There was a lightness to Erilena’s steps that had been missing lately. Everyday her mood seemed to be improving and this latest opportunity for happiness appealed to her like no other. Savitri had invited her to come and see her babies and the weyrling had been excited all week. Now was the perfect time for a visit. Who could resist the draw of cute kids? Really. Feyrianth was likewise excited although Erilena had made her promise to tone it down a little. She didn’t want an over exuberant dragon scaring the kids with mind speech. Her green had been properly humbled by that. The last thing she wanted to do was scare the littles. She liked littles very much. They where so cute.
Despite the hot weather the greenrider was feeling good today. Things where looking up. Shifting slightly she mentally checked with Feyrianth before knocking on the door. The green was slightly upset that the ledge was too high for her to get to, but it was okay. She could still see the littles through hers and that would have to do until she could fly. Giggling slightly at the mental thoughts of her green Erilena shifted back and forth as she waited for an answer from Savitri. She was positive the junior Weyrwoman was in. However it just wasn’t polite to go barging in on people.
(Sort intro but at least it’s up :3)

Even without Shadow's assistance in seeing who was outside of the door, Savitri was fairly confident that the person outside was no one dangerous. In fact, the goldrider's instincts had led her to a correct guess as to the identity of the person seeking entrance. A person that much enamored with small children could only resist the offer of playtime for so long, after all, and the goldrider had to allow herself a satisfied smirk when the white salamandyr affirmed her suspicions. Erilena honestly had no idea what she was in for.
"Paaaaapa?" one of the children next to her trilled, the little girl clinging to the goldrider's knee. Keravi had been sitting in Savitri's lap just a moment before, but, fidgety as always, she had crawled out just as the knock sounded on the door. "Paaaaaaaaaapaaaaaa." Apparently, she wanted Ka'rys.
Savitri chuckled and ruffled the girl's dark hair, amused by the girl's insistence. "Come in. It's unlocked," she called towards the door, glad she had abandoned all efforts of working for the afternoon. It was impossible to get anything done with two crawling and toddle-walking mites terrorizing the inhabitants of her weyr. Of course, one terrorized out of love, but that did not make it any better for poor Fish, who was hiding in the furs and refusing to come out after having her silvery tail pulled by accident. Fish did not enjoy the little ones much.
"Sorry that I couldn't get up. Can't turn my back for a minute with these two," she confessed after the weyrling was inside and could hear her better. One of the goldrider's hands was busy keeping Keravi balanced, and the other was wriggling a firelizard doll for Samera to produce. The younger and quieter of the twins was eagerly attempting to lay hands on the moving bit of green cloth and stuffing. "They're... a handful. Come on over and sit down. I hope you like felines. We have four wandering around."
(Also short. Sorry!)

Erilena entered Savitri’s weyr a bit nervously. She didn’t quite know what exactly to expect. Savitri herself was a sweet person. At least the weyrling thought so. But you could never tell how a mother would react when around her children. The woman smiled brightly at the sight of the two little girls. They where so precious. Quickly the greenrider padded over to the gold rider and her brood. Crouching down she cooed softly to Keravi. “Hello little one. I am Erilena.” Reaching out she ruffled gently at her hair before turning to Savitri. “Felines are fine they don’t bother me at least.” Really they didn’t. Despite never having a furry pet of her own she did like the ones she had met so far.
“Oh dear twins and four felines? I bet things get really busy around here for you. I can see why you have trouble answering the door.” She replied before plopping down on the ground as bidden. Savitri needn’t have worried. Erilena had prepared herself for a visit with the twins. She frequently visited the creche as well. She just adored children and they all seemed to quickly take to her as well. It was rare that the woman found a child who didn’t like her. “They are simply adorable.” The weyrling said happily offering her arms to Keravi, who was the closest. “Which one is which?” She queried with a bright smile.
In the back of her mind Feyrianth cooed happily, sharing the vision of the twins with her rider. Oh the littles are simply adorable. Will you tell Hepaticath’s that? Hepaticath is lucky to be able to have two littles. Can we have a little mine? Oh please. I would like my own little. Erilena laughed at her green’s mental barrage. Turning to Savitri she smiled. “Feyrianth wants me to tell you that you have wonderful ‘littles’. She says Hepaticath is lucky. She also wants her own little.” Erilena made a face at the last part before answering her dragon. Darling why don’t we just share other people’s littles for now? We don’t have the space or the time for a little. Besides you need a mate to make a little. I don’t have a mate remember? Feyrianth seemed to consider this for a moment before relenting. Ok I guess. She replied sounding only slightly upset.
Erilena shook her head with humor before turning again to Savitri. “How do you get anything done? Between Feyrianth, lessons, chores, and the infirmary I feel like I’m losing my mind some days. You surely are busier than me. I mean with Hepaticath being egg heavy, the construction, the infirmary, and all.” She turned to the gold rider with a smile. “Poor thing I bet you need a good break.”

