Onyth dove down through the air and whipped around, changing direction in a flash of movement and coming down on the wild herdbeast’s back with a sickening crack. As the dust cleared the dark green, wings outstretched, stood over her prize. Her tongue flashed out to rasp against the animal’s fur, making sure it was quite dead before she left. The female grasped her meal tightly in back talon’s and made her way back to where her bonded was patiently waiting for her. Gliding further into the large clearing Onyth back winged to stall near Elysia and dropped to the ground. The greenrider looked up at her dragon and gave a light smile. “Only one today love? You ate light last week to. You are nowhere near fat. Why don’t you indulge a bit? The wild herds around here are still very nice.” Onyth gave a rumble before dipping her snout to tear into her meal. I do not need two. One is plenty. There where other dragons feeding in the area as well after all. She had seen telltale signs and had no wish to deplete the herd more than was needed. The feeding grounds had been ignored by the dark dragon since she arrived. Only weyrlings, the egg heavy and the infirmed need feed there when there was plenty of wild game to be had. Elysia on this point had agreed and so they often made forays into the pasture lands speckled throughout the jungle to hunt out.
Speaking of other dragons hunting, a shadow passed over the pair and Onyth growled viciously in response. Her wings dropping to half cover her meal as teeth flashed in a mild warning. Elysia gave a smirk. A violent entity her green was in certain situations and meal times where one of those. No Onyth would not ever outright attack another over a meal, but she was possessive of hers. Quite so. She may fuss and posture but no harm would come to anyone over proximity to her food. The benden rider however was curious as to who it was and shielded a hand against the sun to catch sight of blue hide. Hmm. She did not recognize this particular one on sight. Tapping her fingernails against the surface of the rock the greenrider was perched on, she brushed reassuringly against Onyth’s mind.
The green gave a violent snort in response and buried her muzzle into her food, ripping and tearing with obvious viciousness. Messy her darling was not usually but right now her dragon was being intentionally violent to her food. The desire to rend and tear being taken out on her food instead of the hide of the unknown blue. Easy does it love. The greenrider cautioned as she waited to see what the blue pair would do. They where undoubtedly Selenitas. Even mildly familiar. She had seen the blue before. Where?

That one was mine, Futh said, more bemused than anything. I've been watching that one for like... well, I'm not sure. Time. Some time. Banking left, the Blue watched as Onyth dispatched her meal, grabbing a thermal to get a little more altitude. It was mine, wasn't it?
Do you even need another one? M'kai asked, jogging far below his sky-blue dragon. You already had one, and it's not like you don't have a little extra around the tail end. Leave off or catch another one, ok? Futh snorted, banking to the right now, passing over the clearing where he spotted his competition. She's so green she must have matched the forest, and I matched the sky. Neither of us could see the other one. She couldn't have done it on purpose, right? Down below, M'kai slowed slightly, trying to figure out what his dragon was worried about now. Futh, are you trying to rationalize her stealing your kill? She took it whether she saw you or not, you don't have to apologize for her. Just get another one. But she - Just do it.
Futh took his rider's advice, tucking his wings and taking out a slow female herdbeast without a second thought. The blue might not be the most agile creature ever, but his extra weight made his dives quite impressive. Once the beast was well and truly dead, he took a dainty bite, careful to get not even a speck of gore on his hide. M'kai changed direction, headed north now, planning to meet Futh just as the blue finished. Few people liked watching dragons eat, and while M'kai wasn't exactly squeamish and Futh was the opposite of messy, he liked to avoid the feeding process if at all possible. Running was much better, especially with scenery like this. He was warm now, despite the sudden shift to winter, with a faint sheen of sweat on his forehead and damp hair pulled back at the nape of his neck. They were a pretty good way from the Weyr, after all.
