The Salamandyr who had stolen his bonded's name, was having a splendid morning. He had been busy learning new sounds, and the sharding mandyr would not shut up. His favorite by far was the hi pitched squeal Casiloy made when he had hit his head on a low hanging branch, which he imitated to perfection.
Casiloy ground his teeth. If that was not annoying enough, the stupid mandyr was about to do something even Stupider than normal. Both Casiloys had seen the sleeping human at the same time, and immediately the brown rushed forward with a single mined intent. He was going to bite the human.
And Casiloy was going to kill the stupid mandyr.
“No.” The mandyr stared right back at him. Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “No.” Yes. “NO!” The salamandyr ignored the loud hiss and shot awkwardly out of his cover ., making a beeline for the sleeping woman. Casiloy had no choice but to follow suit.
Pursuit was unnecessary- as soon as mandyr and candidate reached the clearing, they stopped and stared at a four-winged green dragon who was sunning herself. A four winged shiny dragon.
My Shiny. Casiloy shook his head. “It's not your dragon. You can't have a dragon. Mine. NOYOURS, MINE!. “Shut up, you migh-” the protest fell away from his lips when the beautiful shiny creature addressed him.
“You talked to me!” Casiloy stammered. He was thoroughly convinced that all the dragons in the weyr had been playing a trick on him, purposely not talking to him. He supposed the ostrization was over. “Do you know that your a very shiny?” He added almost at and afterthought, approaching the green dragon, nodding in greeting. He was absolutely entranced by the sunlight throwing light of the metallic hide of the wonderful green. “I'm Casiloy, and this is Casiloy...” the candidate said turning the motion at the salamandyr. “Casiloy no!” the candidate whispered in horror as the little brown mandyr was crawling over the woman- sleeping rider he corrected. The brown cocked his head, making the kissing noise he had learned when his bonded had his encounter with Piden.
But Casiloy knew better. He could tell the salamandyr was debating weather to take a chunk of the slumbering rider's noise. Though not the brightest, the salmandyr had decided that if he could dominate the rider, the shiny would be his.

Feyrianth titled her head further as the candidate and his mandyr entered the clearing. Oh dear. Salamandyr. Hers didn’t much like mandyrs. They just…made the woman uncomfortable. Erilena more tolerated the creatures but despite that was quite kind to them usually. But they all reminded her of Leo in ways. The green rustled her wings almost absently as she was addressed.
Feyrianth normally picked and chose what humans to speak to. If the green liked them, she had no problems chatting to them. Or if hers was not completely with her, like now, it was just easier to just bespeak them herself. It was clear from Casiloy’s surprised tone that no other dragon had spoken to him before though. The four winged female crooned softly to the boy, her mind tone predominantly amused as she spoke to him again. Why shouldn’t I talk to you? The note of question behind the tone was just barely there as Feyrianth lowered her head to give him a curious sniff.
Casiloy’s question caught her by surprise and she turned her head to examine her near glittering hide herself. Yes I am very shiny. Dancer oiled me yesterday. He always does a good job. The affection in her tone present on the word Dancer was glaringly obvious. Turning back to regard the candidate as he approached closer Feyrianth crooned. Hello Casiloy. I am Feyrianth. Then with a soft snort she turned as the boy did to also try and catch sight of this other Casiloy. How could there be two of them? The green was mildly confused until she caught sight of the bronze mandyr scampering over hers.
Wings flaring outwards in an outward projection of concern she quickly nudged the boy. Lenamine does not much like the little mandyr kin. You must fetch him. Please? The earnest quality to Feyrianth’s words were quite easily heard. Hers had been much too upset lately. Not sleeping well and having head pain. The last thing the dragon wanted was a further upset hers.
But Feyrianth was a little late, the small mandyr’s travel over her body caused Erilena to shiver. Feyrianth’s curiosity and excitement had already worked to half wake her so it didn’t take much. The kissing sound emanating from the mandyr did the rest. Eyes flying open the greenrider blinked at the oddly shaped mandyr before giving a squeal and swatting at it, moving quickly to scramble off her jacket. To be honest if she had realized what the mandyr was the woman would have felt terrible.
