After many a wrong turn and a few run ins with mandyrs Asharra finally steps into the infirmary. As she glanced around she noticed the place had an intense busy feel. Perhaps it was even more busy than her outpost in Light Tower Hold. Once again she wondered why she would be sent here when it seemed this place was well established? No matter, the Master Healer had his orders...and his reasons.
She felt the different stones of her necklace between her fingers as she walked further in. Releasing the necklace it settled once more beneath her tunic. "Hello? Is a healer present?" She called out.

Leaping from his position on the medicines case, the mandyr glided down onto a chair near the woman who came in. Tilting his head to the side as he raised his frills, the little Blue hissed. Redwort! Redwortperson! REDWORT. He let his mind touch his human's, warning him that there was a new twolegger thing in the room. He was being helpful! See? He was telling his that there was a sillyoldhuman. Leaping off of the chair to glide to another, he continued that pattern until he disappeared into the crack between a set of curtains. Landing on his pet's shoulder, Nuisance bit down on his ear.
"Nuisance!"
Streaking out of the curtain, the Blue Mandyr made his way back onto the medicine case and out of the way of his pet. BADANGRY. REDWORT.
--
Stepping out from behind the curtain holding his ear, the Brownrider looked up from the chart he had been holding. His eyes immediately picked up the disturbance that had caused his Mandyr to come and get him, the woman was the only other person standing up after all. Every other person in the infirmary was either too sick to stand or asleep. Tucking the scroll into the pocket they had sewn into the curtain, E'rro wove his way around the cots and over to the woman, his face void of emotion like always.
"I'm one of the Healers on shift at this hour, what can I do for you?" He wasn't very happy that he had to deal with this woman, she obviously wasn't sick and it didn't look like she was in any pain. He still had many patients he had to check up on and R'wign was going to get on him if he didn't complete by them by the time he came back. He wasn't a Human healer, but given the shortage of attending Healers, he had been given special training for the outbreak of poisonings. Though he mainly dealt with updating the charts and everything that went with it.

Kalierre strode through the infirmary in search of E'rro. She had a curious little idea, but any idea was better than none and if she could check it against his charts and it panned out, she could then run the idea past R'wign and see what he thought. He was the resident herbalist, after all. He should know if the theory made an ounce of sense.
The woman thought she'd caught a glimpse of him when that aging voice called out, looking for a healer. Kalierre suppressed a sigh. At least with S'lain, Jermayan and R'wign she'd had the chance to get some decent sleep recently, though she'd like to devote more than a few broken moments here and there to ferreting out the source of the posionings. The dragonhealer and unofficial head of the infirmary at Selenitas Weyr made her way toward the woman who'd called out. It was in truth a rather pleasant surprise to find E'rro already there. Saved her the trouble of further searching.
"There's always a healer present," Kalierre commented as she drew up alongside E'rro. Her clothing was practical as ever, but more flattering to her figure thanks to K'von's influence - namely, she liked to look good when there was a chance that her brownrider might see her. Now, she cocked a brow curiously at the older woman. "Why don't you sit down? E'rro." Turning to him, she nodded to his charts. "Do you mind if I take a look at those?" She directed a smile at the woman. "I'm Kalierre. Was there something we could do for you?"

Asharra's eyes widened in dismay as a chubby gliding thing swooped down and landed on a nearby chair. She watched it suspiciously as it hissed. Her eyebrows furrowed to complete the frown on her face. Beasts running free in an infirmary? It never was a practice she approved of. She relaxed her face into a calmer expression as the salamandyr made his way to the back where a male's voice was calling "Nuisiance!"
She watched as the black hair boy came out and addressed her. Not boy...a little young but not a boy.She corrected her earlier thought. He didn't seemed to happy to be disturbed. Oh well...yet before she responded to him another person came over.
She looked over the young woman and smiled. "I am glad. I had heard your infirmary has been unfortunately busy. I am Master Healer Asharra transferred from Selenitas Hold to work with you." She glanced around at all the full beds. It seems the Master Healer wa not exaggerating. She would keep her distrust of these dragon riders in check as much as possible. Or at least... she would try.

"Yes Journeywoman." Separating the charts which he had completed from the ones he still had to update, the Brownrider handed them to his Senior Healer. A small change in weight on his shoulder announced the reappearance of his Mandyr, who had pretty much forgotten the fact he had been yelled at. Not bothering to look at the little Blue as he crawled back and forth across his shoulder, E'rro read and committed to memory the next patient's name he had to check up on.
"...I am Master Healer Asharra transferred from Selenitas Hold to work with you."
That made the Brownrider look up from his charts and glance at Kalierre. Not that he necessarily cared for the Senior Journeywoman, he didn't want some old woman from a Hold rolling up and taking over Selenitas's infirmary. A Hold's infirmary had to be far different from a Weyr's, and he had gotten used to the regiment that the Greenrider had established. Frowning at the thought, E'rro quickly reeled in his mouth and returned his face back to the blank slate it had been. All he could do now was wait for Kalierre to excuse him back to checking on the patients.