Of course, he also wasn't expecting to see anyone before bathing back at the Weyr, so stumbling on a pretty black-haired woman was kind of an unpleasant surprise. What was more unpleasant was the dragon just past her, tearing into some unfortunate beast with a vengeance. Found your Green, he told Futh, calculating whether he could slip back in to the jungle before the Greenrider caught sight of him. Her back was to him, but... ah. The green seemed to have noticed him, game over. My green? Futh asked, clearly excited. She was pretty, I want to meet her. M'kai sighed and entered the clearing all the way, raising a hand half in greeting, half to shade his eyes from the sun. Alright, bring your food, Fuffle, we've got dining companions, he said, mental tone more resigned than anything. Elysia got a "Hey there," and a half-wave. Only seconds later Futh arrived, landing carefully as far from Onyth as he could. No need to invade her space when he was just meeting her. That's a lovely looking meal, he offered, tearing another careful strip off his prey's side. There was no malice in his tone, just interest. I'm Futh.

Onyth whipped her head around as Futh landed. A low growl sounded in her throat but the sound lacked any real venom. It was noted that he intentionally put distance between them and this clamed her ire a little. Tail whipping back and forth, like an agitated feline, the dark green slowly folded her wings and shifted to face the large blue. Hunching over her meal she half parted her maw her tongue flicking out to lap a little of the spilled blood. Onyth was unconcerned with the blood staining both claws and muzzle. Her head tilted at Futh’s words, the color of her whirling eyes a soft red. Green however was quickly filling in and dominating the angry color. Thank you. It is a most satisfying kill. Lowering her head she ripped a chunk of meat from the carcass and tipped back her head to swallow it.
Bringing a forepaw forward to again tear at the dead beast’s hide she crooned. I am Onyth. Well met Futh. Mine tells me that you chased me once before. You’ll have to forgive me for not recognizing you at first. Like all dragons Onyth didn’t remember much of the past. Only what she could pick from the memory of hers. Hers remembered the rider all right. Even remembered him from Benden dimly. Claws digging into her meal she lowered her head to tear off another chunk. As long as he kept his distance the green would tolerate Futh for the duration of her meal.
Elysia was highly amused by Onyth’s reaction to the whole ordeal. Crossing her leather clad legs she titled her head allowing her unbound dark hair to fall over one shoulder. Once perfectly manicured eyebrow rose at the greeting she received and she fought against snorting. One of the red twins. She remembered them from Benden. Yes she did. He father talked of them on occasion. Crystoph and Mikail. Now both impressed and at Selenitas in fact. Surprise of surprises. Hmm doubtful they would remember her. After all Elysia herself had only seen them in passing and couldn’t remember speaking to either. Candidates weren’t her usual prey after all. Now a bluerider this one, and if she remembered correctly his twin a bronzer. Tch what a waste his brother must be. Uncrossing her legs the benden rider leaned forward, hands on her knees and low cut shirt intentionally giving him a decent view of her cleavage through her unzipped riding jacket.
This one had been a participant in one of Onyth’s flights. That much Elysia remembered clearly and he had been so interested then. Maybe he still was? Worth testing at least. Playing a little maybe. Nothing serious of course. She now had a weyrmate. It was odd how she didn’t find that word strange sounding anymore. Yet the fact that she was weyrmated to a wherhandler still was not public knowledge. Preferred to keep it that way did Elysia. “Hello there yourself. Out for a run?” Dark eyes ran over M’kai’s frame lingering on certain areas before flicking up to his face. “I apologize for Onyth’s bad temperament. She doesn’t like dinner guests.”
Which was just a tad bit of a understatement. “I do hope your darling blue is not easily offended?” Shifting she threw a glace over her shoulder at Futh and her green before turning her attention back to the redhead. “You can come closer you know. I don’t bite like she does.” Her eyes narrowed playfully. “Or rather not near as hard as she does. At least not usually.” Her hand came up in a come hither gesture to try and draw the bluerider closer. “I apologize for her table manners as well. Onyth has always has been something of a sadist with her food.”

Onyth! Of course, how had he forgotten? Futh's eyeridges lifted, and he hummed deep in his throat. Of course, of course! Onyth! I did not recognize you either, it has been some time since I've seen you around the Weyr. You picked... Saboth, no? Futh recalled, pulling the memory out of his bonded's head. So she liked little twirly blues - Futh wasn't bothered, he was better to cuddle with, anyway. Less sharp angles. The thought of F'lix and Saboth brought a slight tightness to M'kai's smile; he never liked it when people showed up the hard-working Futh, and Saboth had done it twice so far. The bluerider was not M'kai's favorite person. Seen much of Saboth since the Flight? the blue asked, delicately extracting a kidney and slurping it down. So tasty. He settled back on his haunches, picking through the final scraps of his meal and watching Onyth out one eye to gauge her tolerance of chatter. And how are you and Yours doing, these days?