But half awake Casiloy appeared to her to be nothing more than a really large bug, or something equally freaky. Standing there wide eyed and chest heaving Erilena placed a hand on her chest, fingers barely brushing against the butterfly necklace hanging at her throat. Lenaminelove? It is okay it was a mandyr. We have company. She added needlessly as the rider turned to regard Casiloy the candidate with wide eyes.
With a small embarrassed sound Erilena covered her mouth and turned to look at her jacket. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to. Is he okay?” Maybe it was a good thing she was a dragonhealer. Although in all honesty Erilena didn’t hit hard. At all. So at the most the poor brown might just be dazed. Or just pissed. Feyrianth lowered her head to nudge Casiloy. Lenamine is embarrassed she didn’t mean to swat at your pet. The green explained, as if it needed clarification, before reaching out to brush her bonded’s mind with quiet affection. An embarrassed hers was preferable to an upset hers.

(So late Rei, I'm sorry!)
Casiloy shrugged when the dragon replied. “No reason, its just a relief to here a dragon talking to me. Since I arrived I've been ignored. You see,” Casiloy lowered his voice, motioning as if to encourage the dragon to come closer to here a secret, “I've been able to talk to dragons all my life, but you know what? I'm pretty sure the Selenitas dragons are playing a trick on me! They refuse to talk to me! It's been very strange I tell you.” Once Casiloy started talking, it was hard to shut him up.
However, the green dragon drew attention back to her beautiful hide, and the candidate was sufficiently distracted. “Is Dancer your riders firelizard?” Casiloy questioned, restraining himself to not sneak forward and touch the metallicy hide. “And it's very nice to meat you Feyrianth!”
Casiloy almost fell over as the green nudged him gently, urging him to intercept his brown Salamandyr. But it was to late. Casiloy (the human) moaned in anguish as he prepared for the worse, but luckily, before the brown mandyr could bite Feyrianth's rider, the woman swatted the creature away.
The brown landed in a heap on the floor. Casiloy would have been worried but the annoying beast shot to its feet, immediately mimicking the squeal the had emanated from the rider. “Come here you,” Casiloy muttered as he quickly moved forward to grab the salamandyr. He managed to snatch Casiloy up just before the mandyr wriggled away. Angered the brown started growling like a feral cat, obviously very upset by the way his human was handling him. “Oh shut up,” he muttered, decidedly releasing the salamandyr and allowing him to scamper off back into the jungle. Casiloy wondered why his brown didn't want to hang around, if only to admire the dragon.
He would probably be back later with another half thought out plan for becoming the 'owner' of the shiny dragon.
Casiloy turned smartly on his heels to face the rider when she addressed him. She was apologizing to Casiloy... for hitting Casiloy. The candidate rubbed his temple, thinking how unfortunate his mandyr had taken his name for the thousandth time that week. “Don't worry about it, hopefully you've knocked some sense into the thing. Casiloy isn't very smart you see, I think he thought you were a treat,” Casiloy said, knowing very well the brown had nothing of the sort in his slow moving mind. He had been after the green dragon the only way that made sense to him. “My names Casiloy, and its nice to meet you and Feyrianth.”
Casiloy laughed as the dragon nudged him, this time allowing himself to reach out and briefly nudge the nose of the green, shooting a glance at the rider to make sure this was acceptable behavior. “It's quite alright Feyrianth, I've wanted to swat him myself from time to time.”

Wings slowly fluttering before she tucked them along her back, Feyrianth regarded Casiloy with clear interest. Lowering her head to be more at his level she gave a soft chirp. Oh he could talk to others too like the Teribug? Then why did he not say anything to her before she spoke to him? The green titled her head, brief confusion whirling through her jewel like eyes. I am the first to speak to you? He wasn’t sure what he meant by the others playing tricks on him. If there was some joke regarding him she had certainly not been privy to it. Hmm. Maybe she would ask Rhiiseth or Phremath, or one of the others later. For now she just nudged the candidate softly and gave a rumble of laughter. Silly. No Dancer is not a firelizard. He is a human. With a croon she nuzzled the boy. It is good to meet you too. Even if he was quite silly it seemed.