It did not take a highly observant person to see the light that came to Erilena’s expression at the sight of the little humans. Savitri’s own expression softened, her contentment and satisfaction unable to be contained. Since her weyrmate’s unfortunate… incident… it was only solitary time with her mindmates or her children that had her truly happy. These times were precious, for there would come a time when her babies wanted to be away from her, sad as the thought was.
Nodding in response to the greenweyrling’s query, the goldrider lightly stroked her younger daughter’s hair, aware of the fact that both twins had halted in their respective occupations to stare at Erilena. “It’s a little chaotic,” the young woman commented mildly, unable to resist being flattered by the compliment to the twins. They were her children after all. Sure, they tended to look more like Ka’rys than herself, but they were still hers. She had contributed. “Thank you. The one that’s about to throw herself at you is Keravi. The other is Samera. Kera and Sammy, for short, and- Keraaaaa!”
True to form, Keravi had freed herself of her mother’s restraining hand and toddled the three baby-sized steps to Erilena, flinging herself against the young woman with reckless abandon. “Haaaaaaaaaai,” she drawled in what could’ve been a greeting, her pudgy fingers clutching mercilessly at the weyrling’s shirt. Haha. She had caught the newcomer! Now what, though? She bounced lightly on her feet, wobbling precariously with all the gracelessness that only the very young could pull off with any dignity. “Eeyee.”
Eeyee. What a name. “It appears you have a new name,” Savitri chuckled, wriggling Samera’s firelizard doll across the floor to entice the girl to crawl after it. It took very little time for the infant to fall for the bait, given how much she enjoyed tracking things in motion. The greenweyrling’s words surprised her, and though she made a genuine effort to keep a straight face and not look too amused, her eyes betrayed her. “Tell Feyrianth ‘thank you’ for me, please. You’ve got plenty of time to have your own… little.” She tried to look somewhat reassuring at that. “Plenty of Turns later for it. Besides, the creche always need help. And… you know you’re welcome here. Kera has adopted you.”
Claimed, more like it. “Oh, I don’t get everything done. I prioritize, and what I can get done, I can get done,” she commented somewhat wearily, wishing that she hadn’t given up on wishing for her weyrmate’s memory to return. Wishing accomplished nothing, but occasionally entertaining a fantasy of it had been pleasant, if a bit depressing. Ah well. Nothing to do there, she reckoned. "World-weary at twenty-three Turns. But... enough of that. How're your lessons?" Because she didn't want to talk about upsetting things.

Erilena nodded at Savitri her eyes however remained trained on the young children taking in their names easily. Keravi and Samera. Kera and Sammy. Oh Faranth they where just too adorable. Chaotic was probably a nice way of saying insane. Smiling brightly as the little girl threw herself at her Erilena scooped her up and Eskimo kissed her. “Hello Kera. You can call me Lena to it you want. Eeyee is good to through.”
She laughed and bounced the little girl before settling her on her lap and turning back to the goldrider. “It’s okay she can call me whatever she wants to. Can’t you angel?” She cooed. The comment about her green had the weyrling smiling brightly. “I’ll definitely tell her. I’ve momentarily distracted her from the topic by telling her I don’t have a mate yet. With any luck she’ll forget about it soon enough.” Making a face the girl laughed and watched the other twin crawl across the floor in pursuit of the doll.
Bouncing Kera again Erilena made a funny face at her before turning her attention back to Savitri. “I used to go to the creche a lot before I got caught up in the infirmary. A few of the kids called me Len. Apparently it’s easier to say then Lena or Erilena. It’s cute the nicknames they come up with. I’ve never been called Eeyee before though. I kind of like it.” She giggled before shifting Keravi so she could stand again if she chose to. Titling her head the weyrling weighed the goldrider’s words. She did sound horribly busy. “Well if you ever need time to yourself for an hour or so I’d love to baby-sit.” She offered smiling at the little girls. “Really I’d like it a lot.”
“Lessons are going well. Darya isn’t really that bad. At first I didn’t like her but really she’s awful nice once you get past the gruff exterior.” Erilena smiled and then frowned. “As far as actual lessons Feyrianth and I are doing well, but, well we had a gliding lesson and she refused to budge. I couldn’t get her to jump the hill like the rest of them. She was afraid. I don’t know exactly why but I could catch that it had something to do with her differences.” The weyrling frowned and shook her head. “I don’t know why having four wings instead of two would make a difference but she is scared that she won’t be able to fly like the rest. Now we are behind. I want to try doing it when it is just us but if we make a mistake I don’t want to be without help.” She looked up at Savitri and smiled softly. “I don’t know what to do. Easiest would be to just ask Darya but I don’t want to upset Feyrianth anymore than I need to.”