M'kai seemed distracted, at best. The neckline of Elysia's shirt was given a cursory glance, then his eyes shifted back to Onyth and her meal. It wasn't her manners that were the problem (although they were atrocious when your dragon ate like an enormous, several-ton bird); Onyth reminded M'kai of Kyrahth. Of course, that begged the comparison of A'emi to Elysia. Not that there were necessarily similarities; Elysia was a woman, for starters, which gave her about 600 points in her favor. M'kai, however, tended to prefer his women sweet and brainless, at least when he wasn't in flightlust. Elysia appeared to be neither of these things, and if his scattered memories of the Flight were anything to go by, that was an accurate assumption. Needless to say the redhead was slightly on edge.
"A run? Oh, yeah, I guess so," he offered, eyes flicking back to Onyth again. "More like jogging, really. I go on my real runs in the early morning. And Futh is a big sweetheart, Onyth couldn't offend him if she tried," he added, bringing up another mental image of Kyrahth. What Futh saw in that nasty Green was beyond M'kai, but that could have to do with the rider. Biting. A'emi. Ugh. "If you bite even a little, I think I'll stay over here, thanks," he replied. He had clued in about halfway through, though - he was so unused to women flirting (it seemed to be all men these days) that he'd almost missed it. Anyway, he let his voice soften towards the end, adding a touch of a smile and coming over to lean against a bit of Elysia's rock despite his proclamation. He was at a right angle to her now, looking up at her profile. Onyth was partially obscured, Futh to his back left.
Leaning out to see the Green rip another big chunk out of whatever was left of her carcass, M'kai shifted his attention back to Elysia. "Her manners are fine, being clean is just one of the only things Futh is good at," he stated matter of factly. Then, in a half-hearted attempt to get into the mood Elysia was apparently in (she was pretty enough, that was for sure), M'kai went on, "Onyth looks like a well-formed dragon, and if I remember correctly, she was quite talented in the air. Any correlation between dragon and rider? Besides looks, I mean." That last got a crooked smile and a falsely sweet tone, smoothing over the obvious compliment with humor. He'd have to see if she was going to bite, though, before committing to staying any longer.

Picking at her meal Onyth’s attention was divided equally between the blue, the rider oh so close to hers, and the carcass between her talons. Ever alert for signs of aggression was the dark green. Futh’s words and movements however hinted at neither and so the green allowed herself to relax slightly. Speaking during meals was never something the green did usually and so such a thing seemed a bit odd to her. Nevertheless Onyth was polite is nothing else and the blue’s attempts at conversation where suitably returned. Yes.. It was Saboth that I chose. The warmth in her words could not be denied. Liked her blue she did. Very much. Unlike some greens Onyth had no problem with claiming another and keeping him to herself. Her half blind blue was only one example. At benden the green had also chosen a mate for the duration of his life before picking another. This seemed to be a habit of hers and unless Saboth strayed to chase another or died she would continue to favor him. That being said Onyth returned to her meal, ripping another chunk of muscle out with unneeded force and working it with teeth before dipping her head back and swallowing.
Whirling green eyes examined Futh as he again spoke as if considering, tongue flicking out to lick daintily at one bloodied talon. I see Saboth often enough. He used to be a permanent resident at my ledge until his lost the worm. Since then he comes around occasionally. The green gave a light snort. It wasn’t as if she could blame her blue for his concern over his. She would be much the same. Hence why she refused to allow hers to get a worm. They where not liked very well by Onyth. Not at all. Dementia in fact was only tolerated out of necessity. A queen worm anywhere near hers meant at some time worm babies near hers. This was not a comforting thought. Mine and I are well enough.