With the mandyr crisis, if it could be called one, safely adverted Feyrianth moved to nuzzle her bonded. Erilena stroked along the green’s jaw gently as she watched Casiloy the mandyr squeal at her. One eyebrow raised in response to the creature. She hadn’t been aware mandyrs could make those kinds of sounds. When the boy finally released his pet and approached her the greenrider offered him a half smile. What a way to meet someone. Running fingers through her hair as the boy spoke she shook her head. “I’m sorry all the same, but I’m glad he seems to be okay. Some mandyrs aren’t very smart no.” Erilena agreed with a slightly warmer smile hand still playing with her hair. He thought her food? Well with mandyrs it seemed nearly anything was possible.
With a surprised expression she regarded Casiloy before looking at the place his mandyr counterpart had disappeared into. “So then you’re Casiloy too? I bet that gets confusing.” It would be like her and Feyrianth having the same name. Poor guy. Finally dropping her hand from her hair Erilena offered the candidate another smile. “Erilena. And I see you already met Feyrianth. Are you a candidate?” Watching him as he nudged Fey’s nose she reached up to rub at one of the dragon’s eye ridges earning a contented hum from the green. “You can touch her. She doesn’t mind. She really likes her eye ridges scratched or rubbed, and she also likes to be rubbed right here under her jaw.”
Demonstrating for him Erilena then patted her green’s muzzle. “She’s been known to give random kisses if she likes you. Just as a warning she slobbers when she kisses.” Wrinkling her nose she laughed as Feyrianth gave a snort. I do not slobber as much as she says. Also swatting is not a good thing. You should be nice and rub instead. As the dragon spoke she nudged against Casiloy’s hand.

First to speak to him? Casiloy pondered on that for a few moments. Was Feyrianth the first to speak to him? The candidate found it hard to remember what happened to him a week prior, so asking him to recall something that may or may not have happened years before was rather presumptuous. Casiloy decided on a shrug. “Perhaps, I don't think so, but I don't remember.”
He laughed as he was corrected by the magestic dragon. “Human? Dancer is the name of the human? Or perhaps a nickname..” He with a smile of delight he nuzzled the dragon right back with his cheek- a very awkward thing for a human to do.
Casiloy stood awkwardly as Erilena addressed him. New to the weyr, he was still at a loss of the proper way to address dragon riders. Perhaps a curtsy? No maybe not. Or a salute? No perhaps not that. Casiloy continued to struggle with the conundrum as when he answered her first question.
“Very confusing at times. If I had had it my way, his name would defiantly not be the same as mine. But the stupid creature miss understood me and took the name Casiloy to be his own. And yes, I am a candidate though I'm new to the weyr...” Casiloy's vision drifted from her face to follow the path of a scuttlebug that was running across the still wet grass. It ran straight past the dragon.
Oh, right the dragon. He really must try harder to pay attention to the rider. Casiloy's eyes shot straight back up to Erilena's face, muttering “Sorry.” He relaxed slightly as the rider reached for her dragon, and he followed suit.
“Rubbing here,” Casiloy asked as he messaged the hide of Feyrianth, reaching under her jaw. He let out a surprised chuckle. “A Slobbery Dragon, thats a new one.” He laughed again and resumed his rubbing of the green dragon. “Can you fly with those wings,” the candidate asked as he gazed at the two sets. Quite unusual indeed.

Positively purring under all the attention she was getting Feyrianth regarded Casiloy with bright blue whirling eyes. Ah yes some things are hard to remember. I have trouble remembering things too at times. But it is okay because Lenamine helps me remember. Her tone was undeniably affectionate as her tail tip wrapped partway around her riders legs. A soft and quiet croon left her throat as the green bobbed her head in agreement with the boy. Yes. Dancer is my nickname for him. His real name is Dmitri. The female’s tone became more amused towards the end of the sentence as the boy returned her nuzzle with his own cheek. Right then Feyrianth decided that she quite liked his one. Yes indeed. He would be hers now. The dragon tended to ‘collect’ those she liked and this blonde boy had just successfully made himself part of her ‘human collection’ for lack of a better word.
