Humans:
Name: Vellani
Age: Twenty-four Turns
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Greenweyrling
Weyrmate: R'men of bronze Weith
Physical Appearance:
There’s nothing immediately extraordinary about the girl. She stands at an average of five feet six inches. She’s a rather petite girl, thin all around. She looks rather delicate, even though she isn’t. She is very curvy and has the kind of body most girls would kill for, she knows this, but just doesn’t flaunt it like she might be expected to.
Her legs are long and lean and her arms are toned from years of decorating silk scarves. Her skin is pale though, having spent most of her time inside working for her father. Her hair is one of the most remarkable parts of her appearance, aside from her eyes, it is long, lustrous, wavy and blond, falling to just below her shoulders. She likes her hair most of all and always makes sure that it is presentable. Her eyes are also quite pretty, not the color of her eyes so much as the shape of them. The color is nothing to be sneezed at; a very pale blue almost edging into hazel, but undeniably blue. Depending on the lighting and how she’s standing, they can seem almost sky blue at times. The eyes themselves are slanted almost like the eyes of a cat and are very large and expressive. Her eyes are easily the prettiest part about her.
Comfort is something Ani values a great deal, so she isn’t the type to dress up whenever she can. She does recognize the value of dolling up sometimes though and enjoys it as much as the next girl…as long as it isn’t an everyday thing. She doesn’t have much in the way of a fashion sense, but whatever she wears just seems to work regardless.
Personality: Vellani is a bit of a double sided coin. Her main face is sweet and caring. She is a bit of a social butterfly and is never shy about talking to strangers. This is one of those girls who wouldn’t mind entertaining a large group of confidants and friends. She’s just essentially easy to get along with, mellow and laid back most of the time.
Most of the time. It takes a lot to anger the girl, not like walking around on eggshells at all. Instead, when she is angered, her temper is something to be reckoned with. She has no problem spitting out venom and saying just the right things that she knows will hurt her opponent. This probably stems from her bottled up resentment for how her father treated her, but for the poor soul who triggers this in her, it all comes pouring out and hits them in the face. It wouldn’t be odd for Ani to get into a fist fight with someone who has wronged her, and she’ll fight with wild abandon. It might be odd to see this petite little blond fighting, but she can be quite the scrapper when provoked.
All fighting aside, Ani can hold a grudge very easily, and she isn’t exactly soft spoken, so whoever it is will know in no uncertain terms that she finds something wrong with them. Depending on the severity of the infraction, it can be incredibly difficult to get the girl to forgive them. It’s not impossible, though, and can be done.
Despite the fact that she seems to get along with a lot of different people and can have large groups of friends, it takes a lot to really get to know Ani. It isn’t that she’s ashamed of her childhood, she just really does blame herself for the death of her mother and doesn’t look forward to her friends thinking that she’s a murderer, so she has to make absolutely certain that anyone she tells is a true friend and that they aren’t going to judge her or abandon her. She’s extremely paranoid about abandonment, and this is one of the main reasons why it takes a lot for her to let someone in. When they are in though, Ani is an extremely loyal friend; protective and outspoken.
Romantically, Ani just doesn’t know what to do with herself. At Blossom, she spent most of her time working on silk cloth, so she never spent too much time around males. She has no idea how to flirt and probably wouldn’t even if she could. She knows when a guy is flirting with her though, but she isn’t big on leading them on. Even so, she’s susceptible to manly charms just like the next girl and boys are the one thing that can make her lose the quiet air of confidence that is surrounding her at all times. If she likes someone, she might not flirt with them, but it’s still glaringly obvious because she’ll be clumsy and awkward and just not herself at all. Eventually, as with all things, Ani will know exactly what she wants in a weyrmate and will not accept anything less than what she deserves.
History: Ani was born to one of the major silk exporters in Blossom hold. Her mother and father were good people who made gorgeous silk that people paid top dollar for. Unfortunately for the child, her mother had encountered a fatal complication during the birth. She didn’t make it past the child’s first hour of life. That left Ani’s father to care for his only child. Unconsciously, he blamed the beautiful little blond girl for her mother’s death, whether or not he actually realized it.
Almost as soon as she was old enough to understand, Clemarc put his daughter to work. At first, she did small things. Soon, she seemed to have an aptitude for artistry and became very talented at decorating the silk cloths that her father made. Despite the fact that she was making more money for her father than he ever thought possible, she could not get him to praise her. In fact, he never did praise her once the entire time that Ani was young. This caused her to want to do better, to act out to get his attention and to make something so completely gorgeous that he wouldn’t have a choice but to tell her she did a good job.
See, Clemarc still blamed his daughter for his mate’s death. Of course if she hadn’t been born, then she would still be alive. It didn’t seem to matter to him that it wasn’t the girl’s choice to be born. He had loved Velliana very much and he was still grieving deeply over her death. There was just no way he could look at her…murderer with the kind of love the girl craved. After a while, Ani seemed to realize why her father didn’t seem to love her and stopped trying to impress him, instead she made her scarves and cloths and the two of them had an extremely strained relationship for the longest time.