Kera’s enthusiasm in rubbing her nose against Erilena’s left no doubt in Savitri’s mind that the infant was enjoying her new playmate. The goldrider chuckled lowly at the sight of the older of her children latching onto the weyrling, knowing that it did little good for Erilena to suggest an alternative nickname. The infants had a limited vocabulary, at best, and they used only the words that they liked. Was Kera going to change her mind and her name for Erilena? Unlikely.
“Dragons are stubborn creatures, though thankfully some of them can be reasoned with. Once she can fly, she can come visit too. Hepaticath says she doesn’t mind,” the goldrider laughed, amused when Samera made a clumsy pounce for her toy. “Clever girl…” The infant was quickly scooped up and snuggled against the goldrider’s chest, eliciting giggles and coos from the little girl. Samera was very easygoing for something so young. After a moment, she set the girl back on the blanket to let the infant sit and cuddle her doll, watching the scene with eyes made gentle by emotion.
Erilena’s offer made her glance over, the corners of her mouth curling upwards into a faint smile. Brave little weyrling, wasn’t she? Two children were a handful to handle, especially two so young. “I’d appreciate that, though I’d never take you away from your own responsibilities. You’ve got plenty to keep up with as it is.” And, oh, did Savitri remember those days well! “Kera seems to have taken to you, though. This is the longest she’s kept still for in awhile, but—oh, well, never mind.”
No sooner had the goldrider uttered her observation than Keravi had began to wriggle in Erilena’s arms, the little girl chanting “Eeyee, Eeyee” repeatedly as she attempted to set her feet on the blanket. One of the felines had slunk over to the blanket and was lying there in a cuddly heap of black and orange fur, and Kera was angling to go poke at her. Vira was a patient feline, thankfully, and despite Samera patting indelicately at her feet, the creature was disinclined to fuss. Kera wanted in on the action, though, it seemed, and so she was attempting to wriggle off Erilena’s lap. Nice Eeyee could wait. There was a furry thing to pat at.
Not wanting to insult Erilena’s intelligence when it came to young children, Savitri merely shook her head, her expression anything but concerned until the younger woman brought up her problems with weyrling lessons. A frown began to form on the goldrider’s face, her head inclining slightly to one side as she listened to the explanation. Feyrianth was… afraid to fly? That made sense, she supposed, given that the dragon was different in comparison to the rest. “Maybe… have Feyrianth talk to Checkoth? He does very well with two tails. Darya is an excellent resource. Dragons can have fears and worries just like us, and young dragons are like young children. If you two need to work alone with Darya and Azrath, then that’s what you have to do.” Savitri was just practical that way, though. She smiled in an attempt at comfort, her fingers lightly stroking at her younger daughter’s dark hair. “Feyrianth doesn’t have to be afraid. Hepaticath was the clumsiest flier of the bunch until she was fully grown. It took forever for her to master it.”

Erilena held Kera carefully and alternately turned her attention from the young girl to Savitri. “Oh Feyrianth would love to come visit them eventually. I am glad Hepaticath is okay with it.” The weyrling smiled before stopping to watch Samera pounce for her toy. It was so funny how clumsy and endearing children where. They grew up much to fast in her opinion. Much, much to fast. The greenrider looked up from the little girl on her lap just in time to catch Savitri’s smile and she smiled in return. “Yeah I suppose I do have an awful lot to do. I barely have time for my friends currently.” Then Keravi was struggling to get off her lap and the woman laughed before gently setting the girl down on the floor. “She’s like a little bundle of energy.”
She titled her head and watched as the child began to toddle off towards the feline and her sister. Good thing the feline seemed to be the tolerable sort. Although she supposed most mother’s wouldn’t allow intolerable pets around there children. Savitri looked to be very fond of her kids so Erilena wasn’t too worried. She was distracted from the children by talk of Feyrianth. The weyrling crossed her legs to sit more comfortably as she listened. When the goldrider had finished she nodded. “Checkoth? I will have to try that. She hangs around the infirmary while I am there sometimes. I’ll talk to R’wign and ask first.” She nodded and then let her eyes roam back to the children. Yes she could ask Darya and Azrath as well and she probably should. But well they where really busy with the others and she felt bad about taking up the older woman’s time. As weird as that sounded.
Erilena raised her head just in time to catch the goldrider’s comforting smile and she smiled in response. It would have to work itself out one way or another. Feyrianth would be so upset when her classmates got off the ground and left her behind. They would have to eventually glide. There was no way her little four winged dragon wouldn’t be able to fly right? Feyrianth had to believe that she could to be able to do it. The comment about Hepaticath being a clumsy flier caused the weyrling’s eyes to widen. “Hepaticath was a clumsy flier? No way. She’s so beautiful. I can’t imagine her ever being clumsy.” A quick check with Feyrianth found the green napping and so Erilena was content to give her full attention to the goldrider and her children.