Amused at her dragon’s thoughts Erilena shook her head. “She comes up with nicknames for lots of her favorites. Sure you’ll get one too if you see her often.” With a light smile she continued to rub Feyrianth’s ridges listening to the boy beside her at the same time. His story about his mandyr was similar to some of the others who had unintentionally named their pets. With a light shrug the greenrider commented. “Mandyrs are known to do that. Lots of them pick up on the first words their bonded’s say to them and then just decide that’s their name. Most of them are ridiculously hard to reason with too. So some of them have some pretty interesting names. At least you aren’t the only one.” With a reassuring smile she brushed her hand along Feyrianth’s muzzle.
“It’s a bit of an adjustment isn’t it? I lived in a hold until I was nineteen and then ended up here. It’s still an adjustment in some ways. But if you have any questions your Candidatemaster is a good person to address them with. I don’t mind answering some questions too if you want?” After her offer Erilena grew silent as Casiloy seemed to zone out. Blinking at him she waited until he uttered an apology and then she waved it off. “No need to apologize.” She thought a lot too after all and she figured the boy was still getting used to the way things worked here. With a nod the greenrider again placed her hand on Feyrianth. “Yep right there.” As to the question of whether her dragon could fly or not, she decided to let Feyrianth answer that one. Mostly because it seemed the dragon was the one who the question had been addressed to.
A please hum briefly emanated from Feyrianth’s throat before she again gave a light snort. Lenamine is exaggerating. I am not a slobbery dragon. Nudging her bonded slightly in mild reproof she then flared her wings proudly. Yes. Of course I can fly. And very well too. I’ve had lots of practice. Regarding her bonded with one whirling eye they held a brief and private conversation before she asked. Would you like a ride?

“Dmitri,” Casiloy murmured, “that is definitely a human name.” The candidate thought that he knew who the dragon was referring to, but he couldn't be sure. There were certainly a lot of people at the weyr and he found it hard to keep names and faces straight. “Would you mind telling me how he got that particular name?” Casiloy asked as a mental picture of an admittedly handsome man dressed in a pink dress and dancing gracefully, arms extended above his head.
Casiloy blinked in surprise as he realized that he had just refereed to a man, even in his head, as handsome. What constituted a handsome man? Piden was handsome, wasn't he? But then again, Casiloy had seemed to be cured of that short lived infatuation. No more talk of handsome men, Casiloy scolded himself. He preferred woman. End of Story. Maybe.
“She does?” Casiloy asked in surprise, allowing himself to be drawn back into the conversation. “I wouldn't mind that,” Casiloy answered. He was already starting to refer to the dragon and rider pair as Sparkle and Pretty- pretty referring to the dragon of course (but perhaps it was better suited for the rider, Casiloy mused), so if he received a nickname in return he could hardly complain. “Does he have a name for you,” the blonde boy asked slyly, adding on as an afterthought, “Yes, but I'm pretty sure Casiloy takes stupid to a entirly new level.”
“It's certainly different that what I'm used to,” Casiloy said, nodding affably. “You see, for a few years I lived on my own, and its really only recently that I've started living around others,” he explained. “Its harder in some ways, I've been forced to conform to some to the customs, such as wearing clothes. They are really uncomfortable, but apparently everyone must wear them to be deemed socially acceptable. Quite a bother really.”
“If any questions come up, I'll be sure to ask you, thank you. Actually I do have one if you don't mind answering it. You said that you came to the weyr at nineteen? Isn't the cut off age for candadateship not after that? If it is, you must have impressed on either your first or second try. Is that normal?”