Kalierre had directed her attention almost immediately to the charts E'rro had handed her, nodding her thanks, when Asharra's words penetrated her consciousness. Her eyes stopped on the word she had been reading. What was that? Master Healer? Although Kalierre had been constantly plying Healer Hall to send someone to Selenitas Weyr with enough experience to really run this infirmary (she herself was a senior journeywoman in both healing and dragonhealing, but she also was a dragonrider, and things just got to be too much around here - especially considering Selenitas was the only Weyr that didn't have at least one Master Healer) she'd all but given up hope that he'd ever comply. Healer Hall seemed to be firmly in the control - and in favor - of the north.
Her eyes came up, and this time she truly took the extra few moments to look the woman over. A Master Healer that she hadn't heard of...which meant...what? Just that Asharra likely didn't have experience (or at least recent experience) with a Weyr. Benden she'd know for sure, and Fort she was fairly sure she'd also know the healers there. Of course Asharra hadn't been at Selenitas, at least since Kalierre arrived a few turns past. "We've been needing some more experienced blood desperately," the dragonhealer replied finally, extending a hand to Asharra. That was the epitome of understatement. Unfortunately, Kalierre's cynical streak lurked somewhere in the back of her mind, whispering that if the MasterHealer had sent Asharra, there must be something wrong with this older woman. It seemed clear enough that he had no love for the south - and no interest in aiding them.
Glancing at E'rro, she spoke softly. "You may leave if you wish." Of course, Kalierre didn't actually mind if he stayed, but she didn't want the young man to feel uncomfortable. This was more than just a little awkward. At the very least, Kalierre probably should have been notified about Asharra's arrival by Healer Hall. That she hadn't...the implications there weren't particularly distasteful. Her eyes fell back on the older woman. "I presume you have your transfer papers with you, Master Healer?" Of course, Asharra technically would rank her at the infirmary in matters of healing, but Kalierre was also a dragonhealer, and there was nothing inherently wrong with asking for transfer papers.

Asharra watched the two healer's expressions as her words sunk in. It made sense to her now. She had had to make her own way here. There had been no dragonrider to offer a courtesy flight to the Weyr. No one in the Main Hall had even glanced at her. No one in the infirmary seemed to knowshe was coming. She gave a small sigh. "I take it he never informed the Weyr." That wiley old ----- is up to something. Pulling stunts like this. "Here are the papers." She said kindly to Kalierre. "Have you been in charge of the infirmary Journeywoman? I would like to see how you have everything set up." The MasterHealer has a strange sense of humor...
Her eyes traveled back to the Salamandyr the little blue creature was perched on the boy's shoulder. For now she let it go.

Crossing his arm across his chest in a quiet salute, the Brownrider stepped quickly away from the two females and unrolled his charts once more. Strangehuman. Redwortredwort. Deathperson. Nolike. /Wait what? By the way he phrased it, it sounds as if theres a new Healer about?/ A Master Healer from Selenitas Hold has been transfered by the HealerHall. /If that is a good thing, then why does little Bluepet worry?/ He's worried? /Or nervous, or unsure as to what to think of the woman. Probably the latter... Its hard even for me to interpret Mandyr speak./
Tucking the scrolls into the small cloth bag that hung off one of his shoulders, E'rro made his way over to the flat tabletop near the back of the infirmary. He had to re-sterilize his hands and his diluted solution of Redwort and towels he carried about in his bag had run out, due to forgetfulness on his own part. Folding the clean cloths and placing them in his bag, the young Rider began mixing up a new batch of the diluted Redwort. He noticed their preprepared herbs where getting low, making a note to check them after his rounds. Finishing up with the batch, E'rro checked to see if his runnertail was still tight before depositing half of the solution into a small jar and scrubbing his hands with the rest.
Using one of his cloths, he dried his hands and tucked the more portable jar into his bag before making his way over to the next patient to be checked up on. He still had many patients to check up on...

The senior journeywoman...senior in both healing and dragonhealing fields, which wasn't particularly common, although climbing the ranks tended to happen swiftly during times of war in the setting of the northern weyrs...took the papers from Asharra and glanced over them. Plenty of holds. The woman had certainly put in the time, hadn't she? Southern Boll. Lightower. Selenitas. Kalierre looked up from the sheaf, fixing the older woman with a lingering, probing gaze. "No. I've received no word from Healer Hall except what Master Ninian cares to tell me - and that not very frequently." Master Ninian was almost like a father to Kalierre. He was eccentric, passionate and some thought he might just be a little crazy. But she knew of no better healer save possibly the Master Healer himself.
Asharra's question caught her a little off-guard, though. Technically, the aging Master who never seemed to make it out of his furs was in charge, but in reality he hadn't so much as graced the infirmary with his presence in months. Kalierre smiled at her own discomfort. Well, of course she was the senior dragonhealer at the Weyr, regardless, so maybe that's where Asharra was getting it from. "Since Trenlor died," she stated softly. "We're a bit understaffed, though not as bad now. Senior journeymen healers are myself and R'wign. R'wign's young, but he's from Nerat, and I've never met anyone as good with herbs and poisons as him, even at Benden Weyr. Senior journeymen dragonhealers are myself and S'lain. S'lain's solid. Selenitas-bred...been around dragons all his life. My experience is mostly as a first-response healer/dragonhealer at Benden Weyr. We also have a junior journeyman, Jermayan, who heads up the healing apprentices on the night shift, and E'rro specializes in bone and tissue."
The woman paused and smiled slightly. "Not that we'd expect you to know who everyone is right away. I guess the important bits are that I'm the Weyrdragonhealer here, and R'wign's acting as our Weyrhealer. We've got a rash of poisonings that he thinks might be related to grains, but they're so intermittent it's hard to pinpoint...and that's beginning to die down now that Weyrleader T'rid has stopped taking tithes." Kalierre gestured to a seat again. "Are you sure you don't want to sit down?"
