Wymuri woke with a groan. She was never going to get used to waking up after one of Jarcith's flights. It was like waking up with a hangover, only worse because she had no questions about what she had been doing. Well, time to see what the damage was.
She rolled over, completely unsurprised to find the man dozing beside her. She frowned through the clearing haze of flight lust. The longish brown hair looked familiar. Wyn had always been good at names, so it didn't take her long to figure it out. E'yan, a blue rider from her wing.
That earned another frown as flashes of the excitement came back to her, along with the memories of the other chasers. You picked the blue?! she shot at Jarcith in shock and accusation. Jarcith raised her head to rest it smugly on the light blue back of Kindrith. She said nothing and Wyn dismissed her sulkily. Shardin' dragons. Who could fathom what went through their minds?
Enough lazing about. Wyn reached for her clothes and gave E'yan a not so gently shove. "Mornin' " she said grumpily.

Kindrith fidgited on the stone, and lifted his own head, blinking for a moment. Then he crooned ever so softly and wrapped his neck around Jarcith's shoulders. Though likely no one knew it yet, Kindrith was infatuated and in love. Jarcith was his green, and forever would be. Glued to her like an earthmagnet, he'd not stray very far from her at all, without some serious prodding of duty. No more goldflights for him!! He lifted the near wing and draped it over her green back like a blanket.
E'yan didn't take much prodding to awaken, and he looked back at her just as soon as he figured out where he was. And then he sat up abruptly, looking over at the two dragons. For a moment he just stared, as if in shock, and then a huge grin split his face. Dumping back downward, he stuck an arm under his head. "Good morning." He said, cheerily, in reply to her grumpy contenance.
Kindrith had won! It was hard to beleive ... almost impossible to beleive. But the stubborn, big blue had finally won. And as much of a shock as it was, it was a weight off E'yan's chest. A substantial weight that he hadn't known was there, it had so gradually built up.
That potent, ever-present lust that Kindrith had been carrying around for more than a decade was gone. Completely. And there was also the knowledge that now the pale blue would be quite a deal easier to deal with. Not so grouchy, not nearly so insistant to chase every dragon out there, up to and including golds. Now, E'yan didn't have to worry for Kin's surviving flights.
At least ... for the next decade or so, anyway.
"Fancy meeting you here." he added, still grinning at Wyn.

Jarcith crooned lovingly at Kindrith's show of affection. No male had been so attentive after a flight before. Usually they were up and off without so much as a glance. As much as she didn't usually hold for such frivolities, she decided she deserved a little pampering after all these turns. She nuzzled the blue's neck in return. Kindrith was such a sweet blue. She hoped he would chase her again.
Wynmuri scowled darkly at E'yan. Trust a man to be so happy about the whole affair. She may have to put up with Jarcith's flight lust, but she did not have to enjoy it. She rolled out of bed, pulling on her shirt and paints as she did so. Wyn didn't believe in skirts. They were silly and impractical things. She snatched up E'yan's clothes and flung them forcefully at his cheerful face.
"Stop grinnin' like a fool and get out o' bed!" she scolded. Wyn was always more moody than usual after flights. Having so little control over her own body made her feel weak and she hated it. She turned to check on her dragon and rolled her eyes in disgust. The sight of the two caressing and crooning at each other was just too much. If it went on like this, she was never going to get rid of the silly pair.

Kindrith squinted his eyes shut again, happily, thrumming ever so softly in his chest. He was happy ... like he'd never been happy before in his life. And it was making him into a whole other dragon than E'yan had known. The blue was content to sit still and bask in the afterglow, snuggling with the green he'd been hunting for all his life. Tucking his snout into her shoulder, he exhaled slowly, content. His green.
E'yan didn't even let Wyn's mood daunt his. It was impossible. Nothing she could say or do would change that all of a sudden life looked a lot brighter than it had just a day ago. It was amazing how much the dragon's mood influenced the rider. He caught his clothes, before they could smack into him, and nodded slightly. "Alright."
He rolled to an upright seated position on the edge of the furs, and started dressing, though not in any particular hurry. "I suppose grinning like a fool is better than actually being the fool." He mused, aloud.
Voyager popped in, over head, chirped, and then popped right back out again, never having even flapped his wings once. E'yan wondered what the explorative young bronze was up to now, and kinda wondered that Rascal hadn't been with him.