Casiloy fixed his gaze back on the green dragon as he was addressed be Feyrianth. Laughing, he agreed, “I'm sure you aren't Feyrianth.” He stepped back in surprise as the green suddenly flared her four wings and made her offer. Had he just been offered to go flying? Shooting a questioning glance at Erilena, he tentatively spluttered, “It would be an honor, I would love to b-b-but is it.. is it allowed?”

Feyrianth rumbled again, the sound vibrating through her chest. Obvious amusement colored her faceted gaze, breaking up the uniform happy blue. He is called Dancer because he is quite graceful as he moves. Especially for a human. That and he likes to dance. The simple answer was given in a cheerful tone. It seemed obvious to the green after all. Why else would he be called Dancer? Now there was the matter of coming up with a nickname for this Casiloy hmm. Tail tip wrapping further up her rider’s body, stopping at her waist, the dragon considered the candidate before her.
Giving her dragon a curious look out of the corner of one eye Erilena returned her attention to the candidate as he spoke. “Mhm. She likes to come up with nicknames for those she likes. She forgets them sometimes if you haven’t spoken to her in awhile.” Came the explanation. A soft yet slightly amused smile backing it up. At Casiloy’s next question the greenrider’s eyebrow raised and she glanced at Fey before motioning between herself and the dragon. “Are you asking her or me?” Either way it was kinda a weird question. Why did he care what Dmitri called them? The four winged green however seemed completely unconcerned. He calls me Butterfly. She said with a light nudge to the candidate’s arm. Keep petting please. Or simply Fey. Lots of people call me Fey. Erilena covered up a giggle of amusement at Feyrianth's clear demand for attention, greedy beast, and then tilted her head as Casiloy’s voice caught her attention.
….What? He had never worn clothes before coming to the weyr? Had she heard him right? What kind of place did he live in? That was….really odd. Erilena was pretty sure the surprise registered clearly on her face, although she did her best to fight it back. Because it wasn’t really polite to look so shocked. What the heck did she say to that? Probably best not to comment. She really wasn’t sure she wanted to know why this boy thought wearing clothes was strange anyway. She couldn't make a comment on socially acceptable with any comfort either so instead she simply jumped on the question he offered her. Much less awkward then talking about this boy she just met being a nudist.
“The cut off age for dragons is twenty two. So actually I had a few years. Cutting it close but I impressed Feyrianth the first clutch I stood for. She was actually the first dragon to hatch.” Her voice softened at the memory of the little green bouncing across the sand and straight to her. “She didn’t even so much as glance at anyone else.” Why should I have? You were clearly the best one on the sands. The dragon responded with no small amount of affection, dipping her head to lightly nuzzle her rider. Returning the affection with a caress the greenrider shrugged. “I don’t know if anything is really considered normal as far as impression? Some people stand for years before impressing or never impressing. Some people impress their first time. Sometimes the babies choose people who are just in the stands watching. I don’t think there is a normal way to go about it. If the dragon wants you, he or she wants you. Simple as that.”
Looking back at Casiloy as he stuttered Erilena giggled and hid an amused smile behind her hand. “Don’t really know about the honor part. But sure. You’re allowed. Feyrianth and I don’t mind. Except shoot. I don’t have any riding straps on me.” Mildly frowning she shrugged. “It’s safer with them, but Feyrianth is very smooth and she won’t let us fall. You still want to do it?” Without really waiting for an answer the greenrider stepped on Feyrianth’s offered foreleg and smoothly vaulted into place, settling herself before offering the candidate a hand.
“Have you ever ridden a runner? I’m told it’s kind of similar? You grip with your legs.” With a soft and encouraging smile she continued. “I’ll let you ride in front. You can grip the ridge in front of you too if you want. You can’t hurt her so don’t be afraid to grip her tightly.” Come Cassy. I will not let you fall.

(Super late and Exams killed my muse. That can only mean... THIS POST IS DOUBLY ATROCIOUS)
Casiloy laughed jovially as the green dragon nudged him, quickly continuing rubbing the hide on the dragon's chin. Such a friendly Dragon! He ignored the shock on Erilena's face when he tried to explain his dislike for clothing. It was quite alright if she didn't understand, because quite frankly, Casiloy could not understand how she, or anyone for that matter, put up with the distasteful garments.
