F’lyn followed the beat with foot taps as Piper and Pandorath began the harmony. Piper’s rich fluting tunes blending in perfectly with Pandorath’s gentle humming. Clearing his throat, F’lyn began to sing, his rich baritone blending in smoothly with his mind mates.
The little queen, all golden
Flew at the sea.
To keep it back,
To turn it back
She flew forth bravely.
As she attacked the sea in rage
A holderman came nigh
Along the sand
Fishnet in hand
And saw the queen midsky.
He stared at her in wonder
For often he'd been told
That such as she
Could never be
Who hovered there, bright gold.
He saw her plight and quickly
He looked up the cliff he faced
And saw a cave
Above the wave
In which her eggs he placed.
The little queen all golden
Upon his shoulder stood
Her eyes all blue
Glowed of her true
Undying gratitude.
Upon finishing Piper gave a particularly low warble and spread his wings as if taking a bow. F’lyn chuckled as Terilyn squealed in delight and waved her tiny fists in the air. From her propped up position on F’lyn’s bed, she had been privy to the whole performance. In fact it had been concocted just for her. It was one of her favorite songs and Pandorath loved it to.
“You know boys we carry a pretty darn good harmony.” As if in agreement Terilyn gave another delighted squeal and giggled. Pandorath rumbled happily and touched his bondeds mind. If his hadn’t impressed he could have probably made a nice harper! F’lyn laughed at that as Piper launched himself into the air to crash land on the bed, drawing another round of giggles from Terilyn. The little blue loved to perform for the baby. He had quickly discovered that she loved his stories! Plus she was always a willing audience. What he needed was to get his brother and his bonded up here as well. Then they could put on such a merry show. Oh yes, yes, yes.
F’lyn shook his head at Pipers exaggerated antics and almost missed the knock at the door between the fir lizards excited warbles and the baby’s exuberant babbling. Frowning the Blue rider gave a sideways glance to his dragon. “Where you expecting company?” Pandorath cocked his head and replied softly. No he was not. Did he think maybe the gold rider had come to call? F’lyn thought about this for a moment before shaking his head in the negative. I doubt she would swing by without first asking. Pressing urgently on Piper’s mind to watch the baby, F’lyn strode forward and opened the door. He stared at the green rider in the hallway and gave her a soft smile. “Can I help you?” Who was she? Maybe she had accidentally gotten the wrong weyr?