Such slow polite conversation was starting to bore the green, who preferred her conversations more on the interesting side. Swinging her head back over her meal to pick at what was left she gave a draconic shrug. Yours seems well enough. Although it could only be a matter of time before he wasn’t. Playing with hers was dangerous. In more ways than one. Abruptly Onyth pivoted her body to place herself between Futh and the riders on the rock. More as a safety net than anything else. The dark green was more than confident that she would be able to outmaneuver one chubby blue. If such was needed of course. Stretching her neck out she gave a croon. Tell me what do you and yours do for fun. Maybe they where not boring all the time?
Elysia regarded M’kai through half lidded eyes. The bluerider was a bit of a bore wasn’t he? Plus he wasn’t showing her the level of attention she pretty much demanded. Humph maybe he was bisexual and preferred males. Most bluerider’s tended to swing both ways. Pity. Throwing her dark hair back over her shoulder the benden woman kept her eyes on M’kai looking for subtle hints as to the reason for his behavior. The rider’s examination of Onyth caused her to pause in thought. Maybe it was her feeding green that was making him to jumpy? Sad if that was the case. Onyth was not the worst feeder in the world. Her table manners tended towards the bad side but there where far, far worse out there. “It is good that your Futh is so sweet. Onyth wouldn’t lift a talon unless he seemed violent towards her or sought to claim her meal out from under her. Mild mannered she is. Unless certain circumstances present themselves.” Let M’kai wonder what those circumstances where. A fighting dragon Onyth had been born as and she would remain that way until she died. Nevertheless she was also polite and affectionate to those that she liked. It was blood, ichor, and the sounds and sights of battle that changed her personality dramatically from mild to nasty.
Lazily Elysia watched M’kai as he neared her rock despite his comment that he would rather keep his distance. Strange one this bluerider was. He seemed to contradict himself on purpose. The reason behind such action the benden rider didn’t care to know really. The younger rider was merely a distraction from her current level of boredom. His words however caused a light laugh to emerge from her throat. “Oh we are both quite well formed. Talented to. In fact I consider myself an artist in ‘flight’.” The last word was practically purred at M’kai, her eyes sparking in a bit of amusement. Flight obviously meant something else the way she intoned it. Typical male. She was going to enjoy toying with him if he kept that up. If he got pushy after all Elysia knew herself to be quite capable of not only shutting him up but knocking him down.
Rules of the game where simple. She was the game master and he was a pawn. Hand suddenly coming forward she tucked a finger underneath the bluerider’s chin tilting it up towards her. “Are you as polite as your Futh? Or is there a bit of nasty underneath you both that we have yet to see?” Releasing him the benden rider slid off her rock and arched in a stretch that could be compared to one a contented feline would perform. “Tell me if comparisons can be made between me and my darling Onyth what comparisons can be made between you and your lovely. I’m curious.” Dark eyes flicked to M’kai’s grey ones. Dance puppet dance.

Onyth would see no aggression from Futh, something she seemed aware of. Futh had never been tense, but he was glad to see her relax, and was consequently glad that he'd asked about Saboth. I am sorry for his loss, Futh offered, then with a touch of cheek, added, And yours. No dragon of your beauty should be left alone on her ledge. He held no ill will towards the Blue, although of course he would have liked to win Onyth's flight as much as he would like to win any Green's flight. Deciding he was done, Futh got to his feet and tossed the rest of the carcass into the forest, as was his habit - an offering to the wild flits and Whers and felines who were chased away from the feeding grounds and Weyr herds. Settling back to the grass, Futh rubbed his muzzle against the winter-browned ground, attempting to remove imaginary blood from his muzzle.
The Green's sudden pivot caught Futh by surprise, and he arched his neck, ready to hop to his feet if necessary. It wasn't, of course, so Futh relaxed a little, considering offering a wing to snuggle under. If Onyth WAS anything like Kyrahth, however, she wouldn't want to cuddle. The blue simply adjusted his wings instead. He'd feel her out a little more before inviting her closer. For fun? he echoed, cocking his head to one side before settling his head on his paws and returning her croon. Mine likes to run, and I fly. I have been working on tricks and turns - my agility is not the best, as I'm sure you can imagine, and I am trying to become better. We were going to the beach and the river a lot while it was so hot, but since the weather has turned, not so much. That is a shame; the beach has so many shiny things, I like to take them home when I can. I also like to sit with Kyrahth, when she will let me, and cuddle with her if I can. That one is much more rare, he said, ducking his head in the dragon equivalent of a blush. Just listen to me blather on. What is it that you and Yours do outside of Training, Onyth?