Casiloy listened very attentively- something which was near impossible for the hyperactive candidate- making a mental note of the softening of the rider's features when she recalled the moment of impression. Was it like that for everybody?
He was promptly drawn back into the conversation when Erilena deftly mounted her dragon, climbing up smoothly, with Feyrianth's help, without the slightest sign of struggle. “I don't mind in the slightest,” Casiloy replied immediately, his excitement mounting. The lack of safety straps only added to the thrill he was experiencing.
“No I have not ridden a runner,” he told her, shrugging, “but I'm sure it can't be all too difficult. And... thanks again.” The blonde boy gripped the offered hand, and, with the encouragement of Feyrianth, clambered up.
Casiloy was actually pleased with the relative ease he was able to mount the green dragon. He took the ridge with his left hand, and turned around to grin cheekily at the rider. Come on, that had to be impressive. At least in Casiloy's mind.

As the candidate settled himself in front of her and turned back to give her a smile Erilena warmly returned it. “Not bad for never having done this before. Most people scramble a little.” He’d had help up but still. Tightening her grip on Feyrianth with her legs she forced herself to relax and let her hands hang on either side of the dragon’s neck. Smoothing her fingers over the hide absently the greenrider mentally reminded her green to take it slow and keep it simple. No straps sweetheart and we don’t want to hurt the boy. No never! Agreed the four winged dragon below her with sincerity before her head snaked back to lightly nudge Casiloy’s thigh. Are you ready my Cassy friend? The mental touch was soft, with an underlying tone of excitement, as her rider repeated the same words verbally. “Ready Casiloy?”
The green pair waited until the candidate have the go ahead. Twin pairs of wings rose as Feyrianth slightly rocked back and then sprung upwards with a forcefull push of her muscled hindquarters. A couple of beats from her wings and they climbed rather quickly into the sky and over the rim of trees that ringed the small clearing. The green climbed steadily for a few moments before she neatly leveled out and slipped into a tailwind allowing it to propel her forward with minimal use of her wings. With a couple more flaps she then angled her wings to catch the buoying wind and steadied into a glide. Could ride this wind for quite awhile. Especially with so much membrane to propel her forward. The four winged dragon was getting to be quite skilled in using the wind to maximum effectiveness. It extended her stamina by a great deal she noticed and she could use the winds in similar ways to increase her speed. Although for now the female was relaxed. Merely coasting. Enjoying herself. It wasn’t often that Feyrianth got to give people rides after all.
Relaxing a bit as her dragon leveled out Erilena stroked the hide beneath her fingers sending her soul mate a pulse of loving adoration. Looking out to either side revealed a sea of green tree tops, the sea broken here and there by the thinning of trees that marked a stream or small clearing. Leaning forward so she could be better heard above the wind the greenrider spoke. “So what do you think? Is it what you expected?” If the candidate had ever had a dragon ride before it was probably just a short hop between. Nothing like what real flight was. With a soft croon Feyrainth gave a slow flap. I can go faster if you wish Cassy? Feyrianth no straps remember? Take it easy. Reluctant acknowledgement followed that mental statement. Fiiiiiiine.

(Fail post again XP SORRY REI <3)
The candidate smirked, accepting the compliment without much tact. Yes, Casiloy thought, he was awesome, amazing, talented, any other adjective that was complimentary (not to mention slightly egotistical) He didn't mean to be self centered, but it was just so nice to receive compliments instead of strange looks for once! he realized his error fairly quickly, and dropped his eyes in apology. Casiloy grinned with excitement as he rubbed the hide of Feyrianth. "Very ready!" he replied in response to both dragon and rider.
Casiloy whooped with exhilaration as he green dragon spread her sparkly wings, throwing one hand in the air, with the other wrapped loosely around the ridge he was positioned behind. "This is... wow," he said breathlessly, turning to look behind to stare wide eyed at Erilena. She was so lucky, Casiloy decided, she could do this when ever she wanted. This was amazing, this was fantastic! They were...