Wyn had her back to E'yan as he spoke, but she didn't miss his comment. "Don't be so sure," she muttered darkly. He might just be a fool if he mistook her dragon's infatuation for her own. And what was he so cheerful for anyway? Hadn't the man's dragon ever flight before? Wyn tried to remember, but she didn't really keep track of flights except for Jarcith's. Her green tended to prefer older blues and sometimes browns. Kindrith was actually one of her younger suitors.
Don't get too cuddly, Wyn announced. It's not like he's going to stick around. It was always the same story. The male would get bored before long and leave. Jarcith would sulk, then pick a different male next time. Jarcith hummed in pleasure at Kindrith's attention to her before she replied. But he is sweet. "Hmph!" Wyn snorted aloud. Sweet?! Shardin' love struck dragons.
Wyn decided to ignore them for now, and returned attention to E'yan. He was certainly being slow about it. She caught a flash of bronze out of the corner of her eye, but when she turned to look it was gone. Eyes must be playing tricks on her, she thought. "Yah gonna take all day?" she asked impatiently.

"I might." E'yan countered. "I don't have anywhere to be." He turned, and grinned at her, before rising to his feet, now fully dressed. He stomped his feet a few times, to settle them into his boots, and then he looked toward the two dragons. The faintest of smiles appeared on his face breifly.
Why was he happy? He was happy because his dragon was finally happy. And seeing him so happy was a good thing indeed. To see that blue so content was a thing indeed! "Are you going to be long, Kin?" He asked, even though he knew the answer already.
As long as I can get away with. Kindrith replied, cracking one eye open slightly, revealing slowly swirling happy colors. Lifting his head slightly, he looked at Wynmuri, and then at his again. Tilting his nose downward, he huffed a warm breath on Jarcith's neck, humming softly. If you're hungry, I'll hunt for you. He offered. Even though he really didn't want to go ... but he really didn't want her to go, either.
Voyager popped back in again, and swirled down to land on Kindrith's shoulders. Shortly afterward, Rascal popped in, too, and landed on the blue's head, between his earknobs. The older brown flitter warbled once, peering down at Jarcith. This was new! Since when did thier big blue buddy have a green buddy? What they were seeing dawned on Rascal a lot faster than it did to Voyager. Seeing the two dragons so happy together reminded the brown of his own green joy. And he leapt back into the air, vanishing again, off to visit with Lamb and thier goose.
Voyarger creeled for a moment, sitting down. Why was Rascal always flying away?? Heaving a sigh, the young bronze soon followed suit, leaving the two dragons all alone again. And while they didn't bother Kindrith at all, he was glad they went. He didn't know if they bothered Jarcith or not, and didn't want her disturbed in the slightest.

Wyn eyed Jarcith skeptically. If she would just kick Kindrith out, that would solve everything. Well? she asked impatiently. Jarcith glanced at her rider over her mate's shoulder. She was looking entirely too amused and pleased with herself. Well what? When are you going to get rid of them?! Jarcith pretended to think about it. Maybe tomorrow. Kindrith has offered me breakfast, and I think I shall accept.
Wyn looked from E'yan to the dragons and sighed. She was fighting a losing battle, and she knew it. Even Jarcith was against her today. Curse that blue! Jarcith had never been so silly about a male before. It was ruining Wyn's whole schedule for the day. Shardin' males! Shardin' dragons! With a very reluctant and grumpy expression, she gave in. "Looks like I'm stuck with yah," she admitted darkly. "I supposed we'd better get some brekfast too." She ignored the random fire lizards. The creatures were just annoying.
Jarcith considered Kindrith's offer with a flirtatious flick of her tail. What a gentlemen he was! Truly she had chosen well this time. Even so, Jarcith wasn't used to being spoiled so much, so she settled on a compromise. That is kind of you, but I believe I would like to stretch my wings as well. Perhaps we could hunt together? After flights always left her ravenous. Even without all the hassle of egg laying that queen's had to put up with. Sometimes Jarcith felt sorry for her larger sisters.

E'yan watched the flickering and changing expressions flit across Wyn's face with a touch of amusement. She seemed awfully put out for some reason. He couldn't really fathom what ... surely it wasn't the flight. While the flight was a thing for him to be astounded over, he didn't see why it would affect her much. After all, her green was not a young thing. So it couldn't be that. He glanced at his own dragon, and noticed the way Kindrith seemed to be infatuated with the green. And the harper really could no blame him much at all for that. Not at all. And he was willing to let the blue sit and simmer for awhile in his golden moment of success.
"Breakfast? Sounds like a plan to me. But you're not really stuck with anyone. Not that I'm aware of, and most certainly not me." E'yan informed her, kindly. "If you want to be alone, that's more than easy enough to do. Just say so." He said, before offering her a hand. "But if you don't, I'd be honored to take you for breakfast." He added, with a light smile.
Kindrith stirred for a moment, and then rose gracefully to his feet, stretching as he arched his back. Relaxing onto his feet again, he reached down to nuzzle Jarcith again, he crooned softly before walking smoothly out onto the ledge. There, he furled his wings properly, and looked back at her, waiting patiently. I would be pleased to hunt with you, Jarcith. After you! He said, curling the end of his tail happily.