"Futh is just about the nicest dragon I've ever met, unless you get him dirty," M'kai offered. Futh shivered mentally at the thought, curling his tail tighter against his flank. "Otherwise he's just a big softy, although he's never been in a situation where he has to fight. Tends to stay calm," he added, furrowing his brow as Onyth cut off most of his view of Futh. What was she doing, there? Well, he wasn't worried about it, not while all it took was half a thought and he was seeing through the Blue's eyes. He supposed he'd better pay attention to Elysia, if Futh had both eyes on Onyth (which he obviously did). Something about the pair made M'kai not trust them; vague familiarity, perhaps? Then again, he hardly trusted anyone these days. He blamed A'emi. And maybe K'lir, come to think of it.
But that was not important, at the moment. Elysia had taken his hint, and quite eagerly as well. "I've been told I'm no slouch myself," he claimed, shifting as she tilted his chin up so he was leaning a shoulder against the rock and looking directly at her rather than having to turn his head. "And I'm fairly certain Futh is the only one of the pair who doesn't like getting dirty, if the situation calls for it," he added. That double entendre should be enough answer for both of her questions about his politeness. He stayed were he was as she released him and slid off the rock, appearing at most half interested as she stretched for his benefit. It had to be for him, right? No one stretched like that on a regular basis. M'kai allowed a hint of a smile to turn up one corner of his mouth - enough so she knew he was interested and playing along, but not enough to hand all his cards over right away. No reason to put all the control in her hands just yet. He could still walk away if she was totally toying with him.
Figuring he'd put it to the test, M'kai adjusted his stance, 'accidentally' moving a little closer to the Greenrider and attempting to catch the glance she flicked at him with a casually seductive gaze of his own. He kept his expression light, though, quirking his smile a little wider. "Comparisons between me and Futh? Well, as you can tell, he's a pretty big guy..." M'kai was tall, yes, but it was clear that he wasn't referring to his height. "I'm also unfailingly gentlemanly after the fact, as is my Blue, and I love to cuddle." That last bit wasn't exactly true, but M'kai didn't mind, and his delivery made it clear that she was supposed to laugh. "Oh, and my backside is my best feature," he added, almost precisely at the moment that Futh shifted around, trying to subtly give Onyth a better view of the purple spots scattering his backside. The dragon stopped mid-movement, shooting a death glare at the place where he knew his rider was. Are you calling me vain? Futh asked privately. Never, M'kai replied, and if that wasn't dripping sarcasm, he didn't know what was.

Onyth rumbled lightly as Futh commented on Saboth and his rider. Yes shame on both ends it seems. The dark green offered in a conversational tone before lowering her head to examine the remains of her meal. Satisfied that almost everything edible was consumed she set herself to cracking the bones to get at the marrow within. All the while the female kept her body between Futh and the riders and her attention completely on the blue. Whether Onyth was focused on his words or movements however was up for debate. Either way the dark green was paying attention and she knew the appearance of such is all that often mattered. Especially to young males. The rubbing of his muzzle against the ground to removed impossible traces of blood amused the green and Onyth flexed blood stained talons in response, lifting them to drag her tongue along them in a move that might be considered seductive to a human. To much time spent around hers apparently.
Tail flicking idly as Onyth rose from the remains of her meal the green set herself to washing her talons one by one, flexing the sharpened ebon weapons as if to display them. Futh’s words where considered for what they where. Idle chatter. The dark female wasn’t one for words without a purpose but she wasn’t rude either. Besides hers wanted to play with the rider of this Futh, and if anything Onyth was very indulgent to her rider’s whims. In almost all things anyway. There where places where even the green drew the line. Not out of spite of course but out of a desire to protect. This desire to protect was only one of the reasons the dragon disliked hers interacting with Kyrahth’s rider. She did not trust the fort born pair at all.