Flying!
The poor hyperactive candidate couldn't focus on anything he was experiencing for more than a few seconds before becoming absorbed with something else. The feeling of the wind whipping with in his face, or the swooping sensation he felt whenever the green made a minute correction to her flight.
Casiloy had become so entranced with the flight that he almost jumped with shock when he heard Erilena's voice in his ear- something which could have been disastrous in this particular situation. When he possessed the question, he turned and grinned goofily. "It's... thank you!"
The blonde stroked the hide of Feyrianth, when he was addressed. Faster? Oh yes, Casiloy liked the idea of that. "Yes!" He said with enthusiasm.

Erilena couldn’t help but smile widely at the boy in front of her. It was pretty amazing wasn’t it? Like nothing else in her opinion. Wow pretty much summed it up adequately. Didn’t look like Casiloy had further words anyway. Tightening her grip on Feyrianth’s hide with her legs, when the boy in front of her jumped at her question, she gave a slightly nervous chuckle. Last thing the greenrider needed was him losing balance and taking him with her. They had covered fall procedure but…..well if he panicked it wouldn’t go well. Plus she had no straps. In a sense this was a very bad idea but as long as they kept it short and nothing went wrong they would be fine. “You’re welcome. I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. Feyrianth is smoother than most too.” In fact the green was actually was probably the smoothest dragon on Pern flight wise. In part due to her massive wings. She did have some advantages that others didn’t.
Yes? Erilena blinked at Casiloy's statement. Yes to what? She didn’t have long to wonder though because suddenly Feyrianth surged forward and angled upwards, all four wings driving her at a speed at was actually quite impressive. More wing sail to drive at the air gave her an advantage in more ways than one. Lift she could achieve near effortlessly. It was the hairpin turns and agility of her sisters that she lacked. But that was okay with Feyrianth. Fancy tricks may be outside her realm of expertise but none of them could hover as well as her or perform a dead stop mid air. At the apex of her climb the four winged green brushed warning against the minds of her riders and, with a deliberate disregard for Erilena’s misgivings, snapped her wings open and then drove them down to rise completely vertical before she stalled in a hover. A pleased croon emerged from her throat.
Through the entire little ride the greenrider kept her legs tightened against her dragon, her arms wound around the candidate in front of her as a sort of failsafe in case he lost his grip. Not that Erilena would have an easy time of holding Casiloy in place if he slipped but it was better than nothing. When they finally came to a stop the woman let go of her passenger and glared at Feyrianth, the dragon merely craning her neck before speaking. That was fun yes? When we have proper safety straps I should take you falling with me Cassy. Erilenamine still loses her stomach sometimes.
The greenrider wrinkled her nose at that and lightly swatted at the green’s neck. “I don’t think anyone ever gets used to the ground rushing up to meet them like that. Especially not on you.” Because Feyrianth took it far past the zone of normal physical safety for dragons. She was built different than other dragons so it wasn’t really dangerous to her, but still. It was more than mildly terrifying. Erilena was used to it but it even caused her to feel hollow sometimes. “No more reckless stuff.” There was a quality to the tone that had Feyrianth crooning apologetically. The dragon didn’t like to upset her rider not that she was really all that upset but there was a thread of slight disapproval behind the tone. Running her hand through her hair as the green continued to hover the woman prodded her passenger. “So where do you want a ride to? Back to the clearing or?” Least they could do was take the boy back to where he belonged. Much as she wanted to spend all morning flying it wasn’t exactly safe and she had other priorities besides.

A wordless scream of sheer adrenaline escaped Casiloy's lips as Feyrianth pumped her for wings, throwing herself upwards. This was amazing. Absolutely amazing. Casiloy gripped the green with his thighs, throwing his hands up in the air, a slightly reckless move seeing as there were no riding straps, but he had full confidence that neither Erelina or Feyrianth would let him fall to his death.