Until she was searched. The green who had searched the girl almost passed over her, but realized that the weyr needed all the strong candidates that it could get, so they decided to take her with them. At the last possible second, Clemarc realized that he had been treating his daughter wrong, and he apologized to her right there before the search dragons before she was whisked away to Selenitas. It seems that she came right in the middle of a hectic time for the weyr when not only the river was poisoned, but Fort Weyr attacked Selenitas.
3015 - Stands at Millieth's desert hatching, is left standing. Hates the wastelanders for culling the deformed dragonets, but can't really hate that well. Oh well.
3016 - Meets Samael and becomes friends with him. Crushes on every boy in the weyr, especially Ae'on and Er'ani. Is a crazy little neurotic bundle of nerves and is afraid of salamandyrs. Meets X'vier and his salamandyr passion. Becomes friendly with the older man and helps him learn to dance in private lessons. Falls in love with Passion. Actually manages to impress a blue firelizard she names Sammy. Is pretty pleased with life.
3017 -- There's an earthquake, she gets hurt, but not too badly. Manages to make the move to Burimyu and is able to stand for Millieth's billiard hatching. Gets mauled by Yeomenth and Gweneveth, but surprisingly impresses Gweneveth. Er'ani makes sure she's alright and that she gets to the infirmary. Samael inexplicably pulls away from her after this and it makes her sad. Sammy dies in a plague. Adopts a puppy named Axle.
3018 - Gweneveth meets bronze dragon Weith and the two bond. She engineers a meeting between riders and Vellani meets R'men, unsurprisingly crushes on him. The two get closer. Gweneveth has her maiden flight, but Weith is busy with he and Nitrath's eggs so he can't chase her (WHO WILL WIN) catches her instead.
3019-3023 -- Not involved in the war much, but ends up getting a lot closer to R'men. They weyrmate and move in together. Soon after this, she gets pregnant and freaks out because she'll make an awful mom. Has Valerian and realizes that with R'men's help, she can be a good mother, even if she's often busy and he ends up in the creche. She and R'men get shipped up north to the new weyr. Things are good. Mostly.
Dragon
Based off of: The Warrior Maiden
Name: Gweneveth (Gwen-neh-veth)
Age: 1<
Color: Green #30BE28

img.photobucket.com/albums/v402/caranmir/Gweneveth.gif
Appearance: Maidenly is a good way of describing this Green, at least in her looks. Pleasantly thin, Gweneveth is a picture of beauty. A slender arching neck is attached to a dainty pair of shoulders and a head that is equally so. Long legs match a long whip like tail, adding just the right amount of height to her length. Her talons are small but are sharp enough to rip into another dragon with a surprising ferocity. Broad yet delicate looking wings will support her in flight, Gweneveth will have such control over her muscles that watching her fly will indeed be something to be graced with. Because she lacks in strength, she seems to make up for it in agility and swiftness of motion. Maneuvers that would otherwise be a complicated mess become a seamless dance, giving her a position of unchallenged acrobatics. On the ground it seems as though the Green simply glides across the soil, like a human who had danced their entire life. Movement is an effortless thing and a gift which she accepts both humbly and gladly.
As with her body type and shape, both of which are pleasing to the eye, so is her coloring. Gweneveth is an almost solid warm green color, like that of newly grown pine needles. Small lines of a much lighter green cluster on her feet and twine up her leg, but never ascending past any of her knee joints. This same color wraps around the base of her neck in an oval, its ends touching together in the middle of her chest like a necklace. But what one doesn't notice right away are the particular markings located down her back and across her shoulder and withers. These anomalies aren't exactly part of her coloring, despite being only minutely darker than her base coat. So much so that you would need to be standing within half a foot to see the variance in shade. No Gweneveth, like her countless brothers and sisters before her, has inherited a mutation in her genes. Small, raised bumps cluster together in what can only be compared to scales. They are made of toughened skin and provide an almost armor like coat for the Green. She is certainly a warrior maiden, or at least, can be one if she needs to.
Personality: Although not stunningly intellectual in a bookish sort of way, the Green is more known for her street smarts. She isn't the type of Dragon to sit and plan things out, unless there is good reason too, because she doesn't fit the role of a out and about kind of leader. She's more skilled in the ways of diplomacy. A subtle art that she views like a game to be won. The Green will undoubtedly rise in the ranks of capable Dragons in this regard, a skill that shouldn't be ignored. Especially in this day and age. Kind and rational, Gweneveth has the patience of a saint but not everything about her is exactly what it seems. For all intensive purposes the Green is serene and gentle, a calming presence is often a good way to stop disputes, though once she is pushed past even her lofty limits everything about her seems to evaporate. A temper that is hotter than any furnace emerges, one that is not entirely satisfied until whatever is in the wrong comes back to the right. If baited to fight with another Dragon, she will at first demur. But when it comes to true battle, all her maidenly charms go out the window and she fights with a courage one would have thought beyond her capacity.
