Raylin opened her mouth intending to tell the rider that Aonith had been perfectly pleasant, when the dragon shoved her rider sending her stumbling. The candidate had to hurriedly close her mouth to keep from laughing as she was sure the rider would find the laughter quite rude. She managed to compose herself before the rider turned and asked her a question.
Raylin strode over to the rider and smiled faintly only slightly nervous as the dragon’s antics had quite effectively broken the ice so to speak. “I am Raylin, Candidate Raylin of Selenitas Hold. I don’t think I caught your name?” Her voice was light and happy. Surely the dragon and rider were similar? She seemed nice enough.
((epic fail xD))

Dorava smiled up at the girl, and then managed to get to her feet. "I'm Dorava. Of Aonith." She gestured slightly at the green dragon over them. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Raylin. You can call me Do, if you want. Some people do."
Aonith rumbled, and stretched out along the ground, padding her front end forward as she laid out, thus ooching closer to the two females. She nosed Dorava gently, earning an impromptu hug from her. Then she turned her head slightly to nudge Raylin too, just as gently.
"Might I ask why you two are way out here this early in the day?" Dorava asked, curiosly.

Raylin smiled at Aonith and scratched at her eye ridges. Saeo had told her that dragons adored that kind of thing. She then turned to Dorava pausing in her scratching. “Oh I always wake up this early to bathe. I dislike bathing with the other girls in the bathing rooms. They are too noisy and loud. The river water is always nice and cool too. It is a nice contrast to the heat of the barracks. The girl’s barracks are unbearably warm at night.” She paused and continued her scratching of Aonith.
She was rambling but the rider didn’t seem to care so she took a breath and continued. “I always watch the sunset after I bathe if I get up early enough. Aonith said she would like to watch too. Then Tr’esn showed up. I never did ask him why he was up so early…” Raylin trailed off. Wow was she rambling. She smiled at Dorava. “We didn’t break any rules did we? I am sorry for the long explanation. I tend to ramble sometimes.” She grew quiet then and concentrated on eliciting pleased responses from the dragon. Shards she could be dim sometimes.

Dorava's eyebrows ooched upwards. The river? Cool? "That thing can be down right icy sometimes. 'Cool' is an understatement, I think. But hey ... if you like that sort of thing, be my guest." She grinned slightly. "You'll certainly start getting the attention of the boys, you keep that up, though. Just as a warning." Most definitely ... having had a cold bath was a very hard thing to hide.
"Sunrises are pretty." Dorava agreed, smiling simply, as she joined in the ridge-scratching. "I don't generally get to see them, though ... I tend to sleep through them more often than not. Just too tired to get up that early, I guess." she shrugged nonchalantly.
Aonith rumbled happily at all the attention her ridges were getting ... ahhhh! That felt good! The eternal itching that went on there was quickly being cured! Beaten back like it properly should be! She huffed, blowing bits of dirt around under her snout, eyes drifting shut slowly.
The rumble woke up someone else, though, and Val stuck his little blue head out of Dorava's pocket. He looked around a bit, before flaring his frill at the green dragon that had awakened him. He hissed, and then withdrew back into the pocket, moving around until he was comfortable again. Dorava totally ignored the 'mandyr's moving around, rather used to it. And Aonith pointedly ignored the little creature.

Raylin pursed her lips at the mention of male attention. “No one is up that early but now that you mention it Tr’esn was here this morning…..” She trailed off. Adjusting her schedule was not something she wanted to do perhaps she would just find a less occupied stretch of the beach.
It dawned on Raylin then that the rider’s statement could have a double meaning as certain physical aspects made themselves more clearly pronounced with the cold. The candidate blushed hotly. “Well I am always warmed up before I get back to the barracks so I doubt that will be a problem. But thanks for the warning.” The color had started to leave her cheeks as Aonith’s sweet breath wafted over her.
Raylin caught sight of the blue mander as he hissed and then returned to the dark comfort of the rider’s pocket. “Ah you have a mander? My friend Saeo wants one.” The dark haired girl shook her head. “Myself I am not partial to the little things.” The candidate turned toward the now orange and red sunrise then and noticed how high the sun had become.
Shards! The girl gave one more pat to Aonith’s great head and then bowed shortly to Dorava. “I better get going before someone notices my absence. It was nice meeting you and of course you to Aonith.” The girl smiled before spinning around and trotting back along the path toward the beach and her waiting boat. This morning had ended up better than most she had made the acquaintance of two new dragons and perhaps made a few friends. Yes weyrlife seemed to suit her well.

Dorava watched Raylin go, and then looked at Aonith. "Now see what you did? You ran her off!" She teased, patting the dragon's snout affectionately.
I did no such thing. You're the one that just showed up. Aonith bantered in return, crouching down so that hers could clamber on. Once Dorava was seated nicely, the two started up the trail in the other direction, off for a morning stroll in the semi-silence of the jungle.