To the light blue she did offer pleasantly. Exercising with yours can indeed be fun. I am sure you will get better in time. You are young. Also a bit hefty on the weight side but Onyth close to diplomatically not mention that fact. It was highly unlikely the portly blue would ever be agile in flight. Ah the enthusiasm of the young. It was okay though. Like any other dragon with age came maturity and one day he would try to work around his physical shortcomings rather than attempt to overcome what nature intended of him. Comments on the beach and such things as shiny objects where ignored as unimportant.
Mention of Kyrahth however begot a soft hiss. Be careful Futh. Kyrahth would just as soon as bite your muzzle as lick it. There was enough venom in the comment to make it glaringly apparent that Onyth’s opinion on the other green was not good. If the tone was not enough indication the small line of annoyed color whirling though her gaze made it glaringly apparent that she preferred not to speak of the other female. Instead the dark female focused on the question proposed to her. Elysia and I do much out of training. Mostly things that appeal to us. Interacting with those we consider 'friends', sunning, swimming, hunting. Normal things mostly. Occasionally we might challenge another Benden pair or a wingmate in a sparing match. Most of those born at this place do not normally interact with the likes of us. Surely you understand? You where born here after all. We are unsavory to you are we not? Talons tapped the ground briefly as the green curled up and folded her wings against her back. The words where offered in a polite even tone, no hint of aggression present but perhaps a bit of curiosity.
Elysia gave a slight smile as M’kai started blathering on about his beast. The old tricks till worked get a man to talk about his dragon and he will bather on and on for candle marks. Tossing her hair back the Benden rider put on an interested expression although most of what he was saying went in one ear and out the other. Useless chatter. She really did not care about Futh’s preferences or temperament. It was M’kai’s part she was interested in. If he was a big ball of sweetness and purity like his blue she had no interest and even less use for him. Pity. He resembled his brother enough though that she wondered if there where any similarities in temperament between the two. If there where it would be a simple mater to break Cr’oph someday. Not that she had any plans to do such currently. No use she had for the weyrling bronzer. No use at all.
A seductive smile took over her features at M’kai’s returning words. Liked getting dirty did he? Experienced to hmm? Probably not in the realm of sexual preference that Elysia danced in however. Not everyone was into pain and torture, even less where into games of domination. Almost a pity. Almost if she had been lacking in a partner, which she wasn’t. That need was fulfilled quite well. In the end the bluerider before her was good for nothing but play. Glancing over her shoulder the greenrider noted the smile but didn’t obviously react. No need to look interested just yet. His loss after all. Watching M’kai adjust Elysia let a hint of amusement touch her expression. Size comments? Really? What kind of girl did he take her for. She wasn’t as easy as she came off. As those boys she made eat dirt when they dared make a move quickly found out.
Pivoting around Elysia put a noticeable sway in her hips as she circled the bluerider listening to him speak and arching an eyebrow once at the comment about his backside. Tch wasn’t that great. She’d seen better but no need to burst his bubble just yet. “Like to cuddle hmm? I’m afraid I’m more of a rough and tumble type myself.” Definitely. There was only one person she had /ever/ cuddled with and it certainly wasn’t something she’d gift on someone as unworthy as this one. “Not much for the honorable types either. They come with too many preconceived notions. I like the ones who are willing to push boundaries..” Lightly she trailed her fingers up his chest. “Make things personal...” A finger stopped under his chin to tilt it upwards. “and generally don’t balk at a little pain. Tell me love what turns you off? I’ll tell you why it’s so very wrong to be afraid.” The last words where given in a seductive purr that M’kai would have to be paying complete attention to if he hoped to understand. Just as suddenly as she’d touched him however the greenrider’s palm found his chest in a shove, Elysia using enough force to send him back a few steps before she fixed those dark seductive eyes on his form again. Her right to touch when she chose. He didn’t get the same benefits.
Onyth watched in confusion as Futh swung his rump in her direction. Just what was he doing? Tilting her head she let her eyes fall to his rump and then back to his head. Inwardly the female debated before just outright asking. Why are you showing me your backside? Curious this chubby blue was. Perhaps he was a little off?