On the other hand Gweneveth is both a flirt and a tease when it comes to males, finding it quite fun to be the center of their attentions. She will draw them in then push them gently away in a subtle game of cat and mouse, almost never favoring one dragon above the other. In terms of Flights she may or may not pick the same chaser more than once the outcomes usually hinging on proof and fact. If lets say, that dragon is bested by another, she will choose the better skill over a possible personal preference. Who ever wins her, deserves to. Gweneveth will not settle for less than a champion in her sky games. It is possible though for the Green to find a lifemate, but very unlikely indeed. She has startlingly high standards when it comes to settling down.
Pets
Puppy #3
Name: Axle (Axxie)
Gender: Male
Species: Canine
Breed: Red Aussie/Husky Mix
Personality: Despite being reserved and perhaps a little shy in initial meetings, he is an active canine with and even disposition. He tends to stick close to his chosen owner, not because he is overly suspicious of strangers or because he feels like his human needs protection, but because he likes spending as much time as he can with his human. When it comes to other canines (or other pets) he is seldom quarrelsome, though he does sometimes participate in rough play. If there was a sweeter canine than he, it would be hard to find, for not only is he good natured but loving. Of everything really. If his owner is okay with it, he is too. Gentle with babies and children of all species, he is a perfect canine for a person with family or other pets. He will love you as much as you love him, treat him kindly and he will do so in turn.
He is very intelligent and will need a good amount of stimulation to entertain him. Although born of two energetic breeds and daily walks will be required, he is often content to take it easy if there is a lull in activity. But don’t mistake his sometimes apparent laziness for a lack of alertness, for that would be a mistake indeed. He will often be at the door or alert in a hall before you even hear a knock at the door or the footsteps coming toward you, though he may not be a guard canine, he can be faithfully used as a first line of defense. Easily trainable, he will respond happily to well executed commands but may falter if the commands are half-hearted or improperly asked. Like any canine, he’ll occasionally test his boundaries and his human. Not out of malice but out of a little mischief and spirit.
Appearance: Although he retains his mother’s color and smaller stance, standing 20 inches at the withers, he is definitely a father’s boy. He does not have the spotted or patch work coat that all of his littermates have in one degree or another, consisting rather of three solid colors. Reddish brown covers most of his back, legs, tail, neck and head, giving way to white halfway down his legs and where his underbelly begins. The white also travels from his belly through his front legs and continues past his neck till is tapers off on his lower jaw. Tan, perhaps the least prevalent of the three colors, can only be found on the lower half of his head between where the Reddish Brown suddenly stops and the white begins. Above his eyes and on the very top of his head between his ears, are large white spots, inheriting these markings once again from his sire’s particular breed.
Greenish almond shaped eyes are set on a head that is neither too long or too short for such a mixture of breeds and is slightly rounded on the top, tapering to its widest point by his eyes. Though his ears flop over instead of sticking straight up like little triangles. With a solid ‘feel good weight’ of forty-five pounds, his body structure is good and sturdy so as to support it. He may not be the fastest of his littermates, but this boy is capable of great endurance when it comes to pulling and running. Large paws with fur between his toes suit his body just fine, allowing for swift snow running, or fast swimming in the warmer months when all off his undercoat will shed free. Coming from both long to medium haired parents, he will have to be brushed at least once a week to get rid of any free laying excess hair.
Deceased
Name: Sammy
Color: Blue
DOB: March 3017
Appearance: The jewel tone of this little blue is something that is quite the sight to see. His body is a bright and pure sapphire blue that is absolutely gorgeous. Flawless hide nearly shimmers in the sun as this lithe little creature moves through the air. His color makes it hard for him to hide if he wanted to. It is almost a shame that this little lad is a male; he would be quite the stunning female. He already turns heads, albeit not the golden heads he would like to turn. He does have a rather sweet croon for those ladies who catch his eye.
As far as blues go, he’s neither large nor small. His body is compact and lithe but also sturdy. His flawless hide camouflages the fact that his wings are just a bit too long for his body. The longer wingspan gives him a bit more stability in flight but it does make it a bit awkward to close them tight against his body. He can turn on a dime and likes to do aerial acrobatics, but he is rather klutzy when he tries to maneuver on the ground. The added length of his wings makes it difficult to walk with them spread out unless they are pointed upwards.
Personality: This little guy is generally a very sedate blue. He likes to show off in the air from time to time, but he isn’t excessive about it. The one thing that can get him going is mud. He absolutely adores it! He has been known to knock over mugs of liquid into the dirt just in the hopes of creating a slimy patch of dark happiness for him to befriend. He is certainly mud happy and will make anything and everything as dirty as possible with his wet best friend.
Typically, he stays close to his bonded, but if there’s even one small patch of mud, he forgets all of his training and his bonded until all of the mud is gone. He isn’t the easiest to train because he tends to get distracted by any amount of liquid, hoping that there’s mud. He doesn’t like sand. It gets darker like dirt does when it turns to mud but then it sticks to his hide in an uncomfortable way. At least mud baths help keep his hide softer. Sand doesn’t. He isn’t a very vocal blue unless he’s trying to woo some chosen beauty.