And just as fast as Feyrianth had begun her upward climb, the green dragon stopped, hovering in mid air, a feat made possible only by her strange mutation. Cassiloy frowned slightly, mutation seemed like such a dirty word, referring to something undesirable. In his opinion, the extra set of wings made Feyrianth more beautiful. She was the definition of stunning.
Casiloy patted the hide in front of him, slowly creating a plan to kidnap the wonderful dragon. Erilena was ok but four winged Feyrianth and her shiny hide obviously deserved better. That "better" was Casiloy. He wasn't sure how exactly it would work, but he really needed to get Erilena out of the way.
"That was fun indeed. Feyrianth, you must take me falling someday, promise?" Casiloy very subtly, in his opinion of course, left out Erilena in his response. It was as good a time as ever to start introducing the "Casiloy and Feyrianth" idea. Really, for this to work he just needed to nix Erelina.
Like all good things, this flight was brought to an end, but the blonde boy didn't mind. He had enjoyed himself, and made a new friend as well as a new acquaintance (yes he means YOU Erleina). "Back to the clearing would be just fine, thank you both again." Casiloy leaned forward on the green, resting his cheek on her and giving Feyrianth a nuzzle. Yes, he really really REALLY liked Feyrianth. Erelina? Well, she was bearable.

Feyrianth was on cloud nine pretty much. He liked her flying! Actually liked it. Eyes washed over in brilliant blues as she gave an elated croon. Erilena couldn’t completely stop the backwash of pleasure and happiness that washed over their bond like a tidal wave. Really she didn’t want to stop it anyway. The greenrider gave a soft sigh and smiled at the back of Casiloy’s head as he tried to get his promise from Feyrianth. Really it wasn’t fair to ask Feyrianth like that. Nor was it really fair for her to deny the green. Her dragon had this bizarre desire to share her flight with other people. R’ven had outright refused Feyrianth’s offers, although not unkindly, with easy to understand reasons. Dmitri had reluctantly submitted to her offers but the harper was still nervous and sometimes frightened upon her back. Casiloy was the first to express any pleasure with the green’s flight besides her rider. So how fair was it to deny Feyrianth her tiny bit of pleasure? Especially when the green put up with so much.
Erilenamine? Her dragon broadcasted privately. May I? Please? Someday. It doesn’t have to be today. Yeah. Just how was Erilena supposed to argue with that tone? Alright. Fine. You can take him diving but only with straps and not by yourself. Yay! Wings pumping effortlessly the green swung her head around to nuzzle the candidate’s leg in response to his nuzzle. Yes Cassy. I will take you falling. And it will be tons of fun! You watch! With that the green changed the positioning of her wings and surged forward again before banking towards the clearing they had left not long ago. Leaning forward and placing her hands on Casiloy’s shoulder’s as Feyrianth banked Erilena smiled. “You’re more then welcome. Hopefully one day you’ll be able to do this as often as you like.” Should he impress that is. What was wrong with giving the candidate a taste of one of the better aspects of being bonded to a dragon?
It didn’t take long for Feyrianth and her passengers to get back to the clearing. Dipping low over the tree tops the dragon effortlessly dropped into the clearing. Back winging to a stop her hind legs gently touched the ground before she sank into a perfect and effortless crouch to allow her riders to dismount. Stroking her dragon’s hide Erilena beamed. “Perfect landing as always.” With a happy croon Feyrianth stretched her large wings and then slowly folded them back against her spine, head swiveling to regard the humans as they dismounted. Turning back to Casiloy Erilena smiled. “I’m glad you had a good time. We’ll have to do it again sometime. I work at night but I’m awake by early afternoon usually. It shouldn’t be hard to find me when you want to take her up on her falling offer.” A hand reached up to caress Feyrianth’s jaw as the green lowered her head. “I’ll make sure we have straps next time.” Yes and then I can show you exactly what I am capable of. The four winged green remarked giving a happy wiggle before poking her snout at the boy again. Cassy. The latest addition to her human hoard.