Kyrahth? I think she bites more often than she licks, figuratively, at least, Futh corrected, his tone much more gentle than a sentence like that should have been. He did sound appropriately wistful, however. Futh might like greens of all shapes and sizes better than... well, anyone, but he did have favorites among his favorites, and Kyrahth held that place for now. He'd forgive her just about anything... at least until he found another dragon who won his affections. He just wished she liked cuddling more.
Turning his attention back to Onyth, he listened closely. Unlike the Green, the Blue was truly interested in whatever she had to say, and was happy to show it. As such, he did not even pause to think in answering her question. Unsavory? No, of course not. You are simply dragon pairs, just like the rest of us. Then again, Mine came from the Other Place - Benden, I suppose - so while I am a Selenitas dragon and M'kaiMineLove has no love lost for that weyr, we do have a connection. Perhaps we are not the norm. He considered the problem for a moment, looking at it from her angle. Do you find us... less than welcoming? Or objectionable for some other reason? he asked, trying to figure out what that reason could be. An interesting question - while Futh was aware of the Dragon War, he'd been too young to be involved in any fighting, so far. Needless to say, he didn't think about either the war or the politics involved too often.
"Well, you asked about similarities," M'kai said, twisting sideways to avoid most of the momentum of her shove without even blinking. He didn't even un-cross his arms. Futh's gentleness and innocence might be an aspect of M'kai's personality - the blue had picked him for a reason, after all - but M'kai was much more complicated than his dragon (and Futh was much more complicated than he seemed). "Not differences. Futh and I are far more different than we are alike," he added, resisting the urge to stalk towards her and pin her against the rock. What he did when he got her pinned was still up for debate; he was leaning towards 'kick her ass' as opposed to 'tongue down throat', but that could change at any moment. It was the indecision that kept him talking, anyway, oscillating between amused and annoyed.
"What turns me off?" A'emi. "Not much, really. I prefer blondes, but that doesn't mean I don't like a good brunette on occasion. Kids of any kind, in any way, anywhere nearby. My turn-offs are much less interesting than my turn-ons, I assure you," he added, tone dry. He couldn't quite figure out what to do about Elysia - she was older, obviously, and far more aggressive about... whatever it was she was trying to do than M'kai was. She knew what she wanted. Unfortunately, M'kai didn't - if he did, he could help her out, but as it was, he was either going to take things in to his own hands (bad for Elysia) or leave. Futh was done, and if she wasn't going to cooperate, M'kai was too. Last chance, Elysia.
Futh paused mid-adjustment, looking back up at Onyth. Showing you my... oh no, I was just getting more comfortable. Did you notice my spots? Maybe Futh WAS a little off. Who knew.

Onyth was totally and completely ready to drop any and all topics and discussions involving Kyrahth. To this effect she quite purposely ignored Futh’s comments and reactions concerning the other green. Not worthy of mentioning that female was. Topic change please and thank you. The dark green almost wished hers would hurry and do whatever it was she wanted to do with the rider. The chubby blue was starting to annoy her and she very much wanted to go find Saboth. At least he wasn’t a bore. Perhaps she was biased towards the half blind blue but at least he knew how to have a proper conversation. Her tail tip twitching in a dismissive gesture she turned whirling green eyes back towards the young blue.
I find you southern pairs neither unsavory nor particularly unwelcoming although there are those who look upon us with distaste merely because we have drawn ichor. The green responded a she finished cleaning her last talon. Flexing it into the dirt she snorted. To be honest I miss Benden a little. At least there we are not looked upon as monsters. We merely fulfill the duties our riders put on us you see. She arched her neck to spare a glace at hers. I will not lie to you I get a certain rush out of tearing into my enemies but the violence is needed to remain alive. If you hesitate they will take advantage. Up north you see it is a game of survival. Down here it is the same but to a lesser degree. Onyth rumbled softly. I miss the old pairs I used to talk to. There are not many here who see things the way I do. Very few. Saboth understood at least minimally and perhaps Innocenth, although she did not talk to the dark blue so often.
Elysia half paid attention to M’kai. If he was going to play the ignore game she was not above doing the same. Attention was earned, not always freely given. Dark eyes flicked over the red head’s form and she smiled the expression almost predatory. “Hmm suppose I did ask for similarities. But you see similarities will also give me a clue as to your differences.” Besides Onyth was talking to Futh and the greenpair where bonded close enough that what became knowledge to Elysia became knowledge to Onyth and vise versa. There was never any blocking with the pair except in flight. And flight room blocking was almost a necessity when you grew up at Benden. Carefully the benden rider watched the younger man looking for subtle changes that would clue her into the fact that he was making a move. He seemed to be under the false impression that he could also be a predator. Sorry darling only room for one and you will be the loser.
M’kai’s turn offs where in a sense boring. He preferred blondes? Nice so he liked the ditzy girls who he could screw once and toss aside. Not surprising really. Also no babies or kids nearby. Who in their right mind did such things around children anyway. Maybe he didn’t quite get her question. Alas she was quick becoming bored. The bluerider hadn’t resisted any of her attempts nor did he have interesting reactions to her questions or movements. Tch. This wasn’t to say Elysia disliked him or anything. Merely that he bored her and this put him neatly in the category marked safe from torment. Lucky him. The dry tone M’kai had made the delivery of info in did not escape her notice either and she gave him a half interested look. “Hmm Yes I am sure they are very amusing.” She repeated in just as monotone a voice. So very not amused right now. Sad really the greenrider initially had high hopes but not everyone could be amusing.
Onyth tilted her head as Futh replied to her question. Oh yes I did notice them. Was her simple retort. Lots of dragons had marking after all. She herself sported a lighter green dorsal stripe and eyeliner. Some had extremely flamboyant markings. Butt spots where not so rare she didn’t think. Rumbling the green yawned. Hers was bored. Good maybe they could leave now?

I see, Futh offered contemplatively, attempting to look at the problem from all sides. I may not sympathize, or agree - I certainly have never had those instincts - but I see. When the stakes are higher, so is the enjoyment you can get from it. I don't see why anyone would call you a monster, just for keeping yourself alive and doing what you are told, however, he added, still pensive. Futh could be a thoughtful Dragon when he wanted to be. Surprisingly so, to many.
M'kai, on the other hand, was quickly becoming bored. Shutting down, you could say. Why was a total mystery to him - Elysia was plenty attractive, and seemed for up for something (although what that something was was still a bit of a mystery). It was pretty clear to M'kai that all he had to do was play along, something that was rarely a problem for him. He just... wasn't in to it. Plus, as hot as she was, she was still old, and obviously wanted the upper hand. Usually M'kai didn't mind giving that away, but then again he was usually pretty sure he could take it back. With her, it was clear that if he yielded even a little, that would be the end. Not something he was looking forward to.
And... end of conversation, apparently. M'kai let the silence after her last statement drag, forcing intentional awkwardness but not letting it touch him. He continued to lounge, looking her over, then glanced over in Futh's direction. We're gonna need a quick exit, Fuffle. You ready? Futh grumbled an affirmative, then returned to basking in Onyth's attention (he was not even remotely aware that she was as bored as her Rider seemed).
M'kai allowed his eyes to pause on Elysia's shapely bosom for a second before he flicked them up to meet hers, affecting the same kind of half-bored, forced smile she had. "Well, lovely to meet you, Elysia, outside of Flight anyhow. I hope we can do this again sometime." All the seduction that had been in his voice earlier smoothed over into irony. To add insult to injury, he leaned in (moving fast enough that she wouldn't be able to stop him, only to avoid) and planted a chaste kiss - the kind you would give your ailing grandmother - on her lips (or whatever was where her lips had been). He flipped a hand up over his shoulder as he walked away, calling "Ta-ta!" as he hopped Onyth's tail, heading for Futh. He used his long legs to his advantage - while it may look like he was strolling, he was actually moving at quite a good speed, putting a lot of distance between himself and Elysia quite quickly.
Do you like them? I - Futh asked, but he cut off there, feeling M'kai's approach. Ready, he commented solely for his Rider's benefit, although M'kai hadn't quite reached his Blue yet. Any second now!
